We had a business meeting with buffet dinner. Great ambience and excellent food. Service was luxury class. Starters, soup and drinks were served at the table. Good spread of salads and desserts. Recommended.

Be it a family, business or couple. Welcomhotel has everything to offer! Cleanliness, comfortable and humble staff is what you look for and that’s what you get in return. Had a wonderful experience.

The good part - the way they dealt with a problem. The thermostat in my room wasn't working when I checked in and they didn't have another room that night. As my stay was for 3 consecutive nights, they sincerely apologised for the problem and the next day upgraded me to a suite which was a nice gesture on their part. Staff was courteous and professional and were always helpful.

Now for the areas where improvement is required - The building requires maintenance and while it wasn't a functional issue yet, you can feel that some areas are a bit worn out. Also, the food menu could have been extended in order to include more western dishes. Also, the swimming pool is a bit small but that's just me. Again, none of these is a deal breaker at the price point but it just takes away something from the overall experience.

Overall, well motivated and courteous staff, good rooms and fine food. A proper 4 star having potential to be much more.

This is the old chola hotel. The hotel has all the good amenities which we will be able to find in all the star hotels. The rooms are maintained neatly and the service is good. The lobby and the pathway to our rooms looks old, except for that everything looks good. The complimentary breakfast was really good and the buffet spread was wide. Overall the experience was good.

It was a delight experience to be at welcome hotel, the ambience was so good and the time spent there was so relaxing and the meeting was more like an professional bliss because of the pleasant atmosphere. The room service was so responsible and the time taken for their response was so spontaneous. We had a gud green tea and fruit salad and a great deal in business with this sweet cake

Nice hotel but a bit old. Rooms are big and most rooms are recently renovated. Our bathroom looked old even though it seemed to have been renovated recently. Staff are very nice. Breakfast was good. Location is very good as it is in the middle of the city with a lot of shopping areas nearby.

This hotel has undoubtedly the best service possible. The staff is quite warm and friendly and truly takes care of you. It helps. It doesn't feel that you are staying in a hotel.

The highlight of this hotel is the staff and the food. The people working here provide good service and the quality and taste of the breakfast, lunch etc. is exceptional. Mr. Ratan who looks after one of the restaurant gives a very good image to this hotel, and people like him who are part of the service industry promote goodwill for our country as well, especially when they are interacting with visitors from all over. Having said that, the rooms at this hotel are run down and disappointing. The rooms need new and better interiors.

Came here for conference. Everything was neat and tidy. But hotel was not visible from road even though hotel is on the road. They need to provide some landmark for hotel.

We went to the hotel for a few times. One for family buffet lunch. The spread was good. The staff were friendly. We ate only vegetarian food, therefore may not be able to comment on other food and drinks. Vegetarian food was good with live counters. Dessert and ice cream was also good. On other two occasions it was group gathering, first for a seminar organised by a bank and another time for the marriage of my colleagues. The vegetarian food on both the occasions were okay. Parking will be a problem here as it has limited parking space for cars. Hotel staff do the valet parking by parking the excess vehicles in outside locations. This results in delays. Two wheeler parking is still less with about 20 to 30 two wheelers could be parked tightly.

One of the oldest luxury hotel. It's in the heart of the city and close to the famous marina beach and the Gemini flyover. The A/C works just fine but, the rooms are excellent and quite large with separate seating area.

So it retains its old Glory, but very few customers.
Rooms are spacious, but on Sunday afternoon, there was some work going on, which didn't allow me to catch up on some overdue sleep.
Kabab platter dinner at their 1st floor restaurant was delicious, sumptuous & priced just right. Couldn't finish it.

It's a very old hotel with a long legacy. This doesn't let one have a feeling as if they are staying in a old place as the fit & finish is very modern. Situated in a very plush locality with homes of famous people like Rajnikant & Jayalalita close by, the hotel can be booked by anyone without slightest of hesitation.
Food is nice but very expensive. There are tonnes of restaurants just at walking distance & so foodies are in for a treat.
Rooms & big with very comfortable beds. Staff is very well trained & courteous.

I remember going here as a child. It's still a charming place as beautiful as it can be. The vast space in white gave it a grace that held on to it's true value.

It's a 5 star experience nothing less. It is located in a very plush location and is at easily accessible place. The staff is very courteous and professional. This gives you a very homely experience. The breakfast spread is very good ranging from indian to continental. The pool is somewhat smaller to the hotel of this size and given the Chennai summer you will find it cramped.

One of the first properties of ITC hotels its run down a bit in comparison to many other new properties in and around Chennai. The hotel still however has some of the best food options in Chennai and still has a lot of old world charm in its design and interiors. Definitely a great value for money and impeccable service.

This is the second time I'm staying in this hotel. Right from the Gentleman who mans the door to the guest relations officer to the restaurant manager everyone makes sincere efforts to ensure that the guest is made to feel at home. The ambience of the place is also extremely soothing.

Posh, located near the us visa office, reasonably priced for the luxury provided, food priced as per five star rates. Drawback was that there were no complimentary shuttle facilities provided by the hotel and the paid cab fares were exorbitantly priced (1100 rupees for a cab to drop me 2 km away and pick up). Didn't swim but the pool looked luxurious.

Being a regular at My Fortune, Chennai I can definitely say that it is one of the best hotels in Chennai as for its excellent service and location.
The food too is really good as compared to other hotels in the vicinity. I would personally recommend people who visit Chennai to definately visit this hotel at least once if you plan to stay for a few days in the city.

The last time I was here with my Family, the hotel staff was courteous enough to help us as we were with new born twins. They made sure there a person always with my wife and me to help us carry them when in the hotel.
I think that's a gesture I would personally never forget and would definitely come back to My Fortune.
