Great location. Tiny, slow elevators and only 2 of them. Room was large & comfortable.

Had the best night's sleep in their comfortable beds! The pillows were so great that I called the hotel after I got back home to find out what kind they were. I spoke with Alissa (head of housekeeping) who was very helpful and gave me all the information. I also love the fact that you can eat (because you are a hotel guest) at the popular restaurant (Black Tap) downstairs without waiting in their long line.

The room was a small one bedroom. It had a nice 1900 feel to it with wood framing and green wallpaper. Very nice bathroom. Despite the small space it still seemed large and homely.

Absolutely the best hotel we could have picked for our 5 days in NYC. 15 minute walk from all major sights in NYC and approximately 50 feet from the Subway, which by the way is easier than you would think. Excellent service with cute rooms. The continental breakfast was also good, perfect cup of coffee in the morning with some yummy pastry and fruits. If I get to go back to NYC I will be staying here again. Thank you so much for the best place to sleep. We felt very safe in Midtown at the Blakely

Smaller hotel with large rooms. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Hotel is decorated older European style with big comfy furniture. It's a little dark but for the price its worth overlooking. Centrally located in Midtown and close to Rockefeller, 5th Ave and Central Park. Breakfast is continental.

Good location and discounted parking at the garage next door. Front desk staff is friendly but the door guys don’t seem to know that they should open doors for guests. They pushed past us as we were trying to get in on 3 separate occasions. Our one bedroom suite turned out to be a regular hotel room, which in all fairness may be larger than most in NY but not a suite. Had to call for pillows as there were only 2 flat ones on the bed and the tub wouldn’t drain.

Good service. Clean and spacious. We unfortunately got a noisy room directly above the restaurant. Avoid the 2nd floor.

Our go-to boutique hotel in Manhattan when we bring guests to NYC. It’s in a great location near Central Park, Rockefeller, Radio City Music Hall, etc. but still quiet and you can escape from the hustle and bustle. The staff is friendly and helpful. The suite rooms are nicely appointed and are spacious for NYC. They have also recently renovated their restaurant.

I was beyond pleased with my whole experience here. Check in was a breeze and the staff was super friendly! 10 minutes tops from walking in the front door of the lobby to setting my bags down in my room. The restaurant next door (black tap) has a line wrapped around the block from open to close. The front desk can make you reservations 2 hours in advance so take full advantage of that. The rooms are spacious, clean, and cozy.

CON.....Our room was directly over the bar and the loud music went on till 1PM, then every morning around 5 AM the food delivery trucks parked right outside our window and were unbelievably loud. So, we got maybe 4 hours of quiet every night.....not enough! So, don't stay in room 201 if you need rest after a long day! We ask to move but there were no rooms available .
PRO....location.

absolutely loved this hotel!!! Right in the middle of everything! I was able to easily walk to Lincoln Center, and Time Square and my kids had a great time! My son is 6'5 and he fit comfortably on the daybed in the living room. My daughter and I shared the king sized bed and I didn't even know she was there. We enjoyed our free breakfast as well!! Basically the only thing that would make me like this hotel more is if it was free lol.

Great hotel, parking right next door. Within walking distance of Central Park, the MoMA, and loads of great restaurants.
Rooms are surprisingly large. I had a standard room; 2 queen sized beds, desk, small table, small kitchen area with compact fridge, sink, forks/ spoons/ knives.
The shower was amazing. Fantastic pressure and got hour quickly.
On the downside: Lighting could be better, I never was sure about my makeup in daylight. Another small thing is the number of outlets I the room. There were very few outlets available.
While i didn't use it, room service is available.
Overall, a very charming hotel. Look forward to staying again soon.

Lovely, relaxing feel to the place. Our room was spacious enough for 2 and the bed was queen-sized and very comfortable. Front-desk and concierge especially helpful and attentive (arranging for tv to be fixed quickly n giving directions). Note though - this hotel is a 30 minute taxi-ride to downtown/Battery Park (not 20)!

Positives: Location is great - near MOMA, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, etc. Staff are also great. Rooms are spacious (at least mine was) and the bathrooms are lovely. Negative: breakfast is very unhealthy and the decor of the rooms is somehow dated. All in all a good experience and I'd consider staying there again when in NY.

The staff was both helpful and friendly. It had a much more intimate feel to it (in comparison to the the Hilton or the the Sheraton) and the staff seemed to take a personal interest in making my stay pleasant. For an older hotel, it had all the amenities one would need and a charm to it the made my stay a unique experience. Great location- I would highly recommend staying here!

I was attending a profession conference being held at the Hilton, so this was a great location, close to my conference and other NYC sights. Rooms were comfortable, with a personal bat and snacks (for additional cost). Kind of pricey, but it's New York, so everything is.

We stayed in a nice room with microwave. Beds are comfortable and the overall service was good. Very attentive people, specially Andre. Hotel is very well located. Lower rooms are noisy due to street work at night. Breakfast is the continental/american with fruits, cereal, yogurt, bagels, english muffins, juices besides coffee. No eggs or hot ingredients.

Not perfect, but pretty close! Very friendly and helpful staff. Concierge let me use internet anytime I needed it; dont have a Smartphone. Good restaurant suggestions. I in turn told them to send guests to the wonderful, relaxing Central Park Zoo, which is walking distance. Even has a tropical rain-forest! Hotel has comfortable beds and deep sunken bathtubs, loved that. Also has microwaves, coffee and tea makers, and fridges in the room, along with a few dishes and utensils so you can dine in, if you want. I liked the decor and the music in the lobby. The free breakfast at Au Bon Pain was average but it was free and convenient. I suggest a higher floor, facing 55th Street. Hotel is easy walk to Central Park or Times Square. I would stay here again.

The hotel is a classic hotel in the heart of Manhattan. The rooms are very big and constable and have everything you need.

Central park and many other attractions are only a short walk away from the hotel making it great for people on holiday.

Second weekend at The Blakely. Everything was exceptional and relaxed. The ambiance is warm, quiet, and welcoming. The staff is kind, helpful, and efficient. The suite was well appointed, well maintained, and well laid out. The location is central to all things mid-town making short, or long, walks simple. Excellent fare is close by. The restaurant associated with The Blakely, Abboccato, should be given a pass. The food is average, the service poor, and the seating crowded. Please book The Blakely!

Great location: center of Manhattan, close to theaters, shopping, subway and park. Staff was attentive. Room was small and noisy: AC rattled and leaked (condensation), construction outside seemed to go 24/7, closet space was relatively non-existent, elevators were slow and creaky. Continental breakfast was forgettable.

A small Wonderful Hotel in a Wonderful City. This was not my first stay at the Blakely New York, and it will not be my last. This time I stayed sixteen days. My accommodation was a one bedroom suite, and the experience was consistently great. Housekeeping was excellent, and the entire staff I came in contact with were friendly and helpful. My accommodation was on the 8th floor facing City Center on 55th. Even with the constant traffic and construction, the noise level during the day was minimal and unnoticeable at night. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Its convenient to the theater district, shopping, tons of restaurants, and a variety of public transportation. The only negative is the included breakfast in the attached restaurant. The selection of food is very limited, and poor. Service is indifferent, and the restaurant is dirty. Don't waste your time, there are several good places to eat within a block of the hotel. I highly recommend this super hotel.

My family recently stayed at The Blakey to attend a function at Carnegie Hall. Upon entering the lobby, it was narrow but the staff was very pleasant. I had requested an early check in and they had allowed us to go to the room and our bags were delivered shortly after checking in. The 2 double beds room was very spacious, clean, neat and accommodating. We have no complaints regading our stay and the location gives easy access to many restaurants, delis and Central Park. A place of comfort away from home..
