Very nice hotel on campus. Staff was awesome! Rooms are very comfortable. Unfortunately, the Courtyard brand still doesn't recognize elite members of their Bonvoy program as does the other Marriott brands. That said, I would still stay here again.

We recently hosted a meeting for our South Carolina ProStart high school teachers at the hotel. We had little more than 50 participants attend the meeting and stay at the hotel. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was ready for our group and make the check-in process very easy for us. The meeting room was set up as requested and the staff did an amazing job taking care of us. The only issue we had was the temperature in the meeting room was a little to warm when we arrived. Mark, the maintenance guy, adjusted it and stopped by throughout the day to make sure we were comfortable. ProStart is a culinary arts program taught in high schools, everyone in attendance were all culinary arts teachers and they raved about the food and service. The meals were top-notch, we had an amazing group of servers that took care of all of our needs. We would definitely host another meeting at the hotel.

Great parking, great location and nice meeting rooms. Also the bar tenders are really great to talk to. This hotel has very low turnover so if you are a regular they know it.

Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC is a great hotel was there for 1 day for basketball game. The hotel was clean and well maintained which is important for a hotel. The staff is super helpful and friendly especially Zack thank you for your hospitality and great customer service in making sure We had the best possible stay. Bathroom is small but standard, nice and very clean. I’m not sleeping in the bathroom lol. The room is large with a great large flat screen. I have had a very positive experience and the wings here are absolutely the best and price is also great!! Kudos also to the bar staff both of the guys were great! This is a great hotel. Also free parking and shuttle to the vista area with tons of restaurants and bars! Thank you!

Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC is a great hotel in the middle of Columbia and close to the campus of the University of South Carolina. This is one of my favorite hotels in Columbia as it is convenient to everything and great for doing business and having meetings. The hotel is always clean and well maintained and smells good which is important for a hotel. The staff is super helpful and friendly and does everything that they can to make sure that everyone has the best stay possible. I have had a very positive experience and the breakfast, snacks and drinks are outstanding. This is an awesome hotel.

Overall a good stay. There was construction outside my room at 6am. Room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Easy walking access to a bunch of restaurants and the whole campus. They do have a convoluted policy about using restaurant credits within a certain time period or they expire. Apparently it's that way at every Courtyard now.

I was in town for a social event comma a wedding, and we needed somewhere to change use the restroom and freshen up. We stopped at the Marriott because it was convenient, and even though we felt awkward, the staff was very friendly and the inside of the building was immaculate. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone just based off of my limited experience in the lobby. It seemed like a top-class Marriott and I really appreciate the Friendly Dentist they offered us even though it was pretty obvious we probably were not spending the night there.

So, I've stayed at this same hotel a few times for a yearly convention I attend. I haven't stayed here in at least four years and I was disappointed that they did away with the complimentary coffee in the lobby and replaced it with a Starbucks that you obviously have to pay for.(Admittedly, I did buy some coffee and it was good) You can still make some coffee in your room that's complimentary though. That's not my thing though. Anyway, the room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. However, the tub in our bathroom was covered in black hairs. I'm a bit of a germaphobe and Iwas grossed out. I'm sure someone would have cleaned it up if I had called but I was too annoyed to have someone come in my room and just rinsed it out myself. I seriously was wishing I had brought some shower shoes (those exist, right?). The complimentary shuttle to Colonial Life Arena was great, especially for my parents who couldn't make the walk. The staff was friendly. Only 2 elevators and a very limited amount of luggage carts. We had a nice view of the Gamecocks old arena so we also had lovely sunsets.

Very small rooms. Double room with very little space. Not good if you have 4 people in this tight space. Very compact. No DVD player. Does not even have a microwave in the rooms. You can open and close the bathroom door, turn on the water in the tub while sitting on the toilet. Only 2 elevators with 9 floors! RIDICULOUS..... Very small pool. Looks more like a hot tub. Hitel seems to be clean. This is not what I'm use to, but I'm here now. NEVER AGAIN though.

This is a great place to be at in Columbia. Lots of things are available around you and the staff is so friendly and eager to point out anywhere you should visit. I plan to come back you should make this a destination for you and your family in the future

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The view we had from the 9th floor was lovely.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Great location that was easily accessible to where we needed to be. Our only complaint was that the outside heat seemed to be getting the better of the hotel. Our bathroom started to heat up if the door was left closed and we had trouble getting true cold water out of the tap. We brought these issues to the attention of staff upon checkout (we didn't really notice these issues until the overnight hours) who were apologetic and told us they would have maintenance look into it.

I attended a work meeting for two days in the Lexington room at the Marriott. The location was convenient, plenty of free parking, and friendly staff. The breakfast and lunch served was good. Our group did have trouble once with the hotel internet but it was resolved quickly. The setting was quiet and we got lots done. The bathrooms were very clean. Everything was clean and inviting.

Building and the indoor parking facility were a bit old. However, room was clean and well maintained. Receptionist, cleaning and restaurant staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. Excellent staff !

Everyone was so nice. We had a king suite and it was well laid out and comfy. Nice fireside seating are by the pool.

What a great hotel! It's located in the heart of downtown Columbia, within easy walking distance of the state house, museums, several Starbucks and a whole smorgasbord of restaurants. The hotel itself is clean and attractive, with a modern bistro on the ground floor offering delicious bites at a slightly too-steep price. The room we had was completely comfortable and clean. Best yet, maid service actually took care of everything while we were out for the day. Do you know how rarely that happens? So nice to return to freshly made beds, clean towels, replenished soap and more coffee to brew. And everyone was friendly! We'll definitely return.

The atmosphere the hotel sets is pleasing and welcoming. The bed I slept was incredible. The room also smelled great. I didn't like the prices for the food but over everything else, I still had a great experience.

Nice hotel in a good location. No free breakfast but options from the cafe are reasonable. Standard rooms with mini fridge. Everything was clean. Housekeeping did try to come in the room at 8am which was weird. They did knock, I just haven't had them come by that early before.

Good hotel right in the heart of downtown ColaSC. Staff was awesome and kept there composure when it seems the courtesy van drive left us out in the cold for it seems a long time.

The refrigerator and AC in our room was way to loud and kept waking me up this visit. Like others the parking garage will test your driving abilities!

I would still suggest a stay at the property when a visit to town.

The staff from everyone at the front desk to the maids we encountered in the hallways were extremely accommodating and personable. Each one went out of there way to say hello and ask us if we needed anything, welcoming the chance to help us if we asked. Great stay!!

The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel has friendly staff and were well prepared for the event taking place. But if you actually want to sleep, this isn't the hotel to book. All night long, all I've heard are sirens and ambulances racing up and down the streets of downtown Columia (right outside our window).

Room came with a pull out couch, which was great, and had plenty of parking. Everything was great

We had a great experience staying here. Kacey, at the front desk, was extremely nice and helpful with checking in. After checking in and getting in our room we discovered a small plumbing issue in the room. We called the front desk and Kacey had us another room to move to immediately. Great customer service & very nice, clean rooms. Will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Hotel is very well kept with friendly staff and excellent food. It is in a convenient location off of Assembly street and once checked in they will provide you with a parking pass for the garage.

Very clean rooms, great water pressure, quiet at night onside hotel but can hear sirens sometimes but it is downtown, great places to eat within walking distance, staff was very friendly, there was great flavored water available, and snacks and microwave dinners to buy. The bed is comfy, great pillows, HBO, sound machine, mini fridge, and pool.

Great value, very nice staff, great location. Lobby bar well-stocked and serves Starbucks Coffee. Pool water was a bit on the cloudy side but the deep end is 9 feet so despite the No Diving signs it's certainly deep enough and it's long enough to not feel completely silly swimming laps. Our room was nice, has a small fridge and a white noiseachine! Best of all, bed was great.

I love this Marriott! The hotel was fresh and clean. The staff was so accommodating and friendly! We really felt welcome and will definitely come back there whenever we're in town. Who cares about the tight (small) parking lot when everything else was great. We own a SUV and had no issues parking. 👌🏽

Dropped off some friends. Rooms seemed adequate, nice pool, small but not bad fitness room. Staff extremely nice and helpful.

It was a great stay. The room was well taken care of and very clean. The staff was kind and did all they could to assist me. The food there also didn't fail to amaze me. I enjoyed it overall.

This is a typical (i.e., good) Courtyard hotel. It is located right on the edge of USC, just a few blocks from the state capital, and within walking distance of The Kroger Center. The shuttle service to restaurants was excellent although there was sometimes a wait. That's only because she was busy shuttling others around. Note: there's no shuttle service...

Only had the privilege of staying one night, but ready to come back if in the area again! Room was spacious enough, and bed was super comfy! ALL staff was beyond my expectations! Everyone was so kind and friendly! There were two minor complaints I would have is the parking in the garage is TIGHT and some type of continental breakfast would have been a bonus also. There was a "bistro" but it seemed kind of pricey to me. All in all a wonderful stay!

It's got a brand new and wonderful interior and the rooms are always nice and clean. They've got an excellent staff and management that always take care of guests. They have a limited amount of conference space but it's an excellent place to stay if you're in Columbia.

Room was clean. Great view of downtown Columbia. Quite a few restaurants in walking distance. Service at the hotel was great. We did not try out the bar/bistro. There was plenty of parking, but the deck had very low ceiling height and anything over 6 ft would have to go around the block to park on the top level.

Front desk people were awesome! Parking garage sucks! Unless you drive a very small compact car you do not want to stay here. See the photos I posted of the parking garage.

The hotel is amazing. Very comfortable and clean (which says a lot). I could say that it has good luxury. Very modern as well. It has a cool place outside in the pool that is looks like it's recently new. Rooms are amazing as well. Nothing bad to say about it, in fact it was amazing!

The hotel and facilities were top notch. The bar food was sub par, and the hotel staff were rude toward those there for MEPS.

Restaurant has poor service and quality. They say they have a Starbucks, ordered a venti americano, they only put 2 shots versus the standard 4 shots. I asked why, replied we are told to. Funny thing is you're paying the same price. Room was mediocre.

We had a great stay at Courtyard Columbia downtown. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The room was perfect. Food was great.

Location is pretty solid as far as centrality with easy ways to get out of the parking garage. There are better options downtown but not for this price. It does make for an occasionally loud night stay. Room was fine-tv was small with dead pixels, bathroom didn't have a vent fan so it took forever to air out/defog after a shower--apparently it's not a code requirement to have one. Bathroom was also pretty small.

Free wifi, free parking, reasonably adequate continental breakfast, reasonably convenient to what I needed it to be convenient to. Friendly staff, rooms have AC that works, beds are better than others I've slept in while on the road lately. Not astoundingly amazing, but perfectly adequate and fine for the price.

Messed up my reservation. Lots of street noise. Crappy TV. Crappy wifi. But it is clean & comfortable.

We called after checking into the Downtown Sheraton and it being so loud we couldn't even nap. Paper thin walls. I called Todd at the Front Desk and he took magnificent care of us, even putting us in a suite for our anniversary weekend. Newly remodeled rooms were clean, well-styled, and QUIET.

What a wonderful experience at a great price.

Clean hotel. Love the view (at least from my room). Love the look of the hotel. Parking garage is very tight in space. Old stairs can be redone that lead to the upstairs parking area. Night crew was nice and the love the fact that they have a bar in the hotel. But they do need to tell you that they are going to charge your credit card for incidentals that may occur but have not occurred.

I stayed during the time when the power was out for a day or so. A situation like that is inevitable. Ms. Holly the general manager was so courteous and understanding when I called to discuss this with her. I have visited this fine facility for over 25 years and each visit has been a very comfortable and inviting one. I just like the way they handled the situation and made my feel like I was the only guest. I promise you this service provided by this hotel is top notch and for the price one of the BEST hotels I have eve stayed in!

Hotel is located a 5 minute walk away from the USC campus and is a great business hotel.

The staff was wonderful, especially the front desk attendant Kelly. Very accommodating, clean, and convenient hotel! If I am ever in Columbia again this is the only property I would stay at! Thank you :)

This is a nice hotel, but for the exorbitant price of around $190 a night, there should be more amenities included, like free breakfast or at least coffee.
The staff was amazing, except for one woman, Lauren. Every time we went to ask a question, she acted as though we were idiots.
I honestly have never posted a review, but I think that the manager should know about the horrible front desk service from Lauren.

An older hotel that's been completely renovated. Excellent room, service, location and value! Walking distance to USC, downtown and The Vista. Great service in returning items I left in room. Would recommend highly.
