Rooms are big but very very outdated. Only 2 power points on the one side of the room.
Bathroom was clean but could have done with a really good clean especially around the shower.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable, clean and tidy, Great friendly staff, especially the restaurant/bar manager. The place definitely needs a makeover as very dated, but I do believe they're already onto that. Restaurant was quite expensive for what it was,buffet breakfast was pretty standard too, we would definitely stay again but would not do dinner at the restaurant.

Was using the conference facilities - technical side of things was fine, food was good and we weren't disturbed at all. Heaps of parking and good wifi. Just probably needs an update if color and decor really

Great staff and food. Place could really use a makeover as very old. Bedding was terrible. Probably the most uncomfortable sleep I have had in a hotel. Good facilities though

The shower was stained, as was the shower curtain. The staff had left the windows open as well as the bathroom fan running in an attempt to cover some sort of strange odor that the previous tenant had left. The mattress was ancient and uncomfortable. Still, the room was a roof over my head and a place to shower.

The limited staff interaction that I had was pleasant and they were friendly. That being said, I would not choose to stay here again. But it's a good place to go if you're on a budget.

Wonderful staff. Great ambience. Quite and comfy rooms. Very affordable.

Straight out of the 70's with brilliant service and awesome breakfast. Great for people on a budget or large group bookings

I visited is a wonderful place I came for technical fair

My family of 20 members plus recently stayed at the Kingsgate in Hamilton at the Easter Weekend and talk about value for money ... It was a perfect venue that catered for our large group and we were super impressed at the size of our rooms and the pleasant staff who very kind to us considering we had children galore ... Couldn't recommend this place more for large groups and family friendly ... The only let down was the kitchen not being prepared with the much desired "croissants" which were on the breakfast menu ... having to wait around for batches on the spot was very disappointing, considering that bookings were made almost 2 months prior ... other than this, pretty happy all in all with the accommodation :)

Although the place is dated, what do you expect for cheap accommodation ?? ... hopefully in the near future the place will get a re-vamp as my particular room had a large "Fanta stain in the middle of the room" but overlooked cause' the Kingsgate served a purpose of giving me somewhere to sleep for 2 nights ... if I wanted more elegant accommodation for a higher price, I would have paid to stay at Sky City ... Just to note also, that the entry doors to each wing do need a bit of CRC & maybe slower stoppers cause' you could hear them slam from down the hall but again, overlooked cause' it was cheap accommodation !!

Reception looks like a grand international hotel & there are good meeting and conference rooms. BUT ... they forgot to build the hotel - the rooms and layout of the rest of the place is like a cheap motel without the convenience of being able to get luggage from a car to the room easily.
