Was a great experience for my first time down in Key West. Was greeted by Jim and David when I first walked in. They made the checking in process easy and exciting and even went over local restaurants to try and what to do on the island. The room was great!! Felt like I was staying at a secluded resort. The pool was great and so wasn’t the environment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to get away and not looking to stay at a generic hotel.

This place is amazing, I will stay here Everytime I go to key West. The beds are the most comfortable beds ever, might even be better than my own. Breakfast is great and the staff is awesome. Give it five stars all the way

Love this hotel. They were very accommodating with our early check in and late check out times. The best sleep I had in a long time. This hotel is a must stay. The inside and outside grounds are amazing. Highly recommended!

Went for the 5 to 7 piano happy hour. Older crowd. A nice break in the day or a great way to begin the evening.

Wow, first time here and loved it. Very secluded but still walking distance from all the action. Rooms very clean and felt like home. Really, don’t waste your time looking at anything else. Stay here when you come to key west!

Nice place, clean. Big room. I would bring my own shampoo/conditioner if I came again. You have to pay to park. The air conditioner is not strong enough in this room. If it were full summer I would be over hot. The grounds are pretty. Sculpture, water features, turtles, birds, nice pool open 24/7. Concierge is helpful. More for wine lovers than average joes like us. There is a wine bar where you can try different kinds. There are descriptions to help you choose. Piano player a few days a week. Nice lounge. Breakfast starts at 8:30am, but the morning snorkel I scheduled wants us there at the same time so we can't try it today. Sounds ok though. Not far from Duval St. Lots of activities nearby.

Only visited a friend that stayed there but is located right in the heart of old Key West. Room was large with all the normal ammenities. Hotel grounds are secluded by beatiful lanscaped garden areas and trees. Private pool an bar.

Friend had a room for his wedding stay. Was just visiting, but everything seemed really nice. The gardens were nice

My husband and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary - we loved it. We stayed in the Tree Top room. The room was a little small, but the bed was extremely comfy (plenty of soft pillows) and the adjacent patio was perfect for lounging. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The pool was amazing as well - complete with bar service. The bartender Adam was great - lots of awesome cocktail suggestions and had great advice for restaurants and music. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Perfect location - we were able to easily walk/bike to everything. It is within blocks of Duval Street, but far enough away so it was very quiet. They had a lot of nice small touches too - beach towels/totes that could be borrowed, umbrellas for the rain, bottles of water in the room, and there was always someone available for questions/help. We'd definitely come back!

Secluded and centrally located. Friendly bar staff and unattended wine bar. Curiously wine bar closed at 10pm which didn't make sense as it was automated. Sunday night jazz was good but didn't leave room for the guests.

Very nice hotel! Although it's very central of Key West (everthing in walking distance), it is very quiet and cosy. Very friendly employees. Sunday late afternoon is a live Jazz bamd playing in the garden. Very nice rooms, good beds, loved it there!

This was like a dream hotel. We went here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. They check you in with a complimentary glass of champagne free hors d'oeuvres and breakfast included with your stay. Jaccuzi rooms. The beds you just melt in and the gardens themselves are perfectly put together so as to seem you are far away from civilization. Will be going again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds/gardens surrounding the hotel were beautiful. I wish it were a little closer to the beach but most places were within walking distance.

The gardens I think is the best hotel experience in Key West. It is so secluded and yet just one block away from a first class dinning expeience or a nite of full on debauchery on the famaous Duval St. It is well worth the money!

Looking for a quiet tranquil and adult only property then this is the choice....beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms and excellent staff...location cannot be beat...if you don't have to be directly on the ocean then The Gardens Hotel is for you

it was a charming stay in KW local to most everything within walking distance. the rooms, service and more is worth the stay and the expense. most of thing good adventures within KW is within walking distance however parking is $25 p/day.

Beautiful room, grounds, and pool. Great staff. David was super welcoming, and a great host. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will certainly be back. The Gardens is a beautiful, quaint, old school hotel. She rooms have gorgeous hardwood floors, cozy furnishings, and cheerful decor. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and ensure we were having a wonderful time. I have absolutely nothing negative to say to say about this property.

Wow! This is the place to stay in Key West! Everything is no more than 20 minutes away walk. The Hotel should be rated higher than 5 stars. It's so lush with landscaping, ponds, Turtles, pool side bar the pictures don't do it justice! I love this Hotel the owners and staff are 10 stars as far as helping. What a great romantic Hotel. Best place I've stayed in Key West! Like a home away from home, doesn't even seem like a hotel. Very accommodating staff and a great breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

My family and I have been coming for the last 12 years. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. Location to the square and beach are perfect . Housekeeping and office staff are fabulous Units cleaned nicely everyday. All staff are friendly and helpful. Pools are perfect Love the lounging tables and weber grills. Can't wait to come back.

“Perfect garden oasis”
My husband and I left single digit weather in Ohio to celebrate our anniversary at The Gardens Hotel. We were not disappointed with either the weather or this fabulous hotel! We spent 4 nights in the Carriage Room 4A, located directly over the cabana bar. Beautiful room with a beautiful view of the pool, gazebo and the lush grounds. We felt like we had the property to ourselves. The balcony was a perfect spot to listen to the jazz quartet that performs most Sundays. The owner and the staff were incredibly attentive and accomodating. (Special shoutout to bartender Ed for his advice, recommendations and friendship.) Great location within walking distance of just about anything you would want to go do. Leave your car at home... as previously mentioned in other reviews, parking is a pain and expensive everywhere in Key West. I could go on but won't... perfect garden oasis.

The staff and owner, Kate, were welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. Even the resident large turtles were social! In-depth research of alternatives suggested that the hotel was reasonably priced as well.

My wife and I found the Gardens far more warm, inviting and relaxing than the large, institutional hotels with a bit more privacy than a B&B. We had a delightful experience.
Room Tip: Our king bed suite on the second floor offered privacy, quiet, great ventilation with windows open...

Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple

Gorgeous location and the grounds are spectacular. Rooms were large and clean and well decorated. Staff was fantastic as well. Located just a block off of Duval. Will be staying again next time we need a key West getaway!

We stayed here for a few nights during bike weekend. We enjoyed everything about our stay here. Super close to Duval and all the action but still super secluded for privacy to get away from the action and relax. Great staff, super friendly. Highly recommend. I think my favorite part was our marble bathroom, not a detail was missed. Great breakfast buffet in the morning.

My girlfriend is used to the Four Seasons Hotel and the Ritz and she LOVED it here. The place is just amazing from soup to nuts.

Beautiful secluded gardens. Nicely appointed rooms. Amazing personal service. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to cater to us. This is truly a gem tucked away, just around the corner from all the action.

We were able to book last minute after the Duval House treated us terribly. This place is incredible treated us so well after the bad experience this was the best anniversary trip ever thanks to the Gardens. We come to the keys frequently and will definitely stay again.

The perfect Key West location -- middle of the island only one block from Duvall. You can stay in a megalith resort anywhere, but The Gardens Hotel provides a true Key West experience. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I can't imagine staying anywhere else now.

Everything that we expected it to be! Quiet, yet nice common area where we found interesting people to talk to. The rooms seem very private. We will definitely stay here next time we return to Key West!
