The service is great, but the rooms are a bit old. Overall: recommended if you're looking for comfort and good service. Not recommended if you're looking for a trendy atmosphere

Amenities were nice and appreciated. Room was not very clean. Saw multiple stain on drapes, carpet, sofa, etc. Hospitality was excellent. Only reason why it is a 4 star. If it wasn't for the staff's hospitality, it would be a 2 star rating.

It would have been a 4 star but they overbooked and we had to settle for 2 rooms instead of the large suite we reserved. We will be visiting again and hope to have a better experiance. The hotel was nice and deserves another chance.

Our room we had was 2 split bedrooms, bathrooms attached, a living room in the middle & a small full kitchen that was located next to the door. Tv in every room.
Great comfy room after a busy day of exploring. We got our room on the ground floor which was nice to go for a walk when ever we wanted.

Our room was nice and spacious, but the sofa bed was not the most comfortable. The breakfast was actually pretty good by hotel standards. Waffles, eggs, sausages, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. The staff was top notch, though. Made us feel at home.

We just got here Saturday afternoon and we already love it. Marcella is an amazing and gorgeous girl. She and my wife hit it off immediately over the phone. When we finally met her, it was like they were long time friends. Marcella went the extra mile to accommodate us. We usually stay at Hilton Mission Valley, but we now have a new travel home at Homewood suites Del Mar. Our reason for coming to Homewood Suites today is to celebrate our anniversary. Our new friend welcomed us in a special way. That is what everyone should be like. I think we will return here without a doubt. Beautiful rooms and friendly staff, even free breakfast offered. No hassle lodging. The best prices anywhere.

What a hidden gem!
Here for a conference, and wow this place is super. Lobby is lovely. The king suite (they have many different types) is comfortable, large and very very decent. Clean and well equipped. I'm happy with the great service at the front desk...they let us check in early (thanks so much) and I am delighted to hear about the free evening meal. As soon as I finish taking a nap (the bed is great, and so is the fluffy extra blanket) I will go and check out San Diego. Apparently, they've only had 2 days of rain all winter (it's May) and so everyone local is happy that it's raining today. As a visitor, I am not so happy, but hey...the sun will come out eventually! There are loads of food places nearby... perhaps I will eat first, nap later.

2 bedroom 2 bath suite, great for 2 families each with a 1.5 year old. Great front desk service and housekeeping did a great job. So very thorough with the cleanup and reorganizing the areas. Love the breakfast provided in the mornings. Great business area for printing and whatever else you may need. Improvement needed, new drapes. The blackout drapes were like Swiss cheese and sunlight would shine through the holes in the morning. Our guess was that they were old and wearing out?

Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the Breakfast and the evening meal. Convenient location for UCSD tour and San Diego attractions.

Very convenient to have a hot breakfast AND dinner available. Dinner was Monday through Thursday. Room was clean. Service was good. Bed was firm and pillows were soft. Room had a fridge and two burner stove. Very friendly staff. I'll be back when in town on business.

Good food provided by the hotel for our lunch and snacks. The meeting space was overall good. The chairs could have been a little more comfortable but it wouldn't stop me from coming back here for another conference.

This hotel is really close to the highway. If you’re working in the San Diego area it is absolutely perfect and at a great price pint. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.
The only negative is that the hotel is In a severe need of a facelift. Severe. Need.
It’s the oldest looking and decrepit Homewood suites I’ve ever stayed at.

Love the hotel the suites are nice and roomy, there is a free breakfast and dinner included, limited choices, but great for budget travelers and those with minimal food allergies

I have stayed at this hotel many times because the area is nice and the staff is great. Their dinner they have from Monday through Thursday is actually dinner and not just a social like some.

Great hotel chain in general, however one of the worse Homewood sweets ive stayed in. Still probably one of three best hotels around though.

Well equipped rooms and very nice service. The breakfast is OK but could be better. Very convenient for a business trip and I would certainly consider it for a family trip too.

This hotel is great. Complimentary breakfast and dinner is a huge plus for business trips. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly and approachable. The reason this hotel gets 5 stars and not just 4 is that I left an article of clothing in my room after I checked out, and when I called the employee who handled my call was helpful and responsive and shipped it back to me for free! Great place!

My trip is not over yet. I am on a business trip. I am very satisfied with this hotel, its staff and service. Complimentary breakfast and dinner really made my life easy, considering I am totally foreign to this place.

Great place, excellent breakfast. There were very few power outlets which made it hard for charging phone and laptop at the same time. But would recommend this place.

Super nice neighborhood for the hotel - lots of.trees, close the water and quiet area. Wonderful food for free breakfast and dinner some nights! Happy hour!

This hotel was great! We would stay there again for sure. We went with our 9 year old daughter. Breakfast was really good ( hot and cold options available); buffet dinner with beer and wine is served free of charge Monday to Thursday. The staff were absolutely AMAZING. So helpful and friendly. Could not ask for better service! The only possible downside was that the bathroom could use some upgrades. This actually didn't bother us but might put some people off. Otherwise pool was nice and quiet; room cleaning was excellent. Close to everything. Thanks homewood suites del mar!

Nice little property. Very friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast. Pool and back area have plenty of tables and chairs so I was able to smoke my cigar and sip on my scotch out in the shade. Rooms are quiet and clean. We got a large room with a small kitchen area. About 15min away from major theme parks. Would stay here again.

This hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly, and the food was good. It's a great place for families.

The hotel staff were the best ever.... and the was very nice and very clean ... breakfast was pretty good just wish I could have been there for the dinner that they offer.... i will definitely stay here again

Overall a great experience. One of the better breakfasts at a hotel I have had, and I've had a lot. I do feel bad for the environment whenever a toilet is flushed.

Great breakfast. Appropriate respectful, polite staff who attended to service when requested . However, maintenance and attention to detail for amenities is concerning . I'm a businessman over twenty-plus years and a Gold member. This location had a pool that was dirty, filled with multiple gnats , hairs and appearance of an unhealthy condition. As important, the lumpy uncomfortable king-size was bested by a high quality air mattress. These concerns, including quality gym, as compared to recent stay at Four Point Sheraton nearby, are suggestive of low attention to detail. Cost was less with in miles of the same location. This is my first disappointing stay at Homewood Suites. Long-time customer x 20 years. I'm sure these issues could be addressed very quickly. I hope this comment will rest upon Homewood management and rise to their out-standing past reputation.

Fast response with needs such as towels and sheets. Good food. Comfortable rooms. I have no complaints at all.

Very dated hotel. The furniture and lobby feel at least 15 years old, and rooms are dark. The walls are also relatively thin, so if you're facing the pool you can definitely hear it.

While the room was mostly clean, there was cracked and split linoleum in the kitchen and everything needed a fresh coating of grout as all of the edges in the bathtub were blackened with age. I was traveling on business and had colleagues at the Hyatt House just a few miles away which was much more up to date, cleaner, and the same price, while still being an extended stay.

Well it was tricky to find the entrance to the hotel from the road since arriving my customer service experience has been stellar. My only critique would be the wear and tear on the hotel itself. Lots of scratches and nicks on furniture and not well maintained paint on the walls. While the rooms could use a touch-up, the customer service makes up for it.

Nice place, breakfast good. Pool nice, helpful staff. Overall i would return. Great location, everything worked, fully equipped kitchen suites. Had pots ans pans, plates, fridge, stove top. I mean you could cook a meal. Room view of the pool just beautiful.

Recommend this place for everyone, single or couple or group. Very clean, spacious rooms and excellent service. Beds are super comfortable. Wifi access is very good. Both breakfast and dinner menus were excellent with lots of choices for adults and kids.

My stay was wonderful, the rooms and restrooms where clean and the brakefast was absolutely spectacular. If im am ever in the area i would absolutely chose to stay here again.

In town for a soccer tournament. Room had a kitchen which was very handy. The Incredible Staff was delightful from Manager to anyone we ran into. All very accommodating to our needs. Greeted us with smiles late at night and had a welcome bag for our kids. Very helpful with places to eat etc. Breakfast was perfect for a "free" with stay meal. Fresh eggs, fruit, cereal, oatmeal and even make your own waffle. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate available all day. Room was clean.

Kind of far away from downtown, but it has a big room with a kitchen and a good bathroom, free breakfast and an evening meal at weekdays. I had a very sympathic recepcionist, and received a warm welcome at the hotel

This is a family friendly hotel. All the staff are very nice. I'll recommend this hotel to my friends.

This Homewood suites was well kept and updated. The rooms felt like a newer hotel with little use. The only problem experienced was that we came back after 2pm and to our surprise the room was not cleaned. Parking was ample and there was always spots close to the lobby. I would come back again.

My friend was visiting from out of town and was staying here. When I stopped by, there was ample parking outside. The lobby area looked clean. The hotel room was clean and spacious. Everything (bed, appliances, carpet) looked pretty new. I would consider staying at Homewood Suites in the future.

Small room, somewhat dated furniture. Staff is great, all were friendly and helpful. Pool is alright. No bar, have to walk across the parking lot to the hotel next store for a drink.
Overall decent, works to put your head down. Get out and do something, San Diego has enough to do you don't need to worry too much about a fancy hotel.

This has been the most enjoyable stay that I've stayed at a hotel... Clean and comfortable rooms, great facility and the MOST wonderful friendly, sweet and helpful staff EVER... I toured San Diego, but the hotel itself was such a spectacular treat it was as great an as attraction as Hollywood, Sea World, sports game, dinner cruises, historic tours, the beach and other places The managers, the staff,, crew, Aly, Norma and the whole gang made my vacation even better than I had planned.

Perfect location for travelers. Close to Del Mar and Torrey Pines State Park. Easy access to San Diego via I5. Easy parking. Great staff. Clean spacious rooms. Breakfast and dinner (during weekdays.) Stayed here a few times up to a week and would do it again.

Great place to stay. Away from the noisy downtown but that is what you want after all the fun in downtown San Diego. Love to visit again. Good is good and the staff are nice

The ft desk was extremely helpful. The rooms seemed to be updated and clean. Love that they don't charge for parking. They also have a nice selection for breakfast

Excellent staff keep the entire hotel tidy and clean, morning breakfasts are exceptional, and their all day coffee, tea, hot chocolate is a great commodity to swing by and grab during cold hours or down time.

Location was good, not so close to the action it was crowded and busy but close enough. Room was excelent, large and clean. I've always enjoyed Homewood Suites and would be happy to stay at this one again.

Overall it has been OK, but only giving 2 stars due to very poor wifi signal and the entire hotel being a cellular dead zone(minus a few spots in the lobby which has zero outlets for you to use). If you want to use your phone for extended calls or data, you must step outside...literally, 1 foot past the building and you have signal...1 step inside it's gone. If the wifi wasn't so spotty this wouldn't be a big deal...

It's been great staying here. The rooms are awesome. It's made a month long stay very nice.The food is alright but great to be able to grab after a long day. Only problem is the WiFi is super spotty.

Probably the best hotel we ever stayed at! All the staff was outstanding!! When we checked in hotel found out it was our daughter's birthday the next day and she was spoiled beyond words....everyone sang happy birthday to her when we came down for breakfast the next morning and presented her with gifts; when we came back to hotel that night there were cupcakes and more gifts in our room and when we went down for dinner they had baked her a cake!
Hotel was also very clean, big rooms and location is very convenient! Will definitely stay there again when in the area again.
