Wow! Very interesting hotel. Location is great right next to opera house, train station and also Christmas market right outside of the hotel.

Hotel is historic and had many famous guests. Check out the history on the walls next to the elevator. Oh and the elevator is a must see itself.

I simply love this place. The location is excellent and the staff were very friendly. I was upgraded to a corner suite which was opulent and spacious with excellent views. This is not a high rise property. The breakfast was a grand experience. This would be the place of choice for me whenever I come to Vienna

I'm halfway through a week stay and I am very impressed. The room is nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast buffet is quite nice. I appreciate the vegan options. One little misunderstanding was quickly corrected by the staff. The location is wonderful - directly across from the Opera. Very pleased so far!

I stayed at Hotel Bristol for 5 nights and would highly recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Vienna. As a Starwood Gold Member I was upgraded to an Executive Room at arrivals and the hotel staff was extremely helpful and courteous throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and the service was impeccable as even if we stopped into the room for a moment it seemed as if house keeping came and reset the room every time.

Wonderful location at Karlspatz U-Bahn stop which has 4 metro lines going through it, short walk to pedestrian shopping section & connected to indoor shopping malls, Bloom Bar in Do&Co., topnotch Concierge services, professional kind-hearted staff who are willing to go the extra mile, very clean. Breakfast is just OK, bland & limited offerings. The Classic Room is quite narrow. Ask for Opera view, higher floor with bath having separate shower & ask for updated room. Needs better a/c. Needs updating. Owned by Sacher group. Front lobby a bit small, not grand like the Hotel Imperial. Has so much potential! Their staff helped make our wedding anniversary so special!

This hotel is quite famous in Vienna and is perfectly situated near all the museums and the Opera House. We have stayed here previously, and sometimes one's memories ( and therefore expectations) are not matched when one returns. In this case they were surpassed. We had been travelling in Europe, and compared with other hotels of stature this hotel has more generous and beautifully appointed rooms, and six star service- any request being accommodated effortlessly. A special mention must be given to the head concierge, Mr Dieter Ludewig. For his expertise alone it is worth staying in this hotel. He can arrange tickets and reservations which are otherwise 'impossible' and he is the embodiment of Viennese charm and intelligence.

I realize I am a little late with this review. In fact, Google was founded the year before my wife and I stayed here on our second honeymoon. We came for a much needed break and the total solar eclipse in 1999.

I suppose I really need to just say two things here. First, everything was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Second, we still talk about this experience, tell the stories and praise the hotel nearly 20 years later.

I certainly hope we get to return someday. Thanks for the memories!

The Hotel Bristol was nice and had a nice historical feel to it. We were SPG platinum members but didn’t have any added benefits so it wasn’t worth spending the points on the room. It was very centrally located, but not ideal if you don’t like crowds or a lot of tourists. It was nice to say we’ve stayed there but would choose a more practical accommodation next time.

WOW! Where do I begin. Very friendly and trained staff. The hotel has a great lobby and decor which creates an amazing ambiance. Rooms are great, some with a great view of the main plaza and of the opera house. The hotel is located at the city-center which was also great. The presidential suite was great though, with it,s own mini rotunda and view of the opera house. GREAT HOTEL 10 STARS!!!

Great location, luxury Vienna option, though a bit stuck in an 80's vibe, but in a good sort of way...nice bar to get a post dinner drink with international patrons. Staff efficient and courteous, got an upgrade to a junior suite which was nice.

Awesome hotel. So classy and beautiful. Fantastic service. Very friendly and helpful staff at every level. We felt right at home and everything we asked for was given to us in no time. The lobby does smell a little like cigarette smoke but otherwise there is no smoking in the rooms and everything is as clean as could be. They leave you Mozart chocolates on the bed every day which is really cute.

It is located in the best part of town. You couldn't ask for a more perfect spot. The hop on hop off is across the street, main tourist attractions are within 5 minutes walk. Area is very safe (or we felt very safe) and the streetcar and subway stations are just in front of the hotel.

Bristol is my favourite hotel in Vienna. It is situated just a couple of steps from the Vienna Opera. It is the best choice if you are planning to visit it. The best rooms are on the first and the second floor. The breakfast is very good. Ask the rooms faceing the Opera. That will be the best view.

Absolutely love the Bristol. I have stayed here twice. The rooms both times have been really charming with interesting/historic decor. The concierge staff here is also top notch. I showed up to Vienna without any idea what to do and they made sure that I used my time well. Also, the breakfast in the morning (platinum amenity) is excellent. Best of all is location. Located right next to all of the great downtown attractions.

Absolute luxury in Vienna! Our suite had a direct view of the famous Opera house and was as majestic as it looked in pictures.

I sincerely enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Bristol. The location is amazing with everything, including pub transit, within easy walking distance of the hotel. The bed was extremely confortable and the staff was attentive and non-intrusive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Vienna.

4.5 stars. Amazing location plus amazing staff. Close to 5 stars, except for the fact that the building is in need of major updates. Can never get water temperature to stay consistent. Phone system still works on pulse dialing.

Can't say enough about how amazing the staff is. Very attentive. And the hotel being steps away from Innerstadt. Absolutely amazing for tourists who like to walk and soak in the atmosphere.

Tourist from US: OMG this place was lovely!! The waiters were very polite and speedy. They understood that we had a show to get to and made sure that our meal arrived in time for us to make the show. We were even given the directions to the show. It was marvelous!

This is a beautiful old place with more than a whiff of history about it. I would return again though for the incredible location and kind, accommodating staff. Recommended.

Just an overall amazing experience. The location is top notch, probably the best in all Vienna. Rooms are antique, so you have to like it, but the bed is a very comfy Simmons standard American hotel bed so you'll sleep good. Breakfast is nice - even though in such an upscale place I would have expected more individuality.

Very pretty hotel in a nice central location. We had a few drinks which were good. I really liked their overall design and lobby. Even the elevator looked extremely cool with leather seats added to it.

Didn't stay here but used the toilet for free. The cubicle was made of fine marble and seat was comfy. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing! My family got an upgrade to a suite and we very much enjoyed all the amenities the hotel provided. The room is very tastefully decorated, the bed is among the most comfortable I've been on, and most importantly, it has an amazing view of the State Opera House. Will definitely stay again!

Very helpful. Great gem of a hotel. I appreciate the hospitality and the preservation of the hotel. Some items are old. Limitation is the single lift. Many people who do not carry any luggage uses this lift which may prolong your wait time

The location is wonderful, easy access to the major sights of Vienna. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds and AC.

Amazing hotel in a very good area in Vienna. Being a SPG platinum member they gave me a beautiful corner suite overlooking the Opera House right across the street. Thank you so much for the beautiful upgrade. The room was enormous and so opulent. I chose the breakfast as my welcome amenity, a €65 value for 2 people. It was great complete with champagne and a huge selection of jams and jellies. Don't miss out on the "American Bar" which is complete with wood paneling and red velvet seats. They have a great selection of scotches. And signed pictures of past guests including Richard Wagner. The hotel embodies beautiful, stately old world charm.

The veal Cutlet was soft and well marbled, the US Prime Rib was not as soft and overcooked (it was medium-well instead of medium-rare). The gravy jus was very tomato-y and whilst very good, it did not pair well with the steak. The grilled vegetables were quite good but a very small portion. The rare tuna was not very enjoyable - the sauce did not pair well with the fish; get the seabass with beetroot ravioli instead! The roasted beef sirloin was average - the gravy was overpowering. The cheese soup entree was a light broth of parmesan cheese - not very creamy but quite tasty. The bittersweet chocolate gateau was satisfying. The sorbet was very good. Good wines were available.

Beautiful and historic hotel, right across from the Vienna Opera House. It does not get better than this. The staff was also lovely. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

For a luxury collection hotel the service was hit-or-miss. When it was good it was excellent, and when it was bad it left us feeling unwanted. Beautiful rooms and an excellent breakfast spread, and the hotel bar is also lovely with a vintage feel. However, smoking is allowed in the bar, and it can get quite smokey!

This is such a unique hotel with a lot of history. Many famous emperors and special guests from other countries would stay here whenever they went to Vienna. The hotel has a lot of character and maintains its old charm with a feel of luxury and grandeur. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the Vienna Opera House and it was beautiful. We even had a balcony. We were given a deluxe room with a king sized bed. The entrance to the room required a special chip key, one reminiscent of a USB insert. Upon entering there was a beautiful marble hallway. There was also a walk-in closet and a beautifully decorated marble tiled bathroom. The actual main room where our king sized bed was even had a chandelier and fancy curtains that led to the balcony. There were lots of additional closet and dresser space to put all your clothes. Everyday, they come by to give you these Mozart or Sisi chocolates which they place on your pillow. There's even a complimentary shoe shine if you leave your dress shoes in the shoe bag. The Bristol Lounge where they have their buffet breakfast is also magnificent and serves of historical significance. A lot of famous people from the past had dined there. The service was superb and the servers were very attentive to people's needs. The breakfast itself had such a variety and was delicious. Before leaving the hotel, you would typically leave your key at the front desk and they will give it to you again when you return. One of the folks at the front desk even remembered my name! Great hotel and a great location!! Very short walking distance from all the key Viennese places and the subway stop Karlsplatz is right there so that you easily get to other places.

Stayed here on business in 1979 and loved it then and I've recommended it to my good friends for their coming trip. It appears to have only improved with age, like really fine wine. Great people and locale. Thank you again for your hospitality. Allied Stores New York.

It is an Amazing hotel. The best Location in Vienna! Opposite the opera - the Heart of the City. It is a historic hotel - so those of you who like modern places - it is Not for you. Those of you who want to experience the Real Vienna Star there - staff is Amazing - they Renovated Public spaces. I Love Bristol. Will go back in a Heart Beat"
