Can you give a 4 Star Hotel a 5 Star rating? Well i guess you can. This little bijou hotel is tucked away on the smallest side street in Paris, not too far from the Gare du Nord and close the Opera district.

Reception was compact and interestingly, the front door was locked and is kept locked all the time. Staff let us in as soon as we tried the handle and your room key unlocks it otherwise.

There is a distinct dark theme to the whole place, the dining area, stairs corridors, even communal areas.

The room was lovely and whilst appearing small on entry, a large open plan bathroom is hidden away. The toilet was in a separate, all black, room. A real WC [water closet]!

The shower was a lovely, large, well appointed affair and large enough to fit two!!!

The bed was nice and firm and aided in a good night's sleep.

Despite being so close to a main road, and being on the Front of the hotel, the traffic noise was not intrusive.

A really lovely gem of an independant hotel which I would happily stay at gain.

I have stayed in many hotels in Paris, this is definitively the best so far according to my requirements. It is not the most luxurious or design-ish or stylish. But it has friendly staff, good cleaning, it's quiet, it's situated close to really good restaurant areas and several metro+bus lines, it has a fairly well-stocked breakfast and excellent air conditioning. For me, this is a hotel jackpot. And not at all easy to find a hotel in Paris that matches all these conditions. For those of you who require a large room, choose another hotel or actually choose another city altogether. Many hotels in Paris have really small rooms.
We stayed three nights in a superior room with a terrace, which was just wow (however so hot that we could use it only late in the evenings). The room was ok in size, however the toilet was situated in a room behind the left side of the bed, and the bathroom and wash basin behind the right side of the bed. So you had to walk around the bed just to wash your hands. Not optimal but not at all a problem.
The lift didn't function well, you had to stand really still otherwise the doors would open and shut again and again. Annoying.
Don't underestimate the power of really good air conditioning after a whole day of sun and 30 degrees C.

Excellent location. Very friendly service. The bed and the bed clothing were of high quality. The breakfast is fairly limited, but with a good selection. Avoid the coffee.

Conveniently located close to the metro and Opera area which us quite a lively area. The hotel on the edge of the 8th and 9th arrondissement. The hotel is small but, with extremely helpful staff. They recommended and even booked some restaurants on our behalf based on our interests. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious but, they do have an odd layout which enters into the bathroom area first! The breakfast is okay with a selection of continental and hot breakfast (eggs, bacon,sausage) and they have the best all butter croissants.

Great hotel, strong interior design with good size rooms. Powerful shower in open plan bathroom that had a lounge area with 2 chairs and a coffee machine. Breakfast selection was impressive

Had a great stay at Hotel Eugene en Ville. Staff are extremely friendly and offered complimentary coffee and croissants, while waiting for our room to be ready. The terrace was space and comfortable, and the location of the Hotel is fantastic. Will return again next year!

Small but comfortable rooms in a nice part of Paris surrounded by brasseries and pubs. Staff were very polite and accommodating.

Very nice but small rooms. I had everything I needed but there was a very strange smell in the room and opening the windows did not really help... But the location of the hotel was pretty good.

Charming hotel in a great location. Rooms are decent, but very small. Touted as a luxury boutique hotel, but while it is boutique, it isn't luxurious. Nonetheless, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and adequately equipped. I'd stay again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are definitely small and, even though we had an "Expedia VIP room," we still had a tiny room with no outside access. Lighting was also dim. You can't beat the location though - close to the metro and a lot of cafes, still within walking distance to the major tourist attractions if you don't mind a mile or two. Staff is very pleasant and friendly and speaks pretty good English. The breakfast was delicious! Best breakfast we had our entire trip through Europe! Overall, we would definitely recommend.

Really nice hotel. Staff are lovely and good facilities. Rooms are alittle on the small side but not unlike the rest of Paris. Good location with a nice atmosphere and good transport links.

Very comfortable and cozy well located hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. The metro runs from the doorstep and it's very easy to get anywhere in Paris. We were there for work but also had a day off and the area near the hotel is nice to explore as well. would certainly stay with them again.

Quaint and cosy, fantastic staff and very well localised! The rooms are well furnished, clean and comfortable. Stayed for 6 nights and plan on staying again the next time I'm in town.

Hotel Eugnene en ville's location is very convenient, the nearest subway station is under 10 min on foot. The room we had was very nice and the shower was wonderful. The bed was just the right hardness for me but my partner found it just a tad too hard. The room was very clean and there was no sign of wear and tear. The service was adequate and fluent in English. The breakfast we had there was of the French sort but was complemented with various continental aspects. What makes the stay to be a unique experience is the little back story that can be found in the hotel information book in the room. This gives you a lead on the style, decoration and other details in the hotel.

Brilliant little find for a Parisian hotel, not your usual poky little worn rooms. Nice mix of classic hotel requirements and interesting new additions. Very distinctive, alternative and quirky. If you can get a room with a terrace, do!

Overall, a very good experience. I travel quite a lot and this does not measure up against upmarket hotel chains like Marriott but it was overall very good value for money.

Rooms are quite small, but everything is fresh, clean and comfortable, as it must have been refurbished quite recently.

Good location in a vibrant part of the city. Only a 20 minute walk from Gare du Nord. The room was barely large enough for the bed, but it was a very comfortable and modern place. Excellent staff.

Rain shower, bunch of amenities, spacious room- slept so well on the big bed. The room had a balcony door opening to an internal terrace, it was literally silent, with the curtains closed it was totally dark. The staff were all friendly and attentive, since the room came with our Eurostar ticket, upon arrival we asked if there were any larger rooms and they showed us around to the different rooms so we could pick, so we picked a slightly more spacious superior room. Location wise, it's easy to find and central. About 10/15 min walk to Gare du Nord. Would easily come back to stay here again next time.
