Rooms are small but beside that everything including the services,the bar and the location is fine

Nice hotel, charming, nice staff, great bar with amazing cocktails, but small rooms and mainly : noise from the street and no air con (it was more than 30 degrees outside so the room was pretty hot (van in the room)! Avoid this place in summer time).
Breakfast very good, variety and gluten free bread available if you ask the day before (the reception should advise the clients upon arrival).
Situation: in a busy shopping area (hotel in small street aside, still a bit noisy though), super close to subway.

Lovely classic old hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff. Carpet/furnishings are a bit worn but the room was clean. Bar was a bit overpriced and does not serve food, just drinks. Would stay again!

This is great hotel. It's not a pricy one and it has showed to be a great experience. The rooms are big and the location possibly couldn't be better. The internet works perfectly and it's a very clean place. Finally, I couldn't say much about the breakfast because we didn't have it added to our stay.

Neulich hatte ich das Vergnügen, das Barfly's im Hotel Fürst Metternich zu Besuchen. Wir hatten den Abgang nicht gleich gefunden, aber ein sehr freundlicher Rezeptionist wies uns gleich den Weg. Das Service in der Bar war genau so großartig, wie die Drinks selbst. Hier versteht man noch das Barkeeper-Handwerk! Absolute Empfehlung.

Good location relative to the train station. Room was cosy and warm (winter).

Overall the hotel was neat and bed was excellent. What bothered me was that on two mornings I could smell breakfast on our third floor room. Hallway noise can also be heard quite clearly, especially when children of neighboring rooms were playing piano next to our bed wall.

Nice hotel with the old architecture still present. Not so warm in the winter. Near to the subway station, direct line to the city center. Great breakfast!

Dreadful old-fashioned hotel, lounge is like someones lounge at home, bar far too dark to use, needs some lights on. Overpriced. Air-conditioning was. A large standing fan.

Good for a quick visit. No airconditioning. Tough throughout warmer days.

The building is old and impressive inside and outside. The rooms are not so good, pretty old and not clean enough. Don't miss the whisky bar, one of the best in town!

Nice building. Very cool and old school. No AC which I suppose common but after a long flight I wish I had a cold room to sleep in.

NOT recommended for hot summer, as NO aircon is avaiable. There is no air exchang in the room, although with open window, super hot inside.

Ich werde kommenden März das zehnte Mal nach Wien fliegen und davon den neunten Aufenthalt im Fürst Metternich verbringen. Dieses Hotel ist traditionsreich und einfach grandios. Dank normaler Hausfassade ist es von außen auf den ersten Blick nicht als 3-Sterne-Hotel erkennbar. Innen jedoch versprüht es einen Charme, der zumindest mich nicht mehr losgelassen hat. Das Personal ist super nett, die Zimmer sauber und je nach Kategorie schön groß. Für mich typischer Wiener Flair. Das Frühstück ist mit 13 € pro Nase preislich zwar bissl happig (so viel kann ein Mensch gar nicht frühstücken), aber die Auswahl ist groß und es schmeckt gut (und zu meinem persönlichen Glück gibt's Meinl-Tee :o)). Die Lage könnte kaum besser sein. Die Straße hoch liegt die Mariahilfer Straße und es sind keine zwei Minuten Fußweg zur U-Bahn-Station. Von da kommt man ratzfatz einfach überall hin. Dieses Hotel lässt einen nichts vermissen und ich freue mich immer wieder darauf, meine Urlaub dort zu verbringen. Fazit: absolut empfehlenswert!!
