Looks a little tired on the outside, but is actually very good inside. Nicely decorated, clean and tidy. Reception was friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size with plenty of space for clothes. Also handy were the ironing facilities and hair dryer along with facility for hot refreshments
Good sized bath, but toilet space a bit cramped. Very clean and tidy with a large comfy bed. The breakfast was good value and very similar to other English hotels of this standard. One complaint, WiFi in the room was only accessible in the bathroom area and near the room door. Almost impossible to get a signal in any other part of the room. Even so, would still be happy to recommend this hotel for a short break.

Here every week with Slimming World group in the large function room. Our consultant gives us lots of encouragement and support.

Great time was had by all, had a fantastic meal. The rooms, and staff are second to none. Definitely go back for another stay.

Organised group stayed for a special event. Room very good, well equipped, comfortable bed. Located next to staircase so there was noise when other guests went to bed and talked in the corridor. Breakfast very good, but despite bacon etc being over flames they were not hot. Plates very hot - a bonus. Good parking area. Bar prices high in my opinion.

Nice, clean hotel in Kidderminster. Stopped off for 1 night and everything was perfect. Walked into the town centre which is straight down and took us only 20 minutes. Definitely stay here again if in the area. Reasonably priced, only negatives no lifts and television's are quite small.

Visited recently to watch the football, lounge area is perfect to have a quiet drink and to chill out! Staff are very polite and work with a smile on their faces! Enjoyable and relaxing evening, 5 stars from me!

Excellent service and very good rooms. Had the champagne package which was great got a standard bottle + chocolates. 3 course meal was delicious. Cannot pick one single fault

A good place to stay, there was no lift to the upper floors, bedroom was clean but overall I felt that it looked a bit dated

The carvery was good, though there were not a lot of options compared with other places. The staff always had a smile and it has quite an open space for comfort.

Good location for the Safari Park, room was nice enough but the sofa bed my children used wasn't very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, buffet style.

We visited tgere for a wedding reception. It was nice there but i dont knlw details about pricing and so on. Drinks were expensive as you would expect and we had a good evening as a guest

Rooms are clean and spacious, friendly staff,not the most disabled friendly although there is a stair lift up two floors we where accomadated on the third floor not the ideal but we managed 1 flight of stairs.
Could do with more than a noisey fan heater/tired aircon unit in the rooms, & more comfortable bedding.
As for breakfast finding it hard to get a positive.hot drinks tea or coffee only warm from a flask, full English not the best, again only warm.

Room very tidy, and breakfast is good, but has to be booked separately.
Food offered in the restaurant is excellent and not expensive.
Staff is friendly and professional, they help you with whatever wishes you may have.
So the hotel is exactly what you may expect for the price, good.

Nice staff, good value for money. Coffee at breakfast wasn't very nice but the food was fine. The bed was really comfy and I slept very well indeed.

Hotel ok a bit tired in our bedroom. Bathroom needs updating lack of drawers and not many hangers more suited to overnight stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful food average.

We've stopped at Gainsborough House twice now and really enjoyed it both times. All the staff are really friendly and the food is excellent. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is that there is no lift but if memory serves me right they can't install a lift due to it being a listed building. The location is great for local attractions including West Midland Safari Park and the Severn Valley Railway

Another great stay at the Gainsborough Hotel. In Kidderminster. It's become a home from home. All the staff are fantasic and there food is great. C u in september.

We had our civil wedding here on the 20th may 2017, their wedding co-ordinater gill is an asset to the hotel , she was absolutely fantastic and was with us from start to finish , nothing was too much trouble for her , we would recommend anyone getting married this is the place to be . Cheap break. Room was "okay". Fairly clean. Nice breakfast. Not really hear anything here.

Was there on a conference which they only provides a room with tea and coffee. The coffee was very expensive per person for the size of the cup and also they almost forgot about us in the afternoon

Room was used for a charity fundraiser - is large with large round tables, a small stage area, bar and toilets. The function room itself is provided free to charities.

No card payment facility in function room bar because the card machine wasn't working.

The men's toilets smelt absolutely disgusting - the most overpowering stench of urine I've ever experienced and this was from the beginning of the evening. The ladies were i am told clean.

Ordered a pint of Guinness which tasted vile. I returned it to the bar and explained its foul taste. The barman himself took a sip and agreed saying it was the end of the barrel. No refund or alternative drink was offered.

Lovely hotel. We've stayed several times. The rooms have all the facilities you need - TV, iron, ironing board, hair dryer etc. The breakfast is always fully stocked and high quality and the bar and reception staff are polite and extremely friendly.

Staff make it great. Hotel itself is very nice, though it could do with a few touch ups in places. Overall, the best hotel in Kidderminster

Waitress wasn't too pleased to split the bill between 10 people but food was alright, a bit pricey as expected for hotel restaurants

Stayed here a couple of times. I was impressed at the professionalism and genuine good nature of the staff.

The buffet breakfast was super, as was the meal in the evening. Great selection of drinks at the bar area, which feels homely with the decor.

Room clean and well maintained, nice to have a chair and table and a desk. Bathroom light and spotless. Buffet breakfast okay though the fresh fruit was a little old and though I don't eat it the bacon and sausage looked rather pale and was stacked in heated stainless steel pots. Carpark very uneven and steep. Hint don't park under the big tree where the birds roost!

Booked a large meal for a group and the meal was excellent, very generous portion sizes and great quality food (proper meat), plenty of staff which made the service very fast and efficient. All the staff were very friendly and caring.

Me & My Husband got Married at The Gainsborough in December 2012. We have to say that it was The most Perfect day we could of asked for! The staff at the hotel were amazing, nothing we asked for was to much trouble. Me & my Bridesmaids arrived the night before, the room we stayed in was modern, clean & had Hot Chocolate! (I'm a sucker when it come to chocolate!) We all had a great nights sleep & Breakfast was Fab! Full English Breakfast Buffet & could ask if we wanted something different.
We moved to the Bridal suite to get ready ready & It was lovely. Our Wedding Co-ordinator Viv was great, ran me through the day's details & put my mind at ease (I'm fussy to say the least).
The Civil Ceremony went perfectly & while we were having our pictures done outside, they staff efficiently made the room up ready for Our Wedding breakfast. There was a small area for pictures outside, which wasn't a problem as after the group pics, we has a quick walk around to the park (literally 10 seconds away) to have some more private & personal photos, best of both worlds! The staff even made sure no-one parked right outside the hotel so we could use the front for group photos & have nice pictures of the hotel.
While waiting for the room turn around we used the bar area, which was great, it was big enough for all our guests, yet intimate so everyone mingled together.
The suite we had Our ceremony & reception in was Lovely, it was big & had lots of Character!
The food was fantastic & all our guests couldn't fault it, there was even extra's being handed out! You could tell it was all homemade & the portion size was generous! For the Evening we had a Curry buffet, which yet again was great! exactly what we asked for.
We just wanted to say a huge Thank you to the Manager Danny & all his Staff for helping to make Our day Perfect! I would Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a fantastic Wedding & stay!
