Careful where you park! Otherwise great

Standard Ibis hotel. Friendly staff. Parking on site (for 7€). Breakfast is good with own waffle maker.

Super clean room...tip...book the 3 bed room for a few Euro's more and you get a double sized room.

Summary: convenient location and clean hotel, but small rooms and outdated heating and lighting.

When I booked this hotel, I had two rooms, with one for a couple with a toddler. For some reason, the booking system would not let me have a regular sized room with the toddler, only a more expensive suite. Upon arriving and seeing the tiny size of my regular room, I understand that this must be because it would be impossible to fit a baby bed in the regular room.

The hotel was clean, and in a convenient location next to many restaurants and the train station.

Parking was ample, but maybe we just arrived early, as when we left in the morning every space was taken in the car park. I imagine if you arrive late at night you might have to find somewhere else to park.

The receptionist spoke perfect English and was very friendly. However, she told us that the kitchen would be open until 10pm, but when we tried to order food she said that it wouldn't be possible as she was the only person working as it was holiday season.

To be short staffed (only 1 staff member) on the 29th December seems strange. It is after Christmas and not yet new year.

My main bug bear with this hotel is the bathroom. This was the same in both the regular and suite rooms. I don't expect the bathroom to be massive, but a minimum standard is to be able to sit on the toilet without having to raise one arm up and rest it on the sink. I literally couldn't fit myself in the small space between the sink and the wall with both of my arms by my sides.

The other issue is the heating. This is a hot air fan that is attached to the wall. No main system or central heating. This made the air in the room extremely dry, and I woke up with a sore throat.

The final thing is the lighting in the rooms. The best way to describe this is American. Small lights in the corners without any main light. My wife actually thought we only had a bedside lamp turned on and asked me to turn on all the lights - but they already were on!

First rate City centre hotel. We had a studio room on the top floor (7th) it was large. Only downside was the toilet that was really small and combined with the shower. Breakfast was ample with cooked hot food and a cold buffet. Lashings of coffee and fruit juices. I recommend this establishment unreservedly.

As good as any budget ibis hotel. Room as usual, toilet clean, bed comfortable.

Great location just outside Bochum HBF however tiny rooms and tinier bathrooms don't leave a good impression... Plus no room service and limited late night food options in the restaurant.

Clean and warm room, not very spacey but really OK. The proximity to the train station and the center of the city is on it's pros

Small Room, extrem small bathroom but good breakfast

Comfortable beds, small rooms but standard size for ibis. Have to pay for parking. Short walk I to city centre.

Rooms were very small but the location next to railway station was the added benefit. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was fine. Good and Clean room. Relatively cheap price. Door locks (cards) are super moody.

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer sind sehr sauber und das Beste ist das super Frühstück.

Rooms are clean but I have never seen so small rooms in any hotel. Bathroom have like 3 m2 We changed for other hotel

I have stayed here during my visit to a conference. The hotel is well maintained and near to the city centre and most places in the city. The best thing about the hotel is that it is right beside the main train station.

I have requested for an electric kettle in my room. The hotel has not provided any information regarding the availability of it either before or upon check-in. Some information about it would have been good.

Had a room next to the elevator which was really loud, shook my bed all night.

Die Zimmer sind zwar sehr sauber aber extrem eng sowie nicht Schallgeschützt. Wir hörten jedes Wort das im Nachbarzimmer/Flur gesprochen wurde. Egal wie leise es auch war. Von außen ist es eine Katastrophe eben so das Umfeld. Sehr nettes Personal.

It's a nice hotel in a very convenient location. They have a good breakfast buffet. The rooms are just a bit small.

Service is very good. Ibis are a good budget chain but downside to this hotel is that rooms at front are noise did to bus stops outside property, so ask for room at back of hotel.
