The hotel has a beautiful reception with really lovely staff, especially Franco B, at the reception who was the best, extremely polite and friendly to us during our vacation, he even helped us locate our transfer that was running behind schedule to get to the airport. After seeing the difference between balcony view and sea view we paid for an upgrade, which was totally worth it for the view. We stayed here for 5 days on B&B board, there was a decent selection for breakfast, and we chose one night to have dinner in the hotel which we paid extra for. The choice for dinner wasn't to my taste, but there was one chef who was kind enough to make an extra dish for myself. Considering it was a buffet they should have had more white meat and vegetarian options. Our rooms were also neat and tidy, the only issue was our mini fridge/freezer wasn't working and although it is meant to be a 'cooler' there was freezer was deicing and left a puddle of water and this only got resolved towards the end of our stay. The hotel also recommended us places to exchange money, gave us directions to get to different locations. This hotel is located in a great place, not too far to walk to the bus station and has a shallow flat rock sea front. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the elevators broke down occasionally, and as we were on the 7th floor we had to wait quite a bit for the lift, the fridge issue and for a bit more variety for those who do not eat red meat. Other than this I would always recommend this hotel to my friends, not only is it affordable but its fun to see the entertainment from the balcony.

I'm currently staying at this hotel in mid August The hotel staff have all been reasonably polite and will try to help as much as possible
Some may say the hotel is a little out-dated but for the cheap price the rooms have everything needed including a fridge and a balcony
The food is amazing with a lot of rarity. There is traditional Maltese dishes as well as British dishes
Burgers and other fast food isn't served in the all inclusive dinner or lunch
The breakfast is good with English and continental .
A lot of reviews currently on here complain about not having sand on the beach but I feel as though this isn't the hotels fault and if someone was to complain about this shouldn't come to Malta due to the lack of sand and they should go to Spain or other sandy places
The air conditioning in the room only comes on if the balcony door is shut
The hotel it's self has A lot of people as it's a large hotel with 100s of rooms
The pool can sometimes be crowed but can be expected In the summer
The hotel can aarange taxis for you
Please be aware of touts who stand on the sea front and busy places offering you items such as free bus passes or bottle of wine if you come to a hotel with them this is a scam into conning you out of money
Please note Qawra palace has nothing to do with the scam it's just a warning

What can I say definitely 1 of the better places to stay in Malta.. Our room was very up to date the food was lovely and not to expensive.. IV not given 5 stars because the elevators where not always working and people placing their towels on sun loungers and not there for the day was not enforced. Myself and my girlfriend decided to pay 10 euro for the 1s near the water which was a great addition to the hotel.. All and all good hotel and will be back next year.

Just as you would expect, no real niggles at all! Great easy access to sea, (no sand!) Good for snorkeling. Would recommend this hotel.

Rooms at front of hotel (sea view) are the ones to go for, avoid rooms in middle as they are full of students.
Hotel was clean and food was pretty good, however the entertainment is shocking. If you are over 70 and love being sent to sleep by the band's they have on then great. If you have kids or a heartbeat then don't expect to be entertained! All inclusive snacks around the pool are good and drinks selection is good.

Pool is small but just about adequate, sea is right next to the pool so can always jump in there for a swim.

To summarise, clean hotel in good location, shocking entertainment and hotel half full of students hanging around in big groups.

Would not visit again.

Spent a week here on Malta for the first time. Hotel clean and comfortable with good amenities and in a great location right on the beach. Sadly, no sand but water accessible by ladders and low rocks.Had a massage in the spa which was very good and reasonable priced. Lovely large pool area with bar and snack bar - mostly fast food. We were on a B and B basis and the food wasn't wonderful.Quite a few of the sun loungers round the pool were damaged and should be replaced.Coffee shop is excellent - Art Deco style and they do a great range of well priced snacks and it is open till 1am. Evening entertainment is a bit hit and miss but pleasing all of the people all of the time is impossible anyway. The local buses and hop on buses hop off go right by the front door. Local buses are cheap and plentiful. Traffic is heavy in places and the standard of driving leaves a lot to be desired - not for the faint hearted!
Only major criticism - reception staff are unfriendly and unhelpful - a comment made by several other guests I spoke with. Having worked as a hotel receptionist myself and other jobs involving customer care - I was not impressed at all. Dining room staff were just as bad which is a shame as the hotel is very nice otherwise.

Check in ok, room allocated damp, mouldy and smelly (224). Spoke to reception staff who immediately offered alternative room, much better. Attention to detail needed with cleaning - shower head, glass shelf in room and shelf above hanging space thick with dust, as is ridged tile round public toilets ground floor. Beds clean and comfy, food only ok and confusing at times as what on offer didn't match menu. Unlikely to be back.

Have stayed at Qawara Palace over the past 20 years, Great rooms for a couple or family. Very disappointed when we invited our daughter in October 2017 - as a single person (who paid more than a couple for a room) shed was placed in a room on the ground floor - R160 - dark dingy room with no natural light, with windows facing a brick wall, you have put the light on when in the room. After complaining she was moved to the 8th floor in a bright airy room with 3 single beds and a balcony.

Hotel decor is really nice, staff are friendly but seem to be overworked, when they are really busy it can seem like they are being rude towards you. Hotel in general is quiet, my room was facing the courtyard so nothing to really see I would suggest upgrading to a sea view room. Stayed here on a half board basis and there was a varied menu at meal times with something for everyone. The majority of guests here are older I would say within there 50s I'm 27 and the evening entertainment was more suited for the older guests. Overall a good hotel in a not so good area.

Decent quality Hotel with all the basics but nothing more. Hotel rooms could do with sprucing up.
Not a great deal of choice for vegetarians but ample food otherwise. Buffet breakfast is really good. Hotel staff are friendly. The hotel is located in a really good location with a bus stop on the front door. The public bus services to all parts of the Island are reasonably cheap and very regular. The QP Hotel is situated in a reasonably central part of Malta which allow access to all parts of the Island as well as Gozo and Commino.
Lack of tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
Would we stay here again? Yes.

Good hotel for the price.
WiFi only in the lobby which is a bit sad as most hotels now offer free WiFi.
The find is ok but often meat is chicken is quite dry and slightly overcooked. Drinks is never included in dinner and this you have to buy separately.
Room is spacious and the hotel bar is cheap however you can get stuff cheaper just a street or two away(standard).
Good pool and sun bathing opportunities.

My first time in Malta loved it, The hotel was ok, I upgraded to all inclusive as I thought it would be better, Well, not a great choice at meal time, I asked for a safe key had to pay 11 euros for a safe that is already in my room, Gives a kettle and cups but no compliments, The cleaning staff are great ,friendly and always smiling.Pool is ok, Night time, my god, same songs all week, It seems catered for the locals for the first 3 hours as they take up the dance floor and bring their own drinks in. The staff could smile abit more. The bar inside is only open at meal times would be nice to sit inside and have a drink but not that bothered. The tables outside could do with a clean in the morning, but all in all a good stay, would go back to Malta but to a different hotel

My 2nd time visiting Qawra Palace hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly. Food is generally good, especially the breakfasts. Great location in terms of access to open water and to local shops, amenities and other places to eat. Wifi isn't spectacular, but I am yet to find a location in Malta that offers anything close to what I get at home. The sea facing rooms get a spectacular view of the sunrise if you're up early enough, which I recommend doing at least once. The coffee & cake shop on-site is superb, and the cakes themselves are absolutely spot-on. I would probably stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

I arrived here in the morning there were still staff and the place looked quite good, I went in my room and it was decent as I got a nice room and not a courtyard room which was ugly. Anyway at night I decided to have some tea but there weren't any teasbags so I went down stairs to the reception and the lady started talking to me with attitude and said well it's not here until 7 in the morning and started laughing at me meanly, this is the first day of my holiday which will last for 2 weeks, I hope it improves!

Very nice hotel with nice staff and amenities located very close to the sea with the small beach and the swimming pool, with a pool bar alongside.
Good for walks along the promenade where you can walk for five to six miles either way and still on the flat ground.
All in all a good short break holiday with fantastic food and lots of choice but the best thing is the vast array of cakes and sweet pastries.
The only thing I could have said against the hotel which wasn't really their fault was the New Road that was dug up during the night and then replaced the following two to three nights of our stay.
We were really annoyed at the fact that we were not advised that the would-be major roadworks going on right outside of the hotel and through the night via the travel operator.
I have since found out that the new road surface was on the chords for three to four years and was been done due to the new local elections
Many thanks Malta

I have been to Malta before but always stayed in Silema .This break was on a 7 days half board basis. Overall the hotel was good. Bedroom (with kettle and cups) and bathrooms were clean. Restaurant was always busy with a good choice of starter, main meal and sweet etc (NO DRINKS unless paid for). The food was satisfactory, not good, not bad either. Staff on in the main were pleasant.

Great value and good position overlooking the bay, and a short drive to most of the island's attractions. Just spent 12 nights here over New Year, half board, for roughly the same cost of an equivalent three night stay in the UK with the same standard of food (but without the sun). Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. There are both positives and negatives to take account of. The hotel has been refurbished recently and the public areas are very smart, especially the lobby, lounge and reception. The dining room is less so but OK. The indoor pool and Jacuzzis are dark, not all that warm and not at all welcoming. No extra towels or lockers. The outdoor pool and sunbathing areas look much better but given the time of year we didn't use them. The rooms are clean, very well serviced with regular towel change and one change of bedding during our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Erica who serviced our room. The rooms themselves are relatively basic Mediterranean style, though quite large with balcony and decent sized en-suite. A fair number of rooms face into an internal courtyard and therefore are overlooked and not attractive for sitting out. Sea view rooms would be better, but would probably incur a higher charge. Parking is relatively easy in the surrounding streets or, I guess, in summer peak times there is a large car park along the promenade about a quarter of a mile away. Wifi is free but very variable and available in the lobby only - slow to non-existent at times, maybe down to the sheer volume of people trying to use it. Otherwise there is a relatively expensive in-room option, which along with the indoor pool, I would rate as the most disappointing features of the hotel. In summary, I would definitely recommend this hotel for budget conscious older couples or singles who don't expect 5 star accommodation, for anyone looking for a longer winter stay, for younger couples or families who have their own transport, and for anyone who is looking for good value in a comfortable hotel they can use as a base to explore this fascinating island. Regardless of the drawbacks, this hotel was great value with a staff who worked very hard to make the holiday period enjoyable.

We were there in april this year 2016
There was no room at the inn when we got there at 9.45pm
After breakfast at the put us up Hotel ,whice was very nice
Back at ours and still no room ,hours wasted .Got room at back
bed solid wood ,matters thin.Thank God we spent very little time
in the room. Had to buy tea, coffee, sugar, funny ,you get given cups
and kettle. No pool towels, have to pay for old mattress for your sun
lounger. We travel alot, but our laundry from the room went missing,
never happened before.Must say it was dealt with.So yes ,staff and
manager Tony very helpfull .Food ,yes ,nice and plenty of it .Also they
keep every where nice and clean, after all ,wages are poor.Although
the incident put a damper on our last days of our holiday, we can say
we made the most of our time in sunny Malta.

We stayed in September 2015.

Sorry its so long but you really need to pay attention to detail, a good hotel going downhill rapidly, we did not enjoy our stay here this time, could not wait to go home, not all your fault the buses were a big letdown this time.

The only friendly staff was our maid who was lovely.

We stayed here 4 years ago and it was not as bad as this.

Menus really need to be reviewed.

Receptionists need to smile and be nice to guests, and be more helpful, very bad customer service.
Witnessed poor disability service, instead of somebody in a wheelchair having to find a table to sit at each time, why could you not reserve a table which has easy access for them for every meal instead of trying to find a place that would take a wheelchair.

Very poor waiter service, especially from one of the boss’s son. Not enough staff, tables not re-laid, you always had to ask for it to be laid., When cleaning tables, the crumbs are brushed onto your chair. All tables are only wiped with the same cloth, and never sprayed with anything.

Chairs need to be pushed under table when leaving table, as it is an overcrowed restaurant, and guests have trouble getting to their own table.

Food poor and cold, only certain foods labelled, had to keep asking what it was, on both hot and cold food. Toasters need renewing desperately. Hot glasses for cold juice. Coffee machines always breaking down,a balanced bowl for drip tray with hot liquid on, and accident waiting to happen.
Cold plates for hot meals and plates for soup to hot to carry. Desperately short of crockery and cutlery. Soup and large serving spoons for cerial, come one.

Only 7th & 8th floor with new bathrooms, at the moment, these need to be looked at though, walk in shower, water ends up on floor and not in shower tray, shower handle needs to be moved a few inches to be able to hold it whilst in shower. Love the new washing line in bathroom, very good idea.
New beds on 7th and 8th floor are far better that the old wooden beds.
One tip I would do in the bedroom is to turn the mirror lengthways by the TV, that way it makes the room larger, and two people could use it at the same time.

Toilets on ground floor need to have the doors closed, and not left open for everybody to look in when walking past.

I prefer the 8th floor as you are not affected by guests scraping chairs, suitcases etc above you, especially in he middle of the night when arriving and leaving for their flight, as not everybody is considerate about the floor below.

Signs to save water need to be in bathroom not on the bedroom table.

A sign in lifts to say be considerate when leaving and entering your room, consider other guests.
Lifts desperately need looking at, 1 broke down 3 times in 1 week. Watch your step on 8th floor as you have to step up out of lift. 1 door on 1 lift watch out as it is bent and children could trap their hand in it.
Dining room needs a full refurb when this hotel closes in October, towels on floor under counter, and under air con, very unhygienic, and it is very drab looking. Light bulbs gone and not replaced, broken glass lampshades.

A guide book needs to be in the room to explain how the meal and drinks system and work as some guests were waiting for table service.

Just wondering how much the prices will go up after the refurbishment, looking forward to reviews next year.

Think a manager should go in as a guest, stay in one of the new rooms and test it out before you do the entire hotel out.

Sorry to go on but I love Malta and the location of this hotel and hope to return again in a couple of years.

This is quite a tired hotel in need of much refurbishing. However, the staff are friendly and helpful - except when it comes to problems with their webmaster. Its a strange system of having to enter both username and password every time one goes online. Then we're expected to sign out at the end of our session to ensure that our paid-for time online is not wasted. RE DINING in this hotel, trays are not made available so we're expected to juggle our soup, salad and mains all at the same time. Also we have to get our own drinks from the bar outside and bring same into the dining room. The coffee bar is both a delight as well as very cheap and good quality. Having Mass in the hotel twice a week is very novel and beneficial for those of us with a faith tradition.
