Lovely, friendly staff. VERY close to the airport, so close the jet thrust is heard in your room! A funny strange smell was noticed at the car rental location, then noticed again at the hotel. Sewage? Trash? In googling the area it was discovered a recycling center is VERY close to the hotel. It's an older hotel but kept clean with the exception of the dried booger on the wall!

This is my second stay at this hotel, and I was impressed again. Each time, I've stayed for 3-4 nights, and everything has been very good each time. The pool and fitness center are often unused, so it was nice to have them to myself several times! The hotel is clean, the staff was very helpful, the beds are very comfortable, the location is convenient, and the free internet was fast enough. I'll stay again in the future.

This was our second time staying here. The rooms are always clean and tidy. There breakfast in very good.The part that really makes it earn a five star rating is the staff. Everyone is very friendly and professional. They all seemed genuinely happy to help in any way and I was traveling with a toddler so I'm not the lowest maintenance guest.

I would definitely recommend to anyone needing somewhere in the area.

We (mom and three children aged 2-9) stayed overnight before an early flight. The hotel was very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. Pool area was clean but a little dark - still plenty of fun! We needed to catch the 4am shuttle to the airport. Check-in and out was a breeze! The shuttle was on time with an alert driver who helped with our bags and was in a good mood for that early hour! Shuttle took less than 10 minutes to get to the airport. We would definitely recommend the location to others.

I have mixed feelings about the Detroit metro airport Marriott. Nothing about my stay has been bad, but nothing has been stand out or exceptional either. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff has been friendly and professional. I think it's the hotel itself meaning the building that's off putting. It seems quite cramped and tight. Would I stay here again, yes. But only for a one or two night stay.

A great location that offers a shuttle service to the airport on a set schedule. The food is delicious and not the typical Marriott hotel fare. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with a nice sized bathroom and good sized bed room.

Chose because of convenient location and pricing. Large bar downstairs and helpful staff. Pool and kinda gnarly hot tub. Room and bathroom were great.

Clean, spacious, bright terminals. Lots of dining options, lots of retail outlets, but located in a way that is easily accessible, but travelers are not made to go through them like on many other international airports.
Gate areas are easy to find, most of them have lots of seating and both terminals are very easy to navigate.
Great connection hub.

Hey Marriott... heard you upgraded. But you ain’t got no USB ports in the room? Man, I missed the 90s... so glad to be back. What’s the AOL dial-up pw? Can I get an adapter? Oh I can leave my ID at the bar for a charging device? Cool. Ladies at the front desk were great though.

Very nice place bar and lounge servers were great. Some front desk and breakfast could have been friendlier, still good overall.

Hotel is fine, breakfast option are not very good. When i arrived tl the room after checking in I noticed the room was not cleaned correctly, outside the room there was a plante with food and in the bathroom there was no soap, also after the first night there I noticed some food dirt in the bed sheets which was not pleasant. In the room you can hear the noise of the highway. Other than those everything was nice.

Very close to airport. Great shuttle service. Restaurant has delicious food (I had cajun chicken pasta) Room was clean and staff was more then welcoming. Breakfast was pretty good too!

Great hotel, I'd give them 5* if they put towels in the gym and improved on the windows (they're okay so you get some highway noise). Otherwise it's great!

The check-in process was easy. The room was comfortable and appeared clean. Most of the staff was very friendly. Check out was super quick. I would stay here again. I would recommend to others in need of overnight accommodations.

There was an odd odor throughout the hotel but it may have simply been stuffy due to the continuous rain for a couple days.

Great service and customer service. Booked the room after the pistons sixes game. The room and keys were waiting for me when I arrived. The three young ladies were excellent (Renee, deja, can't remember the last lady). We talked about the Detroit sport teams. I will always stay here when I come to Detroit

I am a gold member and stay frequently at this hotel. Herb, the shuttle driver, deserves specialrecognition for going out of his way for me. He drove me to CVS. He was friendly and did everyrthing he could to help me replace a prescription I had left at home. Out of all of the Marriott's, Herb' s by far one of the best employees I have been privileged to meet.

The room was what I expect from a Marriott, comfortable and clean. The fitness center was very nice, we really enjoyed the treadmills. The pool was nice, but the hot tub was scalding hot.

Very nice hotel.. beds and pillows are very comfortable.. has indoor swimming pool, a bar and lounge, room service, shuttles to and from the airport, and a few other perks.. could use some updates to the bathrooms, and offer a better selection of channels on the TV.. but otherwise a nice hotel.

The menu was small.the food was good, but pricey. It was very clean and the soup was extremely good. The other portions were small.

Great place to stay. Easy, friendly check-in. Nice room, comfy bed with lots of pillows. Restaurant staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was ok, but not great. Check-out was very quick and the shuttle to the airport was convenient and the driver was especially accommodating.

This Marriott is located just off the Merriman rd exit on the I-94 access ramp. Fairly easy to get to from east or west on I-94. It's on the opposite side of the freeway from DTW so it's a little quieter than if it were on the same side. The rooms were typical of Marriott hotels, a little nicer than some of the more "budget" hotels nearby. Friendly staff.

The location of the hotel was very close to the airport. The rooms were average and the food was actually decent. I would stay there again.

Start with an excellent location. Add impeccable service and a well appointed property and one gets a favorite choice when in the area. I stay a lot and have never had a bad experience.

This was such a great event! I loved every moment honestly! The wait staff was very professional and friendly. The hotel honest is just very classy, makes you feel like something special!

The hotel was fine. We just had some very loud kids in a room next to us with no adult supervision. We called the desk 3 times to complain....

Our stay has been wonderful, the staff was very nice and friendly! I loved our housekeeper, she was very kind and nice, she reminded me of my grandma, making sure we had everything we needed. The location of this hotel is very convenient, close to the highway and right by the airport. They have a shuttle bus that can take you around within a 2 mile radius. This hotel had a great bar/restaurant, they also have an indoor pool with hot tub, the beds are comfortable especially the pillows, you even have a small refrigerator in your mom, everything you need in a hotel they have!

Disappointing for Marriott - broken transportation van for wheelchair lift; room was tiny.

Easy to get to. The staff is super nice, and welcoming. Rooms show a little age, but all in all they are nice. The bar/restaurant is epic.

Comfortable, quiet, clean rooms, but safety was a concern. They say that people tend remember the most recent thing, or last impressions, first when they recall an experience. This seems to be true in my case. While the hotel was outstanding and my stay was very comfortable, quiet and rooms very clean for the 3 days I stayed, I can not shake the uneasiness of my last impression of the parking lot and how someone else's stay went so horribly wrong when their wheels on their car were stolen. It doesn't matter how much effort you put forth in making your patrons comfortable on the inside of your establishment when its all for naught if you can't ensure their peace of mind in your lot not 50' from the main entrance. Had I known how unsafe the lot was, I would not have allowed my wife to go without an escort. Granted, crime happens anywhere, but something like this seems pretty easy to dieter which is unfortunate, to say the least. If anyone plans to park in the lot, let it be known that you do so at your own risk.

Nice folks running the hotel. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Housekeeping was a bit spotty, as some things like in-room coffee and would get replaced some days and some days not. It's not a bad hotel.

Delta terminal is modern and nice. North terminal is ok. The parking can be confusing sometimes and you may have to backtrack if you miss a turn. Definitely not the worst airport ever been to.

Convenient location near DTW airport. Quick overnight stay - only there for less than 8 hours. The ice machine on my floor was not working and my room was VERY far from the elevator. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Did not have the chance to use any of the amenities on this stay, but will certainly consider this hotel for my next trip to the area.

There for a conference. Everything with smooth during the day but later in the night the bar refused to serve a group of us because we ordered a bunch of cups of water. It was finally worked out but by that time over half the group left.

Nice hotel, and very clean rooms. The front desk personnel were warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Getting a shuttle pickup from the airport was a mess, though. We ended up waiting at the shuttle stop for 40 minutes, and every time we called for a status we received a different answer on where the shuttle was.

The beds are awesome! The biggest and probablly the only complaint I have is that any time a plane lands, it is so incredibly loud. The rooms are clean and the heat works well.

Location and food were acceptable but the room had no heat. It was freezing during the entire conference.

Beautiful hotel lobby. Nice restaurant. Comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Only down-side is their location is a bit isolated from anything except the airport. Hotel shuttle will take you to two nearby restaurants. Otherwise, fifteen minutes to theaters or malls. Uber does serve the area.

Good location, very wide room, internet is limited on speed unless you pay for speed up. just the price is double than similar ones far from Airport of course.

Everything was very nice. Lot's of tv's to see news and sports. Pricey, but staff was friendly. Only thing was someone cleaning and organizing dishes or something there on the side that was distracting.

Set up A/V equipment in for meeting rooms. Staff was friendly and professional, and meet my needs perfectly. Despite not paying for their A/V services, the hotel provided us with extension cables, power steps, and projector stand. Overall, a good experience.

This Marriott is in need of a deep cleaning and updating in the rooms. It was exceedingly humid in the room, morning, noon, and night. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, which likely contributed to the humidity elsewhere. Extra attention needs to be given to common areas, and the bathrooms in particular. On two separate occasions, the soap dispensers in the restrooms outside of the conference rooms were empty. The staff working the breakfast buffet and restaurant were not friendly or helpful. Fortunately, the rooms were quiet, the food service during our conference was good, the grounds were well-maintained, and the courtyard made for a lovely reprieve from the day's activities.

The staff was so nice and the food in the restaurant was much better than you'd expect from a hotel kitchen. Some melted ice in the ice bucket kept this from being 5 stars. It was a wonderful one-night stay!

Hotel is nice, restaurant inside is great, the only complaint is the "free" wifi and the TV

Stayed on the first floor. The room was comfortable though the restroom was freezing as the heater wad in the window only and could not reach it. The breakfast was fairly good and the coffee was great. I attended a meeting in the ballroom which was a good space for this.

I had a second floor room overlooking a little courtyard and the pool windows. The bed was comfortable and the staff were nice enough. They provided two cribs for my young children, which I appreciated. But they didn't give me any blankets for the cribs, only to deliver one blanket couple hours later, after the kids fell asleep. The bathroom was a bit dirty also. The grout and caulk in the tub/shower could use cleaning with a bleach. The hotel was marketed to me as a 4 star hotel and the lobby looks nice but given the tub / tile grout mold in the bathroom, I'd say more like 3 stars.

Convenient Shuttle Bus to Airport and Nice Indoor Heated Pool

We stayed at this hotel on our way home from Asia (one stop at Detroit)
They provided convenient shuttle bus to and from airport. The bus drivers were very friendly.
Check in was nice and smooth. They had cookies and coffee in the lobby at check in time. The room was nice and comfortable. Though slightly dated in some areas but it seemed to be a very typical Marriott décor and some updated features such as a large flat panel TV. Free in room Wi-Fi was also a standard amenity and the signal was fast and reliable.
Nice heated indoor heated swinging pool and spa. While there seemed to have some events going on in the hotel, the pool area was empty, so we could relax and enjoy the nice spa and pool.
After we got home, the credit card showed that the hotel had charged us $2- we had traveled worldwide and it had never happen before, we have no idea why they charged us the $2 and it seemed silly to call the credit card company just for the 2 dollar charge but it definitely diminished how we felt about this hotel. They got a 4 star instead of 5 just because of this.
Overall, we do like the hotel for its convenient shuttle bus to and from the airport, comfortable room, and the pool. Definitely won’t mind one stop at Detroit again at all.
