Great place but bar is the weak part in this hotel.

Very good hotel on all fronts. We had a very nice room for the 3 of us. There was a great breakfast buffet each morning. Rooms were clean and great service overall.

We went to the hotel restaurant after a visit to the zoo today (3 adults and 3 under 3 year old children). The children's menu was great, as was the general menu. We were able to enjoy a delicious meal while the children happily played in the children's corner. The staff were really helpful and friendly too!

Nice touch with the different themes on each level of the hotel. Very clean room and bathroom. We were slightly disappointed that the king bed was in fact two twin beds pushed together. Good food in the restaurant and the staff are all service minded and very polite! Recommended.

Absolutely wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was neatly placed, well organized, and delicious. The staff was super friendly, and helpful with any questions or concerns. We are definitely planning to stay with them again for another trip.

Idealer Standort, Zoo 3 Minuten entfernt, direkter Anschluss an die Autobahn. Zimmer sauber und gross. Fruehstuecksbuffet reichhaltig. Personal ist kompetent und freundlich.

Die Aufmachung und das Interieur sind schön. Im Vorwege der dort stattfindenden Sitzung wurde Fingerfood und Softdrinks gereicht. Das Brett für das Brot blieb verwaist, die Softdrinks kamen viel zu spät. Service so lala.

Just next to zoo. All interior decoration is more like in wild with animals. Nice service and cozy room.

Like a themed Hotel at Disney Europe, just not as good…

The hotel is located right next to the Hamburg Zoo, which is quite a way outside the city center.
Underground Station is close by, providing fast service to the city.

Check-in procedures for me and my colleague, where executed quickly, probably as we were the only ones there trying to check-in

All the Rooms in this Hotel are themed; mine was on the “Asia” themed floor, making the whole place look like one of them themed hotels of EuroDisney.

I am sure that it’s great for families with kids, but I just could not see the real value in that. Mind you, if they would have been consequent in seeing this through, they would have used more authentic or better quality props, instead of those rather cheap feeling re-makes, leaving me with the feeling of being in a ow budget movie.

But that is personal taste and, obviously, everybody’s is different

The Room themselves had well working air-condition and a large LED Interactive TV Set. All amenities where foreseen, except any coffee or tea making facilities, but therefore including a minibar, stocked very sparsely with extra small bottles of soft drinks and a beer, all at commonly high Minibar prices.

The 4 Euro price tag for the “Welcome drink” bottle of Mineral water was also way over the top, but seem to be a typical thing to do, found often in German Hotels. As is this habit to have only “crawls speed” Wi-Fi for free, whilst charging extra for Wi-Fi at halfway decent speeds.
Not very business customer minded.

The rest of the Room, including the bathroom, that sports a “rainfall” shower, is pretty much standard for a Hotel of this category and can’t be faulted. The Bed was nice and of good size with an excellent matrass.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the staff of this Hotel.

Whilst, of course, there where exceptions, but generally speaking the staff came over as uninterested at best, to outright rude!

Starting with the male staff member of the front desk to the Head Waitress of the Restaurant, attitude seemed to be a problem.

When, at 18:00, we decided to frequent the bar for a pre-diner aperitif, we sat for more than 15 minutes without anybody available to serve. Only upon having enquired at the front desk as to verify that the bar was actually open, somebody did come to take our orders.

Even then it took us another 15 Minutes to get a simple Gin Tonic, as nothing had been prepped, something which was done as we sat at the bar, not being able to understand each other’s words due to the racket the rather noisy ice crushing machine made.

When we decided to make our way to the quite large Restaurant for our dinner reservation, we were greeted by the Head Waitress, expecting to be shown to the table that was reserved for us.
Instead, she pointed towards the area at the windows in the near completely empty restaurant, instructing us to choose any of the plenty free tables.

When, due to us being worried that there would be too much of a draft from the Windows, we took a table towards the centre of the near empty place, she made it very obvious to us, that she was not happy with our choice. Subsequently we noticed that, despite it only being the start of the dinner service, most tables had been already set for the next morning breakfast service.
Not what you expect from an establishment that wishes to be in this class.

It has to be said, that the food was of very good quality and the presentation was excellent. Full marks for the chef and his team!

The Breakfast Buffet, which was charged separately at 20 Euro per head, was well stocked with a quite large variety of products and the Waitress staff was very friendly.

In closing, I can say that the hotel itself is fine and, if you like this themed kind of rooms, you will love them. The staff however needs some to seriously update their attitudes towards customers and, strangely enough, the staff that are clearly non-German Nationals working there are fine, competent and friendly.

The bedroom and bathroom were great including the big bed which is essential for roller sleeper like me :) . the complementary coffee capsules machine is great for a coffee lover like me , therefore was too much appreciated . the staff members are very friendly , willing and able to solve problems professionally . the reception team members are very professional and they love and highly dedicated to their job . they were able to describe addresses and means of transportation professionally during several occasions which went successfully , with perfect result of reaching all required destination safely , check in and check out have been conducted perfectly and professionally , the housekeeping and the room service team are fulfilling requests professionally in no time , all hotel team members are smiling and greeting guests all the time together with maintaining good eye contact during all communication with guests . staff are generally very polite , highly etiquette oriented staff members . I was impressed and enjoyed my stay a lot mainly due to the professional treatment I have received from all staff members during my stay . I am looking forward to coming back again ISA !

Good, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, unique decor and very good breakfast. Overall this is an excellent choice for one night or many. It is only a 5 min walk from a U-bahn station, and from there less than 15 min from the heart of Hamburg.

Great room, nice atmosphere and close to public transport. One drawback was the fact that for one whole week there was no working WiFi. Being in Hamburg for business this hampered my efficiency a lot not talking about the extra cost for me as a foreigner using German data/4G.

I would recommend the hotel for the hotel itself but it needs to up its game to stay relevant for business travellers.

Right next to the U bhan station. Good staff. Very well kept. Fast internet. Quiet place. A bit pricey.

Nice Theme-Hotel. Every floor and its rooms has an own theme. (Like Asia, Africa etc.) Rooms are a bit small but clean and functional. Beds are ok. No Queen or King-size beds, just 2x90cm pushed together in all the rooms. Nice bath with bathtub. Not very functional for showering, but ok. Breakfast is very rich and good. Fresh made Omlette, fruits, cold cuts etc. All you need to start your day :)

The room was ok - another placement of furniture and use of decor could easily improve it (I did not care for the big empty corner in my room). Breakfast and level of service was good. The restaurant is situated rigth in the middle, and was used for a big party one night, with loud music heard troughout the entire hotel until 01:30. With that placement of the restaurant, the hotel should keep the volume down or at least warn the guests - those who preferred to sleep could then have booked another hotel.

Hotel is located only a few minute walk from the U-Bahn from which you can get to to the center of Hamburg in about 15 minutes.

Rooms are great. Temperature difficult to change. Hot water was at medium heat in the night. I slept in room 403. I heard the elevators at night quite loud.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights with our two daughters, aged 3 and 1. The staff was outstanding. We have stayed in many hotels, but here we felt most welcome, looked after and taken seriously at all times.
The room (family room) was spacious and we even enjoyed breakfast and room-service in the room. The staff was nice enough to bring two chairs into the room for the kids.

The parking was quite pricey, but the garage was bright, clean and well worth the money.

Easy access to the hotel, short way walk to the U2 U-bahn an to Hamburg down-town. Nice and clean rooms of high standard. Highly recomended

I really like this hotel !
Location is great. Zoo is great. Really thankful to restaurant for helping me with food when it was late.
The only issue that I have a concern is credit card guarantee. When I made reservation, I did not put credit card, just was in hurry. When I tried to put credit card information one day before arrival, your web site did not allow me to do it.
I sent an e-mail, saying that I was coming for sure, but it would be later than 6 pm. I explained that I have foreign phone, it is not so easy to call - NO. I was pushed to call from train where I barely was able to talk.
Please, trust to people.

Very friendly staff made my one night stopover a great experience. From the receptionist to the staff at the restaurant and bar, I was made to feel very welcome and take care of. Rooms are spacious and well appointed, overall a very good experience.

We had a very nice stay, Our purpose for the trip was to visit the zoo and the hotel couldn't be situated better.

The room was really nice with a good bed and we got the baby cot we requested which was nice.

The breakfast selection was really great, I loved that there was a kid section as well as a play area in the restaurant. The small selection of bio food was also really nice.

The only big disappointment is the fact that the hotel doesn't offer free wifi in the rooms. In this day and age it seems ridiculous not to offer free wifi especially at a 4 star hotel. I've had free wifi in 2 star hotel in Madrid and 3 star hotel i Amsterdam, it is a minimum expectation that hotels today offer free wifi for their guests in their room.

All in all we had a really nice stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel. Even though it seemed to be primarily occupied by business people, it is a quite nice hotel if you're traveling as a family.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit hohen Qualitätsansprüchen. Die Speisenauswahl und Qualität genügt hohen Ansprüchen. Das Servicepersonal angefangen vom Empfang bis zur Reinigungskraft durchweg freundlich und zuvorkommend aber nie aufdringlich. Optimale Lage direkt am Tierpark und Anbindung per U - Bahn an die Innenstadt bzw. Hafen und Landungsbrücken. Sehr schöne, geschmackvoll nach Themen des Tierparks eingerichtete Zimmer. Reichhaltiges Frühstück das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Ein kleines Manko gibt es doch. Die Kosten für einen Einstellplatz in der hoteleigenen Tiefgarage belaufen sich pro Tag auf 19 €.
Ansonsten, immer wieder gerne!!!

Super Hotel! Sehr nettes Personal, gepflegte Zimmer, leckere Cocktails, leckeres Frühstück. Zur nächsten U-Bahn Station und zum Tierpark waren es nur wenige Meter. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt! Immer wieder gerne :-)
