Landed there on Christmas Eve, stayed through Christmas Day and of course it was freezing cold and the people who work those shifts are amazing! The front desk was personable and accommodating. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The bed was amazing. I was able to bring my daughter-in-law, son and two grandkids to the pool where we had it to ourselves and had an excellent time! I highly recommend this facility, have been there before and will return again.

Great sale going on as the liquidation company closes out the building. You can stop by the front area to have a look at the various items for sale on the floors above. Sale runs until they are out of stock.

Room was nice and clean. Check in and check out were easy and fast. The bed and pillows were way too soft and had no support, so my back hurt the next day. There also was no refrigerator in the room, which was off. And there was minimal closet space for hanging clothes. Lastly, the parking was fairly expensive ($14 for self park) and not expected for a relatively small city like Iowa City. Other than those things, it was fine and served my purposes well.

The HVAC was not working for half the day since they were doing maintenance. The amenities were good but the ironing board could definitely be improved. I am 6.1 and I had to bend to iron my clothes on the tiny board.

Very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are nice, the pool area is awesome for kids. The convention rooms are very nice, and the food and service during the luncheon we attended was superb. Will stay there over and over. Great place!

Meet up with out of town business guests, good service little pricey on drinks (but more so average for hotels). Waitress was attentive and quick with orders.

Front desk workers have been very friendly and helpful. My room is clean and comfortable. The pool area is spacious and the pool is plenty big for a couple people to swim laps simultaneously.

Staff is great. Food is good. Location is excellent. Building is old a tired. Elevator is slow and jerks with load noises. Phone in room did not work. Rm 400 had a funky lock and very temperamental.

Room was updated, huge TV, lots of cosmetic freebies. Club lounge was nice, though free happy hour would be better. Others (Embassy Suites) offer that. Hallways are old-looking and could use a refresh.

Even though accommodation choices are limited near the University of Iowa Campus. The Sheraton Iowa City did an excellent job on my recent stay. My room was prepaid and they handled all of the logistics to perfection. The room was nice, clean and relaxing. The hotel is located in the downtown district with several food and entertainment choices within walking distance. Campus is also within walking distance.

Hands down, the meetings that I organized here were a great success. Indeed I got many comments that this was the best convention food our participants had ever been served. I think it was true for me too; Iowa and the Sheraton Iowa City chef are serious about Farm to table.

Perfect location for the fun of the Iowa City downtown and the business of the University of Iowa! Check in was smooth and friendly. Rooms have been clean and quiet through my several stays there. Overnight parking in an adjacent ramp is convenient.

The Sheraton is in a great location. It is just a few minutes walk to downtown which offers a large variety of shops and places to eat. The hotel is clean and has friendly staff. The rooms are fairly large with most of everything that you need. Although, there are no mini fridges in the rooms and the air conditioning system does not work very well.

The hotel was very nice. The parking garage was moderately convenient, except for no indoor connection with the hotel. It was nice to be fronting the pedestrian mall. Multiple rooms in the hotel had temperature problems during my two-day stay. The thermostat is separate from the wall unit but would not raise the temperature above 67 degrees during the day and 64 degrees during early morning hours. Staff promised to send the "engineer" but it never improved. The restaurant opened more than 30 minutes later than posted for breakfast. Really, one expects more. A working heater is a basic requirement for lodging when there is snow on the ground

Staff was lovely, room was clean. Room was not well soundproofed and temperature control system was noisy within. Cable was not working when we arrived but the issue resolved itself. Totally acceptable experience but not deserving of a perfect 5-star rating.

Very nice hotel in the heart of twinkville....college town. Rooms were clean, hotel is clean. Not much of a restaurant or bar to speak of...it seemed out of place where it was. Just outside the doors in the courtyard leading to the street you will find bar after bar after bar...and my favorite...the food carts. If you go here, look for the grilled cheese cart...best ever.

We have stayed here many times and are always satisfied. Steps from downtown with the best restaurants and bars. Excellent rooms. We stayed last night and my parents' room had broken AC that was really loud and they couldn't fix it right away, but they comped us a bunch of stuff and were super nice as usual. We will be back.

This was a very nice hotel. I stayed overnight to interview at the University of Iowa Hospital, and I used the Sheraton shuttle over to the hospital. It was very convenient. The rooms were very modern and clean, and I was quite impressed. Good place and good value.

Great stay. Clean room and friendly service. Parking was a bit more difficult than I had anticipated, but there is plenty of it in the ramp located just outside the hotel. Otherwise very good

I stayed here the night before an interview, and I had an exceptionally pleasant stay.

Location: just off a slightly busier street, but still pretty quiet. Ear plugs are automatically provided to muffle any residual sounds of normal urban life. The Sheraton was easy to find as well.

Parking: There is a covered structure immediately adjacent to the hotel, and they will validate your ticket so you can easily park free of charge.

Staff: Helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. I had forgotten a few minor items and they happily provided them. They also checked me in and out in a timely manner and relayed information from the program I was interviewing at to me.

Room: Spacious, clean, plenty of amenities. The beds are VERY soft (it actually feels like sleeping on a cloud - the cliche works here), and I slept like a rock the night before something I'm typically nervous for. an exceptionally comfortable night of sleep.

Breakfast: You do need to purchase breakfast in the restaurant connected to the hotel, but it is pretty reasonable for the breakfast buffet.

Overall, I would highly recommend staying here

The Sheraton is the best location for a hotel in downtown Iowa City. It is steps away from the pedestrian mall (walking streets) and close to all of restaurants/bars that downtown has to offer. Crowds are always walking around the area and fall weekends are normally packed with hawkeye football fans. The hotel is clean and accommodating and I've never had issues staying here. A parking garage is walking distance to the hotel and if you leave before 8.00 am you can park for free (hotel will give you a parking sticker as well). Breakfast is attached to the hotel and includes a great selection of options.

9

The staff is very kind and accommodating. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but it also may be because I am used to my adjustable, memory foam bed at home, so it isn't fair for me to lower a hotel's rating based off the beds. Great location in downtown Iowa City. Parking is a bit expensive, at $14 per 24 hour period, compared to Des Moines, even, this is very expensive for parking.

Everything was great, besides being downtown where it can get a little noisy at night. The beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly. Internet was a little iffy and slow at time but you can still get by.

Friendly staff, but not the nicest hotel. Very dirty. There were bugs all over the lobby. Carpet was stained and furniture was chipped. There was a strange musty smell in my room on the fifth floor. They accommodated when I asked to be switched. I wouldn't really want to stay here again, but I would if there weren't better options (and I'm sure there are).

After they remodeled the rooms are beautiful and beds so incredibly comfortable! Walls are thick enough that for being right on the ped mall you can't hear all the drunks.

Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. A perfect place to stay to get the Iowa City experience!
