This Best Western is in a good location for accessing the downtown area. There are a few eating places near by within walking distance. The breakfast here is very good. Overall, this hotel is a good value.

I like this hotel because of the staff. They are attentive and friendly every time I go there. It's a bit old and showing it's age, but it is clean and well maintained so there is a lot of good there. I will still use this place, as it is a little less money than some of the others and I been coming here for a long time. Usually before an early a.m. Operation or a late night flight in to the area. No food around after 12am though. Some order in place but the rest of the area folds up and goes away. I had to drive 6 miles to a Denny's to get something. I mean for Albany area, next to a university campus, the area was without even a pizza place.

Excellent location, and rooms are reasonably priced. I feel my King room smelled fresh and was very clean, despite the negative reviews. I especially appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the vibe of the hotel in general. It actually feels like a boutique hotel with its surroundings at night. Give it a go. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Yes, other reviews say its outdated, but I found the accomodations to be a couple notches above Day and a notch below Holiday.

Visited this location for a quick overnight visit before an early departure at the airport. During check in, the friendly front desk agent confirmed that they had a shuttle that could take me in the morning (the only reason I booked this location). The room was clean but felt humid and uncomfortable despite the AC being on. The continental breakfast was par for the course, although a lot of the "hot" food was far from it. After breakfast, I checked with the front desk to see when the shuttle leaves and was informed that they didn't have a driver and were in the process of trying to find one. After expressing that I booked this hotel because of the shuttle, the agent offered to call a cab for me, but the hotel wouldn't pay for it. I ultimately said screw it and took a $20 uber to the airport. All in all, a very mediocre hotel and a below average customer experience.

My family stayed at this hotel a year ago, and it was awesome! The workers and staff were so kind. My son came here because he won an award, and everyone at the hotel congratulated him, and knew him as the "smart kid." He became famous!! This made us feel proud and really improved our experience.

The room was bigger than average which was great, and the free breakfast was IHOP Quality (REALLY GOOD).

This hotel doesn't deserve 5 stars, it deserves 50!!!!

Thanks for the great stay, we will definitely be coming back whenever we stay in Albany.

Better than most best westerns I have been to, breakfast and wifi were average. Has an airport shuttle but it doesn't run at convenient times, the days I needed it at 0700 it wasn't going to be available till 0900. All and all it was a good place.

So impressed with our stay. VERY reasonably priced for everything you get. The hotel may be a little out dated, but the staff was very friendly. We went to the bar to get one drink, but Jeff, the bartender, was so friendly we ended up closing the place down. Free breakfast is also included and there was a great variety. I actually didn't know hotels did free breakfast anymore. None the less the staff at breakfast was very impressive too. They were motivated and kept everything stocked. Would definitely go back.

We only stayed here one night on our drive up north, but the service was good. The breakfast was amazing, so much variety. The bed was comfortable, we recommend this place if you're in the area.

I stayed here for one night and used my rewards points. They charged me $38 because they assumed I booked through Expedia and it took me talking to five people to get that money refunded! The hotel needs a thorough clean but it was fine enough for 1 night. Staff was lovely and very helpful and the free breakfast was nice. I would not stay here again though given the fact that they charged me when they shouldn't have. Especially because it took far too long for someone to finally reimburse me.

The hotel is nice. Breakfast is great; however, they could use a little improvement. The waffle iron was not working properly during breakfast. The toilet made noise for a couple of minutes after every flush. On a more positive note, the bed was really comfortable.

Rooms are clean and come equipped with a fridge and microwave. Full breakfast and shuttle service is nice. There's a number of gas stations and stores nearby. The mall is down the road. Location is decent. Only issue I had was the toilet took some time filling and sometimes didn't fill at all. Staff were pleasant. Decent place to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 30 or so years almost exclusively when in Albany, NY. I can only remember a handful of times I stayed elsewhere in Albany. Overall very few problems and many fond memories. Have stayed for business and leisure. Price and location very good.

We had a late night arrival and an issue with Orbitz's reservation, but the front desk person cleared it up and was quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast is what you'd expect... But with nothing missing. I'm used to a few under-ripe bananas and a hard bagel, but they had everything, including juice machines, varieties of coffee, chobani yogurts, cereals, muffins, Belgian waffle makers, eggs, hash, toast etc etc etc. Overall the accommodations were affordable, and standard... But solid.

Breakfast was very nice. Easy to find on & off highway. Hallways & pool area were poorly lit. Pool area was cold. Noticed areas that needed repairs: walls, trim, missing ice machine with exposed plumbing. Elevator out of service, bedside table was not clean. Staff was very friendly.

Solid choice for moderately priced mid-scale accommodations in the Albany market. I've always found staff service to be helpful and welcoming. Rooms are somewhat small and dated, yet very clean and quiet, making them a good choice for a business traveler. Breakfast is a step up from the BW norm, usually featuring two varieties of eggs and an expanded selection of cereals, breads, and yogurt. In-house restaurant/bar is leased, and has been hit-or-miss among multiple different owners and menus, however the current vendor seems to be getting a good grip on the place and bringing it up to par for a decent hotel bar (Though my personal recommendation is Across the Street Pub a couple doors down -- great food, personable service, and best wings in the area by a long shot.)

We were visiting Albany for the first time. The Hotel was easy to find and in a nice area. The staff was very pleasent and helpful. The room was nice, but expected more for the money. No fan in the bathroom and I couldn't get the internet to work.

Our family has been staying at this hotel for about the past 2 years, our son attends a nearby college. Overall, we all have had extremely positive stays.
The staff at The Best Western is always super friendly, attentive and do everything they can to fix any issues during a stay. We have never experienced any real problems with any of the rooms we stay in. The rooms and bathrooms have always been clean ( I am a clean freak ) The beds are comfortable and the room is a decent size. There is a refrigerator and microwave in each room which always makes it helpful to keep food around. The only issue we have is the internet, it gets sketchy from time to time.
We have used the indoor heated pool on a few visits. Sometimes the water was too warm and sometimes to chili. Last two times when we went with my little niece and nephew, it was perfect and it helped us out a lot on a rainy day. My fiance has used the treadmill in the gym area but they only have about 3 or 4 pieces of equipment. The sauna has never once been working in the 2 years we have been there though. I also would not recommend a room by the pool. that is the only room we did not like being in at all. We were bale to hear the people in the pool area.
They serve a full buffet breakfast, and this is definitely one of the plus's about this hotel. Its not a continental breakfast. They have everything from eggs, sausage / bacon, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries and restaurant style area to sit and eat. The location of the hotel is great too. Right by the colleges, shopping, dining and the capital. Its real close to Target and Walmart when we need to get things for my son.
I would recommend 100% to stay at this location.

This hotel could use a lot more updating. I was on the top floor, and when I walked into my room I was not very convinced at all. The room was small and so was the bathroom. I figured I could shake it off, but the water pressure was very very weak. I had to take 2 times as much time to simply take a shower! When I went to the pool, the water was green and full of little children's pee. The internet is slow, and the elevators didn't even work for crying out loud! Overall this was a bad experience and would not recommend this hotel.

Nice place. Breakfast was included and it's really good considering what you pay for the room. Only issue was when we put the heat on it had a burning smell. The lady said it was like that because there was dust in the system. They hadn't cleaned them since it wasn't cold out yet. Staff was nice and helpful.

The hotel was clean and the room was very nice. I didn't have much interaction with staff since I had no issues during my stay, but they seemed friendly. The location was good, close to several different shopping centres and two of the universities.

Stopped overnight after an extremely long trip. The lady at the desk remembered my voice from my phone call reservation and new who I was. They were informative, professional, and accommodating! The room was perfect at a great price. Outlets on the bedside lamps, microwave, and half fridge were above expectations. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in the area.

Breakfast is AMAZING. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because people were being loud in the hallways all night. We booked with priceline name your own price and got a great deal

The room and bathroom was nice and clean. Beds and sheets were very comfortable. Tv was nice, a lot of restaurants near by, dukin a min away. Lots of vending machine and breakfast was good, Pool was nice and clean. Most of the staff was friendly and nice. Check out is at 11 or 12, the one house keeper knocked on the door around 9 ( then seem to have an attitude ). But the other house keepers i have met in the hall were very friendly. The Wifi was okay. (one min it was good and the next it wasn't).

I had to get a room while my apartment was being refurbished and I had a number of hotels /motels in the area. I chose Best Western because it was pet friendly which was important because my cat was on the verge of a major meltdown because of the commotion in the apartment, also had free Internet, cable tv, and military discount, aarp discount if that refers to you. But what was really appreciated was that before t started the registration the two people at the desk immediately noticed the Vietnam Veteran patch on my jacket and thanked me for my service, and that was very rewarding because I had yet to reach the desk and I didn't have a registration so it was spontaneous it always nice to hear!. But the room was spotless the shower and tub was great and the hot water just kept coming no 3 min shower, a fresh coffee maker and a medium size fridge, the free fresh breakfast and you make the waffles so you can't get them fresher than that. The do not disturb sign strictly adhered to an indoor swimming pool, a great stay.i have stayed in many hotels top to bottom. If you want a nice place to chill do work for your job or whatever give it a shot.
