The hotel is a family run business and is all the better for it. The staff are warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The food is of a high standard, although as it is only a few minutes walk to the town centre there is a wide variety of choice if required. A warm welcome is guaranteed as is a good night's sleep.

Owner was amazing, we had problems with our hotel at 3am (it was noisy and cold, the ibis) and the owners of Buckingham’s Hotel opened up at 3am gave us a lovely room. The most amazing breakfast with everything homemade from yogurts to sausages, and plenty of complimentary beverages. We would defiantly stay again.

We dined in the restaurant with one table. Whilst it is expensive, you do get the full experience and I didn't leave disappointed overall.

There is no menu, you simply let the Chef know in advance what foods you dont like and he'll cook something that you do. My only word of warning is don't go with fussy eaters because everyone gets the same meal. When your meal in served the Chef comes to the table to talk you through the meal you've got.

As I said, some of the price is justified by the experience, I would take someone here if I were trying to impress with something a bit different.

My wife and I went for our anniversary and they made us a vegan feast. Quite pricey, but worth it for a treat

Lovely little hotel with 10 bedrooms only. Parking limited to 4 cars only. The restaurant was full so went into town centre.
However, the breakfast was with all of it home made. Good experience overall. 👍

The owner was quite rude when we arrived she said we was lucky as they got the prices wrong on the website and she said she wasn't happy (this is while I was signing in) then she asked if we book again can we do it directly through the hotel cos she loses 20% of her rooms . I've never felt so unwelcomed where I've stayed. Her daughter made up for this very polite and friendly .

Excellent quality food, tailored exactly to your likes and dislikes by head chef Nick Buckingham. A true dining experience, though it is quite expensive, but you get what you pay for!

My grandson treated us to a meal for my birthday, it was the best meal we have ever had. Thanks to the chef who explained all the dishes to us and also to Tina, nothing was too much trouble. Every course was brilliant, thank you so much. Would recommend it to anyone!

Had a lovely stay with the Buckinghams at the weekend. The room was cosy and clean, hosts were friendly, and the food (we are vegetarian) in particular, was definitely worth going back for.
