Took my girlfriend here as part of a wowcher offer and it was definitely worth it. The hotel has beautiful views of the surrounding areas being on top of a hill itself.

The food is great too. A variety to choose from to have your 3 course dinner. Breakfast wise the usual buffet style available to grab. Some bartenders do make better cocktails than others so watch out.

The rooms were also very nice clean and tidy. Some do not have the greatest views but still very nice.

Golf is available but I didn't try this and instead used the spa facilities. Very nice spa area for guests. Myself and my girlfriend both had treatments done and were a bit disappointed. Could barely feel anything being done compared to previous treatments we've had elsewhere. But some people might like the gentle touch.

I would say it is a little bit of a maze to get around but nothing too bad.

Generally the staff is very police and guests are all very nice too.

Came for a one night stay for our 10th wedding anniversary using a living social voucher, and have not been disappointed. Such a stunning building with a fabulous view and well kept grounds. We loved the history of the place too, with the spa and swimming pool being inside the old chapel. We chose a deluxe room which was clean, tidy and came with a four poster bed.

Our evening meal which was included was three courses, all of which were delicious. I had soup, lamb hotpot and sticky toffee pudding. Breakfast was included which was served buffet style, with full English breakfast options as well as tea coffee, fruit, cold meat and pastries. Lots to choose from and all yummy.

You can also play crazy gold and tennis for free whilst you're there, and use the swimming pool, sauna and gym. This made it great value for money. We also had spa treatments included in our voucher, which although going in for the appointments a little late were very relaxing.

Yet another fabulous weekend at Shrigley Hall. Fantastic value for money and absolutely amazing food. Always a pleasure to visit. Really friendly staff who always go the extra mile to ensure a good time is had by everyone. Well definitely be back again soon .

Would have given 5 stars only for the fact is it's like a maze to find your way from back reception rooms to dining area etc plus if you're disabled or poor mobility you will really struggle with steps and uneven floor. It sounds really negative but I did really struggle going to dine and breakfast from room. But the rest of the stay was fantastic the room was spacious and 4 poster bed was extremely comfortable and we had a whirlpool bath which was great to relax legs after getting around the hotel. Dining was fantastic too the service was polite and not overbearing with some delicious food served to ourselves, the self service breakfast was the same with some tasty bacon and fresh warm pastries also. The views of the surrounding peak District are breathtaking. I would definitely return but only with s room near main reception.

Absolutely stunning! My husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary and we could not have picked a more romantic setting! Right from the second you pull onto the driveway to the second you step into your room, you're surrounded by elegance and beautiful scenery! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the spa facilities which were included in the room price were lovely and very relaxing and the meal, well where to start with that!!! Simply delicious! I had the greek salad to start which was lovely and the braised pork for main which literally melted the second I put it in my mouth! For dessert I had the Bakewell tart with cream! Each meal was beautifully presented and there was a good selection of drinks too. We had a deluxe suite so we stayed in the hall itself and it was stunning. 4 poster comfortable bed, powerful shower and bags of room! The breakfast the morning after was also delicious with a huge selection ranging from cold meats, fruit, pastries, cereal and an English breakfast! The on site crazy golf, which is free to use if you're staying, was a little dated but still fun and did not in any way deflect from the overall gorgeous experience we had at Shrigley Hall. One thing that really stood out for my husband and I was seeing the Manager of the hotel walking around and speaking to guests, ensuring they were being looked after and asking how their stay was. I don't think I've ever experienced that in a big hotel like this and it was very refreshing to see. 10 out of 10 Shrigley Hall! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will most definitely be back!

I'm staying at Shringley Hall right now. Earlier today (after lunch), I went to reception to explain that my room hadn't been 'made-up'. The reception staff was dismissive, saying they'd very to it.
We returned after dinner to find it hadn't been 'made-up'. I called reception and they sent someone. In the meantime we went to the bar. We've just got back, and if our room is 'made-up' now, then it was made up by the cookie-monster (meaning not ' made-up ')
If you're considering staying here - that should really tell you all you need to know!

Nice place. Food was lovely. Service was good. Beautiful views. Perhaps could of been a little cleaner in pool area where the water laps the pool side and Jacuzzi floor was not very clean. Shame there was not a nail bar or hair salon as all beauty treatments were fully booked up. Tip ..book in advance! Enjoyed our stay though.

Attending a residential course with an overnight stay.
The food was tasty and we'll presented.
The grounds were absolutely stunning.
An exceptionaly large car park.
Very courteous and helpful staff.
The main building is beautiful however the room was adequate and clean but slightly shabby with threadbare carpet. To be fair, this may be rooms set aside for course delegates/visiting workmen and may not represent the rest of the accommodation.

Really quite disappointed in what was supposed to be a 4 star hotel.

Room was seriously outdated, genuinely feels like an 80s 2 star throwback. Really lets down the incredible exterior of the building.

Echo some others about the labyrinth of corridors. Rooms are not especially easy to find and everything from parking to finding your room just seems like more work than it should be.

Food was average to good. Little bit more expensive than the quality would suggest but not bad.

Golf course was average, at time of play it was very dry.

Would have been a 3 star if not for the poor quality of the rooms.

It's in a wonderful setting. Fair to middling golf course. Good food, particularly breakfast. It's a long walk up stairs and various lifts to get to many rooms, not for the information at all. Very nice staff, except the miserable guy who books you in for golf. The hotel must know who he is.

A great place to stay if you play golf. Our room was small and overlooked the bar patio which was noisy especially with wedding guests. Room cleanliness excellent but maintenance poor - only half the light fittings worked. Breakfast choice is limited but offerings mostly of fair standard. We would have liked to see a dress code in the dining room.

On arrival lovely place, beautiful grounds and hotel. However. We stayed here at full price, suites are advertised as having a balcony and very different than what we got, although to my understanding the part of the building we stayed in is fairly new but we did feel a little let down not to have that. The facilities are lovely but the safety fixtures and fittings of certain areas such as the metal steps going into to pool and the metal bar around the Jacuzzi are all to lose and wobbly making it somewhere I would be a little to nervous to bring my children. The stairs on the first floor opposite the the lift when you reach the bottom steps it had a banister broken and very loose which again would be a scary thought for safety. I had also ran a bath and found granite inside or some type of dirt. A few hygiene and safety issues and a little disappointment of our room if these things were addressed then this is a wonderful place to visit and i would visit again. The food was lovely in the evening lots of option and friendly service. The spa treatments where wonderful and other than the scenery what really makes
This place run so well is the friendliness and manners of the staff. We had no issues with any of the staff and a man at the front of the reception kindly took the time to give us a little history lesson.

Great hotel which has a wealth of amenities such as a spa, swimming pool, golf course and crazy golf. All the staff were extremely friendly and personable from the Receptionist to the Gardner to the changeover staff. The room we stayed in was good and as expected for the price. The place is absolutely huge with it literally taking 5 minutes to walk from the reception to the room, but we were in a room that could not have been further away. Would definitely recommend as a place for a weekend getaway.

Staff were lovely, efficient and friendly. Amazing location, great food and a fantastic old maze like building with lots of hidden places to explore (I didn't go anywhere I swear).

However, rooms were slightly disappointing, smaller than expected from photos, big crack in sink, dusty and very very VERY noisy. Thin walls and squeaky floors. Worth the money and the experience but for no more than a couple of days.

This hotel is set in fabulous grounds - the weather was bad so we weren't able to take full advantage. There is a golf course, a small crazy golf area, a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. There is also a well equipped gym and a spa treatments available. Our room was basic but clean and well presented. Other members of the family were in a suit which was beautiful. The food on site was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It is a but of a maze if your room isn't in the main building. Being an older building it has some quirks too, one of the (many) lifts always stopped at floor 2 which caused a little confusion.

Lovely setting and good service! Elegant dining experience although choice on set menu is very limited as they don't change the dishes from one night to the next.Only 3 or 4 choices not as the sample menu on web site.Rooms are good although a bit noisy with doors which bang easily. We had a room with connecting door to next for families so could hear everything next door And they had a dog!!
All in all a nice stay with lovely staff but despite the elegance, feels a bit like coach holiday hotel.

Overall, our weekend Spa break was slightly below 'average'.

The main improvement the spa needed, was to make sure their jacuzzi wasn't cold (everyone that got in made the same comment "it's freezing!"). We couldn't warm up in the sauna either, because it was being used as a storage cupboard (and was presumably out of order) and the steam room simply wasn't very steamy. The hygiene of the spa was also lacking. We noticed plenty of mold spots, rust and general wear and tear. These basic problems undermined the efforts made by the friendly staff but did shine a light on the relaxing massages we had.

It was disappointing to celebrate a birthday here. The impressive sign you pass when driving through the entrance suggests Shrigley Hall will be competing with other 'Stately homes turned hotels', but sadly, this is not the case. This experience sits comfortably along side a typical Blackpool hotel stay, where everything is just a bit too on-the-wrong side-of old and run down.

Come expecting at 3 star Hotel and you will be perfectly satisfied.

Lovely hotel combining old and new decoration, with the added plus of a relaxing spa section (indoor pool with jacuzzi, and steam room). Also houses treatment rooms at extra cost - everyone here seems very pleased with the services.
Amazingly placed on the edge of the peak district for walks around the area, with very challenging hills if you want more of a hike. Gorgeous scenery.
Food is very good - buffet breakfast both cooked and continental, delicious (although rather simple) afternoon tea, and 3-course dinner. Staff always have service with a smile, very approachable and helpful! All in all, great value for money!

Great food and we enjoyed our stay overall. Certain aspects of decor and Rooms need basic modernization to complement this beautiful Hall. Especially in the room we stayed in anyway. But you see through this once you settle in. The surrounding country side is stunning.

Nice staff, lovely welcome on reception and the front of house staff were brilliant couldn't do enough for us.
The food has been delicious, lovely meal last night and a full breakfast this morning. Don't need to eat for a week!
Had a great walk around the golf course, nobody playing today, probably too much snow.

Very good price for the room and meal deal. Lovely hotel with more than acceptable accomodation. Food was nothing special but was restaurant quality. Back rooms do get noisy as you are directly on the main corridors. Breakfast could have been much better. Gym is well equipped, pool and saunas are clean but do get busy at times.

Well, where do I start? At the beginning is a good a place as any. The drive up to the hall is impressive, infact so is the entrance. Then you get through the door, where you're met with decor that I can only describe as dated and eclectic, all mixed together, most odd!

The staff are friendly and the food pretty good, such a shame about the dining areas. The restaurant has absolutely no character at all. The bar is more comfortable as to be expected, with an odd mix of big armchairs, Indian fans in the ceiling (only one set of them working) and fairy lights totally covering one huge window.

In the spa, the steam room wasn't working and the sauna was fine if you didn't mind being packed into a small box like sardines. All in all an interesting experience and one I don't think I'll be having again, but don't let me put you off, see for yourselves 😊

Fantastic family get together. We went to Shrigley Hall for dinner between Christmas and New Year and it was really lovely. The atmosphere, decorations and bar was great. Dinning experience was excellent, great food and service. The staff could not have been more helpful and one even took a group photo for us. Really enjoyed it and a very memorable evening

Shrigley Hall Hotel. I am happy to give Shrigley Hall Hotel a good rating. A pleasant, comfortable stay. I Lovely friendly staff all over, good food, lovely surroundings. Some decor is looking a bit tired, but new owners are addressing this. The par three golf course looks challenging and interesting also. I would stay there again.

I attended Shrigley for the wedding of one of my best friends and the venue, staff and environment as a whole was extremely pleasant. From speeding us through check in just in time for us to make the wedding ceremony after being delayed in traffic through to a high quality breakfast to help recover after the wedding celebrations. Unfortunately didn't get to use the spa facilities but having walked around the hotel they seemed to be of a high standard and the guests coming out certainly seemed content. I'm thinking of returning just for a nice weekend retreat.

My room was not very clean. I moved an armchair to find and old orange peel and dust. There was a lot of junk that had fallen behind the desk that hadn't been removed. Breakfast in the morning was very good, although on our last morning the breakfast restaurant was understaffed, the staff were unfocused and did not seem to care about the numerous complaints they were receiving. Dinner in the bar was average. The swiming pool and spa was lovely, and the location was beautiful. Most staff were very good, our breakfast host and the receptionists especially.

Shrigley Hall is a beautiful hotel. I went for afternoon tea with my husband and in laws. My father in law actually attended school here to train as a priest so he gave us a tour of the building and told tales of his youth. The what is now leisure centre used to be the church. The restaurant staff seemed a little clueless on the day we were there however they were all very friendly it just seemed a little confused there. The setting is stunning and the hotel looked a lovely place to stay. I would be very keen to visit as an overnight guest. The drive up to it is lovely as well. Generally all round - lovely!!!! 😊

We stayed in a family room for two nights and were more than satisfied with the service that we were provided. The room itself was not 'luxury', but we didn't expect anything more than that. We had enough space to live and relax in, and the bathroom was adequate for what we required. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and steam room space, which was spacious, peaceful and enjoyable. The food was of an excellent standard, and the grounds were well kept. We would definitely return again for a budget family holiday.

My daughter had her wedding reception here, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Eamon the duty manager was always finding us to make sure everything was okay, even putting additional mood lighting in the room, to add a touch of class. The food was fantastic, both in the evening and at breakfast.
A big thank you to everyone who worked hard to make Laura and Charles wedding reception a great night.

The hotel has quite a lot of land around and the area is marvelous. The hotel feels a bit dated in certain areas but it's not too bad. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Prices of drinks are a bit high.

We stayed in a family room, which was large, clean, well furnished and had the usual supply of complimentary toiletries and beverages. The hotel was lovely, however some areas are in need of refurbishment. Food was excellent, most staff were helpful. Would recommend staying, however if have mobility problems, would suggest asking for a room near reception, as some rooms are a bit of a hike away and getting to them involves navigating various level changes.

Big old building with a grand old reception area, the service was good from the friendly staff. Our room was rather tired inside, and some corridor noise did wake us due to heavily banging corridor doors; but then the dining side of the stay made up for these aspects as the restaurant area was very nice and with a really full, pleasant atmosphere. The menu was good, my wife and I both enjoyed our meal. The pool and gym was also included in the price, which was great! Overall our visit was outstanding value and I would definitely stay here again.

Attended for my brother's wedding the venue was beautiful and the event staff were extremely helpful and we'll organised. The food was very nice and the buffet put on after was also very nice. The room we stayed in was 89 for bed and breakfast. My only complaint would be that our room was extremely warm but there was a fan in the room. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style and there was plenty of food available. Overall very nice stay
