Stayed for two weeks while we were waiting to move to our new home. We were orginally told that there was a pool; however, due to construction it was closed (huge bummer). To address this, the staff did the following: 1) Provided us pool passes to another pool 2) Comped breakfast for the kids each day 3) Brought cookies and milk to our room AND wine and cheese for us. 4) Provided fruit for the kiddos 5) Were very kind to my whole family. Highly recommend this place!

The room was very modern, stylish and clean. Huge TV and the bathroom clean. I'm not sure if you can choose whether or not the bathroom comes with a tub but next time I'm going to remember to request one. If you stay here enjoy it, I did.

Excellent stay!! Nice, clean rooms. Ask for a room with a skyline view. Convenient to many places. Nice courtyard with fire pits for cool nights. Bald gentleman (sorry forgot his name) that works the bar was beyond AWESOME! There is some construction/remodeling going on as they are changing to an autograph hotel, however, once complete - I'm sure it will be even better!!

I really enjoyed my stay here. I was lucky to get one of the newly renovated rooms. Very comfortable and modern design. Loved the shower room as well. Very functional. The only pet peeve was finding the valet parking stand as there are some renovations in progress on the ground floor facade. It is quite a busy area as you can imagine, and there are quite a few one-way streets. So if you miss it, plan to go around.

Pretty good hotel. Free WiFi, but I couldn't get it to work. They didn't tell us that there was massive remodeling going on during our stay, do that was a bummer. Everything else was good though. I thought the rooms were nice and it's in a great location. Would consider staying here again.

I really enjoyed my stay at this Marriott Hotel. It's in a great location, walking distance from the beach, AT & T Stadium, as well as other various places. The hotel itself is pretty good too. I stayed here for business so I didn't really take part in all the amenities the hotel offers but like I said overall my stay was very nice and I would recommend this hotel.

My son and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. They call me by name, it makes me feel like it is my home away from home. We visited the Starbucks there every day. They are always friendly and a great way to start the day. Actually everyone here is extremely friendly and the new room designs are great!

Great hotel! Lots of construction around it right now. It makes it difficult to get a ride and get in and out. I booked a single King and got 2 Queens. Not a big deal, but not what I booked. All in all good stay, clean hotel, and awesome experience and location. Looking forward to coming back.

Very nice hotel in many ways--but I have no idea who thought it would be a good idea to install sliding bathroom doors with no lock. Also, the rooms require you to put your key in a slot to turn the lights on, which in practice means that you only have one room key. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though, and it was not too far from many attractions within SF.

This hotel was not at all what I expected from a bay area hotel... The king suite was great! The room had a huge sitting area with a large wet bar and a surprisingly spacious fridge. The shower was another high point with a normal shower head and a removable wand... A really pleasant change from the typical Cali hotsl shower where I feel like I have to run around to catch the water. The lobby bar and inner courtyard we're also quite comfortable and a good place to have a drink with some friends. Overall a great stay!

The location is absolutely perfect. The staff was very helpful and super kind. They even mention that if I ever forget my key they can come up to me if I use the phones and the hallway. They also delivered toothpaste to my room late at night without any question. Five stars for sure!

A friend stayed here and I dropped my backpack in his room when our group went out to dinner. The rooms are very nice compared to everyone else's rooms in our group. Everything looked new and clean. We had appetizers in the bar and grill near the lobby and the waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He even have a great sushi recommendation and helped us make reservations.

Front desk lady was amazing. Very impressed. Nice hotel. Would of gave 5 star except for
Valet driver and valet manager, Just terrible. Asked simple question about parking with a trailer was transferred around till the manager came on and said he was to busy to direct us to the lot and hung up. Lot was literally a block away, would have taken him 10 seconds to explain that. Very poor.

Excellent stay. Good food, the top floor has a bar with great views.

The hotel is within walking distance to Union Square and to the water front and ferry terminal.

There are museums and parts just outside.

Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance as well.

Target is across the street, convenient for all travel support needs.

We stayed here one night. I booked a room online while standing at the desk because the staff said no rooms were available (front desk told me to do it). I booked a double queen online but when I checked in they said none were available and gave me a room with what was suppose to be a pull out sofa. We got to the room and the sofa had been nailed so that it didn't come out anymore. I went down and told them whT happened. They offered to change us rooms or discount our room. They were very nice and took care of things really quick. The front desk staff was extremely helpful the next day also. Great place to stay plus it was clean and really nice.

So, I’m all for “green” and trendy - but these rooms are a bit too much. They’ve seemed to reinvent the light switch, where they’re all push buttons in weird places and the lights turn themselves off after about 10 minutes. The shower water temp doesn’t have an H or C on it, just the number 100. When you move the knob to 100, it’s cold. When you move it the other way, it’s warm. Where is hot? Bed was fine, which I guess is the important part, and they still have coffee makers.

Went for the Giants game. Spent the weekend there. Easy check-in, great clean rooms. The staff is friendly and staff is very accommodating. More pricey than surronding hotels, and valet is $70 a night. If you get a room with valet included, double check bill since I got double charged for valet

Very nicely decorated, conveniently located full service Courtyard in downtown San Francisco. Very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful personnel. Close to SF Giants baseball, Embarcadero, freeway to Bay Bridge. Contemporary styling, seating in common areas, fire pit on lobby patio. Decently stocked marketplace for snacks, with microwave oven for heating. Bar, restaurant, and coffee shop on site. Lovely, spacious rooms, with contemporary, comfortable furnishings. Pricey, yet it's downtown San Francisco... Valet parking only, and while the valets were consummate professionals, courteous & helpful, the rates exceed what I pay at similarly styled New York City properties. It is what it is...

This hotel is very nice. We had a high floor, city overlook room that was quite comfortable. The staff was super friendly and having a Starbucks attached was a definite plus. We were in town doing some touristy things, and the Big Bus hop on hop off tour has a stop outside, which was handy for our sightseeing adventures. TL;DR 10/10 would stay again

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel! The rooms are well decorated and make you feel like you are in a boutique hotel instead of a large chain. Good location and walking distance to pretty much anything. The staff was nothing but nice and extemerly helpful.

Great value for the quality of service, the central location, and the quality of the rooms. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and check-in is very quick. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and the location is hard to beat.

The breakfast was great for the price (~$20) but this has been closed for renovations I believe for quite some time.

The hotel restaurant is good with helpful staff and a good beer selection on tap. Pro tip: if you sit at the one table near the window in the bar area, you might get lucky and be able to see the filming of a cooking show in the building across the alley! Very cool.

Room feels big. It's quiet and clean. The location downtown is nice. I've never had many requirements for a hotel so overall this is everything I could ask for - helps that I'm here on business so am not paying out of pocket.

They recently renovated every room and now they are NICE. They're also pretty big. Fun decor, comfy bed, nice touches like USB ports along with wall outlets next to the bed. The shower is big, nice, and clean.

You can get a fair amount of street noise, trucks backing up, etc. But you're in the middle of downtown San Francisco so you have to kind of expect it.

The staff are friendly. It was pouring rain when I was there and they had umbrellas to borrow which I appreciated.

I will definitely stay here again.

Best area hotel, not your regular courtyard property. Well done, renovated, super well managed, rooms good size for downtown US city. Good lobby chill out space. Good pricing for that city. Location 10 minutes to virtually anything you need.

Was in town for business. People at the front desk were very accommodating, got me checked in super fast and explained everything about the room. Was on the 10th floor, had no trouble with sounds or temperature in the room. Declined housekeeping all but one day (I'm not one to bother the staff unnecessarily) and was able to grab breakfast at Starbucks in the lobby. Zero complaints staying here.

The staff is truly great! Super helpful, efficient and pleasant. Rooms are currently under renovation. Renovated rooms have a large built in couch/pull out so it feels a little crowded compared to the older rooms. We were able to have adjoining rooms for travelling with extended family. Valet parking is a little steep at $68 daily.

Clean, modern looking rooms with nice amenities. The staff is really polite and the lounge and bar area are gorgeous. I was in a newly renovated room on the 4th floor, so I had all of the modern fixtures and a soft king sized bed. TV was an LG that was a bit unresponsive. The area is also pretty nice, but I wouldn't want to be outside after sunset. This is more on San Francisco than the actual vicinity though.

Very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is in a relatively low-key and quiet area, and yet there are plenty of good restaurants within a five minute walk. The hotel is also a few minute's walk to public transportation. The room was very nicely done and sufficiently spacious. Nights were nice and quiet. The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. Lobby is quite lively and filled with travelers from across the world. Highly recommended.

The room had just been renovated and was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Good large room. Bed very comfortable. Great location. Service was a bit iffy - we were told to check in post 4pm, but our booking confirmation said 3pm. Had to ask for help with our bags as we were given a trolley to use ourselves. Breakfast was paid for but we were told not available - had to request a refund, but they did put it through.

Beautiful hotel!! We rented one of the cheaper rooms (all we could afford on our budget) but when we arrived we were upgraded for free to one of the newly remodeled rooms! Beautiful hotel. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have nice bathrooms. Not the most spacious but good enough. The mini fridge barely keeps things cold. Friendly staff, nice hotel. 3 stars from us as we were here in a night that the city had to turn off the eletricity from 9p-4a. We were offered mini flashlights and some glow sticks. Cute, but there really should have been some sort of discount. Most people were checking out. The few of us that stayed.... We have a new mini light and a glow sticks. We expected more from a large luxury chain

Located in downtown San Francisco, it's a great hotel with a unique ambience. I particularly liked the location cos it was close to where I needed to be during the period of my stay in the city.

Everything was great , Comfy bed where a pleasure. The staff was wonderful. But there was 1 reason I didn't give them 5 stars . We woke up late from doing laundry late. I asked for a late check out . Keep in mind we have been Marriott members for quite a while and we have been here 4 days and they only allow us 30 min . I would stay again though. Also I let the manager know about a a scam I saw on Craigslist . I figured the would of offered me something but of course not

We recently rented several rooms as part of a wedding party weekend and were very pleased with our choice. We were in a newly renovated 2 room suite and the finishes were thoroughly modern and an unexpected surprise. The hotel was RECENTLY renovated. Excellent room! Very modern and lots of space. We had a shower and two queens. I enjoyed the indoor pool and hot spa daily. There was also a large HDTV flat screen in our room. The sink was IN the bathroom area. I would recommend this to others and I would come to stay again.
Also, I enjoyed the free high speed Internet as well as the MANY USB outlet charging stations within my room.

Nothing "wow'ed" me. The bar and patio is nice with fireplace. Indoor pool and spa was nice but was simply over crowded to go and enjoy. The rooms are nice, but the bed creaked every move and was overly soft. Parking... Ugh! $62 to park your vehicle at the hotel. Ridiculous... But then again... Its San Francisco. Easy walk to AT&T Park for a game.

Clean, reasonable sized room in the downtown. It meets the basic needs for a business trip. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has space, although the sink is outside the bathroom proper. The carpet is a bit older in look and style but not dirty. Restaurant and a Starbucks downstairs if you don't feel like staying too far at night. All in all quite livable for a short visit.

Ashley at the front desk was a rockstar in getting our 2 rooms for 8 people! The breakfast buffet included omelets with real eggs, waffles, pancakes all made while you watch and all the standard stuff. There's a Starbucks on the first level! Close to downtown and the stadium. Will definitely stay here again!

We spend Christmas at this hotel, and it certainly met our needs.
Rooms are quite large, clean, nicely decorated and modern.
Bed size (2 queen beds) were also fine, maybe larger than most places we've been to.
When we needed to call some maintenance guy he came within few minutes.
As some mentioned, the sink is outside the bathroom, I think it is actually convenient for us, but each one may have a different opinion.

The lobby, outdoor area, and new restaurant were fantastic. Service was always warm, welcoming and friendly. My only issue was once you went above the very nice lobby where you got your first impression, the decor, functionality, and rooms seemed very dated. Outlets were difficult to find or in odd places(and I know that's a very millennial-sounding phrase, but I was traveling alone and having my phone charged was necessary to safely navigate myself around a new city). Carpets and furnishings smelled old, everything needed a fresh coat of paint, plumbing was.... slow. Overall this was a fine place to stay when all I was doing was sleeping there, but if I ever got back early, I was uncomfortable staying in my room and the great restaurant downstairs closes early. Had I never had to leave the first floor, my stay would have been great!

I DO want to reiterate, though, that the staff was great. Always kind and warming, and that was greatly noticed and appreciated.

The hotel has a very good location near the city centre. The subway is easily accessible within a 10 minute walk and most facilities are nearby. Staff is friendly and are willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms have air-conditioning, big comfortable beds and a bathroom with bath and shower in one. Breakfast is good and they also have a small sports bar near the lobby and a Starbucks attached to the hotel.

The stuff is not that friendly, the rooms look old and there is a huge lack of power plugs. But all the rest is pretty fine. If you're not spending much time in the hotel, you're ok. The Gym and the swimming Pool is super cool if you're into it. Normal comfy hotel, Nothing special about it.

We were allowed to check in early by the friendly staff. Amazing location downtown. Parking is really the only issue. They need to offer something other than $60 a night valet parking. Our room was small but compfy and clean. Nice indoor pool and hotub next to a 24 hour full gym.

Our view was nice, as we could see the Bay Bridge and surrounding landscape.

The restaurant inside is OK, a little expensive, and average quality.

The staff was excellent, and they let us stay two extra nights at the same rate although the quote online had almost doubled the price to due a convention filling the hotel to near capacity.

Next time I stay in San Francisco I will stay here!

this review is for a 4 night stay in mid-Nov 2016.

about what you would expect from a Courtyard. location was easy to find, with a local Starbucks attached to the lobby. hotel has free wi-fi (no password so use at your own risk), and the staff was friendly so no complaints.

I had a double Queen room which was decked out pretty much like any other Courtyard. room was a good size but it felt like there was some furniture missing from what I normally see at a Courtyard... not a big deal of anything, just felt a little more roomy.

overall no complaints, and nothing extraordinary either. but I would definitely stay here again.

Somehow ended up in the hotel bar with a stranger at 11:00pm on Halloween night. My new friend was taking her to finishing her food so I guess the bar back decided she was done and cleared the bar where we were sitting. When we realized what had happened we asked for either another plate to go or a refund. They did both, plus comped our drinks. Mistakes happen. It is the way they are handled that defines the class of an establishment. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location was perfect for me and my friends. Market Street is only a couple blocks away (7min walk). Lots of food, drinks, and clubbing options in the area. Very comfortable rooms here. They're clean and large and roomy. They're clean and the staff were very accommodating for late check outs. Location is central and easily walkable to various places. There's a nice area with a fire downstairs for drinks. The hot tub is quiet and nice to have. The pool is very small, good to play around but not for laps. SF is very expensive... But this was decent considering the room was quite decent.

Large rooms with large windows. Some rooms have amazing view of the city from the large window. The fireplace in the lobby is beautiful and a great place to hangout. It's outdoors so perfect for the bit of warmth that you're looking for. There are also heaters in the outdoor patio and you can have drinks delivered there. Free late checkout is a possibility, just ask the staff.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of downtown. Well appointed lobby, nice rooms, and a surprisingly quiet area. Walking distance to most places, or take an uber or the BART. Close to the Moscone center if you are going for a conference.

The room itself was nice, the hotel is also quite nice. I had booked a room with a 9 PM check out confirmed through tripcase to stop in for awhile before a red-eye back across the country. They took back the room at noon while I was in a business meeting, went back to change out of the suit and wash up before the red-eye and found myself locked out with my possessions still in the room. The front desk solution was to let me in to get my possession and graciously tell me they weren't going to charge me for a full extra day because I didn't take my possessions out of the room. The 9 pm check, confirmed no less, seemed to be meaningless to them and left me in a very awkward spot

Spacious room, clean, and comfortable. Front desk friendly and swift. Area around hotel is barren for lunch and breakfast options on weekend.

Parting is valet only and comes at a hefty price. The room is beautiful however, complete with a large Whirlpool bath. You can try your luck finding parking on the street, but is few and far between. The staff was extremely friendly upon arrival. And I will certainly consider staying here again.

Edit - the unfortunate thin walls and the sound of my neighbor using the restroom just dropped a star.

There's nothing special about the marriott. I have one word for it, PRICEY! BREAKFAST and parking aren't included. Self parking is 2 blocks away, really?

Always love this hotel for a Giants Friday- Sat weekend getaway. Easy walk to AT&T park. Stop by 21st Amendment Brewery for awesome brews!

The rooms are clean and nice. WiFi actually works fine and it's free. Available everywhere within the hotel. Unfortunately there is no shampoo in bathroom.
