Nice pool and bar. Rooms are clean and staff friendly and attentive. The food is mediocre. On our last night the owner,'s daughter's private birthday party took over one entire end of the pool area, reducing pool seating significantly and then that night guests not from the hotel were treated to several hours of loud dance music that prevented my wife and I from sleeping. We would not have minded if the hotel guests were invited but an exclusive, loud event that reduced the satisfaction of paying hotel guests were unacceptable!

Lovely staff. Delicious food. Good night entertainment. If you're looking for a place that is lowkey and calm with an older crowd, it is the spot for you. If you want a party pool scene with contemporary music, look for another place. Still a great time :)

This is a beautiful hidden resort. It's not on the beach. However the beach is 3min walk with the all inclusive resort feature available. Margaritas are non stop, the pool area is lovely and quaint. The food is delicious here. 10min cab ride to Malecon. Great entertainment too.

A huge thanks to the entire team at Hacienda Buenaventura for a wonderful week-long stay in PV. We especially loved the staff, the Mexican food and largely domestic clientele (particularly great for practicing our Spanish). While all the staff were fantastic, we need to recognize the work of Laura, Francisco, Quick, Miguel, Carlos, Alicia, all the friendly security guards and the lady with the beautiful smile who was often cleaning around the pool area and worked the towel desk. The rooms are spacious and wonderfully air conditioned yet a little basic. However, we weren't in Mexico to stay inside. In fact, we basically only used them for sleep and showers. We much preferred to spend our time at the top-notch beach club (only a two minute walk from the reception). We hope to see everyone again in future years! Keep up the fantastic work and thanks for everything you do!

Best hotel experience of my life! This was a great introduction to Mexico. The food is amazing, the service OUTSTANDING, and very clean and well maintained. Everyone is very accomodating and we never had a problem. The bartender Miguel was especially nice, he has the best customer service. We will definitely be back to this hotel and recommend it to all of our friends!

I was there with a guest pass, the people working there are really friendly , the bar service at the beach club was slow but it was bc there was only 1 bartender for like 60+ people

Beautiful hotel with this Mexican theme, the food in the buffet is really delicious, it has its own beach at one block of distance but the personal in the hotel takes you there, in the beach the hotel has a club which provides you food and drinks. The attention in the hotel is really good.

Exceded my expectations, great food, clean and charming rooms and nice and clean pool. Great and kind staff service, perfect for the ones that would like to combine their vacations with some sea activities since all these activities starts from Cruise dock which is 7 minutes away walking.

My fiancee and I had a wonderful time at this hotel when we traveled to Puerto Vallarta! I loved the atmosphere and feel of the hotel. ALL of the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was very nice and comfortable, with a pretty view of the pool area. We really enjoyed the food, and it was changed up every day, while still keeping some favorites available, and the bartenders made delicious drinks. We felt so welcomed at this hotel and will definitely come back to stay when continuing our adventures in Puerto Vallarta. I want to make a special shout-out to Aldo our server and Raina, our concierge for doing such an awesome job!

I want to mention some people that made our stay exceptional. Ivan a server in restraunt has known my parents for years and was so great. He's definitely a family friend. He took amazing care of us and was always very friendly and professional.Jairo, Gloria, Antonia and Sammy we're all very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we all were enjoying our holiday. Marisol was always on the go but made sure to stop and visit with us and especially my 18month old niece. We absoulety loved our holiday and will be returning to resort because of the incredible staff and accommodations. Also very convient location for various shopping.

Its a little mexican hotel with no access to the beach but a well distributed area of gardens, spa & a big pool, with a bar in the middle.
The spa is a must, at it have a private cabins that are in the middle of a little jungle with the sound of a river, as an extra it does have a temazcal, that is an antique Aztec sauna used to purified your body and soul, you can get a ceremony with a real chaman. Its definitly an experienced you should get when you visit mexico.

Beautiful resort. Loved the price. The food became bland after day 2, and the drinks felt watered down. They make you work for the all inclusive aspect here. Friendly and welcoming staff and lovely rooms. Wish there was more choice to food and better drinks.

Fantastic hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, they really know how to provide excellent customer service. The food is good quality and there is always variety. It's very safe too, there is private security and I always felt very safe throughout my stay. The only downside is maybe the Wi-Fi connection, but other than that I would highly recommend staying here.

Thank you Ivan, Claudia, Gloria and the Entire Staff, for making our vacation such a memorable and enjoyable time. We will be back again and again and again. You guys are Awesome!

I like the beach: it is in the shadow of 26-story high rise. So, you can play volleyball or paddle ball either in the shade or under the Sun - your choice.
The cons: a bit dated building.

My favourite place in Mexico! We just returned from two weeks there and I am missing it already. Cesar and all the staff always make us feel at home.

whow sure this hotel is not 3 canadian star and if you need your confort american food i m not sure this is for you. but this hotel is nice clean and the food fresh and tasty. the personel very kind and i will recommand it to all those how can try something else.this is realy a nice all inclusive mexican style

Just returned from a great week there. Wonderfull food, good service, simple but very clean rooms, lovely pool and nice beach facilities, 5 minute shuttle drive from hotel. Drawback, only lukewarm water in shower. The only requst they couldn't fix during our stay. And take pesos, american is not well accepted there. Met other returnees, will also return, great value. Ive visited the Hacienda Buenaven numerous times over yhe years and have always enjoyed my brief stay. Nice friendly atmosphere nothing is too much trouble.

I am in the middle of a 3 week stay and love it here. I rate it 5 stars in terms of quality for price. The staff is fantastic, food good, rooms clean & spacious. The all inclusive beach club is a short walk away, and the location is good for my needs. Maybe not for those who want a true 5 star experience, but great for my wish to have a laid back & friendly holiday.

We love this place and will keep coming back.

Spent four nights here with my wife and we were very pleased. Just a couple things to be aware of: (1) This places is catered toward Mexican families. That means the food might seem too foreign to appreciate for some folks. (2) They serve drinks in cheap plastic cups in the pool area, we recommend bringing your own reusable cup that they will be happy to refill it for you. (3) They will offer you breakfast and a day pass at a different resort the morning after you check-in. This is an effort to get you to sit through a sales presentation. (4) This location is not located on the beach. They do, however, have a beach club that you can use for free during the day. Your all-inclusive benefit extends to the beach club as well. (5) Don't miss the opportunity to dine in their restaurant which requires reservations. The entrees were delicious and an improvement over the buffet food.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay. We would consider staying again if we find ourselves in the Puerto Vallarta area.

food is great, service is so friendly, the facilities are well maintained. but if you are into a more luxurious experience would probably not be the place you're looking for. the beach is 5 min away walking from the lobby but there is also a free shuttle that takes you there. it's actually a place to go and relax, and listen to live music is a must.

It is a 4 star Hotel but I give it 5 starts because it is what it should be. The buffet style breakfast and lunch is great. You find the food to be good, from the recent made tortillas an hotcakes to the have it your way eggs and all the different foods they have. It does not matter if you are a vegetarian or a carnivore you will find something to eat. The customer service is great if you go to the buffet and you have Francisco as your server you would be well taken care. The snack bar offers from mix drinks to beer and sodas, pizza, hamburgers, nachos and a salad. The lobby restrooms are really clean and have AC for each one. It is wheelchair accessible so no one is left behind. The pool is not deep but it has a great size and it is always clean. It has a section for kids. They will do everything possible to satisfy your drinks. And if you want a private romantic dinner this is a place that will go out of its way to make it happen. They have an all inclusive and just room reservation. The structure of the Hotel makes you feel that you are in Puerto Vallarta when it was young and the movie The night of the iguanas was needing filmed. And if if you like iguanas you will have the opportunity to see them up close and personal. The price is really accessible for the quality you will receive. Enjoy a great time and forget about the stressful life.

Real Mexican building with thick brick and plaster walls. Mostly Mexicans are taking vacation here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is good. Drinks are made right. Highly recommended

Not on the beach but a short walk away. Snack options are limited to burger and hot dogs no fries and nachos and closes at 6. Pool closes at 8 so night swims are not an option. The staff is very nice and helpful especially Laura who is the day time manager. The hotel is located close to everything conveniently so most places are a short walk away. Over the hotel is satisfactory and would fit a boutique hotel Category.

We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel with every staff member smiling and willing to tend to our needs without hesitation. The food was hit and miss between flavor and options. Our room (320) air conditioning was less than desirable to be comfortable we had to call maintenance 2 times to fix the non performing system but their efforts didn't work so we gave up on asking and had a few nights of sweating, well at least I did. We had fun non the less visiting the plaza and an hour or so drive to Sayulita (which we recommend instead of Vallarta and are definitely staying on our next trip, everything is walking distance, more condensed and convenient)

Great enviornment. Staff is amazing, great pool area with bar. Just the bathrooms didn't have vents and smelled odd buy the stay was great. Overall would recommend to everyone. Very close to bus stop and many people in the area speak English. Walking distance from the beach which has amazing sunsets everyday, bring a can of mosquito repellant.

Just loved everything about Hacienda Buenaventura....so cosy and community like. Delicious food, clean rooms and public places. The staff is the best...hospitable, helpful and friendly! Special kudos to Quick!!!! Will definitely go back!

Wonderful place. Can't wait to go back! Very low key and relaxing. Great staff, food, and entertainment. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach. When you arrive to the beach club it is more free food and drinks. 9 out 10

Excelent service and infrastructure, renewed

Hotel was cute. We didn't get the room we paid for. Food was ok but really the same stuff daily with a few twists the ribs on bbq night were amazing. The staff were mostly very friendly, they don't speak a lot of English though. The pool and grounds were well maintained but the pool bathroom wasn't. The location was great for getting around and though the walk to the beach was short we missed being on the beach.

Es una hacienda del siglo XX no muy rústica, por dentro no se asemeja a una hacienda. Tiene muy poca variedad en comida mexicana, se maneja mas en comida europea, el servicio del personal es bueno y amable. En los bares no cambian su música por lo general estuve 3 dias y solamente repetían como 10 canciones en todo el día durante los tres días. En los horarios que bienen en Internet sobre horarios de reservas para cenar, bares, y entre otros no se asemejan en los que maneja el hotel y solamente te dicen que no es problema y por estas cuestiones no pudimos acceder a varios servicios que tienen en el hotel

Its a Nice hotel, the food is very good at the restaurants but not at the beach or the snack bar.

The parking is really far far away and theres no other entrance from there, you have to walk all the way from/to your car and the hotel.

The rooms are ok and the TV have so many channels!

This is a traditional Mexican hotel. Lots of wood, stucco, and other old Mexico touches. Too many areas available for smoking mean it's hard to find a smoke-free area. Good food with wide variety in the restaurant. Separate beach area close enough to walk to, or there is a shuttle.

The resort was excellent. The staff that really helped us was Laura, Francisco, Claudia and Ivan to name a few. Caesar (the resort manager) took the time to help us acclimatise with the surroundings. He was awesome. Make sure you do take a few tours to help you understand what Mexico is all about. Soriana is the best shopping center to buy curios from Mexico.

Great place for a price we paid few years ago. Walking distance to beach club, regular Mexican food and drinks. Customer service ok. Will visit again if come across good deal. Not worth if one will pay asking price.
