Very clean and spacious rooms with kitchenette and cozy bed. Good space in the dining area. At 30 minutes from South Padre, just about close enough. Very close to the border too

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We had 36 young girls plus chaperones and parents with us this weekend and they went out of their way to accommodate our needs. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

The staff was friendly and courteous, rooms were clean and in good shape. It's not far from the beach, they also have a pool, full court basketball, and an area dedicated to barbecuing and hanging out.

Fabulous free dinner and drinks served at Happy Hour. My room is also very comfortable with a decent sized kitchen for my long stay! Maintenance came out very quickly when I had a small issue, and it was resolved immediately and professionally. This hotel is a great location relative to where I'm working, too. Overall very happy so far!

Nice staff. The rooms are kind of outdated but are still in decent shape. Bed is comfortable and not worn out.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Brownsville has probably been the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Our company and team (approximately 10 -13 people at a time) stayed here extensively throughout a project that lasted right around a year. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and hospitable. They went out of their way to ensure everyone was happy, rooms were in tip-top shape, and satisfactions were met across the board. There were 0 complaints from any of our team members only sincere appreciation for having a home away from home.

Some things that I personally believe which made the Homewood stand out from other hotels within the area include:
- the staff who were always kind and patient with us. We all worked very long hours and sometimes needed things delivered or updated immediately which they always did their best to respond to. They also asked us how we were doing, had nothing but big smiles, they were easy to approach, quick to please, and eager to help. We really got to know everyone there and realize how hard of workers everyone there is, Thank you!

- the rooms were consistently clean and tidy throughout the entire building, since we had such a large group coming in and out, no one was ever left with the short end of the stick, which made it easier for our logistics and to help everyone feel more at home. Sheets were always fresh, pillows fluffy, and rooms never smelly (even when we brought most of the smells). What we mostly appreciated was the kitchen area that came fully stocked and ready to go for any cooking, which was awesome!

-the food was amazing! everyday they offered different breakfasts made with REAL eggs, bacon or sausage, a waffle maker, cereal, oatmeal bar, bagels, fruit, cottage cheese, yogurt, coffee, juice, water, muffins, you name it! they mixed it up so you could make burritos one day or biscuits and gravy another or even an omelets! Additionally they also did an evening social with beer, wine, and snacks which were always tasty, especially after a long day in the field.

-Finally the amenities, they have a great grilling area which our team liked to use to grill up any fish we had caught on the island (only 30 minutes away), steaks, ribs or burgers. The area is well lit, comfortable and just next to the pool and basketball courts. It was a great way to interact with other guests, the staff, and just relax when we did have time off.

All in all, I would highly suggest this hotel to anyone and everyone. Its a home run for any family, company, individual, or couple. Thank you so much for everything over and over again. Y'all were such a help and so glad we got to get to know you guys!

This is the place to stay in Brownsville. Excellent breakfast with real eggs. Complementary dinner mon-thurs with drinks. Nice rooms. Affordable pricing. Friendly staff. Best place I stayed at in South Texas.

Was amazing had a wonderful view of paradise and i wish i could go back!! They even have their own dishes like an apartment!! Sp you dont have to buy dishes to cook!! Have a pool,breakfast, and its just so nice!!

This is my second stay at this Homewood suites. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have a great layout. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and we'll stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

Friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Air conditioner was not working but I did not need it. There were no towels in the gym on Wednesday and 1 of the treadmills was not working the whole week I was there. Food was great snd it was a comfortable stay.

Very nice Hotel. They have very comfortable beds and is quiet. Only down side was there was no hot water the entire stay. Just like warm.

Decent for the price, clean rooms and generally friendly staff. Do not expect to have a useful kitchenette; partially equipped with less than basic essentials. Wasted a lot of food for lack of basic pans/utinsils.

Fantastic place! The meals are very welcome and enjoyable. My only room for complaint is not providing free use of the laundry machines.

Nice stay! We got the 2 king bedroom suite. We cooked in the kitchen. Functional room and great hospitality. Only down side was breakfast. Didn't have sausage or bacon to go with the eggs and waffles.

Not up to Hilton standards!!
I just completed a 6 night stay at this hotel and here are my observations.

Pros:
1. Room was clean.
2. Breakfast and Evening social food was outstanding. The evening social food was more like a full meal!!
3. Daily cookies and lemonade for when you come back from a hot day in Brownsville.

Cons:
1. We had 4 people in our room and it took till the 5th day of reminder for them to actually give me 4 towels. Each day, they gave me 3 and I had to call down and ask for more.
2. The pullout sofa mattress was so poor that you could feel the springs through it. We had to go to Walmart and buy a blow up mattress for my son.
3. Each day, we would leave early and work. We were on a mission trip. We would return from noon to 5:30 and then leave again for the evening. We told them of this the 1st morning we were there and they made a note of it. Each day, housekeeping would come while we were in the room and we had to leave. Each day, I reminded those at the front desk and they said they had a note of it but the housekeeping supervisor was not following it.

If I go back to Brownsville, I would probably try another hotel even though I'm an strong Hilton Honor member.

Clean, good good and service

The man who worked the front desk was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Brownsville. His name, if I recall correctly, was Suresh. He provided me with everything I needed to know to experience Brownsville.

It has a nice location, pretty close to every kind of restaurants in town. The suite is pretty big and well equipped (kitchen, cutlery, fridge)

After a long, difficult flight, we arrived after midnight. I was prepared to argue for our room, as I have done in the past at other hotels but to my surprise the night manager was extremely helpful and had our room waiting. He greeted us warmly, was accommodating to correct a double booking that we had created by accident, addressed the refund right away and got us our keys quickly.

We were up in our room pretty fast. It was just right with a small living room, kitchenette that was fully equipped and a nice looking bedroom and bathroom. It looks like the roo.s have been recently renovated and they look great. Very comfortable but tastefully appointed and pleasant to be in. Everything was very clean, the big bed was comfortable and the pillows big and fluffy.

The outside provided a pretty pool, tennis and a lovely sitting area where you can rest.

I am definitely returning to Homewood again, for most of my travels in fact.

Came to Brownsville for business and for an overnight stay I was very impressed with Homewood suites. Staff was nice and my room was more than I expected.

Excellent service. Good amenities. The hotel is in the middle of a renovation but the redone rooms are perfectly nice. The complementary breafast was much better than expected and the hotel hosts weekly social hours with free beer for the guests. The next time I come to Brownsville i won't hesitate to stay at the homewood suites.

Nice staff, replaced our tv twice too fix a persistent brightness issue, not their fault, issue with LG tv's and hotel mode programming. Hilton needs to fix this at all their sites. Clean, nice, new, great amenities, free transportation around town. Ice cold AC

I think that this is a great place to stay!

Okay first the good:

Room seemed clean. Fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed that did not seem to have any bugs. BEST OF ALL: THEY HAVE SMOKING ROOMS AVAILABLE!!!! (It's the only half-way decent place in town that does, apparently). Rooms are big. We had a noisy family in the room next door (lots of kids) and we couldn't hear a peep from them inside the room. Nice massaging shower head. The young lady that worked front desk at night is very nice, very helpful, and well informed. (She gave us some great tips on places to eat. (She's also very pretty, I might add)). Good coffee in the morning.

Now the bad:

Only two luggage carts and nobody will offer to help with your stuff. This is really a problem during the peak season and everyone wants to check out at the same time.

I told the person that took my reservation to only use the credit card to make the res because I was going to pay with another card. When I checked in I told the front desk the same thing. The day before I checked out I called down to remind them. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED! Yup! The morning I was to check out I found a receipt under the door where they did indeed charge the credit card.

The first night we were there, we couldn't find a remote for the TV so I called down and asked for one. The tough guy on the other end of the line said (and I quote): "We don't have any right now. You're gonna have to wait until morning". This alone is not enough to grind my gears (thank you Peter). It was what happened the next day that made me mad. That morning, I told the pretty lady behind the desk about it. She apologized profusely for her co-workers attitude and for the occurrence and offered me the lobby remote until they could get another one. You do the math. Tough guy obviously had a remote and did not want to relinquish it to a guest because he is too lazy to go over and manually change the channel on the Lobby TV. And too lazy to do his job. Really, how hard is it to say I'm sorry"?"

We didn't have much for breakfast so I could really opine.

Lastly the room was really smelly. (Smoking room). We fixed that with some Lysol sprayed profusely around the AC intake and the rest of the room. I want to know why housekeeping could do the very same thing. I would also like to know why I found the previous guest's pop tart wrapper behind the TV.

Sorry guys, 3 stars is the best I can do for you. For what it is worth: We WILL stay here again next time but only because i am more interested in being able to smoke in my room and I like having a fully functioning kitchen at my disposal. Plus, the bed really was very comfy.
