Enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable - but not as fancy as expected by their advertisements

From the outside it doesn't seem like a hotel, but walk inside you'll understand. Interior and exterior it looks old, but don't let that fool you. You are greeted by a friendly staff member at the counter. There are no elevators but it's a 2 story building so not much walking. Once you get to your room you'll be absolutely satisfied. Upon entry we are greeted with 2 big single beds. Everything in the room was clean and spacious. Washrooms were extremely clean and roomy as well. My only complaint is that the floors and walls are not noise proof. As you walk it's creeps. The doors slam shut for the washrooms so I can only imagine what the room below us is going through. Also the TV is awkwardly placed so it was hard to see if you are lying on the bed that was farther away from it. We had continental breakfast included which was good. It's had everything you need to get your day started (different kinds of breads, cereal, milk, juice, yogurt, fruits, pastries, tree, coffee/espresso machine). For an extra $5 you can get some eggs and sides. Overall this was a great experience and I would definitely come back.

What a pity this great character hotel on St Kilda Rd is to be knocked down to build more apartments. My wife and I had a very pleasant stay here in a nice and relaxed environment with friendly staff, particularly Jonathon on the front desk who was very helpful with local knowledge on eateries (pointed us to Cafe Rosco's). Would have come back but not to be.

Loved this place, great alternative to some of the 'generic' hotels that are very over priced.

Stayed at Hotel Charsfield a over a year ago but very pleasant experience. Reception staff were nice except when the lady stuffed up my bill when we were leaving. Room service was good and good service at breakfast in the restaurant. Food was a little bit expensive though. Overall very satified.

Wednesday Night:
Sat for 15 to 20 mins waiting for service in Restaurant, only 1 other table with dinners
No one to be seen even at Bar
Left without dinning will not go back again
