Food at dinner and breakfast buffet was quite limited in options and second rate quality wise. Rooms felt very empty like half the furniture had been removed. Plus $14.95 for a in house movie is crazy!!

Service is good. From reception to room cleaning it is typical Novotel. The room is large as advertised but it is old and isn't 4 star as expected from Novotel. This is a massive departure from my experience with other Novotel properties. Plus there are no slippers, free bottle of water or free wifi. Not what is expected from the Novotel brand. But the room is clean and the service is good. If you are a regular Novotel visitor then temper your expectations.

The price and location aren't an issue but more the rooms are quite basic. One time we stayed here, the aircon didn't work and when we asked the staff they said there was nothing they could do. Other than that the hotel does it's job and we've enjoyed our multiple stays.

We had a wonderful renovated room on the 31st floor looking out at the Surfers Paradise Beach. The bed was slightly harder than ideal, but the pillows were great. The restaurant on site is below cafe standard in quality but for the price worthwhile- buffet all you can eat. The staff were very friendly and happy to give the extra time for my questions. My only issue with the room was a weak air conditioner and a weak shower. One of the best locations, would recommend, especially for the price.

We are staying at Room on 15th floor. I like this hotel as it is close to everything (woolworths, beach, restaurants, shopping, etc) and offers value for money. Breakfast offers variety but does not change much if you stay for longer period. Standard rooms are unfurnished and are at lower levels which is not mentioned on booking sites. Hotel will going through renovations from May 17 but until then guests have to live with cracks in wall, non working lamp, old vanity with plenty of marks.

Located at the heart of surfers paradise, room is clean. Bed is comfortable. The staff members who works at night was creating loud noise which could be heard. Service at the counter desk was extremely prompt and efficient. 5 star stay

Located in an excellent position. Staff have been pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean and well presented. Parking is shocking for the expense and the internet has been essentially non existent. When it works it's terribly slow. Overall a little disappointed.

Got a free upgrade to an amazing room. Great view, overlooking the beach and ocean.
Excellent location, close to everything you need, especially if you don't have a car.

Right in the heart of Surfers Paradise where all the action is. The hotel is still much the same as when it was the Grand Chancellor so it is in need of a renovation. In saying that, the ocean view suite was great. Especially with a family of 4. The room was one of their upgraded ones so it had better decor than some of their other regular rooms. Check in and check out was easy and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. A great value hotel now that it is part of the Accor brand. I'm looking forward to their full renovation that I was told will be happening soon.

Staff are lovely but facilities are well below standard. Tiny rooms and unfinished outdoor areas. The people next door to us use their shower often and it squeals through our room enough to wake us up. Parking is hit and miss. Cocktails in the bar are good and the location is perfect.

Very helpful staff. Decent breakfast buffets served here. Amazing view. Had stayed here on the 30th floor, must say it has an amazing view. The prices of the rooms are decent for a traveler. Located at a five minutes walk from the beach. No security issues.

Nice hotel in an excellent location. Close to all the amenities needed. Lovely pool and spa, concierge and reception where helpful in all regards. Car parking available on site yet shared with supermarket parking, can sometimes be difficult to find a spot. Wifi is not so useful however and there where multiple elevators out of service. Hotel had changed names after original booking which caused some delays but other then that hotel was great. Fantastic views too.

5

Room was kind of expensive, but I guess that's the gold coast for you... Bathroom door was kind of falling apart though.. And the pillows? Like what? The pillows are like 3 pillows stuffed into one... So big! And there was no other spare pillows in the room. Just ended up sleeping without one. Other than that, the room was decent and clean. Well located if you want to check out surfers paradise.

Had a great couple of nights here. The room was very reasonable for the price. Had a great view of the ocean and overlooking Cavill Ave. The hotel is in a very convenient location, as you have the Cavill Avenue shops and mall right at the front door. Definitely will return to the Grand Chancellor.

Friends and I stayed here one night. Aside from a kind of...odd reception (we booked on Expedia and they couldn't find our reservation for a minute), underground parking with poor signage and painful for SUVs/trucks, and a service charge to pay using a credit card, this place is quite nice. Little more than a block from the beach, shopping, restaurants and nightlife, with an incredibly helpful concierge to boot. The only issue we ran into was that the mini fridge seemed to be connected to the power circuit for the room - it wasn't cold when we arrived and took a few hours to get cold enough to chill our drinks. We didn't check out any of the amenities (pool/spa/tennis/gym) of the hotel, but given the overall experience with the room I would definitely stay here again! We ended up in a 26th floor room facing the city, it was very quiet and the view was spectacular.

Great clean rooms as expected. We had the buffet dinner with a slight hiccup (which happens) but was handled expertly and professionally. Beautiful buffet breakfast. Will definitely be back there. Only place to stay at Surfers. Bad side is VERY POOR WIFI..... This day and age it should be better

Location: Excellent (close to transportation, shops, Restaurants & the Beach).
Clean: It is not very clean hotel. I found a COCKROACH at the bathroom. Also the bathroom at the first floor not very clean.
Staff: Most of them are friendly and helpful.
Noise: you can hear street noise very clear.

My family of 5 (3 kids aged 17, 14 & 4) stayed for 2 nights in Deluxe family room on the 33rd floor last month. We had the best time. Kids loved every minute of the stay...especially the location. Cavill Ave at your doorstep, beach a stones throw away. The room was very clean & modern (great view of surfers) Buffet breakfast was pricey even though we had 2 for 1 vouchers but I guess it's about the experience lol. Parking was good but we had to pay $15 per day. Staff were great to deal with especially when we needed extra towels. Pool was awesome...kids loved it. Definitely go back...Highly recommend to all! Only thing that I would suggest is do not make any local calls from your room as I was charged $7 for a 2min call to our home in Brisbane...ouch.
