Hotel Las Palmas By the Sea

Hotel Las Palmas By the Sea

Being one of the most traditional hotels in the city with 40 years of life and tradition our visitors have enjoyed our good taste for decades in keeping with the mysticism and flavor of Puerto Vallarta.
Las Palmas by the Sea is proud to be a 100pct Mexican Company founded by Mr. Ernesto Cruz in 1973 on the Las Palmas beach hence taking the name of this beautiful property with only 12 rooms.
In 1974 Mr. Gabriel Igartua stays at the hotel and upon loving it decides to form a partnership with Mr. Ernesto Cruz to help the property flourish and build 90 more rooms. In 1977 the construction is finished and Mr. Flavio Romero de Velazco Governor of the State of Jalisco attends the hotels inauguration.

LAS PALMAS BY THE SEA
AN EMBLEM OF PUERTO VALLARTA

By 1979 the hotel has 153 rooms and is reopened by architect Roseell de Lama Secretary of Tourism. Due to the preference and constant desire of tourists to stay at Las Palmas it was decided to enlarge the hotel to 221 rooms by 1996.
In a strange and unfortunate event 2002 is remembered for suffering the ravages of Hurricane Kenna beating the citys bay and destroying the entire ground floor of the property but that allowed a new phase to improve the facilities and infrastructure offering cutting edge service.
Currently the hotel has 225 rooms and enjoys constant improvements and renovations which allow us to follow all our visitors taste.

Las Palmas by the Sea is strategically situated on the beach in the heart of Puerto Vallartas Hotel Zone just 10 minutes from the International Airport and 10 minutes from the downtown Malecon where you can find shops restaurants art galleries nightclubs and more.

Room: 4.5 because we stayed in the room with amazing view of the ocean. Room 411.

Services: 4... Buffet servers were amazing.
A la carte @ fusion... I'll give it a 2. There was only one table and we asked if we could go in. They refused without reservations. They were able to do it for other guests

Very nice staff. Clean hotel. Good pools. 1 for adults only. Absolutely NOT wheelchair accessible, I don't care what the website says! Terrible food. I mean really bad. If it hadn't been for the omelets in the morning I'm not sure what I'd have done. Almost no meat. Lots of hotdogs used all kinds of ways. No whole fruits. No guacamole. No shrimp unless you buy it. Family friendly. Ocean swimming. Even a resident crocodile for local color! But don't stay here unless you really like hotdogs!

Firstly : this resort does not have a DESIGNATED SMOKING SECTION - (other than in the dining room)...which means that smokers freely smoke anywhere they like. This includes the adult pool - where you are
constantly breathing in the second hand smoke. It's not pleasant. Secondly: this is a very old hotel - in desperate need of renovations. My first room had no balcony, broken window - which was off the track and wouldn't close properly, and bed a hard as concrete. After 3 nights my back was so bad that I had to change rooms. I did get a better bed - and a balcony - but the constant BOOM BOOM BOOM of the disco on the main street kept me up until 4:00 AM when it closed. To add to that - the NORTH section of the resort is built like an echo chamber. This means drunken idiots are hooting, hollering, and slamming doors all through the night. This goes on almost every night. The adult pool is a great temperature and the staff are very kind. The resort is in a good location. BUT -if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation - I wouldn't recommend it. Oh and the food - just "okay"....nothing is really tasty. Even the fruit juices are watered down so much that it's hard to distinguish which juice you're drinking. They had no quacumole, ice-cream - butter, bacon - it just seemed like they were trying to save money and cut costs wherever they could. That was my first time at the Las Palmas and it will be my last. When I see the "great" reviews for this place - I wonder if these folks have traveled often - what are they comparing this to???...... Yikes

Stayed for a week. Everything was amazing, except the buffet which was a bit hit or miss but the a la carte restaurant and snack bar were great options, also lots of good food around the resort to try. Staff was incredible especially Antonio the bellman and Jose from the "fun team". Not many upscale amenities in the room but we were only in there to sleep and shower and it was fine for that. Definitely planning to come back to PV and we will stay here again.

just came back from spending a week there. i give it a 4 out of 5. loved the resort people were really good. David the bartender is AMAZING. resort was almost perfect. the only 2 negative things i have to say would be the beds were awful felt like i was sleeping on a brick. and this resort really NEEDS a smoking area. Being a non smoker and inhaling all this 2nd hand smoke from all the smokers made it really unpleasant for me.

Three star resort due to: cleanliness, mattress quality, and room quality.

Four to five star resort with regards to: food quality, staff, and view.

There was a small food selection but the Mexican food was delicious, including the tacos and quesadillas. The staff were amazing, especially David the lobby bartender and Christian the quesadilla maker.

My one complaint is with regards to the clientele. My friend and I were hit on and harassed daily by Canadian/American guests, which was bothersome and annoying. I would not go back to this resort with only a female a friend. I’d opt to go with a larger group, my family, or boyfriend because honestly, it was tiring.

Decent amenities, friendly service, economical, but a bit noisy - doors don't insulate the sound of people talking, laughing, etc.

It's great for the price. The food was not very good, but you can't beat the location (being right on the beach) and the price. *For the best rates, book in late October or November.

It's a older establishment, but the staff were very passionate about providing service. Food was good, not on demand like others, but still practically around the clock. Don't expect fancy 5 star cuisine here, but it's still good food.

Las Palmas has the best staff I've ever encountered at an all-inclusive. They were attentive and very friendly. We tipped generously, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. They were as good with those that left nothing, as they were with us. The rooms were very clean and had a lovely Mexican rustic feel and decor. The hotel was clean and very beautiful, with some of the best ocean views in Vallarta. The buffet was great. There was so much food for myself as a vegetarian, and for my husband too. The a la carte was really terrific, and a must for anyone staying there.
A few things to pass on. All food is served outside, including the a la carte. You need to get used to flies and fruit flies around your food. There was no avoiding them. The beach was not great, with a lot of garbage by the end of the day. The pool got a little cloudy, so we skipped it for a couple of days until it cleared up. There are no mini fridges in the rooms, so be ready for warm water bottles. The time share salespersons are right in the hotel, so be prepared for a lot of hard sell. Just say no, and go on your way. This is a three star hotel, that is so clean, and with such great staff that I had to give it four stars. I would probably not go again, just because I was so tired of outdoor eating by the end of the week.

My family and I got the all inclusive. At arrival to the Hotel the bell boy was very nice, helpful with our luggage and guide us to the check in lobby. We checked in around 1:45pm but the room was not ready until 3:00pm. We where offer to wait at the restaurant or if we want to swim we had option A: pool or option B: beach. They have bathroom where people can change and showers next to the beach. We went with option B: The beach, my little one could not resist the sound of the waves smaking softly with the sand. (By the way our luggage was left with the bell boy. They have a storage place and will provide you with a coupon/receipt.) Coution the ocean/beach where the hotel is located not suitable for kid's in my opinion is more for I want to say teens but more for adults that know how to swim. The reason is: Not to sure if the hotels or by nature I guess, they mark there territory but they have big rocks that go from the hotels starting point all the way down to the sea from both ends. They sand at waive break is full of little rocks mix with all the oyster shells that local seller's eat and dump in the ocean from what I saw. Pass the break point of the waves it just drops in depth, no issues with rip current but the pull of the braking waive is strong and add the little rocks with shell's does not make it easy to balance. Do watch your kids!!! Local folks had share some unfortunate stories with me. I'm in day 3 of 5 my toddler is fully awake and ready to go. I will post and upload more pictures later.

Don't recommend this place at all. The food was okay but they don't change the variety , one of the ladies that clean the rooms stole my sunglasses and also some money so if you stay at this hotel don't leave your stuff laying around. Also we had the worst room ever, it was all the way at the end we didn't have a view to the beach and also the air condition sucked, i'm never going here ever again.

This is a good hotel with a local charm. They have activities all day and a program in the night. Staff are friendly. The only drawback I felt is that they had only a few options for a vegetarian like me in their restaurants.
