Great hotel , a bit old and it's visible but the service is amazing. Room was clean very well kept and large. View was right on to the beach and the hotel seemed very empty. The pool was nice and relaxing and the hotel is very cozy and everything is close by. The beach was a little smaller than anticipated but it is very private and there is no other hotel around. Getting to the hotel was not easy as it's one of the furthest away and you have to go over lots of hills in complete darkness. But overall it's truly a great hotel with great value for money.

This hotel may be a little more expensive than the other hotels in this part of Koh Chang but it definitely is worth it. It is clean and well maintained. Rooms are clean and quite spacious. There are lots of other places to eat in the area but if you prefer the hotel restaurant, the food there is not bad either. If money is no object, and you want some privacy, book the villa with private pool and Jacuzzi. Standard rooms are also goo and clean if you just need somewhere to sleep after spending the day by the pool or the beach.

Beach clean but not ideal for swimming,as tide is very low at all times.

Good to be back. Been here on December 2014 and now on March 2018. The hotel is great! The facilities are in terrific shape, the staff is very nice and the WiFi problems we had 3 years ago are gone. Great place to stay.

If you like some privacy then this is the place, hotel has all facilities from large pool, private beach, food & drink, fitness, kid's room, spa, etc. I stayed in Pool villa which is nice pool size with jacuzzi. Good breakfast and food at the hotel restaurant. The bad side, a bit too far on the other side on the island but no problem if you drive here just on the tiny road. Another issue mosquito but hotel do have spayin-room and spay outdoor on daily basis. Overall, my family very happy & enjoy our vacation.

Helpful staff. Impressive and variety choices of breakfast. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Nothing to complain about! Best for family and couples.

Good property but rooms could do with a face-lift. Great views and an ideal location for a quiet getaway. Not many options around so and everything shuts by 930 pm or so. Staff are courteous but need training and the place needs a good duty manager.

The location is great, far enough out of the central tourist areas to remain quiet, but still has its own beach and is near enough to local mini marts and restaurants. The facilities themselves are fine, if needing a coat of paint in places. The beach bar and broad shading tree are excellent. The front desk staff seemed scattered. Anything I wanted to be done required me to call at least twice before anything happened. This was frustrating.

Great breakfast with a huge variety of choices and they mix it up every day, good rooms with soft bed and thorough cleaning by housekeeping.

The beach at the hotel is relaxed and nice but we usually took the motorbike(which you can rent at the hotel) too a beach close by because lunch was cheaper and the water was better for snorkling. All in all a good stay at Mercure.

The one thing to point out is that the staff wanted us to make a deposit of 7.000 baht upon check-in in case we would use minibar or get a massage at hotel. Never heard of anything similar to this but we deposited and got everything back.

What can I say.... The best resort I've ever been to. It's basically right on Bailan beach. Plenty of activities to do. Relax by the beach or in the swimming pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful and went beyond their duty to accommodate us. We had a fantastic stay in Mercure Koh Chang. I had never seen such kind hospitality and the variety of food available. If you're looking for a resort to rest and relax in Ko Chang, then this is it. No other place that can compare it in terms of value.

Was upgraded on beach side room: everything's great. Staff are very friendly and smilling... but that is Thailand. Great continental breakfast are, with choice of Thai food and breakfast buffet. Very quiet place. Nice accommodation for rest. A lot to thinhe to see with Taxi, air nd the island: eelephant, water fall, Pier and boats, jungle and small monkeys...

Was supper fun! We went for 4 nights, two parents and two kids in two separate rooms. From the first warm welcoming staff till the last moment we left the service was above and beyond! The hotel located at a the quiet side of the island, and has a private beach. Food is very tasty and the prices are very reasonable. Thank you Mercure Koh Chang for a great time! We are definitely looking forward to visiting you again.

Must stay here or even visit and have cocktail or beer on the beach. Beautiful.

Private beach, fitness gym, pool, rental boat, rental bicycle and night performances on beach which you can enjoy.

Even it is located far away from ferry port but it is worth when compared to things you can get with medium budget.

The rooms and hotel were ok but mosquitos and services were not ok

After a mess up with our booking we where lucky to be upgraded to one of the private villas and it was absolutely spectacular! You get your own pool and spa, it's large and comfortable and nice and secluded away from the main entrance and close to the beach.

Wasn't too impressed by the way the woman at the front desk handled our room issue or the issue our friends had with their room needing to be cleaned, from what they relayed to us she was very rude.
The rest of the stay there was fantastic though.

The poolside rooms a quaint but nice and the pool there is really lovely, great place to sit and chat and have some drinks :)

The views are beautiful, there is a tree top zip line climb next door, towns aren't far so you can easily get a cheap way there, we just hired some scooters (be prepared though, everyone around here asks to hold onto your passport for scooter hire!! We found one woman who we got to take a deposit and our license instead, so you have be forceful and do not hand over your passport)

Food here was alright, nothing amazing, their breakfast buffet was pretty darn good though, cheesy toast is delicious haha

Given the chance we would stay here again but would probably opt for the upgrade from the start.

A really upmarket hotel with all the bells and whistles. Very expensive restaurant and bar but amazing service.

Beautiful hideaway. Clean and new rooms. Next to the beach. 2 swimming pools. Lots of places to relax and sit and friendly staff. Maybe we will come back one day.

Great place for a family get away!

Great secluded Hotel with clean and spacious rooms. The prices for the rooms tend to be higher than on the mainland, but are still quite cheap. The western breakfast is good and there is the option to choose a buffet for breakfast or dinner as well (a bit pricey). There are a few restaurants in the area which are way cheaper. The hotel doesn't rent scooters, but refers to a rental a few meters down the road. After negotiating a little, you can get a scooter pretty cheap to explore the island. The hotel has a nice 'private' beach and a small pool. The seawater is only waist-high for a couple hundred meters, but the ground has some sharp stones and mussles.

We got the room with a private pool, which was great. But actually the whole hotel area is very calm and quiet and secluded so for us it's a great resort. The only things I have to remark on are that the restaurant is a bit expensive, and the cleaning sometimes isn't top notch (leaves and branches not cleaned from the outside pool and Jacuzzis, some dead insects here and there, etc, nothing too bad).

Great private beach, two fantastic swimming pools, expensive food and drink, poolside bar was terrible, ordered pina colada and margarita, both flavorless and 200 baht plus 17 percent tax and service. Not much in surrounding walking area, but if you like privacy, good place. Beds were hard too

Great value for money here! Nice rooms, good restaurant, and a clean semi-private beach. Several looks. The Wi-Fi doesn't always connect to the rooms further from the lobby.

Very happy with this hotel, which was not particularly expensive. Had pouring rain for most of stay, but the hotel made it enjoyable. New, clean and stylish throughout, including the room, which was literally next to a nice pool. A hotel you want to take photos of when you arrive. Beach looked nice, especially at sunset, but was not really useable, although maybe because it was low season. Minor gripe was they gave us only one key card, which is annoying.

Lots of debris on the beach, staff not attentive, an unnecessarily complicated wifi sign on. Great pool for the kids and fantastic views from every room.

Avoid the pizza - toppings are very good, the pizza base not very good.
