Was recommended this hotel by a colleague, really nice hotel, very clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing!

The bed was too small (the measurement was not written in the booking page but in the confirmation e-mail. one twin is only 90cm width). The floor carpet was dirty. The remote had leaking battery inside and didn't work. the coffee machine in the room was dirty and didn't work neither. Honestly disappointed compared to other hotel nikko. Though the breakfast was good.

Facility was nice for the price and place of the hotel. Service of staff was OK. Quality of Japanese food in breakfast was below expectation. Especially, taste of rice was very bad. Hope it is improved.

When researching hotels, we chose Hotel Nikko as it had a pool. There was no mention of additional costs to use the pool and we assumed this was included in the hotel price. When checking in we were told about breakfast and that it would be extra, we said No. The next morning we asked what floor the pool was and were told that we would have to pay 15 euros a day to use the pool/spa facility. Outrageous!!
Also the coffee/tea facility used pods, we had to call reception a few times for tea refills and also for toilet paper as it was not replaced when room was cleaned.
The room was clean, spacious and hotel was close to the train station. However attention to detail and the pool put a bit of a downer on our stay.

Good hotel in a good location, walking distance from the Kö. Japanese style, in the Japanese area of Dusseldorf. Plenty of small shops downstairs, for luxury products but also hairdressers. Bit busy at the front desk though, you almost always have to wait a few minutes. Rooms are decent, clean and very silent / well isolated. Giant place, we normally don't book and just walk in, and they basically always have rooms available.

I really like Hotel Nikko. Their restaurant is amazing and the hotel rooms too! They also got a nice gift store where I like to shop for おみやげ (omiyage) from Germany for my Japanese friends and family.

Hotel Nikko Dusseldorf is a lovely contemporary hotel in the center of the Asian district. Plenty of Sushi, and other Asian type restaurants around. Hotel is located about a 15-minute stroll from the Altstadt (Old Town) and every restaurant and shopping option you might imagine.

The rooms at the Nikko are expansive and very well maintained. I may have had one of those unusual odd-shaped rooms because it was extra big. Bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water in the large shower.

I only spoke with the main desk staff and they were wonderful. Didn't eat in the hotel.

Excellent staff. Nice big rooms. Air conditioning isn't great so some rooms are stuffy and too warm. Accommodating my request for a cooler room was handled nicely.

I went at this hotel for one night business trip.
The service is good, people helpful and nice bar for a drink.
Excellent Japanese restaurant within the hotel...
The only negative point was the wifi which didn't work well in the bedroom.
I could not work and sent my business reports

The hotel is very nice with good service. Big clean rooms, good beds. Nice breakfast.
The only thing I had problems with was the aircondition. I couldn't get it down under 26,3 degrees.
I talked to the reception, and they would send someone up to look at it....it never happened. so it was 3 hot nights. They should have some summer blankets in the rooms during the summertime, instead of the very thick once.
And also the drain in the shower was almost blocked, so only very short showers. I informed about that when I checked out, so they could fix it before new guests would arrive. They thanked me for that.
In total, it was a good stay at the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with 3 persons, one of them used a electronic wheelchair. The room we got was perfect it was large and clean. There was enough space for a third bed and for the wheelchair. The bathroom was nice aswell and the airco was super cold which was a life saver with the super hot weather. Breakfast was lovely and everything is wheelchair accessible. The only negatives were that the couch had a huge hole in. Furthermore we had a lovely stay.

They've recently renovated the whole hotel. The rooms are better than before. The bed is fluffy, free spa and their restaurant is excellent. Nothing to complain about it. If you find the breakfast/restaurant too expensive then i recommend people to explore the area. There are many cafe, onigirishop, restaurants around the area.

It was our first time in Dusseldorf. The hotel was very relaxing and rooms were very spacious. I couldn't work tap on bath so had to fill it up with shower but that wasn't a major problem. Very clean breakfast was ok 1less stress to worry about. Pool was cold but once in didn't mind. Would definitely stay here again

In the process of renovation work some area's are nice. In some areas there are building activities.
The conference floor was great. The breakfast was excellent. However in my room the sink of the shower was blocked. They didn't fix it for the next day.

Really nice hotel, nice staff, nice food but good lord the ACs do not work. It would be 5 stars if they only fixed the ACs. My room was at 31 degrees last night but got moved to a room I cannot cool more than 24 degrees. Considering I live in a hot country and always have the ACs on, it's difficult to get comfortable. Oh and you cannot open the window.

4

Unfortunate that they were renovating the hotel - and didn't warn us in advance. They also had major problems with the heating system (it was very hot in the bedrooms and corridors) and the pool area is looking very shabby and in need of repair and modernisation. The breakfast was very ordinary so unless it is included in your room price I would suggest you go to one of the nice cafes nearby. On the plus side, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is well situated and we have stayed here as a family several times in the past and until this time, we have always enjoyed it.

Great staff, very helpful and courteous. Very clean and stylish & elegant room. Great location with a quite room and very comfortable bed. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I travel a lot international as well as within the US. This hotel definitely deserves more than just 5 stars!

10

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and very clean and large rooms.
A double bed is actually a double bed instead of two singles pushed together which is a big plus!
Only thing we didn't see is the breakfast as it's €29,- per person!
Otherwise very worth it. Pool area/spa is also nicely cleaned and you'll have a nice panoramic view of Düsseldorf from the 8th floor of the hotel

We go to Nikko for the karaoke rooms, which are downstairs. The karaoke system is a good setup with an electronic panel that has English and Japanese modes, and A decent selection of popular English and Asian songs. The only real negative for me is the ridiculous beer prices: 8€ for a pint, around double a normal bar, considering you are paying for use of the room already it's a bit high.

Steve Hall

Pretty dated room which was two single beds pushed together rather than a double as advertised. There also was some construction noise due to renovations going on while we were there. However the location is fantastic.

8

Good location. The room was spacious, but my daughter pointed out that it smelled like grandpa (we agreed.) Shower had trouble keeping a constant temperature as it kept switching between cold and super hot. Automated elevator system worked very efficiently. The swimming pool had nice views over the city and the pool itself was bigger than the average hotel pool. Bit nippy though.. Breakfast was nice, a plus for the soy milk. Parking was 25 euros a day, but we found a parking lot around the corner for 5 euros a day.

We stayed for 2 nights and it was a great weekend. Easy access to the city centre by walk and very safe neighborhood. Only one point unpleasant was the cleaning service ladies outside of the hallway talking and knock the door at 9am-9;30am which is very time and we could hear them talking and preparing the cleaning kits.
Bed was very comfortable and room was kept very clean.

4

No good value for money
We wanted to switch the breakfast from one person who could not attend to one person without breakfast, which was refused despite the fact that we had to pay the full rate including breakfast. In general we experienced a lack of customer focus and sometimes untrained, unfriendly staff at the reception.
We brought some customers here and it was a rather unpleasant experience. Fast internet only with extra cost - this is not global standard. The elevator is complicated and cause of frustration for many customers. Carpet on 3rd floor was dirty.

The hotel is strategically located in between the city centre and main station, everything can be reached in between 5 to 10 minutes. Room is clean but the facilities are standard and the bed comfortable level is also not good. I have a giod receptionist service for the first I visited the hotel, but recently on 9th July, the reception was ignoring me for a couple of minutes just to chat with his friend.

The hotel is located in the city centre of Düsseldorf with a lot of important locations in walking distance. The breakfast buffet is a good. The only problem was that my room was very hot because the lights especially in summer create additional increase in room temperature. Nevertheless I would recommend a stay.

5

The hotel is well located with large, albeit somewhat dated rooms. Breakfast is a bit average, but as with the rest of the hotel services the staff are excellent so I don't really mind.

My major complaint is the terrible Wifi service, it's slower than 3G on my phone and annoying to use - please Nikko change your provider!

Update: thank you for your response, I'll come back at the start of next month to try again!

Great central location, rooms are comfortable. Looking a little bit aged in the design but very clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and helpful, which is a major plus at any hotel. Only criticism, is that the rooms were too hot and ventilation system didn't seem to cool the rooms. Just for reference it was the 2nd wk in April 2017, temperatures were 10- 14 deg C, so very cold for time of year. Hence my 4 stars.

The hotel lobby was a great first impression, that carried through to the room. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in a great location and everything was spot on. (The only down side being a little bit picky is the breakfast at €28pp was pricey for what it is so we opted out of that). If I return to Düsseldorf, I'll come back to Hotel Nikko

Really clean and nicely finished rooms, fairly good location, only 10 minutes from the beautiful old town. Only criticisms is a lack the lack of shower curtain so water gets everywhere when showering and the hotel bar is very expensive, recommend going to schumacher-alt 3 minutes round the corner, it's serves awesome German wheat beer which is very affordable.

The room is clean, modern, has a nice view, is pitchblack at night, includes complementary coffee and tea. They clean the room but do not change the sheets? (This was quickly resolved). The front desk can do more than just two staff members though. The lift is so modern, when you are inside there are no buttons for you to direct. So push the right floor before you enter. I have send an email with questions about parking here, never got an answer. The location is really great, near the center and in the heart of little Tokyo. This is our reason for stay, to experience Japan outside of Japan.

The spa and the staff of the spa were terrific! The view was amazing and it was the cleanest sauna I have ever been.

The hotel areas and the breakfast along with the personnel were fantastic. The variety of the breakfast was vast.

The reception staff was not up to the standards that I expected from your hotel. When we arrived we had to wait almost 5 minutes because the staff was arranging something between them. Probably the change of shift. Not even an apology for the delay. We have requested a smoking double bed room with our reservation. I asked in the reception if the room had a double bed and they replied that yes it had. I arrived at the room and it was smoking (smelling terribly) but NOT double bed! I call them and ask if there is a room with double bed. They offered me a non smoking room and they told me to come to the reception to get the key. The next room was again twin!!! I call them again and without any apology they tell me to go to a different floor and they will come directly there. We enter the room to check if it's the correct as there was a tray of used food outside and it was finally a double bed. The staff member asked us with irony: Is this what you asked for?
I was shocked!!!! No apology at all and irony on top of all? This is unacceptable! Perhaps she didn't like that we were 2 women asking for a double bed! LGBT discrimination or just rude staff? I can't be sure but she was terrible.

Great location (Japan town). Many Japanese restaurants within walking distance. Clean hotel. The bathrooms are quite small and a bit outdated. Water tap was broken. The free wifi is terribly slow. Forget streaming and surfing websites with photos. Read news and mail only. There's a karaoke bar and Japanese grill restaurant at the hotel. The airconditioned gym is a joke, too small. The swimming pool is like a sauna, very warm. Friendly staff. Btw, there is a Pokestop.

Hospitality/service - 5/5
No problems experienced and the staff was always very friendly.

Rooms - 4/5
The rooms may seem a bit old-fashioned, so there might be people who won't like it that much aesthetically, but it still has a certain chic/cozy feel.

Location - 4/5
It's right in the middle of the Japan centre of Düsseldorf, which is quite convenient if you like to be close to all the good japanese food. It's also quite close to other shopping streets.

Sauna and pool cost 15 euro a day. Expensive prices in bar and restaurant. Expensive parking. Further down the road there is a parkingspot for 10 euro/day. Rooms are rather small but clean. Also have a 90's look to it. Staff is friendly. Wifi is free but only with 512kb/s. Faster wifi costs extra money. For the price I wouldnt recommand this hotel but not regarding the price, its OK.
