Wifi is bad. Everything else is OK.
Edit: According to hotel, the wifi problem should be very much fixed now :-). Another reason to return.

I'm giving four stars because I loved the restaurant but I don't know the hotel. Putting that a side, the food (drinks too) and service where great, they could be a little bit faster, but is no "fast food restaurant" you must go with time and enjoy 👍🏻

I was stationed in Ansbach with the First Armored Division in 1972-1973. As a JAG Officer, we would have weekly dinners with local judges and lawyers at the Schwarzer Bock. The food, Fraconian wine and local beer were always absolutely splendid. I am glad, but not surprised that the Schwarzer Bock is maintaining its high standards. Hope to return to have a good long stay and dine in the restaurant.

Very quaint hotel in cultural center. The owners live on site and it's like you are truly their welcome guests in their home. I highly recommend their restaurant, the menu is filled with taste treats beyond compare. Order the trout which they have swimming in a tank till ordered. Excellent!!!!

Although they were busy and admittedly understaffed, they made every effort to insure our stay was good. The service was very attentive and our room was very nice and clean. The location was great. Although we did not eat much at the hotel restaurant, The food looked and smelled delicious. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Basic tasty Southern German food with a homely, traditional feeling. There's an outside garden area. It's a bit pricy for what it is, but nothing too far outside the norm.

We stayed here during the recent Old Town Festival in Ansbach, and enjoyed our stay completely. Our spacious room had a comfortable bed and was well-equipped, including complimentary Nespresso and a free minibar. The WiFi quality was excellent. The hotel and restaurant staff were without exception friendly and helpful. Our meal at the restaurant was tasty and more than ample. We would recommend this to anyone. One note - we were in room 32, the windows open to a narrow interior space. It's very quiet in the room, but not much air comes in - in July or August it might be a bit unpleasant (most of the other rooms have exterior windows).

This historically charming hotel was not only beautiful but the staff provided warm service. The room was very clean and comfortable and the restaurant/ servers served delicious, well made, authentic Franconian dishes. I would suggest making reservations for lunch and dinner being that the restaurant is renowned and popular, a must in dining in Ansbach. The Schwarzer Bock is perfectly located in the old downtown area, walking distance to the mall, Brucken Center, and the shopping/ eating area of the Aldstadt. I would love to revisit soon.

To sum it up: Ein Restaurant, genau so wie es sein muss. Lieb, lecker, hübsch und günstig, sowie, last but not least: exklusiv.

Weine toll: sehr gute Auswahl an Frankenweinen. Kurzum "Danke liebes Bock-Team"!
Absolut empfehlenswert! Ein schönes altes Haus mitten in der Stadt, bewirtet von charmanten Gastgebern. Schöne Zimmer, freundliches Personal und hervorragend Küche (u.a. Wild aus eigener Jagd; hervorragendes, zartes & saftiges Schäuferla, klasse Frühstück).
