The Keltic Lodge is a beautiful resort near the entrance of one of the most gorgeous spots in Cape Breton. It's a great place to stay when visiting the Cabot Trail with family, since it's practically next to the beach! (You can see the entire stretch of it from any of the lookoff points in the resort) One of my favorite parts is that Middle Head Hiking Trail is right behind it. (with lots of parking for visitors too) It's a nice little hike with an extremely rewarding view at the end. (and many great views along the way) Overall, super happy with this spot and I would definitely recommend it!

We ate at the Arduaine Restaurant.

Lobster was cooked with the band in on the claws, that usually gives a rubber taste to the meat.

The drinks I had were great. Get the Celtic something, has ginger in it.

The kettle chips made up like nachos were a hit for a starter.

Huge portions for the chicken fingers and fries.

The veggies that come with the meals are done great.

My dad had a steak that was a bit chewy. My wife and I had the lobster dinner, it was good - but not done traditional Ingonish style.

I couldn't taste the salt water so I assume they didn't cook it in salt water. The rubber band mark on the claw have me a bad impression...

The views here are incredible, and overall the food was decent and we had a great time! A bit expensive but that's to be expected at a resort.

Great comfortable stay in a beautiful location. We booked a cottage since we were bringing a dog but there were maintenance issues and we were then switched to a nice suite in the corson house. They allowed us to still bring in the dog due to their mistake which was great. Friendly helpful staff and a peaceful stay. Nice outdoor pool and the free breakfast was amazing! Great variety.

Beautiful location and nice rooms. Amazing to walk around. Bring bug spray! Breakfast was ok - very crowded, but few vegetarian choices. We enjoyed getting takeout from the smaller restaurant and sitting on our porch rather than being in the noisy space of the restaurant.

Excellent stay for our anniversary - helpful staff, great food and atmosphere. Obviously the location can't be beat for scenery. Beautiful hiking right off the resort property too!

Amazing view, comfy beds, accommodating and friend staff. Restuarant was amazing and complimentary breakfast for guests had lots to choose from and full of flavor. Wish we knew of this place before so we could've stayed longer and enjoy more of the amenities

5 star view and location. With minimal effort this place can be really made into world class 5 star experience. Like fixing windows. Adding AC. Cleaning floors. Getting rid of bugs. Had a wasp in room, and lots of musqitos. Fix toilets to flush on first try. I started with 5 stars.... There is real potential.

Beautiful location. Setting is breathtaking. Breakfast was amazing. We attended a wedding that was just lovely. Room was dated... baby blue 4" tiles, rusty pipes running through the ceiling. Paint chipping in the bath tub. Toilet didn't flush properly. Ice machine didn't work.

What a place to stay, almost 360 degree ocean views. The promo pictures you see online don't even really do the place justice. Staff is friendly and exceptionally helpful.

Beautiful location with spacious comfortable rooms. Every staff member from front reception to the sweetest server in the restaurant were amazing. The singer in the lounge was local and wonderful. Spa experience was great! Highly recommend!

Great location, excellent place to stay. Staff are helpful & friendly. Located on Middle Head peninsula & surrounded by water which gives the majority of rooms an "ocean view". Kitchen is very good - very happy with catering here.

We attended a hiking conference and the lodge apparently opened a week early to accomodate us all - that shows how great they all are at Keltic!! Room was awesome - clean, well appointed, and comfy. Bed was very comfortable (as were the pillows) and shower was hot and excellent water pressure. Wifi is free all over and I found it to be also excellent. The staff are truly hospitable - such friend people and always smiling - I hope they know how appreciative we were of their service!!:) This place is truly one-of-a-kind and a gem - being so close to world-class hiking with stunning views, it seems a place only found in your dreams...but it does exist and you should go without hesitation if you get the chance!!

Absolutely stunning.
We were there for Canada Day 150 weekend and it was absolutely beautiful.
Of course it outdated a little. What do you expect it's an old building.
No other like it.

There is no doubt location is great. But our dinner experience was not good, very poor service and food. Restaurant's manager Mr. Robert was very helpful and listened to our concerns.

What a fantastic experience! It was a little like stepping back in time and totally worth it for a one time trip to Cape Breton.

The included breakfast buffet was hands down the best we've ever had. Everything was fresh and amazing.

There are plenty of trails right in the area as well.

Overall at bit disappointed as this was a highly recommended and reviewed hotel. It was dated and wasn’t up to par with what I expect from a top tier resort. Great area. Property layout is a little awkward and needs a refresh. Restaurant in the old lodge is great for dinner but atmosphere is a little senior’s home. But probably best food within a 200km radius.

We came for dinner and sat outside facing a gorgeous view. The prices were decent and food was good. Service was Ok, I had to wait for my refill on water that I asked for and salt/pepper for a while.

Went with my wife to Arduaine Restaurant (June 2017) because it was the only place in the area, open at that time in evening. Nice waterfront restaurant, with lots of good views. Food and service was great. I wanted to come back the next day for a table, right at the window, so we could enjoy the views, while eating. The waitress said she couldn't promise anything, but advised if I came back around 5pm the next day, she would try her best. Luckily, we got the view we wanted. Again, dinner & service were great. The specific waitress we had went above and beyond.
Only complaint is they did take a while (both visits) to acknowledge our arrival & seat us, but not enough of an issue to warrant a lower rating. Would definitely recommend!

"A" Class of it's own, all around ! "Dated" Yes ! but in the way" Chateau Montabello" Quebec is dated. That is the class above and beyond those of any others. The staff on my visit as of Aug 23/17 were of the best essence in this historic venue; That one could ever desire as service presenters. From the front desk staff to those serving in the dining rooms and bar and at the clubhouse, of one of the most historically beautiful golf courses in Canada, This place is just a time capsule of Beauty definitely.

The room was nice, staff mostly friendly. No towels by the pool. We ate on site, breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was good a few times but poor a few times too. The beach set didn't have the frisbee or the shovel advertised and the menus for the restaurants in the suite guest directory were not up to date.

This is the only place in Canada I'd give 5🌟 without hesitation. Amazing view. Great service and very very good food. Coming back soon.

Breathtaking location! You have views of oceans, valleys and cliffs! The golf course is a stone throw away and there are beaches and hiking trails accessible by foot.

Only improvements needed... rooms are not modern but still cozy and clean. Coffee is average but they need cappucinos. Exterior of the building requires more than a coat of paint. Not sure if they are trying to maintain the historic nature but up close the wood is falling apart.

Overall still a dream getaway here.

Purple thistle was an excellent meal. Rooms were clean and staff was nice, great steam showers and hot tubs at the spa. Middlehead trail starts at the lodge and we highly recommend getting out there for sunrise, was truly incredible. Wonderful place to stay all around.

2 rounds of golf with carts for 2 of us and a night in very comfortable cabin for under $200 total. Can't beat the cost, and it's one one the best locations and courses in Atlantic Canada. Will be back again.

Great place to stay if you're looking to admire the spectacular views of the Cape Breton Highland. There are wonderful views on all sides of the resort and great golf, hiking and beaches all in close proximity. Staff is great and the rooms are clean and classy.

The Golf course was picturesque. Good quality course paid with amazing scenery and lots of space. The rooms were cozy but were in need of a few minor repairs. Screen door unhinged, sink didn't drain. Pricey.

We stayed one night at the beginning of June. The room was bigger, and nicer than we expected. Of course, Keltic Lodge is situated on a lovely peninsula with amazing views all around, and we watched the sun go down from our bed. The restaurant was great, with excellent service, and very reasonably priced for the quality of food. And complementary full breakfast buffet! Will definitely come back. Full marks.

We ate dinner at the Arduiane Restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and they provided me with a gluten free bread option for the veggie burger which was scrumptious :) Would love to go back in the future when we visit Ingonish again!

The setting is beautiful but the cottage we stayed in was old; needed updating drastically. The restaurant dinner food was mediocre and service was terrible. Our bathtub floor had chipped paint everywhere. The corners of the room had years of grime. The room didn't feel clean to me; it was very gritty. The bathroom was freezing cold because air was blowing in through the vent. The deadbolt didn't work. For the price, I was severely disappointed. You would expect some of these things from a $30/night property but not from a $300/night property. By far this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at on our trip but sadly it really was the least one we enjoyed.

Stunning resort in the world's most beautiful place. You'll enjoy high end amenities, panoramic ocean views, breathtaking sunsets, amazing fine dining, live nightly entertainment and more. Gorgeous Ingonish beach is located 1 minute from the property and a shuttle service is provided to take you to and from the beach. Highly recommend staying in the newly renovated Corson House!

So beautiful here, and a great resort. The grounds are nice, the beach is nice, and the views are out of this world. We were lucky enough to get one of the newly renovated rooms (made reservations 5 months in advance), and the rooms are amazing!

It's been a beautiful east coast trip, and this is like icing on the cake.

Location is fantastic. The nearby Highland Links golf course is a must-play for any golfers nearby. Close to fantastic local activities, like Ingonish Beach and all of the hikes in the surrounding Cape Breton Highlands. The outdoor pool and surrounding pool area are a great way to spend an afternoon. You can't go 10 feet without seeing a magnificent view.

The Lodge itself is an older building and doesn't have air conditioning in all the rooms. The rooms are a good size and, while dated, are quite comfortable. The beds and linen are comfortable.

The food offered is hit or miss. I had the lobster sliders in the pub and it was one of the absolute best appetizers I've ever had. That being said, the scallops in the restaurant were one of the most disappointing things I've encountered in a fine dining restaurant. My wife and I paid around 200$ for dinner one night (including wine), which we had expected and would have been happy with... had the meal felt like a 200$ meal. It did not. The haddock was alright. Again, there's nothing bad with 'alright', but there is something wrong with 'alright' as part of a 200$ meal.

Every single staff member we encountered was great, pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The live music in the pub was great. I will absolutely go back in the future, possibly as soon as in the fall.
