Current Sparta is built southerly from the centre of ancient homonym city, near the right bank of river Eurotas. The plain that is stretched out around her is full of olive trees, orange trees, lemon trees and mulberries. Southwest rests the famous mountain Taygetos, with the high tops and its wild beauty. East of the city you can find mountain range of Parnonas that is full of firs and other trees.
The city is built over the ancient city from the start with drawings worked out from the Bavarians in 1834. Thanks to that it got a very symmetric street structure. Sparta is full with palm avenues, parks and well-preserved public buildings. The city has intense nightlife and many juvenilely hang places. All more they compose a modern and beautiful city.

Fairly bad service that makes you wait for 20' to check in even though you warned them. Rooms (was in 317) are extremely small, I'd describe it as barely livable. Cleaning staff kept forgetting utensils in the room. Very difficult to park close to the hotel. The prices aren't competitive either. Our friends stayed at Maniatis next door in a much better room for the same price.

Pros: just a few meters from city center. Nice cozy rooms, soft beds and pillows. Good, fresh breakfast. Overall pretty clean.
Cons: small elevator, bathrooms need renovation. A bit of street noise at the lower floors.

Pretty nice central hotel next to the square of Sparta city. There is no need to use a car to walk around the city. Inexpensive accomodation option, the rooms are clean and comfortable with balcons, breakfast is optional, the staff is helpful and polite.

Not that great. I was there in early September and I had to park one kilometer away cause Sparta is so crowded. Room itself is decent but had some strange issues. There is no power outlet next to bed, there is one at 1.5 height. See photo how I had to charge my phone. Curtain in bathroom is half meter too long and you have to watch out for curtain rail otherwise you will bump your head. Breakfest was good though, with various choices.

This is SPARTA!!!
Good value for the money. Very clean room, but without a view, in central downtown Sparta. Helpful front desk staff and good breakfast. Parking is an issue in the area, but the hotel protects some spaces in front of the hotel, call ahead just before you arrive to ask to use one of them. We would stay here again.
