Staff is so friendly... Our favorite place to stay on the Big Island. Make sure to find your way to the lobby balcony for sunsets. Really close to shops, restaurants and galleries. Upgrade to a Hale suite to feel like you have a private condo on the beach.

I did the luau and was a bit disappointed. I've been before and for what I paid I didn't think it was worth the price. The show was good, but hard to see because the stage is too low. You have to pay for the lei, which I've always had provided at the others luaus. Drinks were decent. Pig was excellent! Not much variety in food, no appetizers, and for a buffet you could only go up twice.

The hotel was nicely redone. My only complaint was the rooms we designed for one person, at least the king rooms. Example, there is a window in the bathroom covered by a rice paper screen. It looks really nice until it is late at night and someone uses the bathroom... When you turn on the bathroom light, it lights up the the whole hotel room and shines directly in the bed because it shines through the screen.

Pool area is great for kids. There's a sandy section for very little ones, and another section that was really good for our kid (pre school aged). Rooms are perfectly fine - everything is clean and well-supplied. I think the only improvement I would like is to have more than 1 load's worth of laundry detergent for cleaning clothes. There may be some in a store here, but I have yet to look. It's not a major complaint, but since I can come up with *some*thing to whine about, I'm giving it a 4 (I reserve 5 for unique special experiences).

Excellent resort. The transportation service could have been a little faster and the overall layout could have been designed faster. No free breakfast. And it is over priced at 30 dollars a person just for continental. Luckily dimond members do get free continental for two people. Beds are comfy and rooms are spacious. The pools are great! The lagoon is also nice but I would recommend driving to another beach for clearer waters. Hours are odd on restaurants nearby which close down early around 6 or 7 for most of them.

Really nice place, but they really don’t care about you if you are under 25 and not buying alcohol. Everything is crazy expensive. Better to go into town to get cheaper yummy food than what the resort can offer.

I was here for the Luau. Sadly, we got rained out so they had to move us into the ballroom. The drinks, food and entertainment were all wonderful despite that. A bit chaotic in the beginning as they were still hustling around to get the stage and sound setup but it was still a great experience! Would absolutely go again. What I saw of the resort was also beautiful. would seriously consider staying here if we come back to the big island.

Newly renovated rooms provided a comfortable stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great pools and easy access to the ocean. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. This is my third stay at this hotel and I am always happy with the choice.

A nice resort on the Waikoloa Beach area. Within walking distance to the outlets/small mall and shopping center. Room was right by the pool and beach, so just had to walk out of our room and there we were. Prices at the restaurants were on the higher price side. The cafe upstairs in the lobby, took forever to make simple coffee. Its actually faster to go to the shopping center at Starbucks to grab a cup of coffee/latte. Room was nice, the hot tubs were ok, some jets weren't working.

Very contemporary and modern. Love the shower fixtures can move the height. Helps to fit me. Then my much shorter wife. The pool and grounds are gorgeous. Infinity pool and tons of rockets and lounge chairs under the lanai. TV'S need to be bigger. Especially in the living room. Pro tip visit the King and Queen market place within walking distance. Tons of shopping and restaurants.

Great resort if traveling in a group or with family. Loved the "Pavilions", a big cabana with couch and chairs and room for a couple chaise lounges which accommodated 8 of us and worked great. You also get half your rental fee back in drinks and appetizers. Hotel could use more options for food, but there are other options within walking distance. I recommend Lava Lava BC for an easy going but very good dinner. If looking for something fancy/memorable, Roy's was great and just across the street from hotel.

We’ve been here for our wedding 3 years ago and we came back this year! It’s a beautiful as always to stay here. The pool is nice and the staff are so friendly. There’s a bunch of places on the beach to look and just enjoy the beautiful scenery of Hawaii. We loved this place so much and we can’t wait to come back another time. Location is amazing as it’s close to a bunch of shops and grocery stores and restaurant.

The grounds are well maintained. Everything is reasonably easy get to (beach access, pools, jacuzzi). Front office, bell desk personal even the phone operator were all friendly. Would recommend. The breakfast buffet for 29$ was good and with great view to enjoy.

Great resort! There are two pools and one of them is an infinity pool. They have two jacuzzis and a water slide. We stayed in a corner room, 600 sq. Ft. with 2 Kings beds. There is a fridge and safe in the room. Microwave is an additional $10. Parking is easy with your room key controlling the gate. Food is a little pricey but. Good. There is an upscale shopping center and food area across the street, you can walk to it. There is another one about 1/2 mile down the road. The beach is a short walk, 200 ft., across the small ponds. The beach is the calmest beach I have seen in Hawaii!

Great location along Waikoloa Beach. Nice resort with good pools and beach access. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Rooms are decently sized and look to have been recently updated. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting the big island.

The resort is beautiful and the staff for the most part were extremely helpful and friendly, except the bar staff at night. It took a long time to get drinks, when it wasn't very busy. Like 20 minutes from time of order to delivery for three beers. The one wouldn't even acknowledge us.The only other weird thing was the fury dishes that were outside our room from whoever was there before us, were still there when we left four days later. Other than that the stay was amazing. We found the great little bar across the way, I think our was called A-Bay. Same high prices for drinks, but great service with fun music.

I love the waterfall, hot tubs, and slides. The decorations and plantations are beautiful. There's even free rent to play a PlayStation 3 game for the night, assuming you rented a room. There used to be a thing where if you collect all of the colored wrist bands, you get a free ice cream. This place is also where a few Wheel of Fortune episodes were filmed. I would go back there anytime to reflect on those memories and besides parking, it's free to visit.

Very gorgeous place with amazing views. It's amazing to be able to see the ocean from the pool. Everyone is very kind and caring, and the staff is super helpful. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family. Food and other buys are a bit expensive, but it is to be expected on an island.

Spent a relaxing morning at the beach here. Beach wasn't too busy, with ample space to go around, including shady spots. Sand was soft and beach was well maintained, but watch out for buried rocks. The water was calm and appeared to be relatively clear (didn't have my snorkeling gear with me... :/), but my kids (ages 3 and 9) enjoyed it. Washroom facilities were also clean and well maintained.

This was the perfect choice for family of four. Clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff that really seems to care that the guests have a good experience. Food is good and the pool and beach setup are great for kids and adults. It is such a good setup that we had to push ourselves to leave and explore some of the wonderful beaches and attractions on the island. I would say the only real down side is the relatively poor snorkeling we experienced at this beach in comparison to others but there was a lot to do regardless.

If you like resorts, this is definitely worth your time. The rooms and spacious and well designed. The only gripe I have is there is no stove. The refrigerator is large and the main table is definitely big enough for board games or large family meals. Each section of the suite has its own balcony angled towards the ocean. However, the balconies are small. The open air Lanai restaurant next the the main lobby is really spectacular, especially at sunset. The infinity pool is a little cold, but there are plenty of hot tubs and lounging area in the sun. The concierge service is contracted out to 'Expedia Local Guides'. They are very knowledgeable of the island and are always eager to help. The beach is very, very calm - great for swimming and easy paddle boarding. The reef about 500 yards off shore is spectacular. Also, the royal fishing ponds between the hotel and the beach are fun to look at and the fish jump at sunset everyday. Overall I highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel main lobby is spacious and welcoming. It features a lot of open-to-the outdoor areas where you can relax and watch the sunset. The rooms are average: small, nothing special, just a room. They seem over-priced, but I guess everything is in the island. There are good hotel amenities including great pools, beach access, and hotel staff who are willing to help you plan out your stay. I'd say overall this is a good hotel, but if the pricing was better would be considered 'great'.

Beautiful and comfortable. Love the grounds and beach here ! Beds are very comfy. First time I came I was greeted by a very nice front desk lady named Debbie she made me feel Welcomed and made sure that I had everything that I asked for a check in. It was the best customer experience I have had at a Marriott. I was very impressed with her customer service skills and enjoyed myself at the hotel great place I would return

The hotel is really quite pretty. One side is the hotel while the other side is the vacation club. Our room was recently renovated and was done quite nicely. The shower door is very industrial in it's design and contraats really well with the solid wood sliding barn door. The pools were also recently renovated and are quite nice, albeit a bit on the small side. Food is a bit expensive as expected, but $5 for a bagel?! Seriously?! We plan on coming back again to this same hotel.

This place is beautiful! Great pools and Jacuzzis, enough space that it doesn't feel overcrowded. And you're right at the beach for swimming or kayaking/paddleboarding. Located close to shopping and restaurants. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The weather on this side of the island is amazing, but means you're further from things like the black sand beach and Volcanoes National park.

This was probably our favorite resort of our stay in Hawaii. We spent only a couple nights, but loved the design of the resort. The lobby/restaurant/bar is all open air and has great views of the ocean/pool. The staff was super friendly and helpful the whole stay. As compared to the other resorts that we stayed at, we appreciated that a lot of things (activities, rentals, etc.) were included instead of charging you for every little thing.

Nice updated spacious rooms with great view, friendly staff, good location, only disappointment was not being able to get a king size ocean front room and ended up with 2 double beds on our honeymoon instead. The concierge Asia was extremely helpful booking excursions. Highly recommend the morning orientation.

We love the Marriot resort. We live on the other side of the island. The resort is beautiful. The pools and slides are great. We've been the luau, the food and entertainment is good there. The best part is the breakfast buffet. We even make the 1 and a half hour drive to go to it. The only reason I have 4 stars and not 5 is that the price went up within the past 5 years. This is the reason we don't go there as often as we used to. For the same price now, we can go to another hotel down the road and see dolphins and ride trains and boats.

I got the swimming' itch swimming at the beach. This hotel is wonderful all around. The resort fee is reasonable which includes parking. They also let us use snorkeling gear for one hour. However, I found that both my upper thighs are itchy. When I examed it at night, I found about four inches wide of reddish pimple all around the swimsuit line and itchy. It would be helpful for the visitor to know if the hotel could have posted some warning sign near the beach would be helpful. Otherwise, this is a great hotel.

Great Resort on Waikoloa. Modern rooms with spa and pools. Right on the beach but it's not very clear water. Better beaches are about 10 minutes away. Great customer service with nice restaurants and Luau.

7

The luau we attended was very nice performance-wise and the food was great. However, service-wise it seemed that the staff was worn out by tourists and not exactly happy to be there. Obviously tourists can grate on one's nerves but it would be good if the staff hid their annoyance better. None of this attitude was directed towards me bit I witnessed firsthand eye-rolling and short responses. Also, be prepared that there's no shade to sit in. Wear sunscreen and a hat.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best prices around... We attended the sunset luau, it was a great venue steps from the beach. It is a small venue, so everyone had a great view and lines for the buffet were short. Premium gets you closest to stage and first in line for food along with a gift box of local snacks and a lei, but does not seem worth it given the small venue. Bar lines were short and drinks were not watered down, open bar is included in regular attendance price. The show itself was a good mix of singing, dancing, fire dancing, history, and audience participation. Great luau for families and couples, we would definitely do it again!

We live in the area and go to the Marriott for dinner about once a month. The prime rib and crab buffet is reasonably priced and a nice getaway. If you don't do the buffet they have a decent menu too. So enjoy dinner and watch the sunset.

Our room was clean and spacious. Food and drinks in the restaurant were great, but very expensive. Our "garden view" room mostly looked at the roof of the rest of the hotel however we weren't there to sit around in the room. The pool was relaxing with a max depth of about 5 feet.

Second time staying at this location. Great beach access and convenient to markets. Renovations currently under way and we're given a newly remodeled room, which is very nice. Reno's should be complete by mid 2017, which will include conversion of South Tower to Marriott Vacation Club.

Hotel is under construction so fairly loud during the daytime but they do their best to confine work to 1 or 2 areas at a time. Breakfast buffet is one of the best I've ever had and the views are pretty amazing. The hotel restaurant food is good, but service there and poolside has been less than timely.

Wonderful vacation! The front dest staff were wonderful! Our room was too far from the restaurant due to being semi disabled. We were given an upgraded room . Due to that, I had 6 days in Paradise. I will never forget the beauty of Hawaii! Thank you , to the employees of this Marriott!

“Very nice Marriott!” The rooms were in great shape. They upgrades us to the top floor, which had just been remodeled. The bathrooms were awesome! Service was always good. Their luau was nicely done, but ran a bit too long. They could have cut out the parts where they bring people up on stage & try to teach them the hula. The only downside was the high costs of food and drinks. We spent a lot of time by the pool. Even non-alcoholic drinks were costly. Beer was $8 and standard mixed drinks were $15. I realize they're trying to make money, but they don't need to gauge us. Had they not charged as much, we would have ordered 3x as many. We would have 1 or 2 and then walk next door (a very short distance) for drinks and food. Unfortunately they're turning 1/2 the hotel into a time share. I'm disappointed to think that will make the place seem run down.

I gave it a star less because of the lousiest front desk I have ever seen. They took a good one hour to check me in due to the lack of clarity. They did not even know if the Room cleaned up and ready to be occupied. Apart from that , infinity pool's sunset view is worth all the trouble. Pretty good food and events in the hotel. Private beach is a big plus!

Beautiful resort, best place to stay on the big island. The rooms have amazing views of the bay and resort grounds. Love that the pools and fitness center are open 24 hours. Awesome cultural activities are offered like lei making and hula dancing. Can take yoga on the beach or stand up paddling in the morning. The staff is super friendly and helpful and always greets you with the aloha spirit. Service was top notch. Will recommend this resort to anyone I know staying on this island
