They clearly don't have people who don't use the tennis courts because they are in awful condition. The shouldn't really advertise the tennis. Otherwise really good food and accommodation, nice comfy beds. Also, it can be a bit noisy as it right next to a main road.

Only stayed for one night but was impressed especially since I have stayed in another of these hotels in Croydon and was definitely not impressed there.
This is a decently presented hotel with fairly modern, large rooms and an upmarket restaurant with staff that actually care about your meal. Good food, attentive staff, overall pretty good.

Great staff, especially the gentleman who seems to be the head of the bar staff. He was helpful, jovial, in a nut shell, very good at his job.
The gym is way better than most other hotel’s and the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room are fantastic.
The golf course is superb (I don’t play golf but it’s looks great)
I was disappointed with my room, probably it’s one of the cheaper ones. No where to hang my shirt and suits.
It was near what seems to be a 24/7 generator and the sound was annoying. It means I couldn’t open the window. It was the hottest May bank holiday too. 😞
I will assume there are bigger and quieter rooms.
From my limited experience, I’m afraid it’s a 3, if I had a bigger and quieter room. I will considered 5.
I’ll be back and I will request another room, then I will revisit my comment above.

I've not stayed in the hotel but the massage is the reason for my visits. The masseuses are expert and very good at their job. I am always keen to return!

Good course, some parts have suffered owing to the wet winter but very enjoyable and challenging in places. Looking forward to playing there again now that summer seems to finally be on the way!

I arrived late and left early, but the staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was quite good and not unreasonably priced. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. All in all I had a good stay.

6

Generally helpful staff and nice restaurant, although some of the food descriptions did not match the reality. Other areas are showing signs of wear and seating in the bar area particularly was dirty. Could be greatly improved with a spruce up of the decor, floor coverings and bar staff.

The management should be very proud of their great cohesive staff team. From the welcome on our arrival at reception as a party of 12 friends, to Aston serving us barista coffee and teas in the bar area and the wine waiter at evening dinner we couldn't have received a warmer or friendlier reception. The 3 course dinner was delicious with an excellent menu choice, all served with a smile and an attitude that nothing was too much trouble. Full English breakfast was ample, generous and well cooked. We used the very warm swimming pool and Jacuzzi in the leisure centre, so enjoyable. Special mention to Rhyce for his welcome. Best of all was our stunning cream tea beautifully served in the dining room. Rooms were warm and very clean. Our stay was tremendous value for money and yes we'll definitely be back.

Glad I joined again, I had a good walk, swim, steamed and went in sauna. The only criticism I have the there should be a water fountain in the swimming area. I always drink water in the steam room but to refill my bottle I have to use the gym water! However, I am pleased I have gone back.

Great break for the price. Afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast, under £100.
Swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Lots of relaxing places to sit and read. Nearby for visiting places and main roads. Great value.

Stayed one night with friends after attending a party night..checked in 2pm, rooms available, helpful lady on reception. .seemed short of staff as few people checking out and in and only one staff doing all. Room adequate if a little small. Went to bar to kick start the party but very cold and no atmosphere. .asked for music..TV was put on..wanted a Christmas atmosphere with Christmas songs but staff froze us out..we had ordered food and drinks and retreated to our room to chill out.. Party nite was good value and food good, with great music. Beds comfortable and breakfast very good..shame staff gave us a cool reception. .a smile does not cost anything..and they are in the " hospitality trade"..

Decent place to stay while away with work. Has a gym, pool, sauna and steam room. Would be good in the summer for golf too. Only downside at the moment is the roadworks on the A14, which shuts the carriageway after a certain time. Meaning a huge detour

Great location only 20 minute drive into central Cambridge. Hotel is clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room it self is great, bathroom is a little dated but I wouldn't let that put you off as I was very impressed with everything! Would stay there again.

Booked in for a luxury spa package with two other ladies, to include access to the spa, a treatment, cocktails, dinner and sparkling wine and the room. On arrival the spa was okay, but the jacuzzi was out of order and the pool area didn't have enough loungers for the number of people using the facilities. I chose the massage for my treatment which was excellent. When we checked in to our rooms the staff didn't seem to know what package we were on (start of a theme here). Tried to get some lunch at the bar, getting ignored for a while by the abrupt bar girl. Food came out in stages, apparently the chef could only concentrate on making one sandwich at a time. The standard of the rooms was okay. I found a huge spider in my window which my friend caught in a glass and there were a couple of threadbare holes in my bedspread but the room appeared clean and the bathroom was spotless. Dinner was another debacle as we had booked a table for three but they had reserved us a table for two, we had to clarify what was included in the dinner and none of the staff seemed to know. It took 5 different servers to get involved before we got our wine. Slept well, room was quiet enough. Breakfast was basic but tasty enough. Overall a decent hotel but the staff should be better informed about deals that guests are on.

Myself and 13 other guests enjoyed a stay at this hotel last weekend as part of a hen party. We had no issues during this time and found all 7 rooms to be in good condition. They suited our needs and did not at all show any signs of the negative things others have mentioned in their reviews. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel the following morning which was also good. Due to our own time restrictions we did not use the spa as we had planned but instead requested late checkout for 1 room at very late notice (1 hour before standard check out), this was given to us at no extra cost for 1 hour extra. The location was fine for what we needed, we booked taxis through the hotel to travel into the centre of Cambridge and various places nearby- we had no issues with any of these. Would re-visit :)

Lovely friendly hotal. Menu gives a good choice of food which is well cooked and served by friendly staff. The room was a good size. A little bit dated but very clean . Perfect place to stay to visit Cambridge town as there is a bus stop just outside.

It was a very cosy place, just perfect for short stay. Although the location is outside walking distance for the center, it is a quiet place, perfect for sleep.
The breakfast is continental and and what I liked most is the fresh frozen mix of berries, just delightful!

The bed was perfect too - the tickets mattress I have slept on.
The bathroom was quite small, but clean. Everything was clean.

Decent hotel with good facilities, though the rooms are a little dated and could use a refresh. Restaurant good but overpriced, breakfast varied but not well laid out. Overall a decent stay but not something I'd want to pay full price for.

Stayed here for work. Staff were friendly except when it came to check out. It appears as if you only get good customer service at check out if you have a bar bill to settle. Room was OK but the bathroom was small and dated. The TV was good as I could hook up my tablet to the HDMI input on the side. The iron didn't work which was unfortunate. Restaurant food and service were both good.

We had an average stay at the hotel. We had a few issues. However, this hotel is held together by Francesca on reception. She is fantastic and helped us with everything! Even though we had issues she always resolved them quickly and efficiently and was very professional! Thank you for making our stay more comfortable and enjoyable! Thank you so much and you definitely deserved to be rewarded for all your hard work!

I had this hotel booked for me as I was working away. The hotel told me I couldn't eat in the restaurant because they had a wedding going on, that meant I was limited to the room service menu which comes with a charge of £5 room service per item. If you like expensive nachos then this is the place to be. Also I was told that the hotel couldn't do anything about the loud guests that were drinking in the corridor at 2am.... Not great. The hotel was also happy to let the range Rover brigade park in disabled parking without a blue badge while disabled guests had to park off site.... Awful hotel

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 1 night. The room was very nice and clean with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was a little small but functional. The pool was a good temperature, the steam room and sauna although small were nice. The jacuzzi the best part of the pool area for myself. All staff were very friendly and the food was outstanding. High quality ingredients and incredibly tasty.

The rooms are reasonable for the price, the facilities are great, the staff are friendly and professional, however, the particular room I had on my first stay (102), had an overwhelming smell of cigarettes, perhaps this was more to do with the previous occupants! My second visit was much better.

Food was nice and there was plenty of it. Service was very good, very prompt and attentive and patient with a hotel guest next to us who apparently wasn't happy about something that had happened previously. Parking is no longer free from 12 Sep, lots of signs up and machines installed, fortunately we went before that that came in

5

Quite a disappointing experience. It started off with having to queue for about 15 minutes to check in as only one member of staff was on reception. The room was lovely, no complaints about that. We were part of a group of 25 who were booked into the restaurant that evening. We had two tables of 12 and one of 2. The menu option was a choice of starter, then self service at the carvery and the dessert counter. A waitress took our orders for starters and they started coming out reasonably quickly for the people who had not ordered soup, (I thought one of the golden rules is never to serve some of the table but to make sure everyone is eating at the same time). 7 out of 12 of us on one table waited for the soup for 45 minutes! Some who had had their starter continued on to the carvery and dessert and had finished their meal before we even started. Several times we asked various staff what was happening, but to no avail. Eventually the manager appeared who informed us that chef was preparing it right now. When it came, it was not worth waiting for, obviously out of a packet and not nice at all. By now, the carvery was much depleted, empty trays, a poor selection of veg and gravy which ran out. The desserts too had nearly all gone. The manager did give us 2 bottles of wine as an apology, but for a 4 star hotel to fail on so many counts is poor. They should not accept these bookings if they cannot cope with them. After seeing previous reviews about the chaotic breakfast, I was dreading going to it, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was perfectly OK. Would I come again? Yes if it was as a couple, but for a large group, I am afraid we are looking at other options for next year.
