Rooms are dated and need a complete revamp.
The bar is massively overpriced, and the bar staff are not very helpful.
Half the ingredients for the advertised cocktails are unavailable.
Overall experience was very poor!

Bardzo fajny hotel (choc nie pierwszej swiezosci). Basen, spa, fit strefa fajna, obsluga bardzo mila, jedzenie (sniadania) smaczne, swieze i jakosciowe. Lokalizacja extra. Polecam bo cena dobra, parking nieomal za darmo a i wieczorami po przyjemnosciach w spa itp...milo spedzic czas w hotelej sali na parterze przy bilardzie czy barze. Czego chciec wiecej

Clean, good standard rooms. Family room's 3rd bed was a sofabed which for me was unusual. Lady at reception not very helpful. Hotel is close to Ayr beach and town centre. Good location and fair price.

I stayed already twice in this hotel, for few nights each time. The location s great. The rooms size is appreciated. The staff are nice (ok) and the fact that there is a Spa with a pool is really great. However EVERYTHING is old, and it really needs refreshments, rooms and spa included. I rate with only 3 stars because the price is quite high in the end.

This is NOT what I consider a 3 star hotel but I've stayed in worse! My room was tiny, they said it had a safe (lie), my closet door was missing, no iron or iron board, bed had one fitted sheet but a nice down-comforter, worn out carpet, sometimes wifi, great view of the town, polite staff, not enough towels (wash cloth missing), other than that it'll due because I came to Scotland to see Scotland not to stay the whole time in the hotel. To add, the hotel should spruce up a bit to keep visitors coming back. Cheers!

Very nice hotel. Rooms were a tad small however I am a large individual, but for the price definitely worth it. Only complaint I had was the low water pressure. Rebecca at the front desk was very kind and extremely helpful in locating dinner for the evening.

This is our second time staying in a mercure hotel the first one you could not fault but this one ayr was very disappointing, the room was not very clean and the breakfast was the worst ever cold rubber eggs even though they were brought fresh just as we got to the counter, the bar staff hardly behind bar very poor service, receptionists were polite and helpful

Nice central hotel for Ayr. Rooms are perfect for the price, although then pool/spa area is in serious need of a makeover! Good base for exploring the coast.

The staff were really nice and really friendly and there was very good service in the restaurant but the upper corridors and rooms are in need of a refurbishment but the staff made up for it an enjoyable stay.

8

Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. Unfortunately the whole hotel is very tired. Upgraded to a privilege room, but apart from Seaview & nespresso coffee machine it's not worth the £25 per night.

We have now stayed here on quite a few occasions. If you get a deal it is worth a visit. Town centre with a car park is a bonus. Food very good . A bit tired but staff great.

It's almost like the company that owns the hotel knows the it needs work but it needs that much work they don't bother.
The staff are good but you can tell they are trying their best in now I think about it...we paid £90 for one night and that was a late deal!! it's not worth that money it's like stepping back in time you can see that at one point it was probably this amazing a high-end luxury hotel but that was like 20 odd year ago.
They've tried with the rooms with 2 floating bedside cabnets but their that far away from the bed u wave your arm in the night to find it haha it's not helping and I can sleep rough at times but the beds jeez o man pressure points or what I'd opt into the car or floor first. Every lamp shade is squint and the old school bathroom suite is past it. Power showers okay but theirs no real pressure and theirs no minibar or fridge not even a cheap biscuit with your twinnings tea bags which you get 1 of each flavour so you better like everyday and eral grey.
I had no real problem with cleanliness it's one of those places you walk in and get what its all about a relatively safe bet yes but you get what you get and that's all don't pay more than like £60-70...wouldn't know how much a rooms worth but I feel mildly shafted it has location but not much else I'm writing this at 6am to pass the time the backs killer right now haha
As far as Ayr goes it's not what it used to be it has some shops mostly shut down highstreet besides the beach and you can have a nice meal but it's not much better than your own high street I feel I had more selection back home

Just really really tired and in desperate need of a refit, everything is broken or old and worn out. Staff nice but obviously aware of issues.

Breakfast quality good but layout very poor with buffet plates empty and unsupervised. Toaster ready for bin or poorly maintained as regularly required to be switched off to avoid triggering fire alarm. Rooms fine
