Visited this place in July for dinner with family. The concierge staffs were very friendly and helpful. We asked a number of questions and needing a child friendly space for dinner. The staff even took the manager to us to explain about it. The food was very nice and didn't disappoint us at all. We had the space needed for a toddler - we were well looked after. The only improvement I could recommend is the organisation for servicing. The restaurant staff were busy and a little disorientated. Otherwise they were also friendly. We enjoyed our dinner.

Recently I visited the Novotel Sydney Darling Square as part of a conference trip. For me the greatest strength of this hotel is the proximity to the convention centre, only a few minutes walk away without having to cross any roads. The room I stayed in was comfortable and well appointed; nothing innovative or inspired but neat and spacious. In particular the bathroom was a highlight and better than the average. Service was quite prompt and courteous but my interactions with them were limited. Overall, quite good.

I was quite pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were. The shower room is modern and neat. The rooms did not have a shaving set but had to be called for and most curiously, I found a large water bottle that must have been left by the cleaning staff during their housekeeping. Probably the only thing preventing their 5 star rating in my case.

Refreshed rooms are great. Pity about the construction across the road. My room was right next to it, and from about 5am the noise begins. Staff are good.

Was ok. Had good counter service and amenities. Internet was slow and food wasn't great either. Nice next to the pub

The location was great for the convection centre. 2 min walk. Rooms have been refurbished recently to a high standard. Beds comfortable. Had a room not facing the Chinese garden so was quite. Rooms only had single glazed window so rooms facing over the gardens may be noisy as a main road is right next to the building. I would stay again.

Nice hotel room and great welcome from the staff. Parking is a challenge though. Typical novotel hotel design where most of the design are identical to the chain. Love the new bathroom design but not so much for the gym. The gym is smaller and limited workout station. To get there was another challenge as only on lift going up.

Lovely area, but they could learn from country hotels. Limited complementary teas and coffees just smack of being cheap. Country hotels have biscuits and more than just 2 teabags. The rooms are comfortable, if a little small. The shower door in our unit leaked water all over the bathroom floor. The view of the Chinese garden is brilliant as are the surrounding darling harbour amenities.

Located opposite to ICC Sydney. Very good option for ppl visiting ICC Sydney. Walking distance to China Town and many other restaurants in Darling Harbour. If you are on harbour side upper floor you will get some nice views too

Single night stay, checked in around 10:30pm and the desks were empty when I arrived. No bell, no way to get someone's attention. Room looked relatively new and in very good condition. Went back down to see if I could find a place to grab a whisky and the desk staff just shrugged their shoulders and offered no suggestions aside from the mini bar which didn't have any whisky in it. Breakfast was good and reasonable priced. Overall good, but staff being a little more attentive would get that last star.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here. We stayed 2 nights in a standard room, which turns out has a king size bed and the room was a great size. I booked using a voucher so we got a great price, and the staff were just as friendly to us as if we paid full price. Great toiletries, great sized bathroom. All newly refurbished and renovated. They were still renovating the convention spaces but we couldn’t hear this from our room. Very convenient location to top attractions. The bed was super comfy, the air con worked great. And we really enjoyed our breakfasts and having dinner at the Pumphouse as well. I’ll definitely stay there again.

A great hotel that accommodated us throughout their renovations. They have new modern rooms close to darling harbour and above a funky new brew house. The dining area was great in the morning with new furniture that set a nice vibe. The food was beautiful with all the trappings for a great morning after breakfast!

Location great. Hotel and staff wonderful. Very family friendly. Can't beat breakfast for $1.00 anywhere. Perhaps a pancake machine would be a good addition to breakfast for the kids. Overall a great night's stay.

The service was prompt and good. Room was clean and ideal for our nights accommodation. Plates left in hallway overnight outside another guests room was not a good look though. Overall it was a good stay, and ideally close to city centre and ICC Theatre

The Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour is in a prime location with lovely finishes in their recently refurbished hotel rooms. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom with its rain shower head a great addition. The buffet breakfast, while small, is nonetheless delicious. Works are currently still being completed so there may be some construction noise but overall would recommend checking in.

Stayed for one night. Room on the fifth flloor facing the major road. I was worried about traffic noise but slept just fine. While you could hear the cars a bit, once the curtains were closed it wasn't loud enough to bother. Room was a nice size, well laid out, very clean, modern, nicely done. Good night's sleep and I would recommend it.

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...

The newly refurbished Novotel Rockford is a real pleasure to stay at, perfectly situated in downtown Haymarket with a spectacular view of the Chinese Gardens! Had a wonderful night there with my lover just recently and the staff upgraded us to the top floor! All in all a great 5 star experience!

Staff were helpful and friendly and rooms were nice. The big problem was the doors. All the doors 🚪 are design to pull shut or should I say, SLAM! We happen to be next to a family that had 2 rooms and they were constantly going in and out of the rooms so doors were slamming every few minutes. If they can fix the doors I'd give 5 stars.

Wonderful three-nights stay here with my wife many many 'moons' ago for free, complimented by the now 'deceased' Omegatrend. Perfect location, huge and clean room. Just within walking distance from Darling Harbour and also other tourist attractions... Sydney is simply a beautiful place to visit.

Location was great however when I booked and noticed there was no parking at the hotel it was an annoying drove away I called customer service to ask about the parking only to be yelled at by a very rude staff member.
I paid the extra fee for the buffet breakfast - mistake bacon wasn't cooked, scrambled eggs look disgusting as did the chicken sausages.
I understand they are doing refurbishments which were suppose to take place between 9-5 but was woken at 6:30am and they were going until well past 7pm. Pool was not accessible but they didn't take any money off the price.
Had to use the hotel parking as we were parked in straight away and not able to access our car over two days which cost us well over $60+ dollars in public transport and then we had to pay $110 for parking.
Newly renovated room looked nice walls are paper thin and the shower leaked everywhere so the bathroom floor was flooded.
Overall not worth the money and customer service was missing. Staff very defensive if you ask a question and get heated with you straight away even if you are only enquiring.

Everything was amazing and not to far from light rail to central station. Will consider novotel again. One bad point was the maintenance and upgrading of the hotel. only one slow lift was available.

Stayed in refurbished room and it was fantastic. New TV is awesome and bed was very comfortable. Dinner at the pump station is another story. The expensive meals are tiny. Wedges and nachos are better value for money. Great location as well with restaurants and entertainment close by.

A friend and I stayed in Room 224 for 1 night. The front desk staff were lovely and helpful regarding questions we had. The room had the twin beds as requested, however the lack of power points near the left-hand bed was inconvenient for charging and using my phone. The light switches were confusing and the bedside lights were awful for glare. We would have preferred a proper shower rather than the shower/ bath as it was not only difficult for short women to get in and out of but the standing surface is not large enough to be comfortable or feel safe in. Please consider as part of your renovations the option of a shower only bathroom choice. There's not a space to easily make a cup of tea. At the buffet breakfast the only word for the bacon is travesty.

Great central location. Friendly helpful staff. I was pleased to receive a free ticket for my husband to Madame Tussaud as a perk of staying at the hotel. Ask for a window with a view. We looked down into the Chinese gardens. A very pleasant stay 😊

We arrived early and they were not able to provide an early check-in. They did however take our baggage and delivered it to room once one became available. Staff were courteous and very efficient. Room was clean and the beds were well turned down. Washroom was well appointed and AC was easy to use. I would stay here again.

This hotel is disorganized. I asked the front desk to call a cab and waited for 25 minutes to get one (in the end I just walked down the street and caught a cab within 30 seconds). I called room service and it took over 25 minutes to get silverware delivered to my room. The showers next to the fitness center are not adequately stocked with shampoo and conditioner. The rooms are fine, pretty standard looking with relatively clean, but not totally sparkling, bathrooms. My biggest complaint is the service. Staff is somewhat friendly but definitely not well organized. Stay somewhere else and save yourself many small frustrations.

Reception staff were great, room clean and toddy. We had a Accor hotels gift card but could not use it to pay online so we called the hotline and was told we had to book a non conditions room with no upfront payment. All those rooms were at a much higher rate, so to use the voucher we had to pay more for the room. Went to have a drink before heading back to our room at the hotels pump house bar at 11pm on a Saturday night but it was closing.

Great friendly staff, large rooms and right in the heart of the city. Loved the view, the extra inclusions and the pool and sauna. It is a bit noisy at night though and the blinds still let a little light in. Beautiful place to eat breakfast and relax in City would recommend.

Room was old and a bit tired. No plug sockets anywhere near the bed. Only one lift was working. Stairs were obviously the alternative and they had fire doors propped open for people to walk through. Did grab a drink and dinner in the PumpHouse and that seemed a decent spot. All in all, very expensive for the quality.

Great location, situated just behind Darling harbour. Can access the darling harbour park, wharf and the good restaurants there in couple of hundred meters walk. However, no great view from the rooms. Swimming pool and gym are just ok.

Not great customer service either. They place a 'Room Maintenance' card in the room that can be used by the guests to raise a complaint, share their feedbacks or place a request. I filled that to place a request with them the second day I checked in only to be found not picked up / attended till I checked out 5 days later.

Room price of $285 a day is certainly more for this place. There are many good alternatives at this rate.

The room was tidy and well stocked with a comfy bed and a roll out bed on request. Free Wi-Fi is always good too!

The staff there were very accommodating and great with the kids, giving them small gifts on number of occasions.

Our package included a buffet breakfast as well which was great and had something for everyone.

The location was great, being able to walk to most local attractions in a short time, the only issue being the roads and parking situation.

Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour is an good hotel. Do not get me wrong I enjoyed my room. Not huge but comfortable. Good sized bathroom and the multiplug phone charger by the bed us great. I also love the breakfast area and cafe. But in the evening there is no lobby bar. Instead you wander down to the end of the hotel to the Pumphouse Restaurant and Bar. Its a nice enough pub. Rubbish loud pub music but nice pub ambience and pub food. But not a quiet bar where you can unwind or chat with a colleague. Its a pub right. So as a pub iys great. But I really miss a bar in the lobby. maybe with some quiet background muzak or better still nothing but the sound of ice clinking and cracking in a tumbler. They have space, once again that great breakfast dining room with cafe area. Hell even a coffee in the evening there would be fine. Am I whingeing? Maybe. Anyway its a goid hotel. just with a pub and not a bar.

Great location only minutes walk away from Darling Harbour. Not a fantastic view from the windows, but that's okay when you're in such a great location. Room was clean and comfortable with a large LCD TV, very comfortable king sized bed and strong air conditioning / heating. Nice, spacious bathroom and we had the free buffet breakfast which was reasonably good. The staff are friendly and helpful, made for a great overall experience.

Worst Sydney hotel l have stayed in.
Despite booking weeks in advance through a travel agent we were put on the 4th floor.
We heard all the comings and goings, doors slamming and drunken farewells until the early hours.
Given our early booking we did not deserve one of this hotels worst rooms.

REALLY NOT UP TO THE NOVOTEL STANDARD & NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. Rating would be worse if not for location and general cleanliness. Too pricey for standard of accommodation, and particularly service. Location is good (between light rail and Darling Harbour). Rooms fairly standard, but bathroom is a little small. Staff and a specific facility issue really let this hotel down though - housekeeping entering without knocking, reception sounding initially sceptical when ringing to correct bedding configuration fault, odd bedside wiring situation where lamps had no switches and could only be turned off with master switch (ie had to remove bulbs to charge electronics while sleeping). After hour key access didn't work (no biggy as reception manned, but had to knock on windows to get attention). Didn't locate hotel services booklet in room after extensive search, so had little idea of internet situation, pool hours etc without asking reception. Didn't try brekky there.

I was invited to a conference at the Novotel for 3 days and all I can say is that it was ok, similar to other conferences I have attended. I was not staying in the hotel so this is just a review on the conference facilities.

The facilities were ok, tea and coffee regularly refreshed and mid morning and afternoon snacks were uneventful. The lunch time spread at the buffet was really good though but the dining room table layout and excessive amount of windows made it noisy and hard to maneuver round once you had got a chair.

Overall the location of this venue is great, close to Central station, china town and bars for those after conference dinner and drinks.
