Surprisingly great ambience for a hotel lobby bar. Vibrant and busy but equally relaxing. Mocktails were deliciously complex. Canapes were a 10. Function room presented perfectly. Service staff were meticulous and very attentive. Great wedding venue.

We had the most amazing time at Ovolo Woolloomooloo!! Cannot fault anything, everything was of a very high quality. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the food was fantastic, the staff were lovely and the inclusions all exceeded our expectations!! On top of that, the general feel of the hotel is unique and fun. Best hotel in Sydney, we won't be staying anywhere else.

Stunning venue with some beautiful decor. I would describe as quite Japanese in style, I love the clock above reception and the blossom trees. Some really nice areas to relax/chat. Good selection of drinks and the staff are really friendly. Highly recommended!

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are just wonderful, the rooms stunning and the service and everything else faultless. The happy hour for people staying at the hotel is a lovely and generous plus. I would’ve moved in if I could! Location is also great for anyone looking to really get a feel for Sydney. It’s close enough to hustle and bustle but also far enough away for some peace and quiet. Explore Elizabeth Bay if you do stay here!

I love the vibe! This hotel is awesome. Spacious guest rooms, modern but at the same time historical, close to the tourist spots but in a quiet wharf-side section of the city. They play a great 80’s playlist throughout the building. The only thing I didn’t like is the slow glass elevator and there are no stairs if you’re in a hurry.

Can't fault our stay here. Awesome pick! Clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, very cool and unique vibe, cocktails were fabulous, great inclusions if you book direct, vegetarian heaven, quite location, this place ticks all the boxes. Can't wait to come back!

Attended for a conference. Brought my newborn baby with me and advised there was no parent room/nappy change facilities! I was directed to a disabled access toilet and told that a nappy change table was on their "things to do list".
Did they want me to change bub's nappy on the toilet floor??
I encourage you to get that nanny change facility sorted out. For such a hotel in such a central location it seems poor form not to have this facility already.
Otherwise the facilities were good. Clean and respectable. Good food. Staff ok. Great location.

Very trendy hotel. Maybe trying to be to trendy. The room was great. I think they need to give the restaurant staff some uniforms, or similar jackets, as you can't tell whether someone is a guest or working at the hotel when having breakfast for example. The included happy hour is great, even though some of our drink orders were incorrect, and the mini bar is mini but covers some beers, white and red wine. Is it better since becoming Ovolo? I'm not fully convinced.

Have envisaged a stay in this Fabulous Ovolo Woolloomooloo Hotel for some time now....And wow! All expectations exceeded. From the minute you enter the ultra glam, and quirky historic establishment, this sets the scene for a fun and memorable stay. The staff are all so 1st class gracious and attentive. Love the little extras and attention to detail artful decor, and iconic music references ..and Alexa, well what a treat...Could not fault..be back in a heartbeat.

All up good experience. Very friendly consistent service. Suites on 5 are large, comfy beds and quiet. Walking distance to Potts Point, NSW art gallery, botanical gardens, city and the wharf is a destination itself. Value for money stay.

Fantastic hotel! 80s retro theme with songs from the 80s playing at the right volume through out the hotel premise definitely is something unique. They even have free to play arcade machines from the 80s!
The 2 floors suite is amazing with bottom level as living room, and top floor as bedroom. Oh did i mention the mini bar in the room is free as well? And it's loaded with wine, beer, soft drinks, mineral water, and sparkling water!
Everything is right for this hotel! Highly recommended!

I have just returned from a 4 day stay at Ovolo Woolloomooloo. From the moment you step into the foyer you know you are in for a treat. The staff are wonderful - I would especially like to mention Simone who is an angel. They were all willing to offer assistance wherever needed, making recommendations on restaurants, walks around the area, what buses/trains to catch. We especially loved the attention to detail - free mini bar, great selection for breakfast, happy hour and a parting gift. The rooms are funky are spacious and clean. Our favourite part was returning after a big day out to sit by the fire area enjoying canapes and a free drink as part of happy hour. Would highly recommend it and will be back for sure xx Thank you Ovolo. What a wonderful hotel

Super polite and friendly staff and good products (biology body care and shampoo) including complimentary mini bar. Overall a bit overpriced, ventilation duct was dusty and water pressure in the shower was weak. Breakfast was really boring and small too.

Really great atmosphere in a hotel that is so different from any other. Fantastic service from the minute we pulled up in the car. Only one gripe... the shower needs better lighting which is small fix for a great hotel. Lots of extras including mini bar, breakfast, snack bar, and happy hour (if you book through ovolo).

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...

You have to do it! This is a great place to stay. We had one night, valet the car on arrival and headed to our room. These rooms are really comfy and clean. We headed over to the art gallery and then had a drink at the hotel bar which was pleasant. You can download and app and juke box pick the music played throughout the reception/bar which is really cool as it sounds unreal over their sound system. Dinner was easy on the wharf with top class restaurants, take your pick. I would definitely book as some can get quite busy.

I've stayed at the Ovolo twice now and both times received some of the most exceptional customer service of my life. I observed the staff treat every customer like a VIP and upon learning that it was my one year anniversary with my partner they went out of their way to provide bonus upgrades to make our evening unforgettable. Would recommend in a heartbeat to anyone looking for an exceptional service, impeccable decor as well as great packages full of included goodies at very reasonable prices. THANK YOU OVOLO FOR BEING SO FABULOUS! XX

Absolutely the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were superb and service was beyond the call of duty. Would have been nice to have had a wider choice of food in the evening but otherwise I have no complaints at all - would always choose this hotel again when coming back to Sydney.

Without a doubt, the Ovolo at Woolloomooloo is regarded as my Sydney “Home away from home “, not only as I had actually physically lived on the property for a no of years some time ago, but every time we return for however length of stay, we are regarded and treated like family.
I welcomed and now love the changes that have made to “the Wharf “. There’s a real “skip on its step “ now - and I think the free breakfast bar might have something to do with it !
Love it guys ! See ya soon !

Staff was friendly, room was awesome as it had a speaker along with Alexa, and also an Apple TV! One thing was probably that the lifts are a bit slow, but not a huge factor! (Wouldn't say the location is the best, as it's a long way to get to from the city, and the peak hour jam is bad..)

It's basically a dock renovated into exhibition place and makes it rather unique. The interior is a mixture of old structure plus modern flair to it. Once entering main door, there's a stair that leads to the main hall. For any organizer who looking for a place to host an event, I personally recommended this place to be considered.

Possibly one of the best stays I've ever had in a hotel! From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left, it was an absolute pleasure. The staff made us feel like royalty attending to our every need and even helping us plan our stay in Sydney. It was super quite with a spectacular view of the harbor and a quick walk to the gardens that went right to Sydney harbor.

Somehow, this modern venue which sits in what was an old warehouse on the docks has massaged to transform what could have been a rather dark and drafty space intowelcoming venue complete with cosy fires, tempting bar snacks (or a meal of you are keen) and attentive bar staff. Perfect start to the evening of you are at the wharf.

I was meeting a colleague at the hotel cafe. I have to say the staff were absolutely lovely, very helpful and happy to make our time there easy.
However I must say it the cleanliness of the tables was a little bit less than what I would have expected. There was old food, dirty smears and crumbs on several empty tables.
However, The food (we had limited amounts of) was very tasty and I can recommend the sandwiches.

Ovolo is an hotel occupying much of the first half (closest to the road) of the Finger Wharf complex. Ovolo has a breezy, spacious bar on this level (not seen) open to the public. This photo sphere was taken at the far end of the hotel and the beginning of the residential apartments.

Traveled the world and the seven seas...65 countries, Aman Resorts, Taj, SLH.... But I think Ovolo Hotel in Wooloomooloo Sydney is my favorite hotel of all time.

It's a stunning location literally inside the historic Cowper Wharf, built in 1888 to receive the hordes of immigrants fleeing war, famine and pestilence to make a new home Down Under.

The 100 meter long steam punk structure is flanked by some of Sydney's best restos, botanical gardens, running trails, the Opera House, and neighborhood shopping.

The hotel itself is spacious, bold, daring, brilliant. The public spaces vary from intimate to open, the materials, lighting, finished are impeccable. The rooms are big, even huge. We stayed on the skyline side (recommended) in a room framed by massive riveted beams and timbers, set off by carefully curated, brightly colored furniture that bridges that difficult divide between a modern aesthetic and homey comfort.

The impact a great lighting designer can make is often overlooked. Ovolo in Wooloomooloo (careful, there are several Ovolo's in Sydney, this is the one you want) is an stunning example of how lighting can transform ordinary to extraordinary.

Also loved the wildly hip music mix (Dolly Parton to Drake), interesting micro-fragrances and awesome buffet. Gym is small but plenty of free weights, gorgeous indoor pool and hot tub.

Unusually, this is a hotel that caters equally to fashion models, movie stars, AND families with kids. The lobby is packed with places for young hearted kids is all ages to explore: vintage Pac-Man machines, amazing wood and iron 130 year old freight conveyors, the clear blue Sydney harbour waters just outside. Generally, I don't love staying in a hotel with kids around, but the Ovolo's soundproofing is impressive: we were next to a room with kids bouncing and running but my GF never stirrred from her nap and I could barely hear the happy kids.

Only caution is if you stay here during the winter, remember Sydney can be cold, and the lobby is built inside a cavernous waterfront building five stories high so it can get a little chilly. The snuggling areas throughout the lobby have great little radiant heaters though, so not a big thing.

Speaking of warm, the staff are warm, thoughtful, genuinely interested in making sure you're happy (the hotel's motto is "happy, shiny people" and password is "REM". Says it all...)

I will always stay here when in Sydney, and I'll even stop over in the way elsewhere just to see the new art and meet new people. Could not have had a better time.

(BTW I'm not a paid reviewer just loved the place)

Clean, stylish and amazingly comfortable bed! Free mini bar is great, but free breakfast is a bit of a let down. The buffet is limited to hard boiled eggs, make your own toastie, hash brown, fruit, pastries and some sides. No scrambled eggs, beans or bacon and only full cream or skinny milk. Eggs and alternative milks are on the a la carte menu at extra cost.

If visiting in winter, rug up for breakfast because the high ceiling makes it freezing!

Saturday night a lot of noise carried up from the lobby and dining area as there was a birthday party.

All in all though, very clean, beautiful design, great service and location and nice touches throughout. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel. Really funky atmosphere here. Staff are super friendly and helpful, nothing is too much. Room was nice, loft room had great downstairs area, bedroom was great, bed was super comfy. Having the included mini bar and snacks was great.
The continental breakfast is quite substantial and nice, and they have a coffee shop in the lobby for treats.
This is really nice hotel that I'll be recommending you friends for sure.

Spent nine nights at this hotel and was quite impressed with the loft room we had booked. We were on the fifth floor and the view of the city and marina was great. Proximity to restaurants close as situated on wharf and good walks into city and harbour, pubs and convenience shops across road also. Staff were very friendly and attentive, I found they couldn't do enough for us. I would stay at this hotel again if we found ourselves back in Sydney. The only thing I found fault with the room was lack of hanging space as we were in Sydney for a formal event my dress was too long for the half space above the safe, but no major drama as I hung it over a light fitting!! Other than that I enjoyed our stay immensly

Disclaimer: I am a regular Sydney business traveller looking for single person accommodation, preferring king size beds and lots of amenities

Overall the Blue is a unique hotel with a lot of charm in an interesting area. Unfortunately they're under renovation right now (until end of September), and that negatively affected the experience. I didn’t hear noise while sleeping, but did find it annoying while leaving the hotel both days. The "noise survival kit" was cute, but not replenished like they said it would be. The bellhops were very attentive, but perhaps because they were starved for guests!
Location: Wooloomooloo. Interesting area, but a bit out of the way from the Sydney CBD.
Size: Nice sized room with a lounge chair, desk, many windows looking on to the street (unfortunately not the harbour), and a large bathroom.
Cleanliness: Very clean. No marks on the walls. Slight dent on one of the bathroom doors.
Bed: King, with a soft, comfortable mattress. Nice pillows.
Electrical Sockets: Tons! 6 on one side of the bed, 2 on the other. I charged everything each night.
TV: 1 TV, didn't use it.
Minibar: Chocolate, small selection of alcohol- liquor and beer. The liquor was $19/bottle for those tiny bottles! The highest I've seen.
Coffee: Coffee Bags- tea bag style, which I hate, and little milk cups. They had a plunger and grounds but it cost $6
Desk: Ethernet cables, good size.
Bathroom: Large tub, nice shower with top down and side shower heads. Good temperature control that was consistent.
Toiletry options: Decent size, but I had a really bad hair day the first day that I blame on the shampoo and conditioner. Also, a couple of them were already open when I checked them. And, the vanity kit was an empty box!
Closet: Two closets, lots of room.
Clock Radio: iPhone5 jack, didn't try it.
View: Nice, but faced the wrong way.
Thermostat: 28 16. Best I've seen, nice airflow.
Gym: N/A. They have the fitness center available. Didn't see it.
Pool: ditto.
Restaurants and/or Bars: Lots of adjacent restaurants with bars. Decent crowds, but didn't try any of them.
Special Features: They're under construction starting 7th July, ending in September. They gave me a "noise survival kit" that included a fancy face mask, ear plugs, tea, and a shot of jack daniels! They told me at reception they would refill anything I used the next day. Unfortunately they did not. Perhaps I just had a bad housekeeper.
Room Service: They have it but I didn't get a chance to try it.

Large room. Was not very impressed that my King Marina view room only had a view of the shops across the road. Could just see the marina from the hall to the bathroom . If they give you a room ending in 1 ask to change.

Great and very prestigious location. The hotel it self has an amazing foyer with what looks to be an amazing bar, only open Thurs to Sunday. The rooms are large but not very clean. Windows have cobwebs and bathroom sink was mouldy. Would have expected more given the price.
