Great Hotel, Great Food, Great Holiday. Really great stay for our wonderful week in Portugal! Beautiful views from the outside lounging areas which are complimented by extremely friendly staff that are always there if and when you need them. Always makes a change and aids in feeling welcome. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious with everything you could ever need. We felt very at home here.

We would definitely stay here again should we find ourselves in the Algarve again.

Full of the older generation in the colder months however! 😅

Amazing hotel with really nice facilities. The room with the ocean view was amazing. You can see the beach and the pool from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I had. They had many options including sugar free and gluten free. Their tarts were amazing. The beach is 2 minutes away, just a couple of stairs away. It was a great weekend getaway.

Lovely hotel, stayed here in Oct 2019, standard room was large, comfy beds and clean rooms. We stayed on half board, breakfast was great and dinner good choice of food. Good facilities, pools were clean and surrounding areas clean. Beach was direct access via some steps(139) good work out.

Really nice hotel, well maintained and rooms and food were very good. Negatives were no real entertainment despite it being advertised during the day and very sedate at night. Final point was the customer service which despite lots of good reviews was really lacklustre with the exception of reception and bellhop. Overall a good hotel but lacks that little extra to get 5 stars

Wow, what a hotel. We were sad to leave. Birched on a cliff overlooking the sea.
Lovely long sandy beach at the bottom of 136 flight of wooden steps. There are benches to catch your breath if you cant manage or want to chill.
The hotel has a basement heated pool, jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. The food was fantastic, but too much choice.
We were sad to leave. Believe me, we are saving hard to return, that's how great it was. Enjoy. 😊

One of the nicest hotels I've ever had the pleasure to visit. They have ocean views and beach access. You can walk on the rooftop for more amazing views. 2 restaurants, a lounge/ bar area that has a dance floor, 2 pools [indoor and outdoor], a billiard table, ping pong table, chess, and a room for board games. I'm already considering planning my next trip to come back. I could go on but I only had one night to stay. Really wish I could have stayed longer.

This week has been amazing. The setting is stunning, the beach is 4 miles of bliss with a spectacular backdrop of cream and rust coloured cliffs. The food, service and staff are first rate. Would I come again? In a heartbeat !

Rooms are over the edge- old, used furnitures and bathrooms. Bad service at restaurant esp. for dinner. Arrogant reception employees. Always the same food, no really varities - Not always in best quality.

Stayed on a self catering basis. Clean room and adequate space for two adults and a two year old.
Recently refurbished the pool and exterior are well presented.
Never ate at the hotel as there were many places to eat just a short walk away which were very good quality at reasonable prices even though the exchange is poor.
Try the local 'green' wine 'Vinho Verde' if you like white wine with a twist.

I love it here. So relaxing. Clean hotel and beach. Buffet breakfast and evening meal with so much choice it amazes us. The sea warm and fun waves to pretend surf with. Rock pools with tiny fish and crabs apparently but I couldn't see them. Very camouflaged according to my granddaughter. A great family resort with cliff views, music in evening and swimming pools inside and out

5

Great location with the beach a short walk. Evening buffet was good and if we hadn't been to the Madeira Porto this would of got four stars. The reason this only got three stars are a few of the staff weren't that customer focused. As I say this is a three to four star review and mainly because we compared to the Porto bay in Madeira where the rooms are bigger, food slightly better and staff slightly friendlier hence the three.

A first class 4 star+ hotel that you would expect from the Portobay group. Rooms good. maid service excellent. Food outstanding (I recommend half board). Then the beach, down quite a few steps, is incredible!
Lovely place. Not a noisy hotel either

Loved this hotel. Rooms are clean and airy. Staff are very polite nothing was too much for them. The only tiny issue is that it felt like my daughter and i were in a retirement home at breakfast time.

Really nice room and very comfortable bed, pillows were high quality too. High quality en-suite with towels for room and pool. Breakfast was a nice surprise, full range buffet with choices for all. Outdoor pool is nice and overlooking the beach. There is a also a spa, gym and tennis courts. The staff seem to speak every language and were very friendly, quickly able to help us with local information and booked our departure airport transfer for us. We will definitely be returning.

We went to PortoBay Falésia in April and we were astonished by the quality of this hotel as far as the service, the view, the food, the room are concerned. Everything was perfect. The view you get on the sea from there is magnificent. The garden is beautiful. The outdoor pool was a bit cool but ok it was only April and the prices of the snack bar are a bit high but we went out to buy something cheaper to eat. So, we'll definitly come back to Portobay Falésia, hoping its price will remain affordable.

This is the typical beach hotel, turned for the masses, and the crowd is made more of foreigners than of portuguese. The rooms are confortable, and the staff is nice, the breakfast is good and plentifull, and the pools are good enough.
Since this is an hotel more turned to the family, the bar closed very early (at midnight) and the music at around 23:30. Nevertheless there's plenty of selection of drinks in the bar and a good deal of gins to choose from.

Now the bad part:
- The parking space is clearly scarce for an hotel of this size and we had problems finding a place to park, even on the road
- Paid wi-fi! Not that this a major issue, but for the life of me, I can't understand why cheaper hotels provide free wi-fi, and this kind of hotels charge for it. Ok, you have free wi-fi in the lobby, but in the rooms it's paid. Not that this would a reason for us not to stay, but still.

Also, be aware that although the bech near the hotel is wonderfull, you need to climb 166 steps of stairs to get there. This wasn't a problem for us, but for older people it could be problematic.

The personnel is kind and friendly. The rooms were clean and the service was pretty good. We had some problems with our door and they were solved properly. Some of the food could have better quality.

The hotel promotes itself with photographs which focus on its impressive surroundings. Certainly, it is set amongst magnificent scenery. But the view from Porto Bay Falésia is like the spectacular panorama from The Shard: you cannot see the ugliest structure on London’s skyline - because you’re inside it. In the same way, this building is an unsightly concrete block perched upon majestic cliffs which mark out the stunningly beautiful coastline.
In general we found the staff at Porto Bay Falésia to be very helpful and pleasant, but there is a rotten apple damaging the hard work his colleagues put in. In reviews, I can normally name individuals who deserve special praise; but here I must single out Diogo from the hotel’s reception who is repeatedly awkward and difficult with guests, shamefully letting down the rest of his team.
Our final account had spurious charges for car parking added to it. The invoice is itemised in Portuguese, so it is easy for the hotel to slip in extra costs. Even when Diogo removed the incorrect items, he still miscalculated the total and attempted to overcharge us a second time.
At Porto Bay Falésia you should check your bill with extreme care, particularly if Diogo does the maths.
