Green Key Eco-Rating Program 4

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

The Sawridge Inn was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the price was perfect for what was provided. The prices for portions in the restaurant were a little high for portions provided but all was good. The complimentary breakfast beat our expectations greatly. Was sad to hear that the hotel is closing in future months as it was sold to the local business, Summit trucks.

The rooms are absolutely amazing here. They are very clean. The pool and hot tub are gone though. Since this place is closing it's doors. Don't understand why. It's such a nice place and the parking lot is always full

What more could can I say. I love this place. There's something more to this place than just a room. The staff is great, food something more than your typical restaurant, and an atmosphere unlike most. This place definitely embodies a true North spirit that truly is #albertastrong

The hotel was reasonably priced, and the lobby and hotel itself look very nice. The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable. The breakfast buffet (included) was very good, but considering most people get up very early it would be nice if it started at 530. Only other thing to improve would be the tvs. It takes about 3 seconds to change channels..kind of makes you not even want to turn it on.

When we arrived for check in, the lady at the front desk asked if we'd been told they weren't accepting more guests. We hadn't been. She said they had a room for us back at the Best Western Plus, and it was taken care of. That was back 14 km in the direction we had just come from so we went back. Beautiful new hotel. Lady there had 1 room available with 1 bed and that it had been taken care of. There were 4 of us. We didn't have any choice, so the kids slept on the floor. On my way home I get a call from the Sawridge that we are being charged for the room at the Sawridge, (the two queen beds we didn't get).

Like most places in Fort Mac they're having a huge staffing loss problem because of the evacuation - but the that have come back or are new are pretty fantastic and even though i was a little annoyed at a slightly longer than usual line to get help at the front desk or the restaurant - I got over it pretty quickly because every single staff member was super friendly and welcoming!

Was really happy with my room - it was big, had a nice sized desk, really comfy arm chair and an even comfyer bed with QUALITY pillows!
(pillow quality is very important me!)

Always love their organic face soap and am addicted to their minty shampoo & conditioner now! The front desk had some larger take home bottles for sale that i was grateful for but also let me know about the Native Lady that makes them and where i could get more from later! I was impressed that they had such a cool story!

I ate off the buffets for the majority of my meals and i was impressed with the diversity - I was afraid that after week 1 i would be tired of the same old buffets, but i was surprised something new everyday.

The pool & hot tub wasn't open because of the boil water advisory but the Gym was.

AND the WiFi let me watch netflix without any lag!
all in all, it was a great stay!

The Chef's Table dinners are the best meal in Fort McMurray! The price is a premium to Normal dinners but this is more what you get in a fine restaurant in New York! Wow!!!
