The rooms were awesome, the people made you feel like you were at home. The food is decent but more than a week would be repetitive. The drinks were poured strong and were on point. Nothing but good things to say and I would definitely go back again. Sarah & Oscar are awesome!!!

Very relaxing place. All inclusive does include alcohol. Doesn't have it's own beach access (a little rocky out front), but the infinity pool is right at the oceans edge, so if you in it for the view and water with no sand, it meets all the needs.

OK. Joining the Chorus of praise for this little gem of a Hotel. Its small and all inclusive (38 rooms). All of the rooms have an ocean view but I highly recommend to ask for a room in the 2nd or 3rd floor and closer to the sides of the hotel for more privacy. The food isn't your typical all inclusive lowest common denominator food. Its quite good. And the drinks aren't watered down. The Food and Beverage staff are attentive and creative and it shows. We stayed there for a week and ate at least 2 meals a day, never got bored. We pretty much had the whole menu and never had anything that wasn't at least 4 out of 5 stars. While the hotel doesn't have its own beach, it does have access to two vey nice beaches on either side of the hotel. On one side is a series of private residences so the beaches are very quiet and secluded. On the other side is a big resort so the beach is busy and lively. So Choices. Bottom line is that its a great place for a romantic get away.

Small, intimate, quiet, great for couples. Food is good, drinks not watered down, service is good. Room is huge and beautiful. Great infinity pool overlooking the water.

Relaxing and beautiful hotel! Very well-kept! Friendly staff! We stayed here for our honeymoon. Was a Brilliant choice since it was adults only hotel. Pick this place if you want relaxing time in a quite place. Its not huge like some of resorts around here. Very quite at night. More like a romantic getaway kind of place. The Food at the restaurant is soo amazing. The rooms are FANTASTIC! in room Jacuzzi and well as one of the balcony with an amazing ocean view. Definitely recommend!

This is the most magnificent, beautiful resort we have ever visited. I read a couple of negative reviews and I can truly say, "shame on you, obviously you don't have a clue what first class is. The staff went beyond to make you feel special. The food so decadent. I recommend this without hesitatiom.

Food is amazing. Staff couldn't be more polite. Very unique and interesting place to call home for several days. Restaurant menu changes daily. Love the breakfast, and on Italian night I had perhaps the best lasagna I've ever had. Our regular server Paul was extremely friendly and helpful. Hot tubs and rooftop bar are great, and stay open until 2am. Blown away by the service and ambiance of this resort. Would absolutely love to return for another extended stay.

Loved my stay! The room was very spacious, the tub on the rocks was awesome! The mini 2 person pool/hot tub on the balcony was a great touch! Only 38 rooms at this hotel small & secluded. Perfect spot! All rooms have an ocean view, listening to the waves is spectacular! From the moment we got there to the moment we left we were treated so well. Customer service is excellent! Angel at the front desk made it possible with roses on our bed (heart shaped) for our anniversary. Adrian at the front desk catered to our every need for all 4 days. Andrea at the pool bar was so attentive, memorized our drinks & kept them coming. Her customer service was excellent! Pool or hot tubs were never crowded. View is amazing. Manuel at the upstairs restaurant was awesome, remembered our names & always greeted us with a smile. The food was different from lunch to dinner. And on Wednesday they had a totally different menu. It was so delicious! We were not disappointed. My husband & I truly enjoyed ourselves & will be coming back. So many details & so much to say!!

Wonderful small boutique property. Totally safe and secluded with a super friendly and helpful staff. Adults only so no screaming kids at pool. Great food and all this for far less than you would pay elsewhere.

This place is a 39 room Hotel. Every room is Ocean View very clean and large rooms. The restaurant is run by a chef and the food is very good. If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat buffet this is not the place. All meals are included in the all-inclusive but are ordered off of menu. They are remodeling the top floor and was kind of noisy at times but overall very satisfying stay. I probably wouldn't stay here more than 5 to 7 days in a row the food tends to be monotonous after that period of time. The infinity pool is very nice. And the crash of the ocean waves can be heard from every room. The beach in front of the hotel is non-existent. The ocean butts up against the infinity pool. There is adequate Beach on either side of the hotel with easy access. Overall a good stay and I would stay here again. And that's saying quite a bit this is my 18th trip to Mexico.

Overall, the experience was fantastic. We were disappointed that the nude area was not open, and there were a couple of room service instances that left something to desired, but otherwise, the service was great and everyone took great care of us.

Me and my husband stayed at this resort for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING. The rooms are even better than the pictures, and they were cleaned everyday. The staff is so helpful and friendly, they fulfilled all our requests. The pool area was beautiful, especially with the open restaurant. Our favorite part was the rooftop hot tub, absolutely breathtaking up there. Just wish the rooftop bar was better. I asked for a few different drinks and they didn’t have anything. Also the food is amazing, besides dinner. Their breakfast and lunch menus have a lot to choose from but their dinner menu is lacking a lot. We booked the romantic dinner on the beach and it was wonderful!! We chose the lobster tails and received 2 huge lobster tails EACH! We definitely recommend it for couples! We will definitely be back in the future.

I would give them 2.5 out of 5 stars, but that's not an option, so I will give them 3 stars because the room is very spacious, there is an oceanfront view and the food tastes very good. But let me break down the review in the parts: good, bad, recommendations.

Good:
- Very spacious room.
- Sexy all over the room. It definitely looks like it is designed to be sexy.
- The shower and the bathtub design are great.
- Rooms do look like the pictures, or at least they are very similar.
- Oceanfront view in most rooms with breathtaking sunrise scenarios.
- Private Balcony with private pool in each room.
- Oceanfront restaurant with amazing flavors.
- Infinity pool with bungalow style (4) private beds.
- Boutique hotel with limited guests/rooms and no kids.
- Jacuzzi areas on rooftop with two areas and a bar. One area is nude, so you are free to let it hang.
- Good drinks with cheap booze, but they do the trick.
- Great food, mostly, with good options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Bad:
- Service takes forever. Room service will take at least 1 hour each time.
- Even at the restaurant, each order of anything (drinks or food) will take a very long time.
- There is only 1 restaurant for all the rooms and guests.
- Restaurant is open only 8 AM to 10 PM, nothing before or after that.
- Limited dessert options.
- No cold water or at least that is what we experienced in our room.
- You have to call ahead to request the private pool to be filled.
- Front desk takes forever to answer the phone, if you ever get lucky to get them to answer the phone. Goes back to the service comment.
- We were not able to get anyone to help us with the Xel-Ha tickets.
- You are far from everything, so plan ahead. Drive or cab to anywhere outside.
- Signs needed for the construction time. The road was terrible and it seems like they are working on this, but it is not easy to get to the hotel.
- Rooftop bar is supposed to be open, but we never saw it open when we were there. Again, limited hours and poor service.
- Oceanfront does not mean beach-front. To go to the beach, you have to walk a bit to other hotel's beach front areas.
- Jacuzzi's were not clean and seemed like you could catch an infection by just looking at them.
- Rooftop nude area is what you expect, older crowd that should not be nude, but this is not for the hotel to manage/limit.
- We asked for water at the room and never got it.
- Mini fridge only gets 3-4 sodas and 2-3 beers per day.
- Our room was cleaned well only once.

Recommendations:
- To the hotel management: Hire more staff and provide a faster service.
- Order ahead of time to make up for the 1 hour wait.
- Prepare for the restaurant off-time by ordering before they close for a late snack and being prepared.
- At the restaurant, just walk up to the bar at the restaurant and ask for your drink(s) there.
- Print your map because it gets tricky. It is located in Playa Paraiso, right after JOyá - Cirque Du Soleil.
- Bring plenty of $1's for tipping.

Honestly, I think we will not stay here again. For the price, we can find a better place.

The hotel has a lot of potential, but it needs to improve quite a bit.

There were a lot of unknowns when I initially booked this hotel but I liked the price and the fact that it was adults only. Ok when we arrived in Mexico we originally planned to rent a car but we ended up just taking a shuttle (long story). When we arrived at the resort we were greeted by an outdoor reception area. It was passed 10pm so nothing was open anymore and we couldn't do anything but go to bed. On the reception side of the resort it seems like a very cheap motel almost. All doors going to the outside with small catwalks and less than perfect paint. But when you walk into the room your impressions are completely changed!! All 38 rooms are the same. You walk into a small kitchenette that has water, soda, beer and small snacks at your disposal. Upon walking in further you see a huge walk in shower with a rain foccet as well as a big jetted tub. The tub is big enough for one person of any size and two average sized people. The shower is big enough to fit four people comfortably. Then there is a double sink bathroom with tons of counter space. An enclosed toilet and a walk in closet. The closet is lacking sufficient amount of hangers especially for long stays but it was still nice. Going further into the room you have a huge room with a king bed and sitting area. The furniture for this area is going to be different in every room but really nice. There is a long marble countertop against the wall to put belongings throughout the day. A huge tv and interesting decor. The TV only has about 5 english channels, two of which are porn, one sports, one news and one movie channel. Going out to the balcony is amazing. It's very private (unless your on the first floor) and it comes with two lounge chairs and a bath tub/pool. The pool must be filled and drained by maintainence staff. It's cold water and doesn't change temperature. But it's really nice to have your own little area. The hotel literally sits right on the beach, where the water is actually touching the pool walls. The views are spectacular. There is a fairly good sized pool with four or five cobana beds and tons of lounge chairs. There is one restaurant. It's under shelter but all the walls are glass doors that open. The only cooling available is roof fans or a breeze so it can get uncomfortably hot while dining but once again spectular views. There's a menu for each meal and on some nights that menu changes for dinner. Common things for breakfast include capaccino, orange juice, water, cereal, oatmeal and lots of variations with eggs. Lunch is mostly bugers/sandwiches and fries and dinner there are a lot of fish options. They have a bar down stairs by the restaurant and one up on the roof. The hours are strict 8am-10pm. The hotel is located kind of off the beaten path. Don't expect to walk anywhere! Also I haven't seen any place to park so if there is get ready to walk. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes outside playa del Carmen. They offer a free shuttle that will take you there at 1030 am and pick you up at 430pm. Anywhere else you go you'll have to pay. A minimum of 350 pesos or $25 ish USD. The staff are all very friendly but only a handful of them speak some English. Fewer are fluent. None of the maintenance staff speak any. I would brush us on your Spanish school lessons before you come. Overall I think this is a great place to stay. The staff has been very accomadating. This is a perfect place if you just want to relax by the beach. If you want to do tons of activities you may want to go closer to the cities.

I can't even comprehend how people could rate this hotel any lower than 5 stars. My husband and I took sort-of a second honeymoon here. Every single room is oceanfront with a view. You can't beat that! Everyone on the staff was friendly and said hello every time we passed them, even if we had just seen them. The room service always happened while we were having a meal so it was always convenient and never interrupted our days. Pablo, Fatima, Gabriella and Sergio were all phenomenal servers. The front staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions (and we had a ton). Daniel was very helpful while we decided what activities we wanted to do (and we were wildly indecisive). All of the food and drink were amazing! Small menu, but we stayed 5 nights and always had something new to try. This is not your 5 restaurant and gift shop all-inclusive, so come prepared. Prepare beforehand if you plan on taking excursions outside of the hotel. Do your research. We loved our vacation with Senses and didn't have to worry about a single thing our entire stay! Thanks for everything!

Great place to get away with your significant other (hotel hosts adults only), rooms are excellent and the view to the ocean is gorgeous. Food is ok, not many choices but the taste is good. People here are really friendly and courteous. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the view.

Excellente location, right in the middle of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, just a few steps from the beach. Literally.
Beautiful rooms, cozy and very spacious.
Just for couples, all inclusive even a minibar in your room. Food and service are superb.
Love the Jacuzzis on the rooftop.

The room was amazing. Pool and beach front are very clean and well maintained. The food was very good as well. My only complaint would be the portions on food can be on the smaller side. Otherwise the all inclusive plan is amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking to have a nice relaxing vacation.

Brace yourselves for a very long and thorough review.

I was supposed to spend 7 nights at Senses Riviera Maya for my honey moon. When I arrived I was told that because of a human mistake they were overbooked and I would have to stay at their other location (in Playa Del Carmen) for just one night. Initially I was very upset because it was my honey moon and this is not supposed to happen on a special occasion like your honey moon, but after talking to manager Raymundo and Erika at the reception they made sure things were going to be taken care of and that me and my wife were going to be alright and enjoy our trip.

The next day a driver was sent to pick us up from their other hotel and drove us to Riviera Maya. After checking in, we went to our room and our jaws dropped. The entire place was neat and tidy; they had flowers all over the Jacuzzi, a plate with strawberries covered with chocolate & almonds and the phrase “Happy Honey Moon” written in chocolate. Besides that the bed had towels over them in the formats of swans with red flowers.

A few minutes after entering the room, someone knocked on our door and gave us a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate. It is an all inclusive resort but to have that delivered to us was nice and showed that they really cared about the overbooking mistake.

The next six nights were flawless. Amazing and beyond helpful staff like Cesar (the floor manager) did everything possible to make sure we enjoyed our stay. There were two days we had to leave super early and couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel so we told Cesar the day before and he arranged a small breakfast on-the-go that was waiting for us at the reception on the next day, it was amazing. Restaurant staff like Gaby, Carlos and Ivette was also great and very friendly.

CONS

- This is a justifiable CON. The orders in the restaurant can take a while. Everything is fresh and made to order so I guess that’s why it takes quite some time. Everything is super gourmet; even the small things like extra portions you ask for are very well prepared so a little wait is always expected.

- The cabana system. There are 4 cabanas on the ground floor and 4 on the terrace. Upon arriving the resort staff tells you that if a cabana is left unattended for over an hour you are more than welcome to go there and take it but in reality that’s not what happens at all. Rude guests were leaving bags OVERNIGHT to reserve the cabanas and were barely spending time on them during the day. More often than not I saw guests that were on the sun all day and could have used a cabana but didn’t because someone reserved it with bags and barely used it. I know the staff tells every guest it’s okay to go and take a cabana if it hasn’t been used for a while but no one wants to create trouble with other people, especially on vacation. With that being said, I think it falls on the resort to find a way to manage the cabana system better, strictly forbidding people to leave stuff overnight to reserve it, or leaving unattended by long periods of time, etc.

- Not really the resort’s fault but some guests were very rude. There was a group of 8 on our trip that literally thought the resort was theirs and did everything they wanted (like reserving cabanas and Jacuzzis). I guess the staff could have done something about it just to make sure the rules were followed.

Despite the minor issues I would go back without a doubt and stay at Senses Riviera Maya again. It is the perfect getaway if you want to spend a few days in a calm spot. Unlike Playa Del Carmen which is very busy and touristic, Playa Paraiso is very quiet and you literally have the beach to yourself for most of the time.

Great to escape the mega resorts and crowds.
If you value some privacy and a pool next to the beach with amazing views this is it. Great service by Alejandro and Ray the manager who made sure to ask about our stay when we departed. The large room and functional layouts are quite luxurious. The WiFi chugs away like a champ so if connectivity is a requirement this works great everywhere on the property. There's something for everyone on the menu but I'd advise you make plans to hit the Playa Del Carmen strip and Walmart for fresh pastries off the press to supplement. This is not a property with 6 different restaurants so keep your culinary expectations in check. However, despite being a picky eater I still was able to enjoy some of the offerings from the chef.

Also we were in Senses to relax so don't expect to find crazy activities and fitness tools on site.
Yoga on the roof is great, spa service is world class and recommend. If you want to be active there's the beach accessible in front of the property to run. You can then gain access to whatever kind of wild adrenalin charged experience you want.

Amazing. One of the best experiences I've ever had. The hotel is amazing, roomy, and you can't get a better view. Its a little hard to find but worth it. The service was great too. If you're looking to stay in your room the whole time you're on your vacation, then this is a place you should go! The rooms are very spacious, the shower is the best part (it really is awesome), and over all it's a very nice room to stay in!
However, there are more downsides to this place than good.
1. The beach it is located on has more tide pools/rocks and dirty kelp water than sand, you've got to walk a little bit to get to the good beach which is part of another resort.
2. The service is awful. Slow service in the restaurant, and when ordering room service, it's such a hassle we stopped after three times. They forgot things and messed things up on 2/3 orders and the food quality isn't very good. Not to mention it takes going through 3-6 people on the phone just to get stuff ordered. Also, beware- it says free room service but it is Not free. You have to pay for the food. Also, whenever they come to drop food off or clean the room or whatever, they knock on the door twice and if you don't answer, they just come in! One time my husband was naked. So, whenever they knock you better drop what you're doing and race to the door to answer it!
3. The only air conditioned place you can be here is in your room. The restaurant is outside which makes for a hot humid mealtime, the lobby is outside so you're sweating while checking in and getting things signed after being on a plane and then a taxi.. Speaking of taxis, it's very expensive being here because it's $25 each way to go into town in a taxi and if you do tours or excursions, they won't pick you up here. Plus, this hotel is So small that there's nothing to but be at the beach or in your room.. So we took a taxi out 5/7 days we were here in order to do things.
4. Don't do all inclusive, it's so not worth it. There's one restaurant with the same menu every day, you'll be eating there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day for your stay. Plus the bar is tiny. It's an extra $500 to do all inclusive for one week. my husband and I did just breakfast included here and went to Walmart to shop for groceries for the week and paid $60. I would highly recommend doing that if you have a room with a kitchen in it..

Overall, it's a small place in an alright location, a very nice room! But very poor service. If you want something all inclusive, go to Now Jade that's right down the way. We've stayed there and it was FANTASTIC. Only a little extra $$ and there are 8 different restaurants, a huge pool, great beach, many bars, shops on site, shows, totally free room service and great service!! Plus tours and excursions pick you up right there. We didn't use a taxi the whole week! Oh and all the room service, meals, and drinks you want are really all included.. 100% Free!!

Everything is above and beyond what I have expected. I expected a warm welcome but what we got was a chilled fruit drink and chilled towels. For room service I expected good food delivered to my door, we got was food delivered served and presented to us as if we were in the restaurant on our dinning table. The food is excellent, the pool is warm yet refreshing, the view is spectacular and everyone is relaxed. If you want fast pace this is not for you, if you want relaxed yet thorough service this is the perfect place.

This review is longer than I'd normally write, but please read on before booking this hotel lest you have the same experience we did...

We had booked the best room available to celebrate the end of our holiday - for the price, it seemed too good to be true...

The hotel is at the end of a long, dusty, potholed road, and there is a lot of construction nearby. We arrived an hour after check in began, but were told our room would be ready in 15 minutes... 45 minutes later our "personal butler" showed us to the room. Upon entering we were struck by two things - it was a lovely room, and there was an awful lot of construction noise. Our butler was clearly trying to pretend there was nothing wrong, which made the situation even more ridiculous, as it sounded like someone was trying to come through the ceiling with a sledgehammer. When we asked about the noise, he told us that yes, there was some work going on but it would only be from 10am to 7pm every day. ONLY?! He said this would not be a problem, as most people spend the day outside, despite having just waxed lyrical about how we could sit on our (lovely) balcony and watch the sea. I must emphasise this was not distant noise, but a banging that reverberated through everything, not something that could be drowned out by music etc.

To cut a very long story short, after eventually being put in touch with a fairly elusive manager, we received about 10% off our final bill. This wasn't nearly enough to offset the fact our room was effectively unusable for 9 hours every day.

The situation was made worse by the fact that we never received a proper apology, and were treated as if it was our problem, not the hotel's.

A few other things to note include:

- Corridors had screws/nails lying around, not ideal for a beach hotel.
- The floor of our room was so wet when we arrived that we had to spend 15 minutes mopping it up. The room was very damp for the rest of the stay.
- Our room had a kitchenette, but not one glass, piece of crockery or cutlery.

Overall, this *might* eventually be a lovely hotel, but our experience was such that we will never stay in an Artisan hotel on return trips to Mexico. If you are still tempted, please ask the hotel to guarantee all construction is finished before booking.
