Taiwan lies off the southeastern coast of mainland Asia, across the Taiwan Straits from Mainland China – an island on the western edge of the Pacific Ocean. To the north lies Japan and Okinawa, to the south is the Philippines. Many airlines fly to Taiwan, helping make it an ideal travel destination. Located at the northern tip of the island of Taiwan, Taipei is the capital city of this economic powerhouse. The city is a commercial center with many attractions including a vibrant nightlife. All of Taipei is at your doorstep at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel. The major east-west MRT line runs just in front of our hotel. A short walk brings you to all major government offices and some of the city's major tourist attractions. Major department stores, banks, and commercial centers are also within walking distance. The tallest building in the world, Taipei 101, is a 10-minute ride from the hotel by MRT. The 508-meter structure has 101 floors and is situated at the center Taipeis Xin-Yi area, next to the World Trade Center. The observation deck offers a breathtaking view of the city.Even closer to the hotel, only five minutes by MRT, is the Ximending Commercial District, which is one of the oldest districts in the city and cultural center with fashionable boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops. Located in the northern suburban area of Taipei is the National Palace Museum, which collects, preserves, and promotes the essence of Chinese arts and crafts. Accumulated over 1,000 years by Chinese emperors and royal families, its collections include ceramics, porcelain, calligraphy, paintings, and ritual bronzes. In addition, the museum also possesses many fine examples of jade and lacquer wares.

Nice and clean hotel, as expected from Sheraton, however the age of the interiors is showing up. Centrally located, close to all major landmarks of Taipei and main railway station is at walking distance. Good sized rooms compared to other hotels in Taipei.
Unexpectedly language was a bit problem with the staff, as except for two people none spoke english. Overall a good experience and comfy stay in Taipei, thanks to sheraton.

This is a very nice hotel and is very sincere and generous to elite members. All staff are very kindly and polite.
If it could reduct the Explore Friends Rate, there will be much more and more Marriott Explore Friends to be glad to book and stay at this hotel.

7

Nothing much to complain about. A pretty good hotel (with great location at the heart of Taipei) at par with other Sheraton hotels. Just a looks a little old from outside and inside both compared to the rest but that's just me nit picking. Would give it a 4.5 if it was allowed.

8

Great hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed and seems to have gone through a light renovation. Comfortable beds and good facilities in the room. The Sheraton lounge is good but does get super crowded especially during the evening hours. Close to public transportation with Taipei main station about 5-10 mins walk away ( depends which exit you need to be). Around the hotel there's also some local shops and eateries.

I had a great stay at the Sheraton Grand. It was located near a subway station and within walking distance of many restaurants and the beautiful 228 Peace Park. The breakfast had many tasty options as well.

9

It's a well maintained large Sheraton hotel. It features two 'towers'. One seemed reserved for loyal customers and features a surprisingly large club lounge on top. The other tower includes gym and pool which I didn't visit this time. At check-in I was upgraded to a suite, so the pictures might not be representative for a regular room. Very friendly staff, as usual in Taiwan. Absolutely recommendable, although a bit pricey for Taipei standards.

It matches it's 5 star hotel level with many tourists (mainly from Japan when I stayed). Breakfast quality and variety are great and they do have a Michelin 2 star restaurant. The staffs there are very helpful and friendly. Only a few very minorbissues during my 2-week stay.

An older luxe hotel but well maintained. Free upgrade to a wonderful junior suite and the room was nice. Service was very good, many restaurants to choose from on site. One is a Michelin 2-star, didn’t have chance to try. Next time!

Nice room, quality 4/5 star level Western hotel. Nothing wrong, but nothing too exciting either. Location is pretty convenient for train station, main sites in downtown Taipei.

Great hotel with good service and nice rooms. Breakfast is good, but there dinner buffet is mediocre at best. Location is great, walking distance to shopping and metro. Taxi drivers knows the place, so it's easy to get here. Have been here three times now and don't mind coming back.

Elegant and comfortable. Could be better located if it was near the river for the price.

Great location and staff. Rooms were spacious with updated bathrooms. A/C in the main area could be improved however considering it was only spring yet the inside still felt a bit muggy and warm.

Got upgraded to a suite. 😀

King size bed was super comfortable. And king size pillows were provided. (Which is not always the case at some major hotels.)

I did not have time to check out the amenities but the service was top notch.

Hotel is near the MRT and in a great location. Would definitely stay here again.

5

Least favorite option in Taipei. Air is stuffy and far more humid than at the Westin or Meridien. Rooms feel cramped with low ceilings. Club lounge staff is too eager and sometimes clueless about basics, such checking you out when you show up with your suitcase and ask to be checked out.

9

A great hotel with excellent hospitality that are guest centric in approach. From the executive lounge, front desk to the house keeping, etc. every department are friendly and adaptable with excellent and sincere engagement with guest to provide TOP level experiences.

The gym or fitness centre has a friendly and hygienic environment in which the attendant actually came to me and replace my towel while I was on the treadmill running(Long duration). And every hotel guest are wearing their own pair of shoes and yet the gym’s floor and equipments are kept clean.

Overall, a 6 stars in human soft-skill in running this hotel by the people working in this Sheraton Taipei.

I can’t said the same for the Sheraton in Osaka, Japan. In comparison on guest-centric approach for hotel guest, it fail miserably. It catered to the interest of the Japanese gym users, rather than the international hotel guests.

Generally satisfied with the stay but have some improvements that can be made. The gym room closes too early, would be better if can close much later to better accommodate the schedule of travelers. Also the connectivity of multimedia media devices to the TV is very limited, can take reference to Hotel One in Taichung. This is especially important as most shops close early in Taipei and this is useful for travelers.

Had afternoon tea buffet here on the first floor, the meal was good and had a large variety. There are large lines at opening time, but they don't down pretty quickly. Also the items do rotate once in a while so it is good to check areas again for new things. They serve a variety of sashimi, seafood, roasted meats, Chinese dishes, dim sum, pastas, Chinese noodles, and dessert. Almost all their items were good, the only thing that was really bad was their made to order pastas.

I really like their Cantonese food. The only problem is that the dishes come super fast. One after another. You might felt a bit overwhelmed, and the dishes may become cold as well. To mitigate the problem, you can ask them to slow down their pace or have them keep the cap on for those that have.

Business trip. Stayed for 2 nights. Very near Taipei Main Station for easy access to airport rail. Relatively busy hotel with a very popular buffet restaurant. Good food at the lounge. Got upgraded with SPG benefits. Large comfortable room.

Nice hotel. Good accommodations. GREAT food (best American food around). But the food is a little pricey (~$30 for breakfast). The hotel is known for its fine cuisine. Hotel also houses a couple top-tier restaurants.

Nice 5 star hotel in the heart of Taipei. 5 mins walk to Main Taipei Grand Train Station. Very friendly front desk staff and speak very good English. If you are going some place and have a hard time telling the taxi drive the place and location, get the help of the front desk staff, they will gladly write down the place and location in Mandarin and you can pass to the taxi driver. Always works for me.

Well, it's a very busy hotel. Nothing unique, just busy. And because it's so busy, half of the staff are not very friendly.

Order some food at the cafe on the first floor. Non of them were really tasty or memorable. On top of it, they charged you a lot for a simple fried rice.

6

The staff here is wonderful, they have good food in their restaurants, and yet I cannot give it a 4 because the rooms always smell moldy. Of course, that is fairly common in the Asian climate. Otherwise, the rooms are ok. The location is nice as it is within walking distance of Democracy Square, the underground rail, and a few museums.

Upscale place right in downtown. Subway stations few steps away, connecting you to anywhere you want to go. Several great eating options inside hotel facilities, different cuisines. Huge breakfast buffet with top notch food options for any taste. Gym well equipped, not big though.

Golden location. There is a metro station at the gate which can pretty much take you to all tourist attractions around the city. Staff is attentive and always smiling. The room is a bit out-dated and could use a major renovation.

Awesome Sheraton Hotel right near the Main Rail Station in Taipei. The rooms are on the smaller size which gives it more of a boutique hotel feel, like in many big cities, but they still pack in all the amenities. Service was great as was the location, plus there are some great (although expensive) restaurants in the hotel.

One of the best SPG hotels. I wanted to rate 5 more stars for the friendly staff. Especially, the front desk and the gate keepers. I want to express a special thanks to Ms. Tina of front desk. She helped me to resolve an issue which needed coordinating in local language.

The hotel has about 4 restaurants and a lobby bar. Quite convenient and cosy. The service and food in the restaurants are good.

This is located close to key landmarks and very close to two MRT stations and the Ubike spot. So easy to navigate.

The travel desk is quite helpful in arranging taxis that accepts credit card as well. Plus they make sure that the taxi ride is safe.

I was meeting a family I do business with as their guest at Kitchen12 buffet. While there was a long queue to enter we were seated very quickly when it opened at 6pm as we had a reservation. The food was very high quality and the staff were attentive by removing dirty dishes as we tried different courses through the evening. A great selection of Asian and western dishes including desserts and icecream. Very enjoyable and very popular. I would recommend.

Good for any US citizens. Nice rooms with good shower. US style toilet.
Nice lobby with attentive staff.

Food at this place is pricy.
The pizza downstairs is 30.00 US for a 12 inch margretta.
The buffet for breakfast is 25.00 US

Eat around the corner to the left of the side door. Place call "93", by the 7 eleven store.
It's noodles dishes and rice dishes and stuff. You will get full on 6 dollars.

You will not see your US style chinese food items here, It gets real over here.

They treat you like royalty if you have your are a Starwood member. They designate the top 3 floors for members and gave us a free upgrade. Rooms are super spacious and clean. The bathroom had marble floors, separate tub/shower, and a heated toilet! Located near the subway lines, shopping districts, and night markets. They also have plenty restaurant options in the hotel.
