We visited from the river, mooring our narrowboat overnight. Expensive overnight mooring, at £15 just to tie up.  Electricity was extra,  by the pound - - but the outlet failed so we couldn't get it to work, even with the help of the young lady from the reception office. No other boat service was available.

We ate in the restaurant where service was friendly, but slow. We had to ask for vinegar and oil as there was no dressing for the very pretty green salad. Good Gnocci and slightly greasy, but tasty cottage pie.

Mowers were out making noise at 6:30 AM!

We visited the hotel on our boat where the really friendly receptionist arranged a mooring. We had fantastic meals in the evening and can't thank the staff enough for looking after us. We didnt stay at the hotel so cant comment on the accommodation. We will return though for another meal and perhaps a few more drinks..

An affordable, low key hotel in a beautiful location. We had realistic expectations and were not disappointed. If you must have "perfect and new" with lots of staff, then this is not for you.

Welcome to the 1940's at this tired riverside location a few miles (35mins) ealk to the nearest toen, Wallingford. Ok if you have a car maybe.. the hotel is dated. Fixtures and fittings are old and tired. Damp mould in cracks on walls and expext bathroom fixings, tea facilities and TV to be wanting a refresh. Stairs to some rooms tretcherous, very narrow and steep. You cant get a foot on them which is tricky with luggage and there is no lift. No double glazing, modern bathroom, technology here.. but the staff are very friendly.

Brilliant time in wonderful setting with great staff, really good food and bar manager that was a pleasure to meet. The place is being totally overhauled which will make it even better. This work did not detract from the 2 day stay. The room was very large. Cant wait to go back.

Lovely setting with a waterside view - our hotel room was lovely and spacious. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. We ate at the restaurant during our stay and it was delicious! Looking forward to breakfast this morning. Would definitely come back again - hopefully on our next visit there might be better weather so we can enjoy a walk when it's not raining!

Had a good time at the New Year's Eve party. Food especially good. Stayed extra nights 30th to 2nd. Not many people on these nights. Breakfast on last morning and evening meal on first night not great. Stayed in a lovely comfortable, quiet suite of rooms on a small hill with great views of the river Thames and Shillingford bridge.

Stopped for a drink mid walk with the kids. Place was quiet as mid week but toilets were not very clean and servicer at the bar wasn't as quick as I would have liked

Needs updating, staff need more commitment, more time on phones than watching waiting customers, sauce bottles on restaurant tables, very impressed with assistant manager who seemed to run it alone! Hence 3 Star's! Plus pool shut?

Room hadn't been cleaned when I arrived in the evening, a free drink and a short delay soon had it sorted. Staff were friendly and apologetic. Unfortunately it was a very warm night and the windows in the room could not be opened very much or at the top to let the heat out, no fans were available either. I think the room I was in was almost unique and other rooms wouldn't have this issue.
Only had breakfast in the hotel and that was fine.
Location overlooking the Thames was very pleasant.

Was here for a murder mystery function, with a 3 course meal which was very nice and came quickly. T Very nice location- the lake was especially beautiful in the evening. The bar service was sometimes slow and the bar closed before 11pm even though they had confirmed on the phone with us that it would stay open until 11, so we were sadly unable to get drinks at the end of the night when waiting for our taxi.

Everything I needed from two nights stay - clean spacious room, easy booking, plenty of parking space, delicious breakfast in the morning...Staff all seemed really happy and helpful. The floors were a bit creaky and the bath/shower and ceiling lights took a while to work out but otherwise very happy.

Quite run down with a limited range of food and drink. Position is excellent. On the plus side it has new owners who seem to have great ideas.

Lovely location easy to find but slightly out of the way. The hotel has a beautiful garden by the river. The room was nice, decorated in a quaint fashion. We were there for a wedding and the food was very nice.

Great location and staff. Great wedding venue. We are excited to hear that the hotel has plans to renovate etc. We have enjoyed it while we could afford it and hope we still will in the future.

Helpful and well equipped conference facilities and the food is decent. But wow, this is on the most dated hotels I've ever visited. The bathrooms are from another century, windows are dilapidated and the room was not only poorly appointed but dirty. Staff are helpful enough although this place really needs a total renovation.

Shillingford Bridge Hotel used to be a top hotel in my childhood so was excited about staying there. Our initial room was very poor as it had mildew on the walls and even the nets on the window. I complained about this the following day. The staff were friendly and quick to respond and moved us to one of the bungalow rooms. What a difference, a lovely four poster bed and huge seating area. The views of the River Thames was beautiful and made up for the first night. The cooked breakfast was very nice. The hotel overall needs a major refurbishment to bring it back up to it's past glory. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant overlooks the picturesque Thames but is a tad too expensive for the quality of food offered though. Good overall experience.
