My family went to the hotel for afternoon tea.We did not stay overnight, so I can't speak to that, but the hotel was beautiful and the staff we spoke to were friendly. Martina was our server for tea and she was great! We had a large party, so we were served in the lovely Glass room. They were very accommodating with some picky eaters in our group. We would definitely go back if we end up in Killarney again!

Lovely building and check-in reception staff were excellent. Room well appointed, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was hit and miss. Good range of pastries and continental options, but cooked breakfast was average and eggs had been cooked and left standing. Gym well equipped and steam/sauna/hit tub are ok.

Fantastic old time hotel. They don't make like this anymore - they can't afford too. It's like stepping back into 1900 as aristocracy. Elegant and spacious with perfect customer service. What's not to like? Well, no A/C, but we were there during an historic heat wave....

amazing hotel, lots of history and very beautiful. Rooms were clean and good sized. The door man ran out with a cart just as we parked and got all our luggage quick. He showed us to our room and chatted with us a while about all the sites to see around there. Gave great advice too! Overall a super nice experience, good food and good drinks. Went to the bar the last night there and had a good talk with the bartender too.

I am delighted the original Name is reinstated and the beauty of the building and grounds retained and well maintained.
Must, however, improve on breakfast... eggs in particular. Tried a variety of the options over the few days but sadly no joy - Freshly cooked is always best! Also, not the best coffee in town . I can offer 3 1/2 stars ... - good luck.

We didn’t stay here but our family did and they were extremely accommodating to my disabled uncle with a great room for him. We visited them and ate at the bar, the food was lovely and the Guinness was excellent. They also have a very good children’s menu and were so kind to our 3yr old.

On our arrival the staff at reception were very friendly, they even took time to speak to my daughter. Sean at the conceiers desk was extremely helpful and full of ideas for things to do especially with a 10 yr old. As we walked into our room our eyes widened with amazement at how beautiful and elegant it was. We even had a balcony overlooking the gardens. Food was beautiful and the staff in the dinning room were great to have serving us. . I would definitely recommend to anyone this swanky hotel. We will be back.

Five stars all the way. Lovely to see this magnificent hotel back to her former name. Celebrations all around. The wonderful welcome from Mary Mac. The team. From reception to bar & restaurant & front of house team. New managers new faces. But always wonderful to see faces from past over the years. Very helpful. Beautiful appointed bedroom. Tea coffee maker biscuits water. From Afternoon Tea in the Reading Room 12.30 to 5.30. To fine dining or casual in the evening. Open fires. Selection of whiskies just incredible. Chandeliers. Big potted display plants. Fresh orchids. Room service. Lifts available to rooms. Free standing bath. A true beauty if a hotel. Indeed a true 5 star. Parking available. Train station 3 minutes walk. Everywhere accessible walking. You won't be disappointed. Well done The Great Southern Susan (Roe)Morton.👏👏👏👏

The Malton Hotel Killarney there is no where else I would stay in. It's old time elegance is not to be found elsewhere. The staff are gracious and helpful. A night in the Malton is akin to a mini holiday. I have attended a wedding there also and the reception was beautiful. The spa is highly relaxing. I look forward to my next visit.

Everything is fine except there is no AC. Woke up at 1 am in a pool of sweat. They are thoughtful enough to include a fan to use but it doesn't plug into the outlet next to the window to draw in cool air from outside. Couple all that with the blankets being so thick and its been a pretty miserable night. Perhaps the Irish are warm sleepers, few other reviewers have this issue so maybe its just my odd preference for a cool room to sleep in.

This is the place to stay if you are visiting Killarney. The hotel is spacious with very good service. It has that "old European hotel" feel to it that is very nice. It is also close to downtown. They also serve is beautiful breakfast and other meals. I highly recommend staying at the Malton

I am a Tour Operator and have been bringing groups to the Malton for years. I cannot emphasize the wonderful experiences my travelers have had. As a matter of fact I just returned from a most enjoyable week.
Mary Mack who heads up the concierge staff and who seems to be everywhere is one of a kind.
If you want a great location in Killarney, beautiful rooms, great food and most of all attention to all your needs, this is a perfect hotel in Killarney.
I have always said it is a 4 Star with 5 Star amenities.

A nice 4 star hotel. Friendly staff who gave us a free upgrade to a suite as we were celebrating our minimoon. Beautiful building with some lovely architecture. The food is very nice and well presented. My only fault is some of the furniture is a bit worse for wear and could do with some up keep but definitely well deserving of 4 stars.

Hotel is beautiful and the staff are all fantastic. That being said, the rooms are not suitable considering the price. The beds feel old and rigid and there is no climate control for those of us that like it a bit cooler at night. The bathrooms are huge but the bathtub is tiny and uncomfortable. If the amenities in the rooms were upgraded to meet current day hotel standards I'd be happy to rate it higher. My recommendation, come here to visit and dine but not stay.

This spacious hotel is just next to the bus and train station. A short walk to killarney town. Big car park to the side. Decorated to a very high standard and a fireplace at the entrance which makes a lovely welcome from the cold. Food is lovely too with a wide variey to choose from.

We held our destination wedding at The Malton. I cannot say enough about the staff, the locstion, or the food at this hotel! Absolutely the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. Comfortable, beautiful and treated so well. In addition, the challenge of organizing a wedding from the US could have been so difficult but working with the staff here made everything perfect. I cannot wait to come back to the Malton!

Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and hospitable. The salmon open-faced sandwiches were delicious but the tea sandwiches were a little bland. I would definitely stay here in the future if I return to Killarney.

Perfect blend of Modern & Classic
The foyer at The Malton is a great metaphor for the hotel. It's styled and furnished to the very highest standards with modern classic set in the historic old building. In the old part the rooms have high ceilings, rich old wood and plenty of old polished brass. Then the rooms in the new wing are modern with the feel of you'd expect from an upmarket contemporary hotel. It's nice to walk to the spa through a glass corridor, especially if the weather's wet or windy. Breakfast service was impressively rapid and friendly on busy days.

I went into the malton before I went for my jog for a cup of tea. The staff inside were lovely however I wanted to have a walk around the gardens out the back after and when I went to so a man working there (seemed to be one of the managers) asked was I a guest here to which I responded no I am just finished a cup of tea inside and want to go for a walk around. He told me that if I want to go for a walk I can walk out of here. This was very rude and I believe ot was because of my tracksuit pants. I was a paying customer and thought I would be treated with a bit more respect
