We stayed her back in January. In an apartment was clean and comfortable. We had a couple of chicken burgers delivered to our room before we went out to an event. They were as good as youd buy at any burger joint. Simply but tasty and well priced.

Great Hobart hospitality with a variety of room styles to suit any budget. Including full kitchen, laundry apartment style but still includes services of a 5 star hotel such as room service, valet, cable tv movies free and mini bar. Got the old world charm with modern amenities and amazing location just one block from the harbour. Favourite thing: Loved experiencing the genuine Tasmanian local hospitality. Would Not stay anywhere else.1

A nice stay in a hotel with an interesting history. The old woolshed is easy to get to and the hotel rooms are quite large. We had a queen and king bed in the one room. Bathroom had a shower and bath so that was handy with kids.

A very quiet central apartment beautifully appointed. Very clean and comfortable. Loved the whole site with a great restaurant. Would highly recommended this accommodation when staying in Hobart.

The whole site , as the name suggests was built using the original Old Wool Store. The level of quality of the fitout is very commendable considering the logistics of it being a retro fit into the existing structure.
There are lots of original features that have been retained giving a great feeling of the original character.
The location is very central to Hobart's city centre and waterfront docks.
There are many first class restaurants and eateries close by.
The parking arrangements are very limited and as such it would be most suited to guests without vehicles.
The premises has wireless access points providing connectivity to all areas within the complex.
It is a very short walk to many points of interest including the museum and art gallery, cinemas, ferry service to MONA and much much more.
This is a great place to start your Tasmanian holiday from or use for your corporate needs.

Had a short stay here during a recent business trip and would be happy to recommend this hotel. The ambiance was nice, the rooms were clean and modern and the service was great. Food was very tasty with good sized servings (I had Spaghetti Marinara for dinner which was delicious) and the breakfast was excellent with great variety (even offered fried rice which was a pleasant surprise). Only small issue during my stay was the room doors are built side by side so you notice your neighbor entering and exiting their room more than usual but would still definitely come back again.

Spent a day here at a business meeting. Half day in the 'theatre-ette': adequate AV equipment, but the back row of seats butt right up against the back wall, so no creeping round the back if you need the toilet during the lecture or presentation. Food very ordinary. Filter coffee poor. Staff bright and helpful, though. Better catering would make a big difference.
I've noted other reviews praising the food. I wonder if they use outside catering for business events like mine.

Great classy place. Service is awesome! 24/7 check in and food. So can't go wrong. Located right in the middle of Hobart. Really convenient for anything. Have easy walk in access to most of the things around the city.

I loved my stay in there. Would definitely consider staying there when I go back.

Pros: good location, super efficient check-in staff, clean, the usual stuff, oh and decent local whisky collection in their bar
Cons:
- impossible to maintain a water temperature in the shower, which actually makes the great water pressure into a con too as it quickly and unpredictably varies from Antarctic chill to scaldingly hot
- super thin walls, when you neighbours wake up so will you!
- they didn't set my door keys up properly
- as others have commented, rooms feel old
- oddly placed powerpoints, never quite where you expect

Very nice hotel, clean, with great service in a great location in Hobart. So close to the waterfront and a number of restaurants, cafes and tourist sights. It was extremely well priced and we enjoyed our stay here.

We loved it here for a number of reasons. Firstly the location and secondly the service, lastly the room.
The location is central to every thing and only a 30 second walk to the waterfront. It's only a few minutes to Salamanca markets too. It's also easy to get out of the city for Mt Wellington and the Cascade brewery.
The service from front of house was perfect and super helpful too.
The room we stayed in was a one bedroom apartment. It was very clean and very roomy. I'm a real stickler for bathrooms being clean and I was comfortable- no mould and well maintained. Thumbs up from us :)

I stayed here during a professional visit to Hobart.

Firstly the room and facilities are completely spotless. My room was well appointed, with separate shower and bath in the ensuite. The bed was comfortable with clean crisp sheets and a selection of different pillows.

The bar and restaurant are more on the expensive side, but a nice perk after a long day's travel and work.

Staff are friendly enough although very dry in aproach. This meaning that their interaction is superfical and robotic.
At every opportunity the Woolstore charged. Even for a single use packet of washing powder i was charged. They supplied 1 packet of powder only over 3 nights in a self contained apartment. A little ridiculous when paying over $200 a night ! Plus $10 per night for parking that was is not undercover.
Rooms are awesome and hotel is perfectly located within city limits of hobart. Would be nice to see the little things improve.

Yes, it was over just after New year. Just found it all a bit hard for the reception staff. We tried to extend our booking and twice were referred on to the next shift. There were rooms available but in the end we just moved on. Otherewise rooms are a good size. No aircon or ventilation to the bedroom. Full breakfast $23 and quite good.

The Old Woolstore exceeded my expectations. The room and amenities were immaculate, and the service was fantastic. The staff are also very accommodating to families with young children. Quick access to a great bar and restaurant downstairs, with a great buffet breakfast in the morning, as well as walking distance to most of the CBD. I won't be staying anywhere else on my next visit.

Location was great, really easy to get to the center of Hobart as well as the Derwent River. The staff at the old woolshed were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The decor of the rooms were a little dated but that is the only flaw. Good value for money.

Staff were friendly but gossiping at the counter between each other. Took a manager to point out people were waiting. Sandwiches provided for meeting lunch, we're a little soggy and seemed like they'd been made the day before. A bit like a kids school Lunch. Air con in the meeting room rumbled very loudly every time it was running. Otherwise a pleasant meeting day.

Recommended to stay here by a friend and found the Woolstore to be in fantastic location close to the wharf and Salamanca Markets an easy 10 minute walk away. We stayed in the motel side which had a huge room with 2 king size beds which was very clean and modern with recent refurbishments. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room very quiet (silent really) despite being next to the car park and entrance. We would definitely stay here again.

$319 in march. Fit out a bit dated. Were put in the disable accessible room, without front of house letting us know on check-in. Parking was an issue. Several functions on and meant parks not available for guests. Additional parking provided away from hotel. All that said. I slept like a baby.

Great location! Walking distance to most major points of intrest. We had a minor misunderstanding with one of the staff members but management apologized and nipped it in the bud right away.
Thank you so much for that!
The only issue we really had was our bed was way too soft. We couldn't have slept on it more than the two nights we stayed. We do understand that everyone has different preferences and I'm sure the rooms differ as well. All in all we would definitely stay again :)

Lovely, clean apartments, friendly reception and quick to attend to your needs. My only complaint is that it takes a long time to get to your room from reception... I felt like I needed a golf cart to get me there. Not good when you have a disability... but then again, they may have accommodated by getting me a closer room had I mentioned that. The lecture room was comfortable and the only complaint there is that there is a small step that you have to watch out for. Maybe they could convert that step to a ramp for OH&S. Other than that, a delightful stay. Breakfast was delicious and the beds were comfortable.

Just stayed at the Oldwool store apartments at Hobart and I loved it!!!!! I have stayed at many hotels and apartments in my time, but they have been the most friendliest and kind. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where one feels at ease. Definitely will be staying here again next time I am in Hobart. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay pleasent. The only very very minor thing i would add is that maybe during peak periods there should be 3 staff at the front desk not 2, but apart from that i can't fault them for anything. Highly recommend.
