It was a very adorable little place. The guy at the desk was very helpful and nice. The breakfast in the morning was a lot better than I thought it would be.

I performed a wedding at.the Sterling
It is a wonderful venue. The hotel is a historic home built by one of Sacramentos earliest department store families.

Stayed the night and attending a wedding. Comfortable bed and cozy room. The Wi-Fi was a little weak and the hot water took forever to heat up but overall a good experience. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Another guest forgot his belt before the wedding and the front desk guy gave him his. Great staff

Stayed here one night for work, it was a gorgeous Victorian mansion converted into a hotel and conference room. The room was beautiful with high ceilings, a huge spa tub, and a large comfortable beef. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a very nice holiday event at the Sterling Hotel. They were a little short on bathrooms but it worked out alright. We crammed about 200 people in the event room. We barely fit. The food tasted good but the portion was very small.

I've been to a few events here and they do a fabulous job - the hotel is elegant from top to bottom, without being gaudy in the least. The service from the staff is top-notch and they are very attentive.

Attended a wedding reception. It was absolutely lovely. Gorgeous room. For dinner we had a choice of roast beef or chicken cordon bleu and both were delicious. The staff was very courteous and attentive. The event was alcohol free so I can't comment on bar service. It's located in the heart of downtown Sacramento right next to a live theater complex so parking can be a challenge.

The hotel is really nice inside. Especially for events. My fiancée and I were there for a meeting with Wedgewood to plan our wedding and we are loving the experience so far. The main ballroom is beautiful and the entrance is gorgeous. It is also in a nice location downtown near alot of hotels. It's a wonderful location for events. Also, the service there is exceptional.

Update from my last review a weekend ago is I got a call last night from Jones the general manager apologising about the inconvenience last week and he would like to offer me 30% off the next visit.

It was kind of them to offer me a discount. When and if we get a chance to use that discount I will write another update on the stay.

I was there for a wedding reception for the evening but did not stay overnight. The hotel was charming and tucked away from the main road just enough for it not to seem too commercial, but still easy to find. The staff was friendly and professional, and the reception buffet was very good. Having access to the outside patio from the banquet room was a nice feature. The ambiance was warm and inviting. Overall I was happy with my experience and it was a wonderful evening.

The hotel was beautiful, but I'm a sucker for Victorian architecture. The bed was too soft for two people—we kept rolling together—and the bedding was too thin, making it too cold to sleep comfortably. Parking was non-existent, so we had to park at a public lot a block away. Breakfast was very light, with only hard-boiled eggs for real protein. If I were to visit again, I'd bring a blanket and eat elsewhere.

The fit and finish of those hotel needs work. The breakfast was very disappointing.

But. It is a very cozy hotel with historic charm. If they improved the breakfast I would consider staying there again.

Rooms are nice and clean, staff is nice and friendly. Four stars because the included breakfast is kinda meh. Cold cereal, some angles and coffee and a little fruit is all you can expect to get here. Sounded like some commotion was going on outside late a night with some cops being involved so the neighborhood is a little rough at night.

Easy fast check-in with welcoming staff, beautiful Springsteen room and amazing views. But would it kill them to have American open at 1 pm so I could get a glass of wine while waiting for other guests? They don't open until 4 pm! It was mid May with beautiful weather when I stayed --- and you can't get a drink at the hotel you are staying at. They referred me outside of the hotel to Perry's? Yuk! I'm not a Perry's gal.

The first step to Sacramento, the place very clean, central, and offer good comfort, specialy i liked the kitchen and the breakfast... it was the best breakfast i had in b&b hostel in the states, that usually offers just mufffin and coffee. The price is good, the only thig is the internet is low.. but i had a good landing into this hostel, the team are very nice too.
reccommend!!!

Attended a wedding reception/party there. It was uncomfortably hot in the reception and bar rooms without fans or air conditioning. However, the staff was polite and courteous, earning them 4 stars in my book instead of 3.

Sunday Aug 3, 2014 we had my aunts 90th birthday party there. The AC was off in the room that was booked so they moved us ( small party 16) into the ballroom. Our host Wendy was great, the food VERY good, the day was going well, we were taking pictures and having cake when into the room came 7 people, walked around the room talking about how they were going to set it up I assume for an event of theirs. Our host told them this was a private party but it did not matter to them. They said they were friends and relatives of the owners, they continued to walk around the room until we mentioned this was a private party and told them to leave. They did slowly still talking about the room. If the owners allow this then no one is safe for their event from anyone just walking in to do what they want. Except for that it was very enjoyable.

The staff and the room was absolutely beautiful. The staff were great people, friendly, polite helpful! We talked about everything! My room was great! A beautiful view. And the continental breakfast was truly a breakfast everyone could enjoy. Cereal, fresh fruit, breads, danishes.... juices, coffee, tea. I mean they made my stay outstanding. And when I decided to stay an extra day, they were wonderful. Definitely plan to go back.
