Although I had a wonderful stay at the Westin Europa & Regina in the past, this is a note that the hotel as been renamed St. Regis Venice after a major renovation in 2019.

With a great location, this hotel makes it convenient to enjoy the most out of Venice and its channels. Really disappointed with the service and staff, not even close from other 5 stars hotels I have experienced, and also below other Westin hotels (eg. Westin Grand Berlin). For similar price, I believe it is possible to find hotels in Venice which provides better service and overall experience while still being well located.

Absolutely one of my wife and I’s favorite restaurants in the world! Right on the water in Venice. Food is amazing. Very gluten free friendly. Accommodating to our kids. The service is nothing but perfect. Highly recommend as an SPG Platinum guest.

The hotel is a short 5 minute walk to St. Marco's Square and all of the must see sights of Venice. Its located directly on the Grand Canal so we were able to take a water taxi to the dock at the front door. The concierge was very helpful and had a water taxi waiting the day of depature. The breakfast was outstanding and the view overlooking the canal couldn't have been better.

For reference, I visited in June of 2018. Staff was excellent. The rooms were well furnished but tired and well worn. Which depending on your viewpoint can be charming or just old.

In the bathroom, I move the curtain to open the window and the curtain and rod all fell apart— literally. Furthermore, one of the light fixtures on the wall was broken. Notwithstanding these minor annoyances the location is fantastic!

Food - Breakfast is solid. Eating breakfast on the waterfront in the early morning is peaceful and is a real value to the hotel.

Dinner - The staff was great, but the food was...rough. It looked nice but tasted horrible. If you have a credit on your room, don’t waste your time, there are better places to spend your time and money.

Professional and friendly staff. Right on the Grand Canal overlooking Santa Maria Della Salute. Stunning decorated lobby with marbled floor. Rooms are spacious and we'll furnished in old Europe styles. All these come with a price to match of course.

Great place to spend my vacation. Spacious rooms, great staff, birthday prosecco and cake on the house for a birthday, some very good cocktails and wines. Due to refurbishment soon, after that it will be even better.

Perhaps this Westin is a corporate real estate investment rather than an effort to provide true luxury accommodations.

The location is wonderfully convenient to beautiful landmarks and luxury shopping. The hotel itself is a bit of a beat-up and scuffed dowager.

A quick look and you may think you’re in a 4+ Star hotel, but look closer and you’ll find an incredible lack of upkeep or luxury appointments. Scarred walls, chipped stone, threadbare carpets, cheaply painted furniture, expose a lack of attention to detail and proper maintenance. It’s likely the hotel hasn’t had a thorough refresh in decades. There are some beautiful details here and there, but they aren’t strong enough to hold together the overall cobbled feel of the rooms and common areas.

And, yes the breakfast in the hotel was extremely over-priced—always to be expected at any luxury hotel. Complaining about that is pointless. The view from the dining area is spectacular, almost enough to justify the cost!

The staff, in general, were friendly and accommodating. Most interactions were pleasant and competent.

Yes, the beds are wonderful! The pillows need a bit more thought. On arrival a bottle of water is at the bedside table. But after that, none. Why? The television never got a clear picture—no matter, not interested in watching TV but checked to see how the system worked.

As a fan and a guest of international luxury hotels, I really have to say, the Westin Venice misses the mark in too many ways.

Excellent location. Amazing staff. In my opinion, one of the best Westins I have been to. It's up there with the St. Regis properties...

If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...

It was always my dream to go to Venice for my honeymoon and my new husband not only brought me there but took me here. This was my favorite stay through our whole 10 day trip through Italy. We got a great room with an amazing view and two balconies. The bed was heaven (which I soon realized is hard to find in an Italian hotel) and I even enjoyed the bathroom and shower (despite the clogged shower drain). They even had the best breakfast I had in Italy. The bar and bartenders were wonderful (also the best cocktails I had in Italy) and I really enjoyed spending time outside on the patio area between the two dining areas. So relaxing and beautiful! I really want to come back to Venice to spend more time in the city and swing it through this hotel!

Best view in Venice! The check in reception escorted us to our beautiful room. I loved this hotel, the staff was helpful and friendly.

But when they opened the door to our room..... I was very impressed with the beauty of our room! Spacious, well decorated, comfortable, a tin of cookies waiting for us to try and a PATIO WITH A VIEW!! WoW! I highly recommend staying here, the location is central to the heartbeat of Venice.

And the gondola ride is a must!

Lavish, classy... Suites are spectacular, views of the Grand Canal from the patio are even more spectacular. Suites offer fully marble bathrooms (floor to ceiling), seating rooms with sofa, chairs and a worktable. King size bed in the BR, Bose speakers in the seating area, full sized toiletries in the bathroom, his and hers toilets (bidet on one). Luxuries too numerous mention. An experience over a simple "stay" to be sure.

Once of the most luxurious, stylish hotels with a spirit of Venice! Beautiful rooms, friendly staff and an amazing views. The cost for the rooms are definitely above the average, but if you are looking for a memorable stay- Hotel Westin is definitely worth the amount you pay!

The hotel is two star and the additional is for the restaurant. Good food, service, view and wine! But in Venice, there are so many good restaurant that you don't have to eat here.

The hotel is not that good for a five star hotel, the service is fair, the room was in small weird shape, I went to the reception and change to a new room. the changed room is ok, but will hear someone kept slam the door for two days in the morning. The preauthorisation was hold for 31 days on my credit card, which is very inconvenient. I would not recommend to live there with more than 400 euro per day.

The structure is magnificent, in the very heart of Venice. The location is amazing with view on the canal, both bar and restaurant have a terrace right in front of Santa Maria della Salute church. Only if you are looking for a room with view on the canal grande, book a Gran Canal View room, as in all Venice this rooms are limited and the most of the rooms are facing the inner courts.

Gorgeous old hotel right on the grand canal
Old world charm with lots of marble floors, large public areas, delightful rooms. Restaurant is right on the water. (Photo is view from restaurant table) We had a 7 am breakfast and had the whole place to ourselves.
Staff are friendly but not fawning

Booked 2... one bedroom deluxe suites and only received one room of that type. Other room was deluxe suite ! Nice but front desk insisted that both rooms are equivilent. One room had tapesrty on walls, had to have been 50 ft long with doors separating bedroom from lounge. Other was an average (las Vegas type) room. Hate to think they were biased towards Americans. Ohhhh, it was my birthday, given inferior room even though I was the one who booked the $590 per night rooms. British cousins got best room, couldn't ask them to switch, even though they offered

Booked this room and hotel based on recommendations from travel agent. Service was not accommodating and description of rooms less than accurate. We were promised a view and our view was behind a building with a small window of canal. Walked into room where window was left open during a rain storm and carpet was wet. Went down stairs for dinner and service was slow, not welcoming and dinner was served where the women received all courses and men only received appetizers until we asked where the rest of the food was that was ordered. In addition to that "regulars" were served before us and we had to flag down our servers to take our orders. I have stayed at many SPG properties and this does not live up to prices they are charging or the service I would expect from a hotel at this level.

Great location, far better than expectation for Westin. Got upgraded to room with Grand canal view as spg platinum member. Room was spacious eventhough we didn't get a suite. Amazing view!! Loved that it had wood floor, not carpet. Every staff extremely welcoming& friendly. Promptly delivered dog bed& bowls for our 2 small dogs. Didn't feel hotel was outdated, very fast response& service to every request, included breakfast was standard and good. The only thing was there was no one to help us with luggage as we got off water taxi at their loading dock. It was my favorite stay in all of Italy trip!

This is my usual hang out in Venice. Rarely is there anybody in the bar or lobby or restaurant. Cheap happy hour, but only a few things so date control is essential. In January my suite was the one in the photo with a balcony on the grand canal for about $200, sat for hours looking at the church across the canal withthe full moon, crazy good deal to go to the opera. Reminds me a lot of the venetian in Las Vegas, but no people. Service was great, very good room service. My venetian friends were appreciative of the food and ability to hang out there. They were not to keen on my taking a room towel to the St. Marks square for high water for a swim in the moonlight.
