Amazing location in our nation's capital, walking distance to all the must see sights. Friendly staff and nice room and mindful of cleanliness which is appreciated. Not historic like the Fairmont but so close that you can take in all the history.

Beautiful large windows for a great lookout to parliament and the busy streets down below. Building facilities were clean and not spacious. Hotel rooms were well made and welcoming. Had troubles with the kettle looking rusty at the bottom and the replacement wasn't any better. Restaurant has a good lookout to the canal and the Shaw Centre. Easily move between the hotel, the Shaw Centre and the Rideau Centre as they are all connected.

The hotel and rooms are fine. The lack of valet is understandable due to covid but no in/out parking privilege was a real bummer and unexpected cost spike. The wifi charges we had were also incorrect. Steakhouse was closed all weekend. Its just not the same.

Amazing staff, wonderful people, beautiful hotel. What more could you ask for? The food is amazing at daly's and the cooks are all very passionate people. This hotel offers more than an experience, it offers a whole family of dedicated and passionate staff to take care of you all the way through your stay.

We loved this hotel. We came with our Boston terrier Charlie for one night on labour day weekend and from arrival to departure we were made to feel special. Loved that they call you ten minutes after you arrive to make sure everything is okay They offered doggy bed and bowls but we had brought our own. The room was huge, clean and modern. Great location too. Steps to Parliament Hill. Only problem was the parking is a bit confusing to get into. And, guys, the toothpaste you provided us upon request was ridiculously small. Barely enough for one use! Other than that, we will be back!

Spent my 16th birthday at this wonderful hotel with some friends and family. The hotel room was beautiful! (as it always is). The staff was well mannered and well dressed! I’ve stayed at this place many times and will continue to stay at it with my family!

Stayed here for the Canada Day long weekend so the place was packed but check in was still fast and easy. The rooms were spotless and each day the cleaning service made sure it was that way every time we got back to the room. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The best thing is it's close to Parliament Hill and the Byward Market, about a five minute walk to each. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Ottawa.

Very nice hotel with an excellent service. But what's up with elevators. I had to wait more than 6 minutes to get one. At the rush hour, you are literally trapped at your floor of the hotel. And the stairs don't go all the way down to the lobby.

The lobby is incredible, and that's just entering the building. The rooms are beautiful, the view is gorgeous, and I am quite thankful to be able to experience such a delight. The Customer Service and level of hospitality is outstanding. As this is my first time in Ottawa, I'm extremely impressed. Easy 10/10.

Great spot for Canada day celebrations being 3 min walk to Parliament Hill and Major Hill park for fireworks. Room was spacious and clean. Appreciated the robe and soothing oils for a deep sleep. Service was efficient even with a crazy horde of people checking in Canada day. Don't expect a huge pool for lap swimming and you'll be pleased. Also nice touch with $10 bike rentals and new balance workout rentals

We stayed at the Westin prior to our daughters grad. I called ahead of time to ask that 12 wine glasses be delivered to the room because we were having a party for her. I was fortunate to speak to Desire and she offered an upgrade to a suite for a very good price. And we had an amazing room, with a stunning view of parliament. In the room was a beautiful tray with the wine glasses, napkins and plates decorated with flowers. And a gorgeous tray with sweets and “ congratulations” written in chocolate. It was very special and we had a great time! Terrific customer service ! Thank you!

A wonderful hotel, in a convenient location. The staff is extremely friendly, and goes the extra mile. Rooms are quite, good sized, with new looking amenities (from TV to fridge to lamps). Bathroom is a bit all, but ok. The hotel has direct access to the shopping mall as well as the Shaw center.

Beautiful hotel. The room we were in had a beautiful view of downtown Ottawa. It looked modern and spotless. Very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The pull out couch was not so comfortable for the kids. They both complained that they had back aches. The amenities were wonderful... Basketball court, full gym, warm salt water pool and hot tub. They had many clean towels in the gym/pool area. I would definately stay at the Westin Hotel again.

We enjoyed the conference last weekend at the Westin. The amenities offered for the attendees were excellent; a good selection of fruit, pastries, along with many choices of beverages. The washrooms were very nice. The staff, I have to say, were outstanding. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. We would consider staying here on our next trip to Ottawa.

All around an amazing experience. Even more so if you’re a dog lover or parent. By far one of the top pet friendly hotels I have ever seen. The hotel literally provides every option and flexibility to make your stay with your fur baby a perfect and comfortable stay. They bring you a dog bed made similarly even to the lush beds for us humans, and beautiful bowls for them. They provide dog walking service if you know you will be leaving for some time and need to have your dog walked, and even have a dog house shaped like Parliament Hill in the lobby so that you can drop them off to be cared for if yu don’t want to leave them in your room. But that’s not all, of you would feel more comfortable leaving them or back, they have a boarding area when staff will care for them as well.

Aside from all that the hotel rooms are gorgeous, and conveniently connected to the Rideau Centre for shopping and anything else you need. The breakfast on the third floor is a great option for breakfast and the Shore Club on the main floor is an amazing dinner option too. Highly recommended as one of the top hotel options in the city, by far!

Oh and how could I almost forget their great Westin Wags program where they bring in a dog each month from a local shelter and guests and staff can take them out for walks along the canal and more. If you Fall in Love, Well speak to management and You can even apply to adopt them as well. Heart warming to see that there are still animal lovers on this planet that go out of their way to care for these fur babies and also the dog lovers of this world.

Beds/pillows are extremely comfortable. I had a fabulous rest. The rooms temp was adjustable (usually in hotels the thermostats don't really change the actual temp). Rooms were very clean. Awesome showerhead. Comfortable robe. Workout clothes/shoes provided; and great views from the gym. Long wait for the elevators but otherwise this place was amazing. Oh - no extensions for late checkouts so just be mindful of that.

Had the oppurtunity to be here for a conference. The meeting rooms are really spacious and has a good view of the downtown. Really liked the interiors. The catered food was delicious and had a lot to choose from. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The parking is however quite expensive even on the weekends.

Stayed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day the hotel staff were terrific, turkey to go and steaks with room service were great! Thanks Erin P and the 2 Laura's for making a very difficult Christmas better. The suite was beautiful and the view of Ottawa at Christmas so nice. Your staff went above expectations, much appreciated and loved the tree. Beds were very comfortable.

The hotel and the room were very nice. Location is a 10. The specialty rooms were set up wonderfully and the caterer that was used was spectacular!! Major problem was the elevators and thus access to the lobby or up to get to your room. I waited as least in 3 separate occasions between 10 and 15 minutes for an elevator. If I was on a low Floor I would have taken the stairs. It was not uncommon to wait 3 to 5 minutes on most occasions. It was quite frustrating. The only other concern would be that we did not get extra soap or shampoo when they were almost finished..it should have been no big deal to have a second set waiting.

The conference room was great and the hotel staff were very pleasant. They have a very nice lobby and even foster dogs for adoption (which you may interact with if you are so inclined). The food served at the meeting was wonderful. While I did not stay overnight, the attendees who did described it as a very nice experience.

Service was attentive and personal. No complaints at all possible in that regard. Food was also good. I asked around, where can I get an excellent meal and was directed here. Good, not excellent. In this league you have to get top cuts of meat and cook them to perfection. Take pride in it and it will show. Cook a good meal, and, well... It's just a good meal. Sorry

Got a chance to stay here for the weekend and found it to be very clean. Room was quite large. Staff was very helpful, especially when looking for local places to eat. We had a later flight and had to check out at 12. Julie (Concierge) was able to secure our luggage until we were ready to leave, so we had a chance to explore Ottawa without dragging our bags around. Nice customer service!

Disappointing service misses.

The good: location, room, and view of Parliament Hill, plus truly the best check-in experience I have ever had with Zachary. Unfortunately that warm fuzzy feeling fled quickly when his colleagues dropped the ball.

The bad : it went downhill quickly from there. It took over 50 minutes for our bags to arrive after we dropped them off at the front door and self parked (I guess I shouldn't have tipped in advance).

When I called to inquire where the bags were I was told that they were busy and I could go down to the front desk to pick them up. Which I did - of course the bags were not there. They arrived shortly after that.

Room Service: without hyperbole this was the worst late night room service I have ever had (and I have had a lot). The homemade kettle chips were completely soggy. They should have been thrown out two days prior (I used to make kettle chips - I understand the problem that when it is humid they only last max 2-3 days.).

There is in my mind absolutely no excuse to be selling several day old and soggy kettle chips. If you don't have the volume, buy in good quality kettle chips in a bag and use them. Please stop serving that soggy mess.

The chicken club wrap was completely dry and cold because they make it in advance and apparently the cook hasn't figured out that putting the sauce directly on the tortilla only make the tortilla soggy and the sandwich dry.

I won't bother you with the small but unsatisfying stuff like running out of products on the menu or poor wayfinding to the front desk from the rideau centre.

The worst part for me was the poor complaint handling. When I mentioned the room service disaster, the front desk person just nodded knowingly and admitted that it is a common complaint. So fix it!

There was no apology or thank you for your feedback or any other attempt to resolve the situation. Just the futile acceptance of a problem that is seemingly persistent.

All service mistakes can be corrected, recipes and processes can be changed. As soon as you just start accepting things that make your guests unhappy then you have lost.

Clean, excellent location as it's close to all the main Ottawa landmarks. Service is ok but could be improved. For the amount you pay for rooms and services such as parking (w hoping 50 dlls a night!) this should be a 5 star and it falls very short.

Why do outdated hotels think they can charge premium prices?

No light in closet, no shave/makeup mirror, no mini bar, nothing to charge your phones with, no computer stations, no full length mirror, no counter space in bathroom, no free wifi; nothing to make you want to come back.

The lobby is completely useless for anything other than puppies and checking in/out. The elevators are stupidly designed. If you make a mistake in the floor you require, you need to go to the floor you accidently punched in, get out and start over.

I will say however, that the service was awesome. They do try to accommodate your needs. But they can only do so much with what they have.

Because the walls were paper thin we could hear the conversation in the next room word for word. One suggestion...if busloads of Leaf fans arrive, try to put them on the same floor. Parties far into the night are not what we paid for.

As a matter of fact, we were promised quite a bit by the SPG representative, whom was quite pleasant but what we got was far from those promises. Instead they tried to nickle and dime us and had to be reminded over and over that this was not was agreed upon when making our reservation.

There was also a divan in our room that needs to be steam cleaned or just thrown out. It was so stained I refused to sit on it without a towel under me.

I understand that The Westin is under construction, but don't make promises you can't keep.

All in all an unpleasant experience that we don't want to repeat.

All in all an unpleasant experience that we don't want to repeat.

The room was beautiful and offered a great view of the Château Laurier and the Parliament. Destiny, the Front Desk Agent gave us this beautiful room as she was aware we were celebrating our anniversary and the bellman, T.J., offered us a complimentary bottle of wine. These 2 Westin employees made our stay absolutely wonderful.

A warning to allergy sufferers: Steer clear from this place if you have bad pet allergies as you'll end up miserable and may require large doses of antihistamines as I did. Elevators smell like a kennel and the dander in the hotel's air is enough to make some people react. They don't mention on some of their listings on resellers' sites that the hotel actively encourages animals in rooms and don't seem to have marketing staff who actively quality control their details on resellers' sites to ensure they're properly listed as pet friendly. If I could've received a refund I would have walked out. 2 stars for people allergic to pets (me), for the rest I'd rate it 4 since, aside from dogs on every floor (which for me negates the good aspects), the rest of the hotel is good and dog lovers will like it.

Great one night stay for a great price (thanks priceline). Location was perfect for restaurants, the markets, and shopping. The parking and access to the hotel itself are challenging at first but more than made up for by the room quality and the staff

The Westin has always been so clean and well kept whenever I visit. It has this warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home. With the limited service that I've been able to experience just by walking in there from Rideau Centre, it's friendly and welcoming. I recommend this hotel to everybody.

Had a corner room on the 19th floor with a beautiful view for our anniversary. Spacious clean rooms and friendly staff. Would suggest the local restaurants and bars in Byward Market over the overpriced hotel restaurant.

Great location, easy walk to Byward Market and Parliament and all you need in Ottawa, the problem was the service when requesting the car and the elevators are amazingly slow. Hence 3 not 4 stars. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time.

Room was nice but overpriced, clean but worn, service was good, extremely busy in the lobby at check in.

Location is great in the heart of Ottawa right next to major tourist destinations. Plenty of restaurants and bars a short walk away. Rooms are spacious and good value for the money. Service is top notch, the best aspect of the hotel.

Presented at a conference here. Facilities were good, although I wish there was one large screen as opposed to two screens on either side of the presenter. Enjoyed the view from the junior suite. Rooms are clean and appear newish, although ceiling heights are low and my wife felt it was more of a 4 star experience based on room layout and ambiance. The lobby is nice. The attached shore club has great cocktails. If parking, self park maxes out at $25 with no in/out privileges. Valet parking is $42 with in/out privileges. Would recommend to Ottawa visitors.

The Westin is one of my favourite places to stay in Ottawa. Always lively and yet welcoming, the hotel is spotlessly clean and well kept. The staff is attentive and helpful. The rooms are modern and bright, with great bathrooms and comfy beds. The workout facility is nice, but is a bit limited in equipment if you want to lift weights. Lots of cardio equipment though. The Westin Workout gear is a great option so you don't have to pack your own and lug the sweaty gear home. Meeting rooms can be a bit cold, so bring a sweater.

Awesome hotel, comfortable and central. Home away from home ....... except for the gift shop - BE AWARE! I left home without my charging cable and block and when I asked the front desk they directed me to the gift store or Apple Store in the Mall. I always feel like I should support the local small business and bought the charging wire and block at the gift store. Unfortunately, it didn't work on my device and I promptly tried to return it -however, NO REFUNDS ($26!) is their policy (not made clear at the time of purchase I might add). The employee even got the manager on the phone to inquire and talk to me (I think she felt bad as I just bought it) -however Manager refused to talk to me and NO REFUND was the message delivered by the clerk. SO MUCH FOR SHOPPING and SUPPORTING local!!! Off to the Apple Store - and I would suggest you too by pass the gift store in the lobby!
