Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin last week. The location of the hotel just couldn't be better with absolutely every shop and amenity on your doorstep and the bridge and opera house only a short walk away (you can see part of the bridge from outside the hotel). The room we had was spacious with a lovely big bathroom and a great shower. The highlight of the room was definitely the bed which was undoubtedly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - I had a dream sleep every night. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and accommodating. We had a fuss-free check-in and check-out, and they really couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had a great stay. The coffee, breakfast and room service inside the hotel are WAY overpriced, but this is nothing unusual when it comes to 5 star hotels. I'd also say that I wouldn't really bother with breakfast at the hotel - it's not that nice; but there are so many options within a short walking distance. The restaurant Intermezzo which is attached to the hotel is WONDERFUL though and I definitely couldn't recommend them highly enough for dinner. I will without a doubt be staying at the Westin next time I am in Sydney, and would without hesitation recommend them to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

A very nice hotel with some drawbacks particular to my room. Location 5 stars. Service 5 stars. Room appointments 4 stars- bed a little hard, not as 'heavenly' as I've come to expect. Bathroom a little funny, glass walls that don't quite fit together right at the doors. Main issues: shower incapable of holding a temperature, swings between scalding and lukewarm without moving handle. Door lacking any insulation, every noise in the hallway heard loudly. Otherwise great, will give it another chance with another room.

Excellent hotel located on Martin Place. The location is very good and allows you to walk to any point of Sydney CBD, and also to Darling Harbor.
The hotel is located in the historic Old Mail building, along with a dozen restaurants and bars.
The rooms are large with extraordinarily comfortable beds and very large bathrooms. The service is excellent and the hotel is very clean.

I attended a lunchtime professional function in the ballroom. Nice facilities. Menu was alternate beef and salmon. Service was efficient given the 300+ attendees, but steak was very rare - possibly how fancy places claim it should be done, but if there's a next time, I'll be listing 'no red meat' as a dietary requirement.

This isn't a five star hotel for no reason! So here are 5 reasons why this place is so good.
3. The service is excellent, everyone is kind and helpful
1. The rooms are clean and comfortable, we could sleep for days
5. The bathtub is big! We rarely get to take a bath these days
4. We got a warm welcome with snacks to celebrate our anniversary
2. You're in the hear of Sydney, so many good locations are just a walk away and parking is validated for overnight!

A great hotel, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and featured modern decor. Staff were friendly and hospitable.

There is a nice lounge on one of the higher floors which gives you a great view of the city.

What I especially liked about this property was how central it was to most of the major tourist attractions and businesses.

Good location and comfortable rooms. Some aspects of the room were a bit dated, but got the job done. Would definitely stay again if in the CBD. Not a far walk from the trendier Surrey Hills area as well.

Great menu selection with daily specials. Gets busy between 7pm to 9pm so may be hard for big groups to find seats. Waiting time for food is usually 10/15 minutes. Busy times increases to half an hour. Plenty of street parking in surrounding streets. Mostly friendly bar staff. There's a bar and seating areas Upstairs and downstairs, kitchen is downstairs.

Rooms in the heritage wing (can't remember what they are called now) are beautiful. But they are on lower floors. A pity that we had to change rooms due to bad drainage in the bathroom which led to overflows into the room and on the carpets.... The new room provided was great too but a little more ordinary. It was still a good stay.

I’ve stayed at The Westin on many occasions and the hospitality and level of service is amazing every time. The staff are incredibly friendly and are very accommodating. As I have been here on other occasions, I’ve gotten to know some of the staff & they always remember my name and make an effort to communicate.
The hotel is very centrally based- it’s right near Pitt St Mall for shopping and it’s not far to walk to Circular Quay and Darling Harbour which also have plenty of food options (and of course, the Opera House at Circular Quay).

The Westin in downtown Sydney is conveniently located in Martin place, within easy walking distance of the harbor area, the gardens, public transit, and many other locations. The rooms are comfortably appointed and clearly well taken care of. Breakfast in Mosaic, level 1, has tons of good options. The staff was extremely friendly at all times. Definitely recommended.

I stayed there for more than 10 days back in 2015. The whole team is friendly and cooperative as long as you speak intelligible English. The breakfast was satisfactory and won't let you down. The rooms on the highest floors give you a nice view but the scenery from the lower floors is a put off. If you want a hotel with a nice big pool or gym, this is not exactly what you're looking for. As for cleanliness, the rooms are clean and room service lives up to 5-star standards. The spa and bathrooms are large and the furniture is relatively new. However, I had to pay more to move to a room on a higher floor, and they gave me the key to a room left by the previous client in complete chaos. They made it up to me by allowing me to check out a few hours later than the usual check-out time. I liked Westin and it's a hotel worth trying at least once, but honestly for that price you afford to experience way better services in Sydney.

I only ate at the fondue restaurant here. Fairly pricey but delicious. A great range of dipping meats, veg and breads and a superb fonue dip. Several different flavoured fondues with different cheeses. The dark chocolate fondue for dessert was excellent. Limited covers, but did not seem too busy.

Stayed here for three nights while in town for a conference.

I believe they combined a new building with their historic building - you have to walk across a bridge to the "legacy" building.

Neat-o hotel, everything was clean. I wish I wasn't in the legacy building - you can tell it's old and it smells like old library a bit in the hallways. I did not take advantage of any of the amenities. Nice guest services agent who checked me in. Would stay again.

One of my favorite hotels in the world. The service and location are exceptional. I love the old section of the hotel and the bathroom waterfall shower actually inspired me as I was renovating my own house. Can't wait to return to this lovely city and stay here again. Worth the $$$

Perfectly placed between the Rocks and Pitt St Mall (10 minute walk either direction), it's in a very upmarket and nice part of town. Plenty of secluded spaces hidden in the vast lobby area to grab a snack or cocktail. You'll pay top dollar, but you're at the Westin. It's also a very historical building. The rooms are nice and spacious, but haven't been updated or refreshed in more than 10 years, so in my opinion are not as contemporary as what they used to be. But the separate bath and shower, and toilet (with door) are a big plus. Views from the higher levels are stunning.

Ideally located at 1 Martin Place in the heart of Sydney, the Westin provides 5 star accommodation, service and dining. The rooms are understated luxury with all the technology you require. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and ready to go the extra mile to see to your needs. The hotel is partly located in the heritage listed Sydney post office building with it's iconic clock tower, with the majority of rooms in the attached high-rise. Highly recommended.

This place is definitely one of the most underrated hotels in Sydney. The food is first class no matter where you eat in here and the service A1. The rooms are immaculate as are the function rooms. Top top it all off the place has been designed to merge the old classic, sandstone structure of the GPO with the modern, contemporary look of the hotel.

Attended my graduation ball at the Westin. The venue looked really nice, however the decor was minimal. I had 3 course meal which was delicious. Wished it was 5 course meal and have better decor but I believe it was budget related. The dance floor was a bit small to accomodate almost our whole cohort. However all in all I enjoyed the night.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful part of downtown Sydney. Very cosmopolitan. But make sure your wallet is full because this city is EXTREMELY expensive, more than San Francisco and Manhattan. Martinis were $30 each in their bar and food is just as pricey. Everything is double for clothing as well but right now, the U.S dollar is strong so that's some relief. Still, the city is breathtakingly beautiful and so clean. Definitely worth visiting.

We went for the Mad Hatter's High Tea this afternoon, which we enjoyed with a 'Drink me' cocktail (blueberry mojito - very nice!) The food was delicious, particularly the Queen of Hearts tart! I am vegetarian and let them know this with my booking; they accommodated for my dietary requirements with no fuss, and didn't make me feel like I was being a hassle! The service was impeccable, the wait staff very friendly and attentive. Worth every cent, would highly recommend.

I went to the restaurant with my mother and my two brothers for the lunch special. We were very pleased with the lunch special which was $40 which included a small main, entree, appetizer, dessert, and drink. Drink could have been wine or juice or soft drink. It was a nice and relaxing atmosphere and the service was very good. It was at the mosaic restaurant.

Great location near Darling harbor. Not that great reservation system. I had booked two reservations back to back for an early check in and they still woke me up at the end of the first one thinking I had to check out despite me telling the front desk I had two back to back reservations. Lousy availability of rooms electrical outlets you have to move the beds to find electrical outlets near them . No built in USB chargers like in newer hotels. I suppose I'm used to better facilities in hotels in other parts of the world. They also got my gender wrong with my title. But other than these little details it's a comfortable room in a great location.

Excellent location in the middle of the city. Good service and recommendations from the front desk staff and good room service. Great rain shower and quiet room with good block out of light. This is a really excellent hotel in a great location but you can't help but feel they are taking advantage when room service charges $75 for a $20 bottle of wine and then adds a $8 delivery charge. Pros are location and standard of service. Big con is the cost of room service.

Def not up to Westin standard in terms of service. The executive lounge is too small, it cannot cater for the number of guests esp at breakfast. The furniture was hopeless when trying to eat , the height of the chairs and tables don't compute. Room was spacious but every morning,we had a noise problem travelling through the lift. Don't expect free bottled water for SPG platinum members. They want you to drink the tap water. Location was good though.

I took a two double bed room on the first floor. The room was really wide and tall. Bathroom facilities are good, and I particularly enjoyed the rain shower. There's also a huge bathtub. The beds were pretty good to sleep on as well. The only caveat seems to be that there was no power point near the bed, so it was hard to work on something in bed, or charge the phone at the bedside.

Great location. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Only downside I experienced is that I couldn't add breakfast to my reservation after I had checked in. Great location, right in center of CBC,
You can reach all of Sydney's downtown attraction within walking distance,
Opera house, Pitt street shopping, tower eye, Surry hill, all probably about 20 min.
Well, I myself can really walk,
Plus all the one-way and traffic, walking sometimes is faster than taxi for me.
Train station is not far as well, plus all the banks and supermarket nearby
It's a great place to stay.
Room is modernly decorated, spacious and nicely maintained
Staff are friendly and helpful
Breakfast is great and delicious,
The building is combined with the historical Martin place, so staying and walking within is quite stylish
So, the price also reflects on it's values, certainly some budget is required
Overall I still quite like this hotel!

A great overnight experience. Using the Wilson parking and having it validated by the Westin meant it only cost us $15 to park overnight in Sydney! The staff were pleasant, upon arrival. The room was clean and well stocked. The bed was a little soft for our liking, as were the pillows (but this is just personal preference). Downside to the room - no power sockets near the bedside to charge phones. The only other thing I found strange was that I couldn't order a beer at the bar downstairs to take back to our room. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good (I love their scrambled eggs!). Checkout was fast and easy.

Beautiful hotel. Clean, comfortable, and stylish rooms as everyone expects from a Westin. The bed, however, was not as comfortable as it usually is. It had a bump in the middle and dips in the sides. Breakfast included eggs any way you like and all the other usual buffet breakfast items. They also had smoked salmon with capers and onions which was very nice. Plenty of delicious options to please everyone. If you plan on going to the pool, ask for directions. It involves multiple fights of stairs, 2 elevators, and a walk through the health club to a fairly small pool. I've stayed at this hotel a few times over the past decade and it never disappoints, I'm sure I'll be back again in the future.

Great from the moment we walked in. Easy check-in. Staff were great (especially Peter). Had a breakfast at the Mosaic Restaurant. The hotel uses a Goodlife gym for its own which is great as you get a great range of equipment. Only downside is the opening hours (not 24/7). Beds are comfortable and rooms are a good size. Valet parking was a touch on the expensive side, but I expected city parking wasn't going to be cheap.

A brilliant hotel with fantastic, helpful staff at a high but reasonable price. The Mosaic buffet was brilliant and the service there to avoid allergies was perfect. The wheelchair accessible rooms were in need of some changes - the doors were narrow with deep carpet that sticks chair wheels and the room design was not good. But the stuff have listened to our feedback and before we even left they began to make changes and improve their facilities.
For that reason the Westin gets five stars.

Rooms are spacious and ultra modern.
High end price-wise but well worth it

I'm a regular of the Westin Melbourne and was a little nervous about Sydney (because...well... Sydney) but I really enjoyed my stay. My initial room had a very odd smell (moldy carpet) but they quickly moved me (though they did leave my luggage in the original room!!)

Their buffet breakfast is my favorite. All the options!

You can never really have a bad experience with The Westin. Splurge for the nicer rooms if you can :)

I went for the mad hatters high tea at the westin, it was ok. I wasnt really impressed. Didnt get any sandwiches, the scones were just warm and the cream was hard, not how scones are served. I didnt feel like the high tea was filling enough. The service was good and the staff were friendly.

I love the location of this hotel more than anything. It's a very nice experience, but comparing it to other well-appointed hotels in established inner cities, the service is slightly below standard. Breakfast is much better than middle-tier hotels in the US (think Marriott Fairfield), but not the likes of what you would expect for the amount you're paying. Amazing location though, everything in reach in downtown Sydney. Note - parking is outrageously expensive, although they have a Wilson contract a block away that's much cheaper (validate at the luggage porter desk).

Attended the Westin for High Tea. The spread was nice, and everything was beautifully laid out. My only concern is that the scones were rock hard. I wanted to give this a 5-star review, and would have if it wasn't for that. Everything else was flawless. Service was great, atmosphere was nice, the drinks and other food were divine.

I went to the Heritage High Tea with friends. The service was very gracious and the offerings were superb. I'll go back again because I had such a pleasant experience from the moment I got out of the taxi. The staff was pleasantly attentive throughout. The decor was very nice, actually scenic, blending modern amenities with traditional Sydney architecture.

Great location in CBD. I recently stayed there on points and was pleasantly surprised with the room.

Was disappointed with our latest visit as they had a rowdy function running past 1am. Couldn't get a good night's sleep. Would expect better from a 5 star hotel. Will stay at Park Hyatt next time.

Always enjoy staying at Westin brand - the beds are comfortable, the bathtubs huge and the staff efficient though sometimes a little distant instead of friendly
