I just spent 3 weeks at the Westin Taipei, it is dated and it is closing BUT you can't tell that by the service that is provided. Every single person I interacted with was courteous and helpful and professional, many spoke excellent English and they all seemed to genuinely care about my experience with the hotel as well as their city. I cannot imagine where I will stay the next time I visit, thanks to the fine staff at the Westin Taipei, the bar is high.

Loved the hotel, all staff were helpful with questions and directions. The rooms were clean and a nice size. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet available. Wanted use the gym and pool, never got around to them. The local metro station was within a 5 min walking distance and the commuter bus to the airport was 2 blocks away ( 7 stops to the airport), very convenient.
The hotel is in convenient location, Breeze dept store similar to Macy's was in walking distance, maybe 12 minutes. Local bakery, restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance.
Would stay at this hotel again. If not available would find a hotel in same location.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. From my understanding it is shutting down by end of the year. It is one of the Taipei hotels that I enjoy staying at. Some of the pros are very friendly and helpful staff, great lounge, nice movie theatre and restaurants. The suites are quite nice. The elite membership benefits are a bit hit and miss, however it is usually decent.

This is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at for work or vacation. The hotel bar and staff are phenomenal and the breakfast is delicious. I stayed for a month and they never changed the food which would be my only hint towards a complaint. The whiskey selection and cigar bar shouldn’t be missed. The rooms are great and beds are SPG platinum worthy.

Great hotel. Rooms are comfortable, service is great and exercise facilities are well maintained. The swimming pool is well kept and the weights room small but well designed. Lots of food options

Lovely hotel in Taipei. It's a bit dated though. Need some tender loving care. Breakfast in the Club lounge was quite good: almost full continental breakfast with a few local cuisines. Location is also good as it's close to a metro station. Thus, one could take the train from the airport to the hotel. Well, I opted for the hotel's limo instead just to give my son a treat in a C350 Benz.

This upscale hotel in the Central Business District is an 11-minute walk from the closest subway stop and 4 km from the Taipei 101 skyscraper.
Relaxed rooms feature flat-screens, high-speed Internet (fee), tea and coffeemakers, and city views. Club rooms add access to a private lounge that offers free breakfast, afternoon tea and drinks. Suites provide living rooms, and upgraded suites have dining areas. In-room massages and 24-hour room service are available.
Parking is complimentary. The 8 dining options include Chinese, Italian and Japanese restaurants. There's a spa, an indoor pool and a sauna, plus a gym and a movie theater.

Nice hotel. But for Starwood hotels in Taipei, I would rate W as the best and Sheraton 2nd, and Westin 3rd for the rooms and restaurants/bars.

I liked this hotel, clean and well maintained. The rooms are decent size but overall the hotel looks older compared to other hotels in the area. The location of this hotel is very convenient, everything is at a walking distance. If you like Starbucks coffee, its right around the corner. Finding vegetarian food in the area can be a problem.

Great hotel with great service for the price! We are platinum member and booked the lowest room and got upgraded. The room is very big and modern. The bathtub is nice. There isn’t much sightseeing around here. That’s just the problem.

Central location. Next to subway. Easy to move around. Excellent service. Attentive but not intrusive. Room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast selection at the executive lounge can be wider. Happy hour at lounge is excellent.

The first floor Elite Cafe is really pleasant and nice to sit for conversation. Beautiful lighting and comfortable seating without waiters trying to get rid of you fast. Only drawback is the lack of menu selection for breakfast.

Rooms were very clean, spacious and a good enough size. I stayed in a superior room with my boo. Restaurants are excellent staff is very attentive and English is very good. I went to the bar downstairs, had breakfast in the basement and enjoyed cocktails at the Churchill bar. When ordering food to your room be very clear with what you want. I had an error twice with a specific pasta and the type of bread I wanted. The rooms have a mini bar too that's very convenient. Quality toiletries. Helpful staff I had a much better stay compared to FX hotel the last time.

The buffet is quite expensive with few items to choose from. I guess the reason being that they provide you a entree item a la carte. Overall still not worth the 1500 TWD price tag, would not return.

Decent business hotel, good value for money, clean and functional, a block away from the Nanjing Fuxing MRT station. Downstairs buffet restaurant is awful, executive club access for breakfast is a must.

Decent rooms, if a bit tired. Check-in staff is inflexible, do not expect to get a room before checkin time at 3pm. There are better business hotels in Taipei.

Just ok. Compared with other same price and same star hotels. One thing to point out is breakfast .
I am pretty disappointed for breakfast. 5 star hotel breakfast should have raw comb honey. Tomato juice. Also lack of different kind of boiled rice !

Not worth the value. Westin is more expensive than other 5 star hotels such as Regent but the lobby is very small and the decoration is very old, plus the room was not cleaned well when I stayed. The service staff did not smile when they serve. I am surprised because its not 5 star hotel service quality. I asked for a hair band, they dont have. I asked for 2 shower cabs, they only brought one. I asked them to clean my bath tub but it was not cleaned for 2 days. The only good thing was that they changed a room for me because the first room I had had a broken decoration panel, which is also very unusual for a 5 star hotel.

Very nice hotel, however there is free Wi-fi all over Tapei, while this rather expensive hotel wants to charge you $15 a day for it. Nice pool, breakfast buffet. Will stay here again if the company pays, On my own dime I will probably go for the pleasant new FX Hotel next door, with free wifi.

firstable when you inside you will smell a good smelling
that call customer service
and inside they have good hardware to have seat
good bed room and restaurant
Very old hotel. Spacious room but no heating so it was freezing in winter during a cold front. Old wiring shorted out my laptop computer during a thunder storm. Outlets did not have a ground.
Staff is very attentive and do their best but the hotel can really use a major system upgrade.
