The Yeatman is located in Gaia and offers great views over Porto. The hotel was cleverly decided with the majority of the rooms plus public spaces having balconies. The room are big, the breakfast was good and the only I think I did not like was charging 20€ per night in their own car park. COVID-19 status: hotel is open and you can see they take care in assuring that most of the things and clean and even protected in plastic (e.g. beach towels)

Occupying a breathtaking position overlooking the Douro River and the historic city centre, The Yeatman enjoys stunning panoramic views from its extensive grounds and individually appointed guest rooms with their own private terraces. A haven for wine lovers and those wishing to explore the fascinating world of Port and other wines from Portugal's best producers. The Restaurant favours the importance of food and wine pairing and both the restaurant and wine list have won prizes including two Michelin star.

Member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection of hotels and distinguished with a Michelin Star for its restaurant under the direction of Chef Ricardo Costa, The Yeatman Hotel in Porto is a unique and distinctive landmark in the world of classic luxury hotels.

Timeless elegance and a wealth of authentic detail create a very special atmosphere which evokes the distinctive personality of this ancient city and its historic link to the world of wine. Occupying a commanding hillside position on the south bank of the River Douro, every room at The Yeatman Hotel enjoys breathtaking, panoramic views over the historic centre of Porto.

Do you like amazing views? Do you love wine and enjoy drinking it? Do you enjoy a luxury hotel with excellent service?

If you answered yes, then you'll love the Yeatman. If you answered no, then there's other hotels across the river for you.

Great views, friendly staff, but at the esplanade they only do snacks. It’s a bit disappointing, they should do tapas to go with expensive bottle of wine. Veg option, lettuce and walnuts. Really..?!

Perfect Spot for a dinner with a view! We had a Light Lunch at yeatmans and yes, it is a bit pricy... Ok, its expensive... 😉
But sitting There at the terrace is definately worth it! The view is amazing

We went for sunset drinks. The views are very good but not that great. Service was very slow... We asked for a gin&tonic and a cocktail and they took more than half an hour to serve it. Plus the gin & tonic was very simple: no lemon, no black pepper... and the cocktail was ridiculously small. Also they didn't bring any coasters, nor snacks.
For the price you pay they should look at theses details.....
The idea was having dinner too but we left.

A beautiful hotel with amazing views!

After a little disappointing start on our stay (I had used a lot of time in advance to communicate with the management to be sure that there was a bottle of sparkling wine and some fruits at our room at arrival as a surprise for my wife – and they did not manage it at all…) I have to admit that this is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visiting. Take a look at my attached photos and you will understand!

Our beautiful and spacious room (no 720) had a large outdoor private terrace and spectacular panoramic view towards Porto across the river. Very comfortable beds and spotlessly clean!

The bath looks onto the bedroom, with a louvre shutter divide that can be opened or closed with a separate toilet and stand-alone shower. The shower is small, and the positioning of the door makes it a little difficult. The products are good quality and what you would expect for a high-class hotel like this.

The restaurant terrace is lovely for a drink and the pool was perfect for sunning, although it was cold to swim when we were there. The indoor infinity swimming pool had marvellous views over Porto and this view as you swim on an evening is something that I will remember for ever.

The breakfast was amazing with a very nice buffet selection (see my attached photos!) and supplemented with a menu for additional hot dishes. The wait staff were always checking and taking care of our needs.

My wife and I had a massage in the SPA area and it was very professional!

The staff create a feeling of calm and nothing was too much trouble.

In summary this is a special hotel for a romantic getaway!

I had been 5 stars from me if they had managed my order at arrival.

Regards

Awesome experience... With excellent, fresh food made to suit each diner's individual palate. The ambience is very good, with attention to detail and the superb view adds to the charm. Everything about it is superlative and that is not an exaggeration.. It merely justifies the multiple michelin stars the place has earned year after year. Chef Ricardo Costa is a very unassuming man, with a very clean and well run kitchen. This place is to be experienced and enjoyed as a destination...

Expensive, pompous, overly ornate. But the service is impeccable in the way you only find in a hotel of this caliber and the views at the bar are absolutely unparalleled! Watch out for the seagulls, though-they're brazen and won't hesitate before snatching your beer snacks!

I had the tasting menu and also the wine tasting to accompany the food. I was somewhat skeptical, but it was absolutely amazing. Food was fantastic, service was perfect and the wine was delightful. Overall, a wonderful experience that I'd recommend to anyone who is willing to pay for it. Prices are insanely high, the highest I've seen, but it is worth it. The view is also intoxicating. Note that despite the small portions, it'll satiate your appetite.

Beautiful restaurant with beautiful views. That's the end of the wow factor with this disappointing 2 star experience. We all enjoyed the service and the evening but. And it's a big but. We were all scratching our heads as to why it has 2 stars. Nothing really pushed the boundaries apart from the pre dinner surprises which were all great. You have options of 3 tasting menus. One which has chefs surprise from the extensive tasting menu. The squid was especially bad. My quail was returned to the kitchen undercooked. When your paying close to a €1000 for dinner you expect amazing! So you get a very critical but honest review.

The Yeatman is situated just above the river providing you with exceptional views of the beautiful city of Porto. The piano bar area is a small delight with excellent service and nice drinks. My personal highlight was Fererando who is in charge of the wine experience. The hotel has a little wine shop with a nice selection of wines. Most important Ferando is a wonderful passionate wine professional. He is knows a lot about local and other Portuguese wines. As luck has it the first bottle was faulty and oxidised, the second one hat cork. The third one was fine. All changed in the utmost wonderful professional manner. The finger foods could be better a the hotel they are not of a 5 star quality neither was the bread served with the various dishes. Go for the wine and the service and if you want you can book a table is the extravagant beautiful 2 star Michelin restaurant. THANK YOU for an most excellent evening. I hope to return soon.

Incredible place, the view is gorgeous, the decoration is Beautiful. The restaurant can be pricey as the chef holds 2 Michelin stars, if that is a problem you can try the bar where they have more affordable food. Try the Francesinha there!

It's all about the view at the Yeatman. Large comfortable rooms with large terraces have stunning views of old town Porto and the bridge. The views are just as stunning after sunset when Porto lights up, Even your bathtub can have a panoramic view of Porto if you wish (just close the shutters in the bathroom if you would prefer privacy). The hotel has a beautiful indoor pool and relaxing bar both with views. The breakfast is unmissable and the dining room also has a fantastic view. The hotel is opposite Taylors Wine Lodge which has a great bar, restaurant, terrace and shop. Yes, the hotel is a short very steep walk up from the Duoro river in Vila Nova de Gaia, but you can also take a more level walk into central Vila Nova de Gaia where you can visit El Corte Ingles for shopping or get the tram into Porto city itself. However, upon arriving at the hotel you may not wish to leave the view on offer! This is one of the essential places to stay in Porto.

The best food, wine and service I've experienced ever! Truly outstanding. Travelling throughout the world I have been lucky to have experienced many fine dining experiences and stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels. This beats them all and the service is so effortlessly perfect you really feel like you are the most important guest in the hotel. The views are amazing and the hotel rooms all look out to the beautiful old town and the Douro valley. If you come to Porto then you have to stay here for a wholly memorable experience of everything porto has to offer. A huge thank you to all the fantastic team at The Yeatman!

The very best thing about The Yeatman is the view you get of Porto across the from your room and terrace -- I think every room has one. Otherwise, the hotel does not live up to what I expected and is only above average in its restaurant and service. The rooms are a nice size, but aren't all that "traveler friendly" -- e.g., no drawers to store your clothes. I thought the Michelin starred restaurant was very disappointing and chose to eat in local restaurants riverside for Portuguese cuisine. The walk from my room to the elevators was the length of 3 football fields. The gardens are lovely and the pool very nice, but the gym was disappointing. I didn't take advantage of the spa facilities. The staff was friendly, but clearly a training staff, both very young and inexperienced.
