Always great stay to be had here. Wonderful food. Great staff. Fantastic building

Very comfortable beds. Very well looked after. Bathrooms are very nice, and they give away disposables which is handy. Didn't have any issues. Stayed in the main building and also the barn on a different night; it's an alright walk to the barn. Very good price for the time of year. Breakfast was fairly average. Dinner menu wasn't bad but quite limited.

My review updated today: ** lovely grounds but put in The Ridings which is a outside walk from the hotel reception and dining facilities/bar. It's a shame there is nothing (even a cafe) in this building as I do not want to walk back to my room after my dinner in the dark along the road (as I am travelling alone). The room also feels quite tired with cracks and marks on the chair in the room. It's a shame as the room I had in the main building previously was lovely and i didnt feel cutoff from the hotel.

My review 3 months ago: ***** Beautiful hotel with ample parking and conference facilities

Brilliant! As advertised. Spacious room. Fabulous quirky furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Instant plentiful hot water. Controllable heating. Peaceful setting. Very faint murmur of traffic not at all intrusive. Great value at £44 for 'single' room

Big old place I think the staff try really hard here. The price is good considering the location. Food and beverage is ok the breakfast is buffet style with a really good selection.

Beautiful venue even on a wet cloudy day. The grounds are extraordinary, well kept. They even roll out the red carpet on your wedding day. ;)

Hotel is nice, rooms too. Academy venue for events is good, kind service there. Restaurant quality and breakfast service is poor. Fruit salads often over service date! We got fed up with the food within two days so we had dinner out.

Disappointed with our stay, at the Reception we had a long wait to book in. Lift did not work, room too hot. Also, we had a long wait at breakfast for all the hot and cold food items and cold drinks to be replaced. Waitress promised to serve us with sausages when cooked. These never arrived even though we asked several times, seems they had run out of stock.
Overall, my 66th birthday was tainted by the poor standard of service at the Cheshunt De Vere hotel.

Have stayed here quite a few times. Love the place from the rooms, the area to the gorgeous breakfast and tranquility. The reception staff are helpful and friendly. The advance membership is a lovely touch too. Grounds are lovely. Never want to leave.

The hotel is in a charming property, the room was comfortable and the staff were very nice.
It is an old building, therefore the halls are narrow and the layout is a bit confusing.

I covered a wedding here in Autumn a few years ago. This is a lovely estate and very well kept. Lots of interesting place's for photos all seasons of the year. Highly recommended.

8

Excellent conference facilities, well set out, with great configuration of spaces. Coffee and sweat pastry selection was a bit of a flop when we did stop for break, was not there as promised, only coffee. Lunch was very nice a large selection all fresh and well presented. The venue is set in small parkland setting with lovely outdoor space. The tree house is fantastic. Easy to access from the M25 with fairly good availability.

Nice comfortable beds. Friendly reception staff. Bar service too slow, the lady serving kept disappearing. Public toilete hand dryers full of hairs and required good clean. Hotel building and grounds are gorgous. I would personally stay there again.

8

Rooms are nice - the hotel is split in two between an old part and an extension. The rooms in the old part are varied (as you'd expect from such a building) while the modern bit is full of large spacious rooms although without the character of the old ones. Food is okay, had better from De Vere. Dining room much too small and quantity of food a bit on the slim side

8

Lovely room on a beautiful estate, opened my black out curtains to see squirrels running through the trees. Great breakfast but lunch and dinner was a little bland. Kitchen staff did provide things like more sauce when asked. As for the bar, they needed more than just one person on when they have a wedding and a conference on. Still, I would recommend this place to people who want to stay some where within the north M25 area.

Stuff is very friendly. And the hotel is like a maze, not so easy to find your room. Except that, room is ok, location is quit beautiful. Recommend it!

Lovely place to stay. Highly recommend. The staff were very helpful and efficient. The rooms lovely & clean. We say rooms as we were given the choice of one of 3 as there is 3 different areas to stay in. Plenty of selection for breakfast.

It was in a nice location, away from the crowd and congestion, after passing a forest area. Enough parking space. They have bar, free hot drinks serving area, a lounge to sit and chat with colleagues between the break time.
Washroom is clean and enough signs to find rooms.
Management should let the lawn mower guy know not to operate near the meeting rooms.
Just was annoyed with the lawn mower guy.. He was driving his mower next to our meeting room for 12-15 minutes... And meeting room windows are wooden frame, single glazed.

Easily accessible from Junction 25 of the M25 but set back from the main road so you feel like you're in the countryside. The driveway is so long that there's a sign telling you you're halfway! The outside of hotel is impressive and the conference rooms are spacious with great furniture...love the wheeled stools! Food and snacks for our work event were delicious. Marvellous tea/coffee station. Great lunchtime walk in the grounds.

Conference room was clean and well equipped. Good choice of food for lunch and coffee refreshments were always available. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Impressive sceneries around the grounds.

5

Stayed in room 610, the room was tidy but not to the level I'd have expected for a 4 star hotel and £127 per night. Grimey bathroom tiles with mould round the edges, smudges on the mirrors and glass in the room and the room it's self smelt fusty. They had opened the window prior to our arrival I assume to let some fresh air in but only left it cold. The bed was comfy which I suppose is one of the most important things. Ordered room service. Mediocre at best the club sandwich was nice and home cooked chips were surprisingly good but the pizza looked as if a child had made it soggy and way to much cheese. The grounds are lovely and the bar area is nice and relaxing I just can't justify the price for the rooms. Should have booked at the travel lodge down the road would have been more modern and the rooms a little more well kept for half the price comparing this room to other hotels I've stayed at for a similar price this is no where near the quality I'd have expected. Left feeling a bit ripped off, Wouldn't stay again.

Room was clean, spacious and had all essential items available. Dinner was served quickly, accurately and was lovely... Especially the chocolate and orange ganache tart! Check out was super quick and correct.

Fantastic place. Was there for a wedding which nothing went wrong at all. Reception staff were very helpful. Not 5 stars as house keeping need to remove dirty dishes from corridors etc same day...not 2 days later. They also have liquid hipster drinks at breakfast.....

Had a room in the main manor house during a recent work event. Likely an old servant's room judging by the small size of it. Room was tired and window had a wall a foot outside it obscuring any view. Have stayed before in more modern areas and rooms were much better. The dinner and breakfast were good but the lunch was average. It's ok.

Had an event in the Barn. Venue is nice, parking is good. Service was poor and food was the worst I've had in all the time I've used it sadly. No choice for vegetarians, all beige fried food, no hot water for tea and ran out of water from the fountain, only one person attending a group of about 50.

WiFi is excellent, food is decent, conference facilities nice. Rooms were pretty standard and comfortable for DeVere, however they have 1 key per room which is annoying when you're not always with your roommate. Besides that, had a lovely stay

I recently stayed at this amazing hotel but arrived one day early they were the night manager Tim I found a room where I can stay he was attentive as his other team members they were fought for they were kind but most of all it was the security and my well-being that they fought off and that I had a good night's rest a big thank you to Tim the night manager and his team I recommend this hotel it is clean the staff there are attentive and security minded yet again a big thank you to Tim and his team

Good service as always. Room comfortable and all facilities available. The meeting room was functional but heating a bit random. Refreshments were readily available. Sadly the back areas, stairs etc are looking a bit tired. Meals were good if lacking in variety and the the staff very helpful. Would be happy to visit again.

7

Very imposing building. Set in 55 acres it is a beautiful setting. Staff very attentive. Only thing that annoyed me is their policy regarding payment for things. Because of this policy ordered room service my had to go to deal to pay for it anyway, defeating object of room service! Communal areas could be cleaner (lot of cobwebs and dust). Other than that great place to stay

The staff were lovely, very attentive when needed, however I was disappointed with the room, my stay was a gift for my 50th birthday and I am certain the person who booked it wasn't expecting me to be staying in the box room, it was slightly wider than a double bed and just over twice the length, food was very nice if slightly disorganised at breakfast
