Clean enough facilities with pleasant staff. However I had no TV remote so couldn’t turn it on, my window didn’t open and I spent ages parking. Buying the parking ticket was something else after I finally found a space 😂

I was amazed by this hotel. It was very cheap but everything in it was of high standard. There was even a good restaurant and bar.
It was perfect for our early flight from Gatwick as there is shuttle bus every 10 minutes from the door.

Great for staying at before a flight from Gatwick, lovely clean spacious place. It was difficult to find at first but we managed. From North Terminal, use bus stop 8 and catch either bus G1,G3 or G7 depending on the time of day, it's £4 each cash. When leaving the Travelodge they booked us a Taxi at £3 each, card or cash. Great stay, food and a good price.

I always use Gatwick Travelodge, when travelling with an early start or late arrival. Always clean and comfortable with lovely fluffy white towels. Staff pleasant and ready to meet all needs. Good access to extras for room tea/coffee etc.

Stayed there over night with my family in a 'Super family room' it was lovely, way better than some of the other hotels I've been in, in the UK.

pros
1. Very spacious
2. Absolutely loved the firmness of the bed and the pillows were just perfect
3. Hotel looks upscale
4. 3 elevators
5. Staff were very accommodating

Cons
1. No phone in room
2. Walls need soundproofing
3. Not a fan of the restaurant (serving sizes too small for prices, not very tasty) however it was very clean

Loved this stay, the night before early flight. Great size room, clean and had everything needed. Good facilities, although cashpoint not working. Would definitely recommend as great value for money.

Surprisingly good! Quiet, comfortable beds, spacious room and good shower. Used as a stopover before flying out early the following day on holiday and I'd use it again. Other hotels offering the same deal were nowhere near as good. 100quid for the night and a week's purple parking. Nice one

Very impressed with this recently refurbished Travelodge.

The reception staff were very pleasant and friendly and check in was a quick and simple process. The reception area and communal areas were immaculate.

We had a twin room and it was neatly presented and very clean with plenty of room to move around. The room was air conditioned and was very welcome in this current heatwave.

Breakfast was great - buffet style with plenty of selection and at a great cost - £8.50 per person.

Only small downside was the cost of the car park - the hotel offers a 24 hour rate for residents costing £8, which I thought was a bit steep, but perhaps other local hotels do the same, given the proximity to the airport.

Rooms are very nice, they should advertise their restaurant better. It has a bar as well and they are good! Instead of including the shuttle price on the rooms, you have to pay 3 pounds per trip to the airport and if you want to call the hotel from outside, you have to pay!! Plus there isn't phone in the rooms! I wonder if they don't want to have repeated guests coming back!!

Room was very clean and quiet which I was not expecting. The restaurant and bar is a good addition to travelodge and the food was good and quite a varied menu. There was a pleasant atmosphere complete strangers chatting about their holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beds to die for.

Modern comfortable hotel that's very clean. Close to airport parking and the airport. I was surprised to pay for parking but my wife pointed out it was mentioned when we booked. £8 per day. So include this when you book. I would recommend.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view from the 6th floor. Great food in the restaurant. We stayed the night before and flew early the next morning - much better than leaving home at 3am with a 6 year old ! Will definitely use again.

Very friendly staff. Food is just ok, more like fast food. Rooms very plain and cheap quality, the hotel was spotless. Fine for one night or so while waiting for your flight. A little on the expensive side for what it is. No complaints from me here. I stayed in the super room. All in all it's a stop over hotel run by children. Didn't see one mature person working there.

First time I have been here since they renovated. Everything is clean. Staff are friendly. I was shocked by the standard of the dinner on offer. Presentation taste and price absolutely amazing. Recommend the butterfly chicken burger and apple crumble pie for dessert.

Large double room with small ensuite shower room. All recently refurbished so bathroom fittings and bed in good condition. Evening meal in cafe was adequate but not spectacular. Menu very limited unless you like pizza or burgers. Prices reasonable. No decent beer. Staff efficient and friendly in cafe and reception. Very large pay and display car park on 3 sides of Travelodge, flat fee £8 for 24 hours. Long way on foot to any other pubs and restaurants unless have car. Regular shuttle bus service from Travelodge front door to Gatwick airport terminal buildings.

Love Travelodge. Comfortable rooms at a great price and therefore great value. One hard and soft pillow for the bed and major refurbishment recently.

Unlimited breakfast is amazing for those who don't want to contribute to animal abuse first thing in the morning (vegans). Vegan sausages and a lot of vegan friendly food.

Left a jacket at the hotel and retrieved it easily enough.

Not a massive amount of parking. The hotel is very modern. Very spacious in all public areas. Staff very polite and check in was easy and quick. We ended up with a family room. Again this was spacious. Very clean and well presented. Bathroom also nice

Location of the hotel is great. Only few minutes away from the terminal. Staff there are very helpful. However when i received the room, it smell like someone been smoking previously even though its a non smoking room. Overall great hotel.

Loved staying here. We stayed here as a business trip and we found staying here very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff were always friendly, approachable and always there if you needed anything. There is free coffee, tea and a machine if you want cappachino or a latte which is also free. We had a great view from our bedroom window which was very nice and our bed was extremely comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again in the future and certainly would recommend this hotel 😀

Nice comfortable room. USB charging ports in the night stands. Free coffee/chocolate machine in the ground floor. We stayed for an early flight and it was well worth it. Would definitely stay again.
Only bad thing is the stupid design for the bathroom were the toilet is very close to the door/wall...

Stayed one night here (while building working was taking place within the hotel) The odd drill wasn't a problem as o understood it was undergoing a makeover. Rooms are very nice and as a whole the whole hotel is very clean. The staff however are dreadful. Mainly the staff in the cafe/bar. We were seated promptly and told to wait for a member of staff to take our order. We were waiting 15 minutes before having to get up and ask someone who then snapped "we're extremely busy, please take your seat". In that 15 minute period all the tables around us were served (including a couple who were seated, served drinks and starters)

Being made to wait I can deal with but the attitude of not only the staff member I asked, the staff members who served the food etc thereafter was below the standard I'd expect. I'm by no means a snob but I can safely say I won't be going anywhere near the bae/cafe again.

4

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. When we ate in the restaurant for an evening meal our main course arrived less than 5 minutes after our starter which meant that by the time we got to it the main course was starting to get cool. The food was not of the quality we would have expected, feeling like microwaved frozen food that was certainly not worth the price that was paid.

Quite happy with this, ok, so it's a short £3 bus ride away, but it's clean, warm, the staff are friendly and helpful. Bar food is fine as is the breakfast. And change out of £50. Not complaining.

The woman on reception was very helpful, changed my double room to a twin for free. Clean spacious room. Food and service in the restaurant was very good. Prices were also very reasonable. There was a kids' corner in the restaurant, but there could have been something better for kids considering the size of the restuarant and whole hotel in general. Close to the airport. You have to pay for the shuttle bus; a free hotel shuttle would be better considering the distance.

Very good and convenient, no frills budget accommodation for Gatwick airport. Clean rooms and good facilities. My first room had no running water in bathroom but staff were very apologetic and quickly moved me to another room. Good breakfast too.

We used the hotel as an overnight stop before travelling on our family holiday the following morning. I can happily express great feeling about this hotel. All staff were 100% friendly and helpful, breakfast was perfect with all the essentials served and not to forget the room was extremely tidy and offered my disabled father a walk in shower so your hotel is a winner for us and we’ll probably use you again when we travel in the future. I feel this strongly that if there was a ten star option I would have chosen it. Melissa Mallows

Fantastic staff, so friendly and helpful. Room immaculate and towels and bedding good quality. Just had a meal in the restaurant and it was great. Brilliant service. It must be the training the staff get because we stayed last night at Travel lodge Cardiff airport and the service was exactly the same. Thank you.

Great place but to get there you have to pay 3 pound's each on the bus with two people travelling , and a taxi is the same price each way. So when booking take this into account. Other than that great customer service and food is not bad either.

Hotel was clean and bedroom quiet. Bedroom was cold despite information posted by the thermostat that you could control the temperature it is my belief that it was programmed not to go above 19c. It was -2 degrees outside and this was not satisfactory. The shower room was even colder. The restaurant had music playing which was more suitable to a night out clubbing. Plus muted televisions with something completely unrelated to the music showing. It was not possible to escape the music as the speakers are in the ceiling. Not conducive to sitting and having a quiet drink so we ate and went back to our chilly room. The food on offer in the restaurant was pretty mediocre but I suppose it matched the music. Burgers, pizza, couple of salads, a curry and a lasgne. Don't expect 4 star for the price but I do expect to be warm with a with something that resembles a restaurant and not a factory cafeteria. I have another night booked in 3 weeks time and I am not looking forward to it if it is as cold as yesterday.

5

Easy to get to, modern bar and feel throughout the hotel. Parking isn't free (£8 for 24hrs, non-guests pay more) but this close to a major airport that's to be expected. Shower ventilation want very good so after a family of 3 woke up and had showers the moisture in the bedroom was pretty high and being unable to open the windows didn't help with airing. All in all it was OK, nothing great but as an overnight stay before a flight it will suffice.

Travelodge with bar and restaurant. Very slow service in the bar, fairly poor to average food in the restaurant. Parking on site is widely available but not cheap. Rooms are fine and to the usual standard. Reception staff are good the rest are a mixed bag.

My bed was two twins pushed together instead of the single mattress I was expecting. The food was good but they didn't offer any non-carbonated non-alcoholic drinks. The room I stayed in also had accommodations for a handicapped person, namely a walk in shower and an emergency cord. I am not handicapped so I'm hoping no one else needed the room.

6

If you are only stopping one night before or after flying this Travelodge is ok, but if u didn't get a package deal on airport parking I would not come here.
Dark dingy rooms with 2 lights broken, bathroom in near total darkness, stained walls and minimal staff.
The food is expensive and of low quality too.
Has it's own bar and free vend coffee in the evening is it's only saving grace.
Suggest that you don't arrive late as parking is minimal for the size of the hotel and costs an additional £8/night.
The hotel is shabby and in need of investment in some key areas.

It has improved a lot in the last year. Rooms refurbished, and air-conditioning good. Food still leaves a little to be desired though. Not good value (small portions, tiny burgers) but it has improved in service since last year. Staff were happier and more of them.

Location is quite close to the airport and there is a bus you can get from the airport direct to the hotel which at this moment in time only costs £3. Hotel is quite big as it had 6 floors. It also had a reasonably priced restaurant that stays open till 10 and a bar that stays open til late. Room is very spacious with a good sized bathroom. Usual amenities such as TV, AC conditioner, tea and coffee etc. Good place to stay if you are using the airport.

6

A very average stay in a very basic hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the whole place seemed clean and the rooms very spacious. Close (ish) to the airport and very inexpensive.

Large rooms seemed a little devoid of anything but the basics. The bar was very sparse and rather noisy and untidy. There was no shower gel nor soap in my bathroom either.

Honestly? For the price I paid for just a place to lay my head for one night before a flight, it's worth it. But that's all.

Was fine for what it was! We stayed the night before flying, so just made life easier. The receptionist was friendly and we checked in with no problems. We'd booked parking before online.
The coffee machines downstairs were broken, and the whole restaurant was out of action which was a shame and meant we had to go elsewhere.
Family room was clean and did us fine, they provided a travel cot in addition free of charge.
Would stay again as it was cheap and made life easier travelling with small children!

The location is great, lots of greenery and small wildlife nearby. The room is nice, bed is comfortable. Didn't have a hair dryer in the room, but the receptionist gave us one when we asked for it. Wifi is not free, which is disappointing, but for 3 pounds a day it's not a huge downside.

Hotel is fine, as you would expect from a Travelodge. Irons are all burnt out so be careful you don't wreck your clothes. Staff friendly.

Garage is nearby for toiletries or snacks etc....

Rooms are very spacious so easy to store luggage.

Main problem is the appalling bus shuttle to the terminals. You will miss your flight, that's for certain. Allow at least an hour to get to North Terminal or you'll get caught out.

Great value for money as a place to crash if you have an early flight. The room has a good sized double bed, tea and coffee facilities and decent showers. There may be better, more aesthetically pleasing hotels, but they won't be as good value.

Have stayed here before and the hotel was good. However most recently quite disappointed. The bathroom floor was a little dirty and tiles chopped on places. There was also no soap in the dispenser by the sink. A good night's sleep in a comfortable bed though.

Great hotel, always clean and tidy and good value for money if you book month or two in advance. Food always disappointing - takes ages but is never served hot. Always seems warmed up - so I don't eat there any more. Breakfast always poor - half the self service is always empty and you have to go to and fro several times to get a selection of items. Staff wait until item is gone and for someone to ask for e.g. more eggs before they take action and alert the kitchen. Nobody seems to supervise. They should remember most people rushing off to catch a plane!!

5

A clean modern building with the essentials required for an overnight stay. The room we stayed in was small and very basic, but comfortable and clean. Can't say much more because our visit was such a short stay before catching our flight. But in terms of convenience for proximity to Gatwick it serves an important role efficiently.

Stacey Thew Work

5

It's handy for Gatwick and reasonably priced. There is a regular shuttle bus although you can walk through the woodland path to access the hotel too. The rooms are basic and the bathrooms aren't great... but it's a Travelodge so it's to be expected.

5

All travelodges are pretty much the same. Checking in and out was pretty quick. The room was standard and I had a reasonable night's sleep. I didn't eat or drink anything so can't comment on those. I did notice that the reception had what looked like free coffee machines which I haven't seen at any other Travelodge.

7

Stayed for an early morning flight the next day. Arrived late after struggling with the shuttle bus. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Had dinner in the on site restaurant, prices were a little high and food wasn't quite hot but overall a nice meal. Room itself was spacious and neat, very bare which we preferred as we needed the space for last minute luggage arranging. Left early, the reception were prompt and friendly. Good experience overall but just lacking that perfect touch.

10

Exactly what you'd expect from a Travelodge with the rooms - serviceable but comfy. The hotel's main selling point is the proximity to Gatwick Airport, literally a 10 minute walk to the north terminal, but also with a frequent shuttle bus to both terminals from outside the reception doors. Great option for early and late flights.

5

We were only staying one night to get over our jetlag before driving back home the following day. But we had to change rooms as the toilet didn't flush in the first bathroom /room. We were moved across the hallway without any fuss, but the shower drain was quite blocked up. The shower tray was quite slimline, so if you put the shower on average volume there was the fear of it overflowing. So shower was not great.
Glad we only had an overnight stay! The plumbing could have been better!
Room was spacious. Bed comfortable enough.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was fairly modern. Unfortunately, it was not very clean; the spoons in the room-provided tea cups were dirty, and the cafeteria--where we enjoyed an otherwise tasty breakfast--was not well maintained.

Very good value for money. Wish parking had been included as part of the booking. Generally quite clean, but some aspects could do with revamping. Self check-in and checkout is quite convenient, but the the whole experience for me lacked the human touch. We kept wondering where the staff actually were. As for the room itself, quite clean, a bit bare of furniture and the shower was a bit under-powered.

For what I paid though, was quite pleased and was a warm, clean, dry place to lay our heads.

Would definitely book again.

Location is fine, although you will have to get the shuttle to either the North or South terminal which you need to pay for. Room was functional although cold and not the best bed, very basic. No glasses for having water for example.

By far the worst part was the restaurant. The beer was completely flat and the food was terrible. I'm a vegetarian and was pleased to see Linda McCartney sausages and mash on the menu so went for that. I was surprised when the food turned up only 8 minutes after ordering, which sounds great. However, I know that they are supposed to take 12 minutes in the oven to cook!!! So, even such a basic meal was clearly pre cooked and microwaved. If was obvious from looking at them as well. Really tough and mash to hot it had all clearly been nuked!

I was traveling on business and had to book the cheapest hotel at the airport, certainly won't ever staying here again if using my own money!
