Fantastic first time stay with this hotelier and won't be the last. I rate this far above Premier Inn higher rate stays.

Room was warm and inviting and decor was tastefully done. Facilities in the room very good as was the free WiFi and Sky TV.

Food is excellent and really cannot find fault with the hotel and all it has to offer.

Exceptional staff and customer service delivered with no fuss.

We have been made to feel very welcome and I respect that.

Very friendly staff, comfy beds & massive flat screen tv in room. They had a mix up with our booking and were more than apologetic with free dinner and drinks. So lovely of them- Lovely stay!

Hotel was in a great location. The facilities at hotel were great and the staff were super friendly. Although the hotel was clean our room could've done with a bit of TLC. There was also no air con in room which I did not noticed when booking.
It was a very good base for our adventures and we would happily stay there again.

Room was lovely and big, breakfast was tasty and it was really easy to check in and check out. Would definitely stay again if we needed to be in the area. The facilities in the hotel were great too, no need to leave if you don't want to!

The food is good, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was just what was needed. More recently I come here regularly with my boys because the Starbucks opens really early. The staff are always friendly and welcoming even though we're not paying to use the services. Great atmosphere.

No good for a rest lots of door slamming and traffic noise. We were put in a mobility room. Everything is low down, which for someone that is 6ft 2ins was a pain. Drinks were good. Food very good. We do like this particular village as it has a cosy feel to it unlike the modernised ones.

Very nice hotel, nice spa and relaxation facilities, pub, Starbucks, grounds and communal areas. The rooms are a good size with all the amenities you are likely to need. I did struggle to sleep on there supplied pillows but the beds are incredibly comfortable.

The staff are very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Just wish the food portions were bigger for the amount you pay.

A little run down in places, some tlc wouldn't go amiss but the staff were great, the room was quiet and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was a decent selection of the normal foods. I'd certainly consider staying here again when in the area.

The hotel was amazing - excellent friendly and helpful staff. The room was fantastic and was larger than I expected, as well as being very clean. I didn't make use of the on-site amenities, but the fact that there is a gym, bar and coffee shop there was brilliant. 10/10 would stay again

Nice surroundings and friendly staff. Upper deck rooms have sky which you pay extra for but ours kept cutting out like the dish wasn't connected. Tried to call concierge after 9pm but they just didn't pick up. Has a gym and pool and a nice garden courtyard. Food was ok but a little pricey. Probably advise eating out in nearby Chester unless you really need a late night room service fix.

Lovely place, staff on reception and in the dining area were pleasant and helpful.

The room was good, huge samsung TV, iron and ironing board, kettle and other facilities. Did have to ask at reception for more tea bags and milk as we only had 2 in the room to start with, but reception staff were more than happy to help and stocked us up!

The bed was comfy, pillows a bit firm for me as I like a pillow to be squidgy and moulded.

The bathroom is really the only gripe, the sink had a kind of grey crack in the sink and the panel on the side of the bath had seen better days and could do with replacing.

The food was lovely, we ordered off a set menu as we had booked through another company as the food was included, but we did have the option to order off another menu with an allowance of £15, so basically carrying over what we had already had included in the price.

The bar was full as it had a few TV screens showing sports, another pub over the road doesn't show sports so locally it may be the most modern place to go, were not big drinkers so didnt go into the bar, it stays open until 11pm and we were in our room by 9pm and could not hear any noise which was good!

Overall a good experience, I would come again, just one star knocked off for the bathroom which needs seeing to. Recommend!

A bit smaller then your normal village hotel. Lovely staff. Smaller swimming pools and gym though.

I'd think it has about the same amount of rooms. Still has food places which are ok and good for filling up. Defo suggest a breakfast, it's not too of the range but good for price.

Stayed for the weekend 9/2/18. Check in was easy on the computer, booked breakfast. Receptionist was there to help if you needed it, she was very pleasant. Room was ok, had all you needed, was clean and comfy. Bath panel needed replacing though!! Maybe a few more sachets of Coffee too! Breakfast was lovely. Quite a good price. We didn't eat it as very expensive and hubby has a gluten intolerance and not much choice so we went across the road to the running hare. Bit like a brewers fayre. Drinks at the hotel were expensive and the bar was heaving on Saturday as the rugby was on, so we bought our own wine and watched in our room! Overall I enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. thanks

Arrived for silver wedding anniversary and was promised a complimentary bottle of red wine however upon arrival they had not delivered! No information book in room and a pint number is needed to access TV channels but no info so had to see reception as we didn't know the number to call them as again no info available in room. Room ok large and bathroom nice.

7

Very comfortable hotel. I have stayed in several Village hotels and I think this was the nicest room I have had: spacious and with more storage than usual. The food in the restaurant and pub was good. Breakfast was good. WiFi signal in my room was very poor, but at least I had a decent phone signal. My only disappointment was with the gym and pool. They are much smaller than the facilities at other Village hotels. If the gym and pool is something you particularly like about the Village chain, you may be disappointed here. The gym does have more equipment than most hotel gyms (squat rack, bench press, Smith machine, etc) but they're all a bit claustrophobic. And the pool is less than half of the usual size.

Staff were fantastic, great service and very friendly. Food was nice and children's menu was very reasonably priced. The room was good but bathroom I'd in need of modernisation. (Dated tiles and mould/damp on ceiling) Swimming pool was nice, gym and fitness class access is well worth a trip too. All in all very good and we will go back.

Absolutely lovely hotel with really helpful staff who helped us out greatly when we had a slight error with the room we had booked. It was our error but they helped to resolve quickly and without stress. Pool is great too

I had a great experience staying here. The staff were extremely helpful. I had to book 2 nights separately as the Sunday was an offer they had. The lady at the desk was very helpful in making sure we were in the same room both nights and when we couldn't have the room we were first in she upgraded us for free.
The room was clean, the food was lovely.
Will definitely stay again

Location was ideal for me as I was working away from home and this hotel was convenient. Pool & gym were of decent size with plenty of equipmemt to choose from. Sports bar can get extremely busy & rowdy at times but that's December and Xmas parties for you. Food in restaurant was tasty and portion size good. Rooms pretty modern, beds comfy and sky tv was a bonus. Loved having a star bucks every morning on the way out to work. Would definitely stay again.

We got a really cheap deal to stay over so a group of us booked rooms for our annual Christmas meet up. It was so easy to check in with the new self service desk. The room was comfortable and really stylish. Looks like it's been recently refurbished. We had drinks at the bar and stayed for breakfast. There was a party night in the function room but the service was still really good. Really impressed and would stay again.

This hotel is in an excellent location, just inside the Welsh border with easy access from north Wales, Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. Both restaurants are good and the gym and spa facilities are great. My only criticism is that the drinks are extortionate - but this is unfortunatelycommon in most similar venues

Comfortable room, great bar/restaurant and breakfast. Checking in is automated, but unreliable, fortunately there is a staff member to do it for you. The room had a comfortable bed, a bed settee, wardrobe, a big TV with all the usual freeview channels, kettle with coffee/tea etc. Bathroom has a bath with shower over, toiletries and towels supplied. The room was clean and tidy and spacious, the shower did splash on the floor as there was no seal along the bath edge. Breakfast was a buffet with a vast choice, all the usual cooked items, toast, pastries, cereal, which you help yourself to, the waiting staff take you to a free table and get you your tea or coffee. The food was good in the grill restaurant, slightly expensive but tasty. There is also a gym but I didn't use it. I would definitely go back there again.

Plenty of good facilities in rooms on the 'upper deck'. Pool was quite small but plenty good enough. Gym is split into two rooms, so make sure to find the big cardio one! Just ask an instructor as they were very helpful. Great breakfast. Lovely evening food, pricey, but nice.

Room was a standard hotel room, large TV, kettle, tea, coffee etc. The breakfast was great, plenty of food on the buffet and fresh fruit. There is a pub and a Starbucks within the hotel. Check in is all self service, likewise check out.

Nice place to stay. Large rooms, comfortable beds, and good showers. Good bar and restaurant, though maybe a little limited on menu choices. Does always seem to be busy though, especially early in a morning and straight after work due to the health centre

The hotel was in a good location and easily accessible. The room was nice but I wouldn't say great considering I paid for a Club room I expected it to be a bit nicer. It felt more like a standard room. Aswell as this the bathroom was dirty with build ups of grime around the bath edges which was not pleasant at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice meal, particularly good choice of starters and desserts. Good beer range too and friendly service. The only improvement would be to serve the normal menu alongside the carvery buffet so there's more choice of mains

The room was comfy and clean but a little dark to get ready in as only lamps and no main light was available. The breakfast was disappointing as there was no fruit, neither fresh nor a tinned fruit salad but lots of availability of English breakfast if that's what you wanted. The pool, gym and spa were lovely and could not be faulted.

7

Friendly and helpful staff at hotel. Rooms reasonably clean. Rooms a bit tired, in need of new furniture. Edges and tops of most furniture worn. Location great for getting into chester. Great pub across the road. I wouldn't class this hotel as a 4star more like a 3 star. A bit pricey for what you get out of your stay here.

I live locally and this was my first visit - we went for the 'unlimited' 4 course carvery. The servings were very small - the ice cream dessert was disappointing - two small scoops. We made the mistake of booking the table for 2.30 pm - choice of meat for the carvery was limited (the best cuts had already been served - I ended up with the 'tail end' of the Turkey and they ran out of 'pigs in blankets'). Many of the vegetables were 'buttered' - so if you just wanted plain - you're out of luck. The seats were awfully uncomfortable. This a primarily a pub (drinks were eye wateringly expensive), then gym/hotel and then a restaurant - so if you are looking for a sit down meal - there are better places. The staff were however friendly and helpful.

Location is perfect for day trips into North Wales and Liverpool/Manchester. The check-in process was done via the app 24 hours in advance and as I had an NFC enabled mobile I could use it to unlock the room. This is a great feature and worked flawlessly. Room was cleaned and when the sofa bed was made up for our kids, housekeeping made the bed up with 5 mins. Excellent service! Food in the Verve Grill was really good. We were on a weekend deal that included a meal for two on first night and kids eat free. Absolutely great deal. Fantastic place, everywhere clean and plenty of nice places to sit and relax. Highly recommended.

We upgraded our room for £7. It was roomy and clean. Great bed and bathroom/shower. It had a big TV and came with SKY and a tea/coffee maker. The free ESPA toiletries were really nice. Breakfast is great. Can't fault the quality of service and if anything does go wrong, they quickly put it right. Have stayed before and will definitely stay again.

Not been here for a while and this visit was ruined by the hotel being overrun with what seemed like hundreds of very, very, noisy German teenage football teams. Awful. Breakfast seems to have become a lot more limited (cheaper) than my last visits here
